Yep. There's also one that you have to activate by finishing the Thextera hunt (the second one) and talking to the petitioner again at the physical bazaar in Rabanastre (Muthru). His name's Gatsly and he stands in a niche to the West (It'll be on your right as you're walking through the bazaar though).

for lp just go to one of the bridges in lhusu mines and kill the skeletons that keep popping out.for exp,the best place to go is the secret area in henne mines,in order to get there you must first get 10 espers and then talk to a garif elder at the garif village.the bats there are worth around 3300 exp. per char. but be careful,they are deadly even at high levels.

also,if your having a hard time with the bats then i say just continue on the story.if you're at bahumat though,then i suggest subterra at the pharos

Yes espically since the enemies will swarm you once you step out of the evelator and even if you kill them all they will come back if you go into any of the rooms. SO be very careful and keep a sharp eye out. Also on the undead level sometimes after you kill a Skeleton a ghost type will show up in its place so be really careful as well as reaper type monster will show up near the exit of some of the rooms and they can use Annual which means Mp goes bye bye. But a good place to level and pick up some of the rare drops for final weapons.

also make very sure you stay away from the magic pot,if you attack it it'll become invincible and start attacking you with flares.(you can kill it if you give it an elixir before you attack tho)

Also as stated in the Yizmat thread you can steal back the exilirs and then kill it and maybe it will drop a Megaxilir. Also gives great Lp with out the golden bangle with it well lets just say you won't have Lp problems for a bit.

Well i got 10 espers (need to get Chaos, Ultima and Zodiac) I will try the subterra and hopefully I can survive there. What weapons do you suggest I bring. Penelo's got the Deathbringer, Basch has the Save the Queen & Ashe has the Masamune with genji gloves. Is that good enough???

put penello with a powerfull bow basch with the Ragnar�k and vaan with a the strongest weapon u got penelo will use magic insted of her weapon put the right gambits

Use who ever you like everyone is basically the same until level 99 then a few differences happen but nothing truly big. You should at least be level 70 to attempt and have all the items like Phoenix down and ethers maxed to help out.

My suggestion if you have it slap Penelo with Aegis shield it will help ALOT since magic will be avoided alot. Give everyone a Black mask to heal from Dark attacks since near the end Zodiark and the monsters pretty much use all Dark attacks. Have all spells espically attack ones since once zodiark has less then half hp he will throw up a Pailing and keep it up Steal his serptaniuras-sp?- stone before then. Have High magic rest because Zodiark sticks with alot of magic spells espically near the end. Watch out for Zodiarks Special since it can randomly kill the characters you might lose none 1 2 or all it varies so keep an eye out for it. Revive all characters immeditaly and don't really bother healing near the end just let them die and revive with Downs to keep the battle flowing well.

Every thing else just fight how you want to and with who you want to. Rememeber it is not the weapons or the equips but rather the stragety that wins the secert fights in the end.

Okay. Um where do you get excalibur? O and Subterra is the best place to train but its hard cause once you kill all the guys it take forever for them to respwan. Okay I will try Chaos now any suggestions?

If you mean Chaos the wheel walker the esper just take out his elements first then kill him easy as pie pretty much.
Excalibur is in the great cyrstal go to gamefaqs look in their maps section on the Faq page for better directions then what I can give you. Be prepared I went looking for it with the Map and I had a cyrstal bangle found the treasure chest it is suppouse to be in and tried for 3 hours to spawn it and got zip.

As for subterra just move from room to room in a clockwise pattern and they usually respawn or you can hope into the elevator and go up a floor then go back respawns everything. Also the best place to train is Hene mines locked section since the monsters are level 70 while the Subterra are level 50 to 60

Do weapons actually respawn, I could never get Deathbringer to respawn and I spent about an hour trying... I got the one and it just refuses to respawn for me...

no, most weapons that you get in chest can only be obtained once.

Does it matter that the weapon is a steal from a mimic?
If not... damn you Gamefaqs, wasted an hour...

