Can I reuqest that the tracked cues in Deathly Hallows PT2 be uploaded as a standalone? I already have the OST and don't want to have to redownload the whole thing.

Hey err...it seems great to post all of this I managed to download it but the files are not named properly. They're all named like "OMDS" or "HDRE" I don't know if you understand...well, there is no name making any sense...Just wondering if it was normal, I mean, the way you uploaded them...But otherwise these work fine it's just a problem of name.

Hey guys, i'd like to deeply apologize for kind of running off giving you guys hope for some Expanded Scores and Video Game scores, it's been a tough time up at school, but with the year drawing to a close I have more time to work on scores. Lol. So here is what i'm currently working on:
-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Expanded Score, Includes: Expanded Film Version Score, Alternate Cues, and Trailer Tracks)
Have Not Yet Estimated The Time That Will Be Added To The Official Release
-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Expanded Score, Includes: Expanded Film Version Score and Trailer Tracks)
So Far, Approximately 5-7 Minutes of Additional Score
Now, when it comes to movies, if the track is abosultely riddled with sfx i do not include it. However if anyone wishes I can do an SFX version of both of these as well.
Also:
-Harry Potters 1-3: Complete Video Game Scores :D
If you guys would like more information or want to see what else im working on, just check my signature or send me a PM
Oh seems like you're working on some great stuffs. I'll be looking forward for the HP game scores and HPB and DH Expanded Scores. But won't you do GOF and OOTP as well? Hmmm well if you doHBP and DH it's already great haha

Well, I'm sorry for that... As I had a computer problem, I took the music from my IPod, and Itunes rename the traks like that when it copy the music... But the tracks are named correctly when you play them via Windows Media Player or ITunes, I hope?

Yeah some of them but not all of them...Well it's not THAT bad don't worry about it :D
First I have to say nice collection! Job well done!
Second, anyone else thinks last two HP soundtracks sound pretty lame? I'm listening to Nicholas Hooper's "The Half-Blood Prince" soundtracks and it sounds awesome! Don't know why they changed the composer in the first place!

Nicholas Hooper didn't want to score the last two films. He wanted to spend more time with his family and didn't want to work on a big Hollywood film once again, because it took too much time.

As in "19 years later" The Epilogue? If so it's in the Deathly Hallows Part 2 OST Additions Pack that ill be uploading tomorrow. It's merely music from the first of course it's two songs edited together so it basically is a legit version. Look for it tomorrow.

Goblet...ill attempt it...but i make no guarantees...same goes for Order of the Phoenix. Goblet got a decent score release so it might be easier, but Ootp's release was horrible...that one is almost a lost cause :P
I can look around for Ootp stuff and see if i can find any additional material, but Ootp is...ugh very "Grim" *two drums and a cymbal*
ON the Brighter side! Hbp is coming along nicely, i've found quite a bit of additional material, meaning that a few people who would do a rip of half-blood prince will have SFX in places mine will not :) "Persuing Malfoy" was an awesome find, completely SFX free, but when i found it, the intro was missing....kept searching and found the intro piece :D

Probably not in the direct movie tracklist but I will include eventually after I track down everything. I've got alot from Hbp though! :D
And yeah Order of the Phoenix irritated the living daylights out of me for having that intrusive electric guitar in Fireworks....i have no idea where it came from or why it was just randomly put in there, guess they put an Alternate on the CD

I don't know I don't really get it too...
Maybe they give what they think are the best versions, I mean, maybe the CD-Fireworks was the original version that Hooper composed and they adapted it to fit the movie but they chose to release the original version. What they don't understand is that most of those who want to hear the music want the music they first heard in the movie ^^then maybe we're also interested in hearing the alternate versions but what we do really want is the music as heard in the movie.
Which also bring the problem of why release some of the music and leaving out some cues instead of all of it...

