DragonBall Z,Evangelion and Kenshin Himura the battosai

Super Milk-chan. That is singlehandedly, in my opinion, the greatest thing ever. Interestingly, they dubbed it twice, one dub being less vulgar and closer to its Japanese roots (the one shown on Adult Swim, and also my favorite) and the second dub more Americanized and understandable and vulgar (I only saw a little bit of this dub on Youtube but I'm not 100% fond of it).

Other than that, I like the first couple seasons of Pokemon, Evangelion, Full Moon, This Ugly and Beautiful World, Aishiteruze Baby, and Karin (all except Pokemon and Evangelion I watched subtitled).

I just started watching Naruto and I must say I like it. One thing I've noticed is that the pacing is like the series '24'. A lot is crammed into a season without realizing it. Right now I'm at Episode 95-96. The site where I watch the episodes doesn't have the complete episode though.

I really like those animes alot i'm gonna try to watch Tokyo Mew Mew seen my friend says it good but she said to watch it in japanese cause in the english version the acting is very poor. :-X

There are quite a few good anime series, but if I really had to choose, I'd probably pick Wolf's Rain. Here's why (a lengthy explanation coming up):

The animation is surprisingly good by being fluid and detailed. Action scenes are drawn well, and many of the dramatic conversations don't fall that much behind in terms of animation quality. However, I might say that the human scenes are drawn a bit better than the wolf scenes simply because some of the scenes where the wolves move look a bit exaggerated or unrealistic when compared to real wolves, but in any case it is only a minor flaw and doesn't detract from the otherwise good animation. The backgrounds are often detailed and beautiful to marvel at as well, so the show's a feast for the eyes.

As far as audio goes, the Japanese voice actors do a great job in helping to portray their characters and never get too over the top even when the situation might call for such a thing (e.g. certain dramatic scenes with Darcia). Their acting really makes me care for the characters, and many of their voices have the unique flavour that really set them apart from one another. Sound effects themselves are properly handled and never sound ridiculous unlike in some anime shows.

The music by Yoko Kanno deserves praise as well. She manages to mix traditional Western sounding melodies to truly ethnic and occasionally bizarre compositions, and this polarisation works and never becomes a mess. Although the score itself is fragmented, there are obvious thematic ideas and motifs at play and the way she makes those ideas work is quite fascinating, and that too shows her versatility as a composer. "Shiro" (with all its variations in the score) is a truly beautiful orchestral theme that sticks to you once you listen to it a couple of times, and that's just one of the many themes one encounters in the score. To my amazement even the songs are quite good and fit into the setting, and the opening and closing titles are surprisingly beautiful and haunting. In short, the music works really well in the show, accompanying happy, tragic, dramatic and thoughtful scenes and enhances the emotional side of the story in a great way.

The story doesn't disappoint either. It starts out well, introducing characters along the way in a pace that isn't too fast and yet it doesn't drag along either. Characterization is done well as we gradually learn more about certain characters, their pasts and thus their motivation for what they do. I like the 'greyness' of the plot in that it shows some dark traits in the heroes and also shows some 'good' traits of the villains. No one is truly bad or good but instead is situated somewhere in between, and everything happens for a reason.

The story definitely has a past, a present and a future, and it manipulates all these to form a increasingly complex plot with many nuances. This also means that none of the characters are static and they all change as the story progress. I was also impressed how dark and tragic the story was and how one can't be certain who will survive in the end. I like the ambiguous ending and the way how certain things are left unresolved show that everyone can form his or her opinion about the things to come.

However, there are some things in the story which were rather unfortunate. The pacing in the very final episodes was a bit too fast for my liking (especially if you compare it to that of the other episodes). Some truly tragic stuff happens, but things go downhill in such a fast pace that one hardly has time to process everything that's going on when the plot moves ahead. Although the end result still works and shows us some truly heartbreaking, tragic and beautiful scenes, I feel that the impact would've been even better had the team made a few more episodes thus paced the final episodes better. But that's just a minor flaw in an otherwise good story.

All in all Wolf's Rain is a series that truly touched me in a way I didn't expect. It was an intense experience with great music, memorable characters, interesting plot, good voice actors and truly heartbreaking scenes, and some of that was somewhat reminiscent of certain Disney animated films in a good way. It was an experience I'll never forget.

I haven't read many different ones but I really enjoy Hunter X Hunter and Ichgo 100%, but I only read a chapter a day so it takes about a week to get through one voume. I just try to limit myself even though I want to read the next chapter so badly.

Personally, my two favourites have to be .hack//sign and Serial Experiments Lain. They both focus on the characters rather than action scenes, thus allowing great development, especially in the first mentioned. I also enjoyed Basilisk: The Kouga Ninja Scrolls, Chrno Crusade, Azumanga Daioh and Ergo Proxy a lot. Chrno Crusade's ending was kinda iffy though. Sharing the first spot also rests Cardcaptor Sakura, which might seem odd. I watched it years ago and I was immediately hooked and I especially loved the second arc. It made such a large impact I still consider it one of my favourites, even though I don't follow the rest of the franchising anymore (Tsubasa etc.)

I have to say my favourites are a draw between Fullmetal Alchemist and Death Note, as well. I've been a Fullmetal fan for about a couple of years now, but I've only just gotten into Death Note, and I already adore it. The story is fantastic and the characters are... well, they're the Death Note cast. What else can I say about them? There are others I really like (InuYasha held onto my heart for a good long while, and Evangelion is always good for the lulz emo), but FMA and DN are my faves.

Well, my favorite anime/manga of all time would definitely be Urusei Yatsura. It's special to me in many ways and, for the most part, is kind of what really got me into anime. Well, before then, I was really into Sailor Moon, but... I dunno, somehow Urusei Yatsura is just more special to me and to this day I still hold onto it with a special love... now if only I could get around to finishing it. I'm close! Very close! Unfortunately, I don't seem to have enough time to watch/read it too often. ^^;

As for current favorites... well, right now I'm into Death Note. And I mean REALLY into Death Note. It's such a refreshing change of pace from what I usually see in anime/manga.

Haha I've seen the anime and manga, as far as i'm concerned, the manga was wayyy more confusing. The whole thing made no sense, and there's what, two books?

I guess I have a little love for Full Metal Alchemist as well since its the first anime I watched from start to finish lol

Because this country appears like a cash cow to every darned publisher, I don't read much manga or watch much anime. I have to resort to downloading scanlations sometimes (although the odd 'official' scan will pop up). Though I have seen enough to make a good enough decision:

I have to say One Piece for anime, oddly enough. <3 the JP version... don't even get me started on the 4kids or Funi versions.

Favorite manga... I'm not sure. It's between either Ranma 1/2, Death Note, or Dr. Slump.
