Two suggestions to help with this problem. (1) Make sure you have the latest version of WinRar or 7Zip programs. (2) If the two parts do not extract correctly after upgrading your software it may be necessary to download them again. If the problem persists then it may be something went wrong during the packing of the file but if that was the case I think others would have mentioned it.

Finally saw the live-action movie. 3x. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was awesome but not perfect.

Got a few questions, Does anyone know where the ENGLISH VERSION of 'Ginga Tetsudo 999' ala Galaxy Express 999 is to be found? Also i just finished off a Yamato inspired space opera COMEDY series called "Irresponsible captain tyler" Amy Howard Wilson the voice of NOVA from Star Blazers is in one episode as well, but i heard a LOT of english music popping in and out, does anyone know anything about THAT too? ^_^ Some Of These English Dubbed songs are GREAT and i'd like to find em. Hi, I just registered to ask, because I've been looking and looking for this song. At the scene in Be Forever Yamato, where they meet the emperor, and that classical music is playing in the background, when the emperor asks if they like their classical music. Does anyone know what song this is??? I would be forever grateful if you could tell me. :)

It sounds sort of like something Johann Strauss would do, but I don't actually recognize it.

The Commander lifts his hand and a stage curtain rises without a sound. The prelude is heard to the ballet Swan Lake! Odette the ballerina dances onto the stage with Siegfried in a brilliant performance. The music is powerfully performed by a full orchestra!

I ended up finding and listening to all of Swan Lake last night at youtube, and I didn't recognize any of it. :( Here (http://www.starblazers.com/html.php?page_id=245) it talks about the music composer was influenced by Tchaikovsky, so perhaps he wrote that piece himself. I also listened to the two Be Forever cd's, and didn't find it anywhere. :(

The music in Yamato 2199 is awesome. Most of what has come up are remakes of the classic season 1 themes but they sound as good if not better than the original ones. And the new themes don't fall behind. The music that is used when we first see the Kirishima and the 1st fleet before the Battle of Pluto is great. The new version of "Large River" is perhaps my favorite remade track, it just seems to pack a slightly bigger punch, and have in mind the original was already a powerful theme. For those wondering, it's the cue heard in the last part of the trailer. The new version of "Yamato Sleeps in the Setting Sun" is also a favorite. Really looking forward for the "Yamato Theme" to see what they've done with it. Hope a soundtrack CD doesn't take long to come out.

I requested this a while back but in the meanwhile i got it. Yamato 2199 OP single, contains the new Yamato 2199 version of the opening theme sung by Isao Sasaki, a new rendition of Scarlet Scarf and the karaoke versions of both songs. Scans of the cover and booklet are included.

That version of the first teaser is either an early edit of the new Great River or another track entirely. Guess we won't know until we get a soundtrack, soon hopefully. :D

I got the subbed files in 720p 8bit (10 bit just doesn't work on my PC or TV) for archive purpose and the Zero-Raws version for higher quality. I'll keep an HD and SD archive. I'm that much of a Yamato nut. XDDD Oh, and i just got the actual Blu-Ray. Even though i don't own a Blu-Ray player. Yet, i guess. XDDD But i admit, i got it in an auction and mostly because it comes with Yamato Crew's Yamato 2199 Ship Journal Volume 0 and the Lotteria Clear File (wich i already have so that one will go to eBay) :D

At this time there's no announcement for a score CD. The only music released was the single i posted and there's a second single coming with the new end song (not really excited about that). Great River was ripped from the Blu-Ray release, i believe it's the menu BGM.

Just a heads up on the Yamato Music front...

The soundtrack to the DIRECTOR'S CUT of S.B.-Yamato Resurrection will be released on August 22. I've not seen this cut of the film yet, but I've been told they replaced all the classical music from the second half of the film with new arrangements of original music from the series. It's supposed to be a truly epic album.

On the Yamato 2199 front, still no true soundtrack release, but another 4-track CD is planned to release three days form this post, on June 27.

This is turning out to be a great day for Yamato 2199 followers. Not only has some kind soul (ok, it was me XD ) posted the previews for episodes 4 through 7 on youtube, someone else also posted a new piece of music (like the "Great River" cue i posted a while back it must have been ripped from the volume 2 Blu-Rays), this time its the already-amazing-in-the-original-but-now-even-more-awesome Yamato Main Theme. I'm not sure what episode of season 1 where that piece originated, but it is on the Eternal Edition File 1 CD. The faster version is on track 3 from about 3:30 to 4:02 and the slower version is the first 30 seconds of track 9. I know the piece also appears in season 2 when everyone on Earth is panicking and wanting to evacuate after the defeat of the EDF forces.

Was thinking about buying the Fukkatsu Hen Director's Cut soundtrack. Is there anything on the regular soundtrack that is not on the director's cut version?

The director's cut got a redone soundtrack. All the classical music that was used in the original version was replaced by new arrangements of Miyagawa's score. So, if you like the original Yamato scores, the Director's Cut is the way to go.