Mostly it's because the composer and album producer wants to make a good listening experience outside the movie, and so only includes what they WANT us to have, and what sounds good [in their option] in context.
Also, there's a 80-minute limit on the CD's [it's too expensive to have a regular releases be more than one disc], and the more music you include the more you have to pay in fees, which explains why they don't release ALL of it! That would be freaking hard for a studio to do. And composer's like Zimmer and Williams sometimes [or often] doesn't want it all to be heard. Zimmer makes album versions and suites, because he prefers it that way, and sometimes there're even whole scores the composer doesn't want to have released. Like Williams' "The Sugarland Express".
Hope all of this made sense! xD I'm tired and Danish! :P

I understand most of that explanation except for the Disc contraint. Now a days what with iTunes, Amazon, THE INTERNET. There isn't a limit of Discs, there are things called digital downloads. There they have no disc constraints. If they wish to butcher the OST thats fine, but in my opinion the limit of one disc is no excuse anymore. One disc yes for the OST, but thatdoesnt change the fat that there are things called digital albums now.

It doesn't make them money. And in a lot of cases, it's the composer's wish to NOT have a complete representation of the score.

I read somewhere that someone somehow got a clean version of the very brief use of Hedwig's Theme during the WB logo of Deathly Hallows- Part 1. Does anyone have this in FLAC? Nope NOT from the Philospher's Stone recording sessions. And the "clean" version of the WB Logo from Deathly Hallows is actually just a re-recording someone did and they didn't even record the whole thing, they assumed that since the noise got so loud it stopped but it didn't this recording is missing the last 2-3 notes of it that WERE indeed present in the film logo.

To celebrate these glorious soundtracks by James Hannigan, I would like to share my own cover artwork for Part 1. Based on the same basic cover art, but better quality, and with the soundtrack "credits" at the bottom to match the style of the other covers for HP 6/7. Enjoy! I will later be making a similar version for Part 2.

And now, my own cover for "Part 2", made to match the style of the previous covers. Used the awesome artwork, did a few simple shifts, like moving the title down as much as possible, to be able to show more art at the bottom, etc. Enjoy!

Ok, so after a long back and forth with user "Laserschwert", who did a spin off my cover work and made his own, I have now gone and revised my own two covers.
For "Part 1", I raised the image and cropped closer on Voldy's eyes, all to move the overall picture up higher, so the title is in a better place. Also fixed colors a little bit, less of a weird green.
For "Part 2", I used a new image that Laserschwert had gotten, which also keeps Voldy's eyes at the top, which sets the title off nicely, and his also gives a bit more room at the bottom for all the small characters, without covering them with text. Enjoy!

The Sorcerer's Stone Sessions JUST Leaked a few days ago, and that movie came out 9 years ago, so I think it's going to be a little while before Chamber surfaces, though, it does exsist because some guy on Youtube has it. But besides, we're lucky that the recording session even got posted, so let's not start asking for more ALREADY...as much as we might want to...Anyway....

Parker1 doesn't come to the Shrine any more, let alone to this specific thread. And anyway, the only complete score that exists is for the first film. All the others are DVD rips, and poor ones at that (okay, I can't vouch for Chamber of Secrets but I know Prisoner of Azkaban sucks).
Most of those DVD rips are in this thread, as well. And, yes, even if the links are dead here, all you have to do is a simple Google search for the album and possibly a unique-looking track title from the movie you're after to find it elsewhere.

...They aren't extended...they're just remixed parts of the OST...and pardon me, but they aren't edited very well...I could make these in better quality and with better editing, the transitions are not smooth at all...but yeah NOTHING new here. for example that opening of "Courtyard Apocalypse (Full Version)" is from the very end of "A New Headmaster" then, a bit of the OST version of Courtyard Apocolypse plays (the opening), then it goes to "Statues", then it switches back to "A New Headmaster", then it goes back to "Courtyard Apocalypse" from the OST again, and then finishes with the last part of "Statues"...nice idea, but not executed very well, AND improperly named, by naming this "Full Version" it gives people the impression that its an extended version of the track...which it's not....it's merely a suite of all the occurances of that theme from the OST...I bet the same goes for Lily's Theme and Harry Surrenders as well....sorry folks. Nothing new here.