If it is a steal then yes you can unless otherwise stated I think the Deathbringer trick only works once but I am not sure on that.

Not that it matters Im keeping Vaan with the Deathbringer I have and training Basch and Ashe up with Ninja Swords and Katana's for the high combo rate. Cant wait to get Genji gloves. Do they make alot of difference.
Im on the Phon Coast now btw.

Yes they do I comboded Ultimate Blade 10 times on Zodiark once and got the Max for Masamune later trust me get them from Gilgamesh they are one of the best equips in the game.

No as far as we know as of today you can only get one. Either by not touching treasure in 4 areas then going to the Nechrol of Nabudis or in Hene mine locked section. To this date no one has claimed to have gotten 99 Zodiac spears with out cheating.

The chest respawns but the spear does not every after that point the chest will contain Gil or a side treasure just like the Excalibur treasure chest in great cyrstal no one has gotten 99 of them either also the Hene mine you have a 1/1000 chance, I believe it was calculated at, of getting it. And to this date no one who has gotten the Zodiac in Nechrol has gotten it later in Hene and they have tried. You get ONE and that is it even though the treasure respawns so don't waste your time going for 99 it ain't happening period.

They are all mostly the same to me. Their stats are not all that different to matter in the end, so I mostly use the ones I think have the best personality.

I like Balthier, Ashe and Vaan, mostly, but I like to change them once in a while. Basch is also a great character.

He doesn't need to I didn't and I got on just fine with level 73 and level 25 characters at the end no problem.

Hynad there is a Slight difference once you max out a Character's level such as Vaan and Basch have THE highest Atk power out of them all. And I think Penelo has the highest casting while Ashe has the fastest speed and Fran is balanced between them. But for ALOT of the game play it doesn't matter since Augments equip and so forth will equal out the slight differences in stats we are talking 15-20 point difference not like 50 or higher so different equip will negate that very easily.

BusterBlade: The character's magic power is determined by the same stat for every type of magic. So Penelo having the same Magic stat as Fran would end up with them doing the same amount of damage when using a Black Magic.

And you're right, all characters being mostly the same is a bit boring.

could anyone please tell me if there is a way to light up the rooms in the subterra of pharos

Yes those Black orbs you obtain when you kill off monsters? Well you need some of those go into a room in Subterra now near the entrance is an alter it usually in a corner it looks like a Block with a depression in it. Go up to it and activate it it will ask you how many orbs will you use. Use only 1 per request to prevent wasting those Black orbs which can be a pain to get. As you fill up the alter with a ceratin amount of Orbs a Light will shine forth it will light up the room area and after you get the light the more orbs the brighter it gets. The maxium number of orbs will completly light up the area. Before you max out though you will get light its just not as bright is all. This is also how you get acess to the next level of subterra.

Though you need to kill the Phoenix on the first level of Subterra before the Lift will go lower even if you Light up all the rooms.

There was a guide posted way back in this thread somewhere, I believe, with the exact number of orbs to use for each one, if you find it painful to bother with one at a time.

I need help in the Sochen Cave Palace, them flipping pumpkin things are getting to my tits (pardon my french and i am a guy) i have all three quickenings with my character, my van is lvl 36, balthier lvl 33, fran lvl 33, basche lvl 33, ashe lvl 34, and penelo level 34, i have the two espers balias and mateus, and i have all the magicks and tecknicks thus far in the game, i have three deathbringers and 2 sledgehammers and a bow i cant remember the name of, and i cant f****ing do it! :'( am i at bad levels or am i just crap! if anyone can give me advice it would be highly appreciated!

One strategy might be to try some Quickenings and try to execute a Concurrence. If you can do that and damage all of them at once, you'd be off to a good start. Make sure to go in with your protective statuses --- i.e. Haste, Protect, Bubble (if you have it), etc. Another good idea might be whenever possible to try to maneuver it around so you're only fighting one or two at once and they're not all gangbanging you. I seem to remember that some of them use status effects, so you might want to have a Gambit for Remedy or Esuna, etc. at the ready.