Thanks for the info. I've been listening to some of the song samples on CD Japan for Yamato Fukkatsu Hen and noticed something interesting. Track 14 (Fukkatsu Hen no Tame no Symphony) of the theatrical release is the same theme music I heard in Yamato 2520. I don't know if it was actually used in 2520, but it was used in the documentary for it that I have on VHS. I think it was called Episode 0, but not sure. They showed a few clips of the ship in action and interviewed Syd Meade. I hope this piece is on the director's cut CD as well. Still going through the samples.

I do love it when a composer is offered a massive recording budget, a bit pot of money, and is asked to just do whatever the hell he wants to do. You tend to end up with pieces like this; true 21st century masterpieces. My knowledge of Yamato music is limited (well, non-existent) but I understand that this symphony incorporates melodies from previous Yamato incarnations -into four splendidly structured movements that feel like they've fallen straight out of the late romantic classical period. The fourth movement in particular becomes a mini concerto for piano, violin and orchestra. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STUFF.

If you're talking about track 32, that is pretty much the same as in the original. The guitar is a bit more pronounced but the basic theme is the same.

however, the tempo is much slower than the original. One of the joys of the original track is its tempo and the immediate guitar riff, kinda had an ominous mood to Desslock, especially when he would shocking appear on the viewscreen.
the newer track with the slower tempo kinda lacks this "shock"

Thanks for the info. I've been listening to some of the song samples on CD Japan for Yamato Fukkatsu Hen and noticed something interesting. Track 14 (Fukkatsu Hen no Tame no Symphony) of the theatrical release is the same theme music I heard in Yamato 2520. I don't know if it was actually used in 2520, but it was used in the documentary for it that I have on VHS. I think it was called Episode 0, but not sure. They showed a few clips of the ship in action and interviewed Syd Meade. I hope this piece is on the director's cut CD as well. Still going through the samples.

@Reef2 - is "Adore the Eternity of Love" the disco remix album? If so, you're out of luck - I asked like 10 pages ago, and no replies. (If I recall, it was only released once, ever, on actual records, so if nobody grabbed it before it went down, re-making the files is not as simple a matter as ripping a CD.)

I thought that was up around here. I have the vinyl rip, not the best quality but its quite good. I'll upload it ASAP. Hopefully, with the upcoming CD release in Yamato Almanac, a CD quality rip will appear. :)

I know what happened now. RapidShare changed the default folder permissions for all accounts in January; since I wasn't using folders I couldn't alter these settings. When I looked at my account last week all I did was fix it for myself, not others. I have created folders with appropriate privileges and the link in my original post and quotations by others appears to still work, but that may just be for me. PM me or post here if the link doesn't work for folks who are not me.

Jager, that's a scam site. Before it was filemates.com and now it's rapidgator.net。 I hope I'm not too late posting this...


What follows is basically this story (http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php?topic=4853.0) which, by my own fault, happened to me today.

I discovered this website jcd4share (http://jcd4share.com/). I found some shares of composers we all love and also lots of brass band albums. Ok, let's download them all. Huh, each share is uploaded on filemates.com (http://filemates.com/). Whatever. I'll just register to a premium account for 30 days to get what I want. This being my first premium account, I was of course really excited how fast I could download them all. After the download has finished, I wanted to extract the rar. Prompt message of that rar being corrupt. Whatever. May the next share please not be corrupt.

After two downloads, I discovered that each rar had the same file name. So, it was all a scam. I didn't check beforehand. Later, I found out that jcd4share is operated from Hong Kong. Warning sign no. 1? Maybe. filemates.com doesn't allow free users to download. Premium account is required. Warning sign no. 2. All this sharing of fake links probably just served one purpose: Him/Her getting hits and later getting money. Luckily, I stopped just after two downloads.

I guess the lesson is if it's too good to be true, it's probably fake. But this mastermind really put some effort into tricking me. While I was still fooled, I checked if his share of a recently released soundtrack was indeed...recently released. Everything fit...

I was pretty angry for falling for this trap. It's probably not even a new scheme... Anyway, my filemates premium account definitely works. If you ladies and gentlemen happen to find filemates links for soundtracks, I will immediately send you the log in links. Unfortunately, lots of users use filemates just to upload video games and pop music. Not really orchestral.


I got done by the same thing. Duped into joining filesmates.com in order to get a DVD rip of the recent Final Fantasy Vana'Con concert.
Queued up 8gb download. Came back twenty four hours later, realised all files were the same.
Played file - it's a four minute video of somebody zooming in and out on a packet of cigarettes with a shaky camcorder.
Absolute bastards. :/

Edit: Just looked at jcd4share.com - it looks identical to the site that screwed me over. I can't remember what it was called - but it's the exact same design, exact same everything. Obviously the same guy.

Edit again: ????48 (http://www.torrent48.com/) was the site that ripped me off. Don't bother with that one either. Same old bullshit.

Hopefully someone would be kind enough to share the 2199 OST Part 2 later, since listening to the audio samples doesn't do it justice. Can't wait for Chapter 6 to be released on Blu-ray at the end of July!