Did anyone besides me notice that in The Deathly Hallows Part 2's soundtrack, "In the Chamber of Secrets" ends before the kiss? Am I the only one who finds that disappointing and really odd? I mean, I understand a lot of the limitations of CD sales; complete scores may require two or three discs, they cost more to make, and most consumers are happy buying the cheaper, single disc version. But that's a really strange thing to cut. It's not a very long cue, it's a significant plot point, the musical swell of it resolves all the conflict and tension built up through the rest of the song, and, melodically, it's a very beautiful moment. Anybody else think the same?
On a different topic, I have to admit I'm coming around to Desplat's work. John Williams is still probably my favorite composer from the series, but DH Part 2's score gives the film the weight, emotion, and drama that it deserves, and I've found that Part 1 is a surprisingly subtle and complex soundtrack.

I also found it disappointing! I loved the cue when Ron and Hermione kiss. I mean, they cut the part where Neville destroys the bridge but includes the part where he climbs back up. It's not that great of a cue so I can see why they cut that.
I wonder what's the average time of music they put into a soundtrack? DH Part 2 was only a 2 hour movie so something had to be cut I guess, even if it's only 10 seconds...

Yeah, I kind of wish the bridge scene was on the soundtrack, too-- it was just kind of a fun little track that went with a fun part of the movie. But it's the absence of the kiss that I'm more disappointed (and confused) by.

I'm crossing my fingers, but I'm not holding my breath. As much as I want a full soundtrack, I'm not sure that a commercial release is on the way. I think I'd even accept a poorly edited mix of the original song with the dvd audio tacked on to the end. But yeah, I would love a complete score.

That's the trouble with all these Mega threads, with their Gigabytes of uploaded files.
The original uploader has not been here for months, and may never be back. Who knows ?.
Even if he does return, he may never re-upload all the files.

Keep in mind that all the complete scores out there for all the movies but the first one are all DVD rips. There have not ever been any expanded releases for any of them so for Prisoner of Azkaban, you're going to get something that's about 15% original soundtrack, and 85% DVD audio...And considering that these films take place in locations that would likely produce echoes whenever someone speaks, the audio is pretty full of non-removable voice echoes.
...In the high ranks of my most sought-after scores, alongside the great works of Hans Zimmer, is Prisoner of Azkaban. And the DVD rips that exist for it are terrible, because of how they decided to format the audio. Unless someone comes up with a program that can remove voice echoes, those DVD rips will likely be all that fans like us have to hold on to for many many years.

All right then - I'll pass on PoA. I ask because I have a complete CoS score (parker1's I think) and the SFX there are very minimal, so I wondered if that might be the case for PoA.

Hello. I'm new to this forum and have a few questions to ask. Why are the complete recording sessions for Sorcerer's Stone available on the internet, even if you can't buy them anywhere? Does that mean that the other recording sessions will be uploaded too one day? And seeing as the most meddlesome country on earth decided to block Mega upload, can anyone please make a torrent of all the expanded scores, sfx or not, or put them on a site that does work?

They leaked. Someone who had them, or managed to get a hold of them... shared. This is my guess.

Not necessarily.

You people will have to do like the rest of us have done: Do a little searching on the internet, and you'll find every score you are looking for.
It's going to take a little work, and it's not as easy as coming to this one thread to find all of them....there are plenty of them still to be found on Rapidshare, Mediafire, Depositfiles, etc....you just have to take the time to look. :)

Yes, well, I'll try, but it's very frustrating if you think about the fact that the LOTR fans did get their complete recordings, not that I'm waiting for more John Williams material, but I'd do anything to have Patrick Doyle's complete recordings! Does the fact that the recordings of Hp1 are available mean that someone must have all of them and that they will keep us dangling for a couple of years before releasing them?