Also equip Staus protecting items that guard aganist Sleep, Blind, and Silence I think are the big ones they use. Try to fight them as Agent said Piece meal as best you can but if you have a Quickening use it on one in the middle of the group that way the Concurrence hits as many of them as you can. Same with wide area spells. Also if you have the gil for it Gil toss at least once it is one of the most powerful wide area attacks you can have if you use Max gil you can toss. Another good stragety is to remove the Hammers and go with different weapons since Hammers and Axes are either Low or High damage with more often on the Low. Also if you have a good supply of remendys use them since they get rid of most Stats from the get go and you only use one turn.

It's those bloody little bombs that keep getting me. I can't seem to kill them quick enough before he whoops me with Fira or the like. I don't have the items really, although i have the Warhammer/Gladius and Kotesui.

Yeah, I went after Raithwall too. I was successful, but I was around lvl 50. You aren't far enough to get Fireshields, but you probably know that. Although, I remember getting ONE before they went on sale, so it might be a Hunt Reward. Check the guide, I'm at school right now, otherwise, I'd be all over this in a more competent manner :D

Only concurrences affect all enemies in range. The quickenings themselves only target the enemy that you select before they trigger. The concurrences increase in strength as you go further down the list in this (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showpost.php?p=716533&postcount=13) post (increasing in strength from Inferno to Blackhole.) So try for the strongest one you can.

1000 Needles is available from the Merchant in the Babbling Vale section of Mosphoran.

When you first get Needles it is useful because most people won't hit over a 1000 at that time later its useful as a Long range attack that costs Zero Mp and finally if you need to lower the enemies health for Poaching later on since by the end Some enemies you will kill in one hit. Limited use really.

Because I forgot to pick it up when I went into Mosphoran for my Thief's Cuffs pre-Omisace, and again when I went through there in the story, I actually had Sagittarius and Yoichi's bow for flying enemies, before I ever got it XD

But using it to lower enemy HP to critical is a good idea, Reva, since Gravity can actually kill enemies in XII.<--Has this been confirmed or am I just flat out crazy?

It can but there is something special for it like Graviga or something that can I really don't know I never messed with Gravity for the most part since I normally conserve Mp for Better magics and Healing. But I do know that yes Zermous or whatever he is called the Gravity Esper can kill with his Gravity special.

You can also steal them from Grimalkin in Tchita Uplands, if you haven't killed him as part of the Hunt Club side-quest yet.

I'm very sure that items highlighted on the second page of bestiary entries are their monograph drops. Is this the case with Ose?

Reclaim the ability you gave up earlier (magicks, technicks, the mini-map, whichever you picked) by touching the corresponding pillar, then use the lift to go to the next floor.

I'm trying to get the Embroidered Tippet which i know you can get from stealing from a Coeurls in the Tchita Uplands and also buying it on Archades. I need (or really want) to get 3 of my 'unused' characters up to the levels i have with the other 3. I have the Zodiac Spear and Deathbringers and am pretty capable of killing alot of creatures from what i can tell, however i want to get a few of these to boost my EXP. Trouble is i don't really know where i am going, can anybody guide me?

Storyline wise i'm about to go so Stilshrine Of Miriam.

First you are not very close to getting the Tippet so hold off on it. When you do get it go to the Last Monster heavy area Like the Caverns or so switch in one or two Characters you want to beef Kill the Monsters with your regular Party Character then when the Characters are Leveled to your desire switch them out for the Next group simiple as that. I suggest you have a consant Party leader Like it was Vaan for me Penelo for K- always be in the Party while the Exp may not Level him or her it helps because you are familar with everything He or she can do it will help in the long run espically with Team equal leveling.

I personally went with Ashe, Vaan, Fran and only leveled the others to get the Sky firgure Ashe for Average level 50 and I had no problems for the Most part. Only Team killers like Zodiark with his special random kill gave me really any trouble.