The director's cut got a redone soundtrack. All the classical music that was used in the original version was replaced by new arrangements of Miyagawa's score. So, if you like the original Yamato scores, the Director's Cut is the way to go.

1982 was the year that individual members of Symphony Orchestra Yamato stepped forward to make their own musical statements. Guitarist Yoshio Kimura, Pianist Kentaro Haneda, and Violinist Tsugio Tokunaga had played key roles throughout the production years and earned the nickname “Yamato Trio.” Kimura had been with the orchestra since the first Symphonic Suite, Haneda joined up for Farewell, and Tokunaga brought his virtuoso talent to Be Forever. All three had shone many times and were now celebrities in their own rite.

These three ‘Rhapsody’ albums rearranged Yamato scores from across the saga (up to and including Yamato III) to favor each of their own instruments. They were titled Mellow Guitar, Fascinating Piano, and Romantic Violin, and were equal in every way to the standards of the symphonic albums. Haneda did not actually perform on Fascinating Piano, since much of his time was devoted to co-writing the score to Final Yamato. Instead, he took on some of the arrangement duties and made room for secondary pianist Toshio Suzuki.

Thanks to all for the soundtracks here. I remember watching this as Star Blazers in the Great Southern Land, and then rediscovering it all with the Japanese versions, along with the newer Yamato 2199 and the live action movie. Awesome stuff!!

Now, if only I could find the movie itself...I found the theatrical cut's use of famous classical pieces really distracting, so I'm hoping the DC, having mostly original score, would be more, uhhh ..palatable.

Here's another masterpiece for you... I do love it when a composer is offered a massive recording budget, a bit pot of money, and is asked to just do whatever the hell he wants to do. You tend to end up with pieces like this; true 21st century masterpieces. My knowledge of Yamato music is limited (well, non-existent) but I understand that this symphony incorporates melodies from previous Yamato incarnations -into four splendidly structured movements that feel like they've fallen straight out of the late romantic classical period. The fourth movement in particular becomes a mini concerto for piano, violin and orchestra. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING STUFF.

The 2009 recording is overall superior but this one was first and has a special charm all of its own - and Haneda himself at the piano. It's great to have it, particularly as it has been properly remastered and is sounding INFINITELY better than its earlier CD release. A rare thing; a Japanese remaster with dynamic range that actually surpasses the original release in every way.

Hi there guys. "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato - Soldiers of Love"(theatrical film) and "Space Battleship Yamato 2" (26 T.V.episodes) dealt with the Comet Empire. Most of those organ Comet Empire themes are represented on the various albums and CD's that were released, however there's one piece of music that i have not yet found. In Episode 26 of Yamato 2, Zordar's dreadnaught appears from the wreckage of the city fortress confronts the Yamato then turns to earth to start its bombardment.
As the ship turns away from the fiery hulk of Yamato with Zordar laughing, there's a variation of the CE organ theme that has an extended dramatic coda line. This is the piece that i don't have.
Anyone know if this was ever put out for release? I don't have it at all on any of my CD's unless i'm just skipping it by accident.
Anyway if anyone knows about this wonderful musical piece can you let me know if it exists on any of the Yamato music releases.

Hi ArcadiaSSX999! I beleive the piece you're looking for can be found on Eternal Edition YAMATO SOUND ALMANAC 1978-VI (Space Battleship Yamato2 BGM Part 2) Track 32. I've found that this CD contains ALL of the series 2 cues that I had been looking for (including my personal "holy grail", the beautiful cue heard at the end of episode 23, as the Comet Empire lands in the Great Eastern Sea). Unfortunately, I don't think anyone has uploaded this disc yet. I Hope this helps!

I only have two soundtracks with the yamato 2 score.
1) Space Battleship Yamato 2 (Eternal Edition 4) with 19 tracks.
2) Space Battleship Yamato 2 BGM with 37 tracks.

You're welcome! Yeah, the labeling system can get confusing. The Sound Almanac Series is the latest and, I believe, most comprehensive collection. One thing I wasn't crazy about with the original Eternal Edition releases was the lumping of several individual cues into psuedo suites. The Sound Almanacs have rectified that, with each cue having it's own track listing.

Ark of the Stars IS NOT a side story. It is part of 2199's story, taking place between episodes 24 and 25. Save for the prologue and epilogue, the movie can be seen between those episodes in perfect continuity, going as far as answering a few questions left unanswered in the series (like what ever happened to the Zoellgut II) and sets up Yamato and Earth's future involvement with Gatlantis. Hopefully all that will serve to bring a second season to fruition.

Has anyone purchased the "Ark of the Stars" soundtrack blu-ray? Mine has arrived on my country and i will try to make a conversion but it might still take a while.

im also still waiting for ark of the stars, i cant import it in due to credit issues, but i plan on picking it up when i go to japan this summer. unfortunately, i dont want to wait that long to hear the new comet empire theme!