I'm mainly interested in confirming a theory. When I originally watched the DVD a number of years ago, I would've sworn that the music that played during the Quidditch match was the same music that was used a couple of different times in Star Wars Episode 1. I'm just wanting to get the complete version of the soundtrack to see if that's the case. I'm not too worried about SFX, as I have a bunch of Star Trek episode soundtrack DVD-rips, and those were done well enough that any SFX present aren't overwhelming.

While a lot of movies of the same franchise use music that was heard in previous parts of the franchise, it is very rare that a composer would lift music from one franchise and plant it in another. Star Wars music used in Harry Potter? That is quite curious, indeed. The only commonality? They were both composed by John Williams (only the first three HP movies, though).
I am going to take a leap and say that you are talking about Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone, timmermac, because I can think of a similarity between the Quidditch match and the pod-racing music from Star Wars Episode I. The only snag in my theory as to what you're talking about is that all the music I'm thinking of is on the original soundtracks. I won't waste descriptions unless I'm thinking of the same thing you are, timmermac.
EDIT: Oops, I just read your first post here. Looks like we are not, in fact, talking about the same piece of music. But do keep in mind that while Williams likely didn't do a "music transplant" so to speak, there may be some similarities between his works.

Well since John Williams composed both film series (well just HP 1-3), there's definitely some similarities. Off the top of my head, in Chamber of Secrets during the Quidditch Match in the "underneath field trench" scene with Malfoy and the rouge Bludger, the music is very similar to Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (the Courasant/Bounty Hunter chase scene and the Conveyor Belt sequence). Also I've heard that further in Chamber of Secrets the music playing while Harry is being chased around by the Basilisk in the pipes is almost identical to some music in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (maybe the mine cart chase sequence?).

He did very well- I was saying that the piano/celesta theme on Lovegood, would have been a nice theme for Luna. Hooper wrote some little motifs for her in OOTP (one reprised on HBP), but Desplat's theme fits much more to the personality and quirkiness of the Lovegood family. Curiously, the girl who played Luna, Evanna Lynch, went to the Deathly Hallows part 2 scoring sessions on Abbey Road.

The 19 years later epilogue of DH2, that was the original music of Williams just inserted for that scene or was a new recording made by Desplat?
By the way the soloist voice you hear every time that Lily's Theme is sung is of Mai Fujisawa, the daughter of the great Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi.
But she's not the only daughter of a composer that participated on a Harry Potter soundtrack. On GOF Doyle's daughter did the voice of the mermaid song you hear in the movie and soundtrack.
Thought you would like to know this facts of useless trivia :)

The Part 1 list is lengthy, but Part 2 is a little... skimpy.

I know that, I've been visiting to this forum years before I registered.
According to Desplat he wrote more music for Part 2 than Part 1. But he wrote almost two hours of music for Part 1, especially with the film being edited because of the change of the ending (on the script, Part 1 ends when the trio arrives to Malfoy Manor). And Part 2 is much more short than Part 1, with between five and ten minutes of music missing on the CD (A GOBLIN BY THE SEA, OLLIVANDER, OUTSIDE GRINGOTTS, GINNY, VOLDY’S INFLUENCE, NEVILLE RUNS, TRIAGE, HARRY IS DEAD).

OKay, this may be a stupid question, but I'm new to this forum: whata do the names mean in recording sessions, like 1M1 or something like that? When you say there were demos from the score with the same name as the recording sessions, does it mean it was unreleased music? Also, I repeat my question, has anyone tried downloading those 5.1 scores you can get when you put the CD in your pc?
mgm5215

The demos has the music on it's original form, without the cuts from the CD and the film. A example: Landing At The Burrows ("At The Burrow" on the CD), there's a piece missing from the CD, and in the movie, only sounds a minute of it.

Just out of curiousity: I am subscribed to a Belgian soundtrack magazine and every month they talk about soundtrack fans starting petitions for complete recordings of scores, for example The Walking Dead. Did anyone ever try starting a petion for the Complete Recordings of Harry Potter? I tried this a week ago, but the petition site was rubbish.

Don't take this the wrong way. But, It's upsetting 'ORDER OF THE PHOENIX' is the one film without a complete score, without SFX. Seriously.