Fair enough, i do have them all near each other now but would like to be a little higher as i didn't level up at the beginning. It's taken me ages to level up.

Well you are not too far off from them PSA I mean you are close where you run into the Coeurls. You have maybe 2 hours or so maybe a bit more or less depending on how fast you go through the areas to uplands but you are nearly there.
I don't know if you can steal from Coeurls the Tippet but it really doesn't matter since VERY shortly after you run into the Coeurls you get acess to Archadia.
You just have a bit more to go is all.

Need to get them soon, i'm beginning to run out of gil now after buying up new Magicks etc!

I'm pretty sure that isn't Ktjn upstairs. She will be downstairs, dead ahead between the two staircases, sparring when you're ready to get your item. You have wait another "round" of time after the last question (#4). So just move on with the story for another main event and come back.

Reva is right, it is going to be a while before you can buy them. However, there is a chest in the Bubbling Vale section of Mosphoran that has them. However, you have to move through Mosphoran to Salikawood and have the moogles fix the gate. After this is done, you can activate the Wind Shrines in Bubbling Vale. BeneHaElohim posted the strategy for those in this thread a while ago, just search for it. When you open the path from the highreaches of Mosphoran to Bubbling Vale you'll have access to that chest.

I'll be glad to give you more detailed info once you activate the wind shrines.

There are some things in the guide that you can get that certainly are not adding up for me. There is supposed to be a Weathered Rock in Babbling Vale in Mosphoran Highwaste. I've looked all over the area its supposed to be, but i'll be damned if it's there. Supposed to open up another area.

Not weathered Rock Weathered RUIN. Those Springs near where the Save point is the where the guys say they get their water from? Go up to those and press X and it should ask you to touch the Spring when you do the water will steam and a bunch of Plant balloons will float up you have to do a ceratin order in order to get to the top for the esper as for the Tippet if I picked it up I don't rememeber where it was sorry.

It IS the Weathered Rock, actually. But you don't need it to get to the chest with the Tippet. ^^

The treasure chest with the Embroidered Tippet IS in the Babbling Vale, but you have to raise the floatweed of the Shrine of the South Wind first. Then ride the chocobo (found in the north-west area) to the next area (Empyrean Way), and cross a path only accesible by chocobos somewhere to the west. You'll end at the Skyreach Bridge and from there you can enter the part of the Babbling Vale where the chest (and your Weathered Rock) can be found.

The treasure chest has a 50% chance of appearing. If it isn't there, move away three areas and then go back and try again.

The Shrines are all in the Babbling Vale. When you walk up to a Shrine you can activate (not all of them work), the (X) button plus the name of the Shrine will appear.
But like someone else already said, you have to pass the Salikawood first. If the Craftsmoogles are at the Babbling Vale, you should be able to get them to work. :)

I think Pimped might be talking about how he doesn't remember them in Tactics. It has been a long time for me as well, so I can't recall if they are in Tactics or not. Reva will know. I remember in the beginning of Tactics Advance Marche calls a Bangaa a lizard and Montblanc has to cover for him rather hastily :D

Yeah, all right, I've actually been playing a bit of Tactics Advance myself and that's what I was thinking of. I'm actually not much further than that scene, but I definitely plan to play some more of it soon.

Well to answer the question Bangaa only show up in Tactics Advanced Same goes for all races not human that are seen in FFXII. FFT is the origin for a lot of the Monster concepts like Fighting Chocobos as true enemies that you can kill not just a special fight like FFVII. As well as some of the planning of Spells areas are from it nearly all Espers where Lucavi Demons that were bosses though all they share mostly is the Name and Zodiac symbol with an exception here or there. Belias, Hasmal, Adrammelech, Cuchulainn, Zalera, Ultima, and Zodiark all are bosses you fight with either a different Name or character sprite Zodiark was in FFT a Big Golemish creature with a Snake for his Right arm that acted like a Scarf around his neck as well as a Different Name.

