I have the Blu-Ray soundtrack but given its coming out in CD i'll wait to compare the 2 and at that time i'll post the CD rip, along with any tracks from the Blu-Ray mix that might have turned up different due to the mix, along with a couple of extras. :)

Right now I'm on a Yamato overload. Downloaded and watched Yamato 2199. Now I want to go back and watch all of the original series completely as I never had that opportunity. It never aired in my area when I was a kid, it was always out from a large city just far enough that I could only get a TV signal on a good day, so I got in snippets and couldn't get a whole story. Thinking about ranking it back up there with my top sci-fi series. Must have more......

The first 2199 soundtrack didn't drop until about six months after the blurays did.

If someone can find me the end theme for episodes 1-2, they could probably name their price.

While there's some nice new music, by and large it's new arrangements of music we've heard before, most about 1 minute in length. That CD has six tracks, the first track is the end theme of eps 7-10, the second is one I don't recognize at all and the third is yet another rendition of the classic Yamato theme song sung by Isao Sasaki. The final three tracks are instrumental versions of the first three.

Alas, ending theme of 1-2, you still elude me. ;_;

So I've pretty much bitten the bullet and have committed myself to acquiring the entire Sound Almanac disc collection. It will be expensive and will take time, but there it is. In the mean time I will try to post it all using the sources I currently have on file and update as each disc is acquired.

However do you have an order you'll be... ordering the albums in? I think it would be much more sensible to plan out which albums you/I buy first to satiate the hype in this forum haha. I won't be able to buy more than 1-3 albums a month however, so don't expect too much of me!

(I'm an avid space anime music collector and I helped upload the Origin V/VI OST for Gundam as well as the Crimson Red Single a few months back)

I started by filling in the gaps I had after acquiring copies through either iTunes or this very thread, realizing that they were the gaps others had as well. Once I made the decision to go all in I am starting with the least expensive and am working my way up. That seemed to be the logical route considering how hard a few of these will be to find.

In my rush to post these missing tracks I completely posted the wrong bit rate versions. What I added were 128 m4a instead of the 256 m4a to go along with the rest of the album. This has now been corrected.

With all the Yamatober excellence going around, I figured I owed it to people to try and toss my hat into the ring. My offering is a facsimile of the 1978 Tokuma album "Space Battleship Yamato Theme Song and BGM Collection", the very first release of original Yamato BGM, as well as some rare Karaoke tracks. Therefore the remaining Be Forever Yamato album and the Symphonic Suite for series 3 are composed from both the 2004 Eternal Edition discs previously posted combined with the iTunes bonus tracks for the respective album. While not strictly the Sound Almanac editions, they present the complete programs for those albums.

I Adore the Eternity of Love is a version acquired from another site. Considering that the Sound Almanac was the premiere release of this album on CD, I am going out on a limb to say that this IS the Sound Almanac edition, but I could be wrong.

I'm kinda desperate to find a non-vocal version of the song as it appears in the end credits for the first two episodes of 2202. There's a really awesome guitar bit that doesn't show up in all earlier versions of the song. It's for use in a fan project, but I'm having zero luck. Any ideas where else to look?

When they first arrive at the false future earth, the crew is treated to a selection from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. For all intents and purposes, it is a part of the film's soundtrack, but Nippon Columbia claims to not have a record of which recording was used in the film's sound mix.

Tl;dr: "This disc presents the BGM recorded for Be Forever Yamato. 34 pieces were recorded that were not included in Music Collection Part 1. Unfortunately, Swan Lake is not included because it wasn’t clear what master was used. The music on the disc basically follows the development of the story, but as mentioned above, the sound source of the latter part is based on 4-channel masters and newly mixed down to stereo.

However, as it was, in BGM meant for theatrical use, the mix on the 4-channel master was mainly concentrated in the center. So while appreciating it as music only makes the stereo mix feel a little out of place, it still respects the original mix."

It opened up into a 14-page color storybook with substantial passages from the script. Like the movie, the first half is recorded in mono and shifts to stereo in time with the ‘Warp Dimension’ changeover. The song Life of Love was re-recorded by singer Mitsuko Horie in order to clear the copyright for Nippon Columbia, and since a sample of Tchiakovsky’s Swan Lake (Act 3 No. 17 Allegro and Waltz) was used as source music inside the lair of the Dark Nebula Empire, the track itself appeared on this album."


Also speaking of nothing, I ordered the 4th 2202 ED single (ED 5: Yoranka - Shino Arima and ED 6: Ooinaru Wa - Kouichi Yamadera) a few days ago and it's released on the 31st. So expect it up here in at worst 2 weeks, unless someone else beats me to the punch haha.

Scarlet, what I was propositioning was that that IS the master which was used in the film mix. I compared it against the film and the rip of the Drama album that's floating around, and it seems to match perfectly.

Edit: Hate to be that guy, but I notice most of the albums are only in MP3 or lossy M4A. Do you have the FLACs too ?

All APE files, eg in the "Space Battleship YAMATO 30th Anniversary Premium Eternal Edition" boxset seem to be corrupted. Neither VLC nor foobar are able to read them. I checked with hexdump and the files are completely filled with zeros.

Edit2: 1983-V Digital Trip Final Yamato Synthesizer Fantasy is missing the 9th bonus track in FLAC, it's only in M4A format.
I want to say that even if I'm complaining, I am massively thankful to you for uploading all this, these albums are very hard to find.

All files are what I have available at this time. Some of my folders are compiled from different sources which would explain any file type differences.

My Premium Eternal Edition was a share from another user who has allowed to pass it on, so I can't account for any issues with the rip.