What?
The only one with a complete score w/o sfx is Sorcerer's stone...

All right. I stand corrected. But I thought at least STONE and ASKABAN (sp) had complete, no sfx versions. I just really want Umbridge's speech without any Sfx. lol

Thank you! Why do I suddenly have to type words in Mediafire before being able to download the files? I don't understand their computer voices at all. @Manowweik1995, did you also include the movie version of the Gringotts Dragon, or only the one you hear during the credits? I prefer the movie version.

Lol, I meant a non-sfx score. :D Btw, I have also e-mailed Desplat's agent to ask for the 5.1 score for Part II. Is it me, or does that download of the soundtrack in surround sound that comes with the cd is not surround at all? Just bloody wav files. I really hope she answers my e-mail. Watertower music, Warner Bross and Abbey Road didn't reply anything.

Same. Williams did a great job on making Hedwig's theme and the musical landscape of the saga, but the other composer's works represent better the HP world (especially Hooper and Desplat who are huge fans of the books, the movies and the scores). Of all the eight scores I prefer Azkaban, GOF, Phoenix and DH1. All of those feels unique.

Okay, I spent half the evening reading half o the entire topic (really relaxing after my exams :D ) and have some random questions I hope someone will be able to answer.
Does anyone still have the complete recordings for Soccerer's Stone, "with silecnes/speeches"? as one user put it.
Does anyone have any idea if there are sadistic people out there who have more recording sessions but don't share them?
Does anyone have the recording sessions for Angels & Demons for me?
Thanks in advance!

LOL, it's not as simple as that! The inner and darker workings of the music industry are far more complicated and intricate than higher-ups simply not wanting to share with lower-downs. You have quite a lot to learn, and atm, I haven't the time to explain it.
Does anyone have the recording sessions for Angels & Demons for me?
90% of your posts somehow find a way to include this exact question, and yet nobody has answered it yet. I wonder why. I strongly recommend you save yourself both the time and typing and just create a sig that says: "If you have the Angels & Demons Recording Sessions, and could share with me, that would be really swell!"...or somewhere thereabouts.

I notice you're mentioning that the music similarities occur in specifically "Chamber of Secrets". I do hope you all have done your research. There was a whole issue with the Chamber of Secrets score. John Williams composed the new THEMES "Dobby The House Elf" "Gilderoy Lockhart" "Spiders" etc. but William Ross' involvement MIGHT be what's causing similarities:

Okay, thank you for your explanation. I know, I have quite a lot to learn, don't forget I'm only in my first bachelor year. :D I already started a thread for Angels and Demons and got in touch with an Italian girl who claimed she knew someone who had it. And regarding HP recording sessions, there is a guy who posted a bunch of excerpts from the COS recording sessions, so what drives me mad is the fact that they can upload it on youtube while not uploading it here. And sorry if I make things too simple, but if someone would ask me for music I happened to have, I wouldn't see any reason not to give it to them, unless I was a git who reslished keeping others dangling.
Oh well, I'm confident WB will one day release the recording sessions for all of the movies though, if they ever run out of money. :D

The scores to the two Deathly Hallows games didn't get official releases (or, at least, I can't find anything on major digital stores). Only game-rips are available... and games tend to use lossy-compressed audio, so, not much hope for quality.