FFT and FFTA are the base for a Lot of the things we see in FFXII like Mont blanc for example as well as the Judges(Which in FFTA you can get one to join you) as well as the idea for hunts. A lot of stuff for FFT and FFTA veterans is going to be OH I rememeber that!

Hey guys. Quick question. Im on the hunt for the Behermoth King. I have cleared both required areas and have come across the Mandragoras weird things that i fought in the Sochen Cave Pallace. Problem is, ive killed all of them apart from the Alraune King and the Onion Queen. No matter what i do i just cant hurt them. I hit them i do 0 damage, i cast magic on them it does 0 damage. How the hell am i ment to kill them? Its drivin me nuts. And its a little embarassing seen as i just killed Hell wyrm, Fafnir and that massive dinasaur thing outside the Pharos.

I think it is a glitch or they cast enough Stat magic that it nullifies your attacks cast Dispel then if still doesn't work get out and try again. I had no problem with it other then the large amount of kills I had to do with little to work with the whole 15 kills to complete second page thing.

ah shit. yea ive already tried dispell and it was havin none of it. just done a quickening chain on it n it was quite pitifull as well. only around 9000 damage n then they ran off n healed themselfs lol. looks like im gona have to start all over then.

No not only Hellwyrm several other Monsters and bosses use it but it is a monster only ability sorry I know how that could have helped so much aganist some bosses COUGHyizmatCOUGH.

Though there is an Arcane magic that reverses the effects of Spells Tech etc if it normally hurts it will heal if it heals it will hurt. The spell can be bought in Phon coast and the Murthu bazaar clan provider. Also Rabanastre but I think that it is avabile after Phon coast.

Ok another question. Just got a masurmane and Genji gloves thanks to Gilgamesh. But where abouts on the licence board are the Genji gloves? i have every accessory either unlocked or visable and there not there. Where are they? :S

Oddly enough they are with the rest of the Genji Armor in the lower portion of the grid. Top right, to be exact. All 4 pieces are tied to the same license.

Far upper right corner of the armor section in the lower part known as the equipment half of the Lp board. Look for a quickening tile in that area there should be nothing around it except to the left of that very quickening that is the tile. If you are still confused browse in Gamefaqs they have faqs on the Lp board that will help you out. Also if you can get all the Equipment from Gilgamesh steal from him each time he has a new scene like where he pulls out a new sword or says something different you can get the complete set that way THE only way to get it without codes.

No you can get a few Masamunes one for the Gilgamesh fight and the other from Bazaar sell 2 gemsteels 3 orichalcums and 2 Mallets. Masamune has 93 attack while Muramasa has 84. Muramasa can be stolen from rare monsters Cyrpt bunny and Avenger also a treasure in pharos.

So, I've been trying to get a Yagyu Darkblade from Bombshell in Lhusu. Now, you can chain him, but it is quite involved and it's still difficult to me at lvl 67(P)/56. Have any of you guys been chaining to get the following?:

Grand Armor from Helvinek
Grand Helm from Tower
Danjuro from Larva Eater

I'm thinking the best idea is just to put off doing it til everyone is 99. I could pull it off with Bombshell but it's pretty nervewracking, and I can only chain him to maybe 8 or 9, cause my MP craps out on me eventually.


Looky what I found (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRthG4P49Rc). One of the posts says that it doesn't work with Bombshell, but even if it doesn't he can be chained, as I originally said. Should just be a matter of having good enough armor to survive Aeronite strikes and enough MP to chain enough of them. Also, you have to ride the cart to reset your chances of getting Bombshell to appear.

Another random question. Went to the clan shop the other day to see if i could buy a bubble belt. They were there so i thought right il buy them later i wana kill this hunt first, went back a few hunts later and now there nto availiable anymore :S DO they disapear from the shop if you go over a certain rank? I hope not, i wanted them lol

i think you might have gained clan rank while doing those hunts, got new items and didn't see that there was more than one menu while at the shop

Yeah, they don't disappear, it's simply in another menu now. Just toggle the menu.

