Thunderbird 6 MGMCD 001 2004 [37 minutes approx.]



This soundtrack to the 1968 film was released in a limited edition in 2005. A version of the song The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze accompanies the aerial shots of Alan and Tin-Tin flying from Tracy Island at the beginning of the film. The director apparently wanted the Tiger Moth to simulate a dance in mid-air, and played this song on loudspeakers from the helicopter while filming.

Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons FANCS20 2015 [238 minutes approx.]



Fanderson three-disc set of enhanced and remastered music from Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. It contains music written for, or used in, all but three episodes ("The Heart of New York" and "Treble Cross" contain no original music and the recordings for "Traitor" are lost).

Using mainly percussion, brass and wind instruments, the music sounds sparse and stripped back in contrast to the full orchestral sound of Thunderbirds. With the exception of the four-note Mysteron theme, Gray usually restricted his use of synthesisers to space sequences. Captain Scarlet's theme, heard in both versions of the end credits, is a variation on the Mysteron theme, emphasising Scarlet's history as an ex-Mysteron.

Trunk Records presents rare jingles, jazz and advertising electronics from Barry Gray. The 81 cues on the disc all date from between 1959 and 1965. Products range from the new space-age Hoover Keymatic, for which Gray provided an electronic score, to jingles for new banana cereals. Among the vocal talents are the Mike Sammes Singers, Eric Sykes and even Barry Gray himself. Love the Johnston, Mooney and O'Brien Bread jingle.

I've tested it several times and the password worked every time, it is case sensitive, LucyS and not lucys. I've never used iArchiver, just WinRAR.

Ditto. I have been after the CD release of Thunderbirds 2086 for absolutely ages. I have listened to the LP to death now, along with all its annoying crackles that ruin all of the quieter material. The source Vinyl must have been rather scratched which is a shame because on many past releases I usually always preferred the sound quality of the Vinyl, especially those released alongside the original CD release.

This is one awesome thread, Fanderson material is not easy to come by, especially the older CD sets like Space:1999 2 CD sets. Thanks to all who have posted these magnificient sets. I have a request to anyone who has the Space:1999 2 CD sets. Can you post the booklets for those 2 sets? The one that comes with the general release 1 CD is a good read but i always wanted to get those 2. Unfortunatly they're nowhere to be found, not even eBay. The only bit of luck i had was with Terrahawks wich i managed to buy. Pity the majority of Kate's songs have been presumably destroyed.

So, if anyone can upload those booklets, you'll have my eternal gratitude.

The Space 1999 6 CD soundtrack set is definately compiled from the music only tracks on the Year 1 boxset. Breakaway is not included as there is no audio only track. The same with Dragons Domain. Also the covers are made up of scans of the network box and booklets.

As a fan of Space:1999 myself, my advice to those who want a complete collection of Year 1 music is that you get the following:
a) The 2CD Fanderson set, it contains all of Barry Gray's music composed specifically for the series.
b) The Silva Screen CD adds 3 things to the collection:
1 - A remixed and better sounding Main Title, IMO (The ones on the 2CD set never sounded right to me, don't know why)
2 - Track 13 - The Solarium (not Barry Gray' but, for those who want a more complete collection, a welcome addition, since, when the 2CD set was made, they were unable to locate it). Personally, i wouldn't miss it that much.
3 - The tracks from "Black Sun" in stereo. (Only one of the multi-track reels was located at the time the 2CD set was being made and it was decided to use the mono mixes wich were the most complete at the time).

There are a few small cues from other Gerry Anderson shows that haven't been used on these CDs but they don't amount to much. The 6 CD set is basically the same material in the Fanderson and Silva Screen CDs along with those cues, re-worked by music editor Alan Willis to fit the episodes and presented as a music only track in 22 of the episodes of Network's Remastered Year One DVD Set. (I highly recomend this set to everyone as Space:1999 never looked or sounded better.)

I also suggest the version of the Main Title Theme included in "The Cult Times Re-Opened" compilation. Arranged and conducted by Year 2 composer Derek Wadsworth, it's a proper extended version of the Main Title Theme, clocking at 3m10s. The Year 2 Title Theme is also included in the CD.
These 2 and the remaining tracks of the Fanderson CD's, along with pretty much every cover version and related theme can be found at http://www.space1999.net/moonbase99/mp3menu.htm . For better quality, the Silva Screen is in this thread in MP3 and lossless and the Fanderson 2CD Set in MP3. The lossless files have been removed from the lossless thread, due to recent problems with a certain member, hopefully someone, and this is intended as a request, someone will repost these lossless files soon.

Hi - LucyS, I hope you don't mind me doing a little shameless self-advertising here...
I've done up a complete soundtrack to "Thunderbirds Are GO!" and I'm wondering if anyone's interested in me uploading it.
The way the music is edited in the film is great - there are pretty much no sound effects over the music, and where there are I already had album recordings I could use. One or two of the tracks have SFX, but they're generally unnoticable. I couldn't use the rear channels or anything because my DVD is in mono. However, if I do say so myself, it's turned out rather well. Let me know if you're interested anyway. I may take a little while because I'm nearing final exams and don't get as much computer time as I would normally, but it'll be up by the end of November anyway.