Okay, thank you for your explanation. I know, I have quite a lot to learn, don't forget I'm only in my first bachelor year.
Okay...Not quite sure what that has to do with anything; I started learning the ways of the industry my senior year of high school which was about two years ago.
regarding HP recording sessions, there is a guy who posted a bunch of excerpts from the COS recording sessions, so what drives me mad is the fact that they can upload it on youtube while not uploading it here.
I've seen talk of this guy, and I agree with your feelings toward him. It's jerkwads like him that give the rest of the elitists a bad rap. It's like he's saying, "Haha, look what I have, and look how poor all you losers are, you suck and you can't have what I'm waving right in front of you." But not all of them are like that.
And sorry if I make things too simple, but if someone would ask me for music I happened to have, I wouldn't see any reason not to give it to them, unless I was a git who reslished keeping others dangling.
Now, see, saying things like this are absolutely wrong. Take a look at all of the requests ever posted on this forum, and then take a closer look at which ones have gotten responses and satisfactory resolutions, and then consider the length and types of posts as well as the form of discussion in each of those threads. Certain threads never find solutions. Reasons could be:
The music was from a really old film that never had a proper release OR the music has been lost to the ages (I can't think of any examples)
The music is a very rare and difficult-to-obtain release (some promotional scores)
Absolutely nobody outside of a composer's close circle has the music and therefore, it is out of the reach of most hands (Titanic, or the still-missing cues from Transformers 1)
Some of the higher-ups do have the music, but they cannot share it because: people elsewhere in the industry get in great trouble/fired from their jobs/get blacklisted; the higher-up himself could get in a lot of trouble and lose his opportunity to obtain more scores for his collection; sharing it with the public would mean that the score would lose its value as a means to trade and obtain other rare material among elitists (most anything from RCP)
I see you say that you can't see any reason not to share something with someone if you had what they wanted, but then I see you saying this in your request (
Thread 117190):
and I swear I won't share them with others!
If you won't share it with anybody else, why would they feel inclined to share it with you in the first place--given they feel the same way you do? It is not always a matter of "not wanting to share".

Before replying, let me say thanks for your elaborate answers (not sure if 'elaborate' is appropriate here, but it's the only thing my dictionary comes up with). They are very useful.
okay, in the first bit I just meant that I don't really have much experience, and I thought that age must have had to do something with having experience in this kind of branch.
Well, what annoys me most about the YouTube guy is this: you either keep your mouth shut so no one knows you have the music, or you just upload it on this forum, but you don't do what he does - I wouldn't do it, at least.
Okay, but are you saying that scores like the Simpsons Movie, Iron Man etc. were all leaked by high-ranking people? Because these days, staying annonymous on the internet isn't that difficult, is it? Suppose that a high-granking person would want to leak a HP score, and if they are a bit clever with computers, it would be perfectly possible for thme to pos them, wouldn't it?
And in my request, well I don't know if it's wise to say this here :D , but I thought I could get more results when I promised not to share anything, seeing as a lot of people here are very sensitive about it.
This o-also got me wondering: if the recording sessions for HP1 were leaked, does it really mean that the CDs that were posted physcially exist (even if they're not released publicly?) If so, it must mean that WB, at some point, will release them, doesn't it? Because if they won't, it would be kind of pointless to make Cds and have them lying around. Or were they simply stolen from a computer or harddrive or something like that?
I do my very best not to be unreasonable, but it is sometimes hard to accept the fact that everything I don't want has leaked, and that everything I do want isn't available. God knows what I would do for someone who asked me to return a favour in exchange for a complete Goblet of Fire score. :D

I don't want to intrude on the whole discussion, but having read that, I have to say this: Nobody here, or anywhere else, is actually forced to share anything with anyone... So, if there are those who want to act like "pricks" (but again, the thing is rather relative)... showing you what they own and not share it... they can do it. It may come off as "rude", but they would be totally entitled to act like that.

Basically, 95% of the stuff you just assumed there, bollemanneke, is an absolutely flat-out, wrong assumption to make. And now you have two choices. Would you like me to: a) give up trying to explain stuff? OR b) break down everything you just said, get nit-picky about everything, and explain why all your assumptions are wrong?
Now that I think about it, didn't we already go through this once? I swear I've already had to explain music industry stuff to someone in a Harry Potter thread before...

Oh, feel free to explain my wrong assumptions, because I'm keen to learn. I remember you explaining me how music is recorded and mixed, but I don't think we've been trhough this before, but I have a blackout because of the tough exams so I might be wrong, sorry. :D
Answer to the previous post: I never said they were obliged to share anything, it's just pointless to show us excerpts.

