Well, that depends on your tastes. Judging by the two listed, it seems like you're more into seinen. The top rated seinen on the my list (which I'm still in the process of building) are The Melancholy of You-know-who, Zero no Tsukaima (seinen somehow), Kimikiss, Ai Yori Aoshi, Myself; Yourself, and Kaze no Stigma.

I've read Naruto, Ruroni Kenshin, Bleach, all that jazz....none of them are all that great. A few of them a good, enjoyable at the very least. Most have a neat premise and the author knows how to use suspense and keep the reader going.Sadly most of them consist almost entirely of the rinse and repeat cycle, where a character meets rival/ nemesis, becomes stronger, beats rival nemesis, then meets and even stronger one. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Bleh. Sorry, I just wanted to get that out of my system. Move along, don't take it seriously.

A big thing for me when it comes to anime is the quality of the music. I love Star Trek because Gene Roddenberry knew how important music was, and had Jerry Goldsmith write the music for each and every episode of TNG. Anime series bug me because the music is recycled SO MUCH. Even in series I enjoy very much, the music is recycled.

I don't really intend to argue this down (this being the wrong forum for such things) but I really can't let something so blatantly wrong go uncorrected. Jerry Goldsmith only did the music for every episode of TNG if you count the opening theme. That was the only music he ever composed for the series though.

I'm not going to argue this either. I usually look up what I make statements about beforehand, but in this case, I did not. Moreover, trying to argue on an internet forum is like yelling at a pile of bricks and expecting a coherent, intelligent response. But I do know an original score was written for each and every episode.

Aw, there's nothing wrong with referring to an anime by its Japanese title, even if you hardly understand Japanese. Personally, I tend to use both English and Japanese names for anime interchangeably, like Nabari no Ou / Ruler of Nabari. Of course, that's a pretty easy one. Otherwise, it doesn't hurt to do a quick search.

Speaking of which, would you even recognize them if you knew their English titles were Fist of the North Star, Fighting Spirit, and Knights of the Zodiac (respectively)? Two of those are from the 80s.

Knowing a series' original title or knowing Japanese doesn't make me more hardcore, or dedicated. And if it does it only means I'm only devoting more time to a pursuit of which little will come. No, I am not offended. I just deal with far more people than I care to think about who overrate the Japanese language or think its only good for translating yaoi doujinshi. I rather like it myself; it's a relatively simple, efficient, yet flexible language. Sentence structure is similar if not the same for most instances. It all depends on how formal you're being.

So no, I'm not fluent. I should add that I did take a few years of it in high school, then went there for a vacation where I tested out my skills and found them to be unsatisfactory so I got myself a copy of Rosetta Stone and some books and study on my own from time to time.
Anyway, I just think its silly to refer to something by its Japanese title if your main language is English. If its still new in Japan, I try to translate it, rather than call it by its Japanese title, unless the title translates to a meaning which is unique to the Japanese vernacular.

Well there are two halves, really. There's the more atmospheric ones like Kino no Tabi, Haibane Renmei and Boogiepop Phantom then there are the action ones like Code Geass. Actually, I guess there's also the in-between ones like Rozen Maiden.

A series I keep meaning to watch is Toshokan Sensou (Library Wars) but that's just because the crazy idea behind it sounds like fun and I like the look of one of the characters.

I found Bokusatstu tenshi dokuro-chan also really funny anime :D

One of my favorites has to be Gungrave. The way they weaved the whole Crime-drama/sci-fi theme was very well done, but the ending was stupid.

I also love Samurai Champloo, it was funny, exciting, had wonderful music and it was just a blast watching.

Good and bad are comparisons, not innate attributes. You would have to give an example of what you're comparing the work to in order to claim that it's bad, if you ever wanted to debate the issue.

I've been more into manga than anime. I guess right now my favorite manga would have to be Nana, i've also watched the anime version of it. Something I really like about the anime is the fact that it's the exact same as the manga, they didn't butcher the story line.

Well my favorite anime are: the Gundam series(I've liked most of them), Black Lagoon, The Law of Ueki, Ergo Proxy, Rurouni Kenshin, Seirei no Moribito, Kaiba, Nijuu Mensou no Musume(is pretty good), CCS, Air Tv, Full Metal Panic! and Ride Back :D

My favorite manga are: Shin Angyo Onshi, Hour of the Mice, Rurouni Kenshin, Kurozuka, Death Note, Until Death Do Us Part, Glacous, Doubt, Skip Beat, Gakuen Alice, The Law of Ueki, Medical Dragon Team, Dogs, Freesia, Code Breaker, Reply, and that's all I can think of....

Favourites are still Neon Genesis and Rahxephon. I don't get tired of watching them today.

My favorites are:

- Neon Genesis Evangelion, the series. The "end of evangelion" OVA should be instead named "the murder of Evangelion storyline and the rape of all characters".

- Mushishi: This was a pleasant surprise. Was a random pick that turned out to be an amazing series!

- Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: The second GIG was also very good, but not as great as the first.

- Bacanno!: This was another nice surprise. I picked it randomly and it turned out to be one of the best things I've seen. xD

- Monster: If you don't know it, a) shoot yourself in the head now, or b) drop what you're doing and watch it! ^_^

I had no idea that a Viewtiful Joe anime was made. But the real qiestion is if the cartoon is as hard to watch as the game was to play.

Compared to watching the anime the game was childsplay. Grating voices and terrible design, along with a plot so bland it made cheese look exciting, was all that me and many others could see. Watch an episode on Youtube and you'll see. The rest were ok though.

The only anime I've ever enjoyed properly was The Twelve Kingdoms.

I'm a sucker for anime with "sadness" in it.

Well, there's DragonBall GT, but I don't watch that, and from what I heard, it wasn't very good.

DBZ, in my opinion, was a good representation of the manga excluding the filler bits. However, I only watched up to the start of the Cell Saga, so it may have gotten better after that.

Anime would be Magic Knight Rayearth, Escaflowne and Evangelion. The manga i�m enjoyed are Bokurano, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, and now i�m reading Soul Eater, Naruto and One Piece.

As for anime...I have watched so many they all seem to blend together. I watched K-ON! this week, and I loved it, though that doesn't answer the question.

My favourite manga is a toss-up between Pokemon Adventures and Dragon Ball. That doesn't say much since the only other manga I've read are Flame of Recca, MAR, MAR: Omega and Busou Renkin.

I highly recommend both Azumanga Daioh & Yotsuba&!. Azumanga is in a newspaper funny strip style but there's a story that keeps the strips together and Yotsuba is pure joy.

My fave anime is Ghost in the Shell
Fave manga is Berserk

Manga: One Piece; just THE BEST!

Anime: Cowboy Bebop; more style than I thought any one thing could have.

I'd like to think the manga must be better than the anime, where every episode becomes just increasingly suckish due to the abysmal voice acting.