May I ask if someone who has the Space 1999 Fanderson 2-disc set of SEASON TWO could upload it at 320 bitrate please? The Season One at 320 sounds terrific.

As i said, i only have the LP Rip. To my knowledge it is the only available music from X-Bomber (Besides a single containing the OP and ED and a couple other tracks that are on this LP) and it is far from complete. Still, the OP and ED themes are there along with some of the main tracks.
It was a blast earing these after nearly 28 years since i saw the original. I find it strange that with Go Nagai's manga and anime boom a few years ago, no one brought this back in it's original japanese form.

The songs and score were by J-Rock/Pop band BOW-WOW (today known as VOW WOW, as not to be confused with a certain american rapper), led by Ky�ji Yamamoto, while Kazutaka Tazaki (of Baja Revolution) and Nakayuki Sakuraba (of Adbaloon) provided additional music for the show.

Being an LP Rip the quality is not like a CD but it's actually quite good for a record that was published in 1980.

I think you mean Shuki Levy and Haim Saban. As far as i know they only did the opening and end credit themes. Like the italian version, the french used the original (and IMHO, far superior) japanese BGMs. At least thats the impression i got from the few episodes i've watched.

Update: After watching the full episode 1 in Japanese, French and Italian i have to admit i was wrong.
The italian dub does maintain the original japanese BGM in full but the french is a mix of sorts.
It does maintain most of the original BGMs but some have been replaced by original music wich are the ones in that french soundtrack. Why, for the love of God, did they felt the need to replace the awesome BGMs with those sub-par tracks is beyond me.
At least in the UK they did a full fledged re-dub. But why maintain the original score if you're going to spoil it with bits of lesser music?
At least the best tracks have been maintained. Cliping the battle track, will post what i piece together ASAP.

Thats a bit rich coming from you captaincubbio. You have posted on here requesting people to upload the Fanderson CD's. You have then edited your posts on here because you have been warned about it on the Fanderson forum.
Also looking at the latest posts on Fanderson, it is apparent why you want the links removed, because you have just bought the CDs. So please if you cant have the courage of your own convictions, dont try and spoil it for everyone else now that you have what you want.

Thanks for this gem, JonC. One issue: Disc 1 and the Artwork file are both the artwork zip file when I download.

I'm not sure what you mean. I just checked the links and found that Disc 1 is 172 megs, Disc 2 174 and the artwork is 16. I rechecked the original files I packed them from and the art does not appear packed within another directory.

Could you let me know exactly what happened and I can try and resolve the problem.

Well, apparently I just didn't hold my mouth right.

The first 2 times I tried, Disc 1 downloaded the 16 meg art file. Honest!

I have this myself in the format you require, but the last time i offered it and tried to get it up to file sharing service, it wouldn't go.

Me Too! Thanks for offering though JonC. I do like the Silva Screen releases for sure, but the Fanderson offers a bit more material. Wadsworth does a great job, as does Gray of course. Wondering if the new Blu-ray releases would have the isolated scores. That would be wonderful.

The protectors soundtrack is a 5 cd release and doesn't come cheap.

Not sure what music is really on it, other than Avenue and Alleyways (End theme)

I think I have them Not All of them, they were were placed on the Thunderbirds DVD's as a bonus and I also think they were added to the Cpt Scarlet DVD's too leave it with me and I will get back to you

Didn't know that Fanderson or anyone was doing a "Four Feather Falls" release.

I'm to young to had seen when it was first released (wasn't born) and I have never been tempted to even look at an epsiode.

I don't think I've looked at any of Gerry Anderson's or listerned to Barry Gray's music prior to Fireball XL5

It's the show "Woody's Roundup" from Toy Story was modeled after.

Never mind, I was. Fanderson in the UK has just released the disc. Just as an FYI, Four Feather Falls has a special place in the Gerry Anderson canon as it was the first series the made without Roberta Leigh (Twizzle and Torchy) These two, too, were scored by Gray and how Gray met with Anderson. But moreover, the concept for Four Feather Falls was Barry Gray's idea originally and he penned the first script, if memory serve me well. [See YouTube] And then, of course he wrote the music. There was a companion EP that was made as a spinoff, and is still around floating on the Internet.

I'm having a bit of trouble download The Secret Service Soundtrack. None of the links for it take me to a working download for it. They all just say "This file has been removed from this location"

Does anyone have the CD-rip of Thunderbirds 2086? I have the LP version and the crackles ruin the experience :\

Great music. Too bad the 2004 Thunderbirds movie didn't have such classic music, although Hans Zimmer didn't do such a bad job. Even though I didn't grow up in the 60's (I'm 19), I'm very fond of Gerry Anderson's creations and Barry Gray's music.

Can someone re-upload Space 1999 Year One CD? Thanks ;)