Believe me, big companies like WB have their ways of tracking people and hunting them down. If it was as simple as you say I believe we would have all the stuff we want instantly. I'm sure there's always a guy up there who's willing to get some extra dollars for a score he'd probably never listen to anyway.

okay, in the first bit I just meant that I don't really have much experience, and I thought that age must have had to do something with having experience in this kind of branch.
Age is totally irrelevant, since there isn't a school or whatever that you can go to to learn this sort of stuff.
Well, what annoys me most about the YouTube guy is this: you either keep your mouth shut so no one knows you have the music, or you just upload it on this forum, but you don't do what he does - I wouldn't do it, at least.
First of all: there are other forums besides this one. There are tons of other music-sharing and -discussing forums out there, and many of them are private--you have to meet certain requirements or get a recommendation or whatever to get in. Second: I still agree with you that people like that YouTuber are nothing more than cockteases, but he did what he did, and we can't do anything about it, so...that's that.
Okay, but are you saying that scores like the Simpsons Movie, Iron Man etc. were all leaked by high-ranking people? Because these days, staying annonymous on the internet isn't that difficult, is it? Thread 90635 Yes
Thread 79099 Not sure. On these forums, you could consider the likes of Piano, scorepranos, and scoreman to be "high-ranking". There are many more. I do not know what anonymity has anything to do with this...Nor do I understand how computers could be involved. Are you suggesting that someone could get away with posting something and not get caught? That is false as evidenced by the leaking of "Batman Begins", (or was it "The Dark Knight"?) Within minutes of the thread appearing, everything in the opening post was deleted. There are people watching and there are some things they watch for that are NOT okay to leak or post.
And in my request, well I don't know if it's wise to say this here :D , but I thought I could get more results when I promised not to share anything, seeing as a lot of people here are very sensitive about it.
A promise means nothing, especially in this day and age AND across the internet. It's like, "I promise not to take more than two cookies," and your mum says, "Sure," and then you take three cookies. Your mum was keeping track and saw that one cookie was missing. Everyone else knew exactly how many cookies they took and suddenly everyone is looking at you and you're in trouble.
Also, in this digital age, not everything necessarily has to exist in physical form. But even if it did, that does not automatically mean that the music will get released officially. The music could have been stolen and copied on to CDs, or stolen and copied onto a flash drive, or actually given out, but the vessel by which the music was transported has no relation whatsoever to the likelihood of the music appearing elsewhere later on (I could have worded that one better).
I do my very best not to be unreasonable, but it is sometimes hard to accept the fact that everything I don't want has leaked, and that everything I do want isn't available. God knows what I would do for someone who asked me to return a favour in exchange for a complete Goblet of Fire score. :D
And finally, you talk so much about wanting people to give you stuff, but have you considered that they will want something in exchange. If you are trying to do a "black market" deal, it is highly more likely that the person you're working with will either want a rather large sum of money or another score of equal or greater value in return. Keep in mind that rare scores that finally leak to the public don't normally appear because someone made a black market deal and then thought, "I'm going to ruin a couple peoples' lives and upload this for everyone to have."
No, I would believe more that the cause for leaking was either: Someone screwed up and caused and accident; or it was an appropriate time to share something. But I could be just as misguided on some of this stuff as the next guy. And still, the rabbit hole goes deeper.

Oh, I didn't know that some scores were deleted, sorry. I came on this forum because it was the best one, according to a website I forgot.
When you say 'an appropriate time to share something', can it mean that people from above actually gave permission to upload something without asking money for it?
I would never ever want someone to give me a score without doing something in return. I would be more than willing to pay, but unfortunately, I'm not a relative of Doyle, Desplat or others. :D

Thanks for the info... What a shame... I read somewhere, that one of the two games had in its Collectors edition (?) a CD with the score but I guess if you guys don't know about that then it's probably not true... :-(
The scores to the two Deathly Hallows games didn't get official releases (or, at least, I can't find anything on major digital stores). Only game-rips are available... and games tend to use lossy-compressed audio, so, not much hope for quality.

Since the definitive edition of the films will be released on September, maybe next year they'll release the full eight scores. Now that Harry Potter is finished, WB will find ways to keep cashing the cow, and releasing the complete scores could work for them.
bollemanneke
06-19-2012, 07:59 PM
My thoughts exactly! Besides, did WB say the September edition is the definitive one? They still haven't released the extended cuts from movie 3-8.
mgm5215
06-19-2012, 08:04 PM
According to them, it's "Definitive", but it's obvious that they'll release more editions in the future. Especially having lots of footage cut by WB, (like 45 minutes of the original three hours cut of Order of the Phoenix, and the alternate battle scenes in Deathly Hallows Part 2).
Also, they need to release a extended edition of Creating The World of Harry Potter: Sound And Music, adding to Desplat.

Yes. WB people are stupid, and part of them have been involved in butchering the HP films (like cutting 45 minutes of OOTP, Dumbledore's funeral, toning down scenes by making them accesible to all public), but they're trying to keep cashing on the HP saga, so it's matter of time until the complete scores can be released, just like the definitive edition of the films.

mgm5215
07-08-2012, 04:13 PM
Of course it's not definitive. I mean, there's no extended edition of the 3-8 films of the saga. The special features are practically the same from the Ultimate Editions, there's lots of deleted scenes not showed, interviews and casting auditions of the cast that weren't fully showed.
theodred27
07-08-2012, 05:35 PM
There will be nothing definitive until they have got all the money they can get from these movies , Im sure we will see another complete definitive edition 45 dics sets with movies in 2d 3d + 10 cd of bonus + a wand + harry potter's underwear etc.
It will only be at the final moment they may give us some real extended versions ( I don't really think so , but who knows )
And then they will start a reboot with new cast etc , my only wish is that , if a reboot actually occurs I hope it is not going to be made by Warner Bros , the way they butchered the movies for duration time and family purposes are a shame.

THIS. I'm hoping for a reboot ala Sherlock Holmes or Game Of Thrones where they can have the freedom of expand JK's books instead of trying to cram everything in two hours. The problem is that a reboot can't have the same kind of sucess like the film adaptations. I think that the Harry Potter film series had a lot of luck compared with other book franchises like Narnia or Percy Jackson (though there's a second film being filmed) where the books we're directly butchered (ironically, Colombus who directed the first two HP films, directed the first Percy Jackson movie).

theodred27
07-08-2012, 06:35 PM
Yes Harry Potter got very lucky , I think its mainly due to the fact that it came out at the good moment , when the book started to be huge success and when fantasy book adaptation were at their begining. 2001 seems to have been the year 0 for books adaptation ( Im speaking for HP and The LOTR ).
In the case of music , well it's simple , recently we ve got Horner to compose The Amazing Spiderman whereas Danny Elfman composed it 10 years ago .
I can imagine in 10 years a reboot but the music will certainly not be made by williams ( he is getting old) and I dont think the studio would hire him for this.
We could have James Horner or even Hans Zimmer to compose Philosopher's stone 10 years later.
mgm5215

What, you mean re-make the movies? I don't know, imagine who would compose the music then...
No. I mean, readapt the J.K. Rowling's books in a new take of the story. There's a difference between remake and readaptation. Also, the movies started to being made before all the books we're released and they cutted stuff that they didn't know how important we're going to be. So a reboot is necessary.
We could have James Horner or even Hans Zimmer to compose Philosopher's stone 10 years later.
James Horner was originally the composer of The Philosopher's Stone.

07-08-2012, 07:15 PM
Sorry, but was exactly is a reboot if it isn't a remake? They can hardly put scenes betwene the original movies using other actors. And thank Williams won't be there anymore to compose the music then, I hope Patrick Doyle would be able to compose music!
mgm5215
07-08-2012, 07:21 PM
A reboot is a new take on a story. They would be readapting the books in a new universe, a new vision, much more close to what Rowling intented. Would you call Guy Ritchie and the BBC's adaptations of Sherlock Holmes remakes? No, because they're two different takes of the Arthur Conan Doyle's books and the characters he created.