You'll have to ask Reva or Agent if they come back, but I do know that they do disappear as you said. You can synthesize at least one in the Bazaar though:

Well i found the box in the great crysstal. First thing i got was a sages ring and now whenever i try and get more items (ie the bloody excalipur) i just get gil. Does that mean i cant get excalibur now cuw i got the sages ring? Or is it just a case of keep trying?

I never once noticed bubble belts dissapeering from the bazaar shop when i was doing the hunts, ive seen them their everytime after they first appeared, and i did visit the shop inbetween hunts looking for other items, Same with cat ear hood and Nihopalaoa.

You can get a bubble belt for doing the Antlion hunt in Lhusu, but I suppose you knew that.

I may have done something really stupid. Twice.

1.) I was trying to do the 'Patient in the Desert' sidequest and found that I need the Great Serpentskin to give to Dantro's wife. I am fairly certain that I sold it after I acquired from the Nidhogg hunt in the Lhusu Mines. According to the guide, there's no other monster that drops a Great Serpentskin. Is that true?

2.) I got all three medallions for the Nabreus' Medal sidequest. I needed to level up a little more and improve my equipment before going in for the big battles, so I went elsewhere to fight. After levelling up adequately, I went to sell my loot. I wasn't watching what I was selling as carefully as I should have been, I think. Do the medallions go into your inventory as key items, or just regular loot? Because I don't see them anywhere.

Let me know if I've completely screwed this up. TIA.

#1-you dont absolutely need the serpentskin to pass the quest,without it you just get a lower reward.

#2-they are key items,so dont worry about selling them.

So, I notice that the smaller merchants get some pretty exclusive items at some point in the game. For example, the one in South Bank village sells Diamond Armlets and the one in Barhiem sells Hermes sandles. One of the ones in Lowtown seems to get some too.

Does this happen after you climb the Pharos?

for the items im pretty sure the merchants sell them once you reach port of baph. But the good magic isnt available till after pharos.(the merchant in barheim passage sells ardor i think?)

I'm pretty sure that renew can only be gotten after the pharos too, it's at the area in the westersand that leads into the ogir-yensa sandsea(thats the first one right?)

I'll go on another tour, but I'm pretty sure I checked the shops after I finished Draklor (i.e., after I reached Balfonheim). I'll report back.

From the hidden Baknami merchant in the Necrohol, after you've cleared the Feywood. Until then he only sells Ethers. There is a map of the Necrohol in this thread, I'll go grab it. See if I can direct you directly to him.

Eskir Berries, Eskir Berries, Eskir Berries. If he didn't pick them up before the fight, let me know and I'll type out the procedure. I don't think you can miss the event. They take off a large chunk of the Garuda's HP. After that whittle him down as best you can and then do the 4 Quickening chain procedure. Bust one out, swap in one new member, bust another, rinse, repeat.

I used the berries on him and they missed. So I had to resort to changing gambits to Lightning/Fire/Blizzard - Flying
Plus, Vossler's telekenisis is a miracle worker.

I never thought far enoug to use the berries. The quickenings are what got me through this. I think I was a bit overleveled tough...
But back on track, the quickenings is the only tips I got.

Magic go all out there is a save cyrstal right after and a Merchant so you can restock with out a problem. Also spread your guys out a bit the more space the less likely he is to kill you also leveling up helps there is a save cyrstal south west at the very bottom so you can save there then go back and forth killing everything to level up a few levels I suggest level 25 or 23 so you can beat the demon wall 1st easily just a short bit after the bird.

Sorry I have been gone little internet acess and stoned on the post-op drugs plus just plain headaches as well kept me off.

I myself haven't even heard of these berries.

Okay about half way in the sandsea you will see a Moogle talking to one of the sandsea bandits sorry forget their name right now the bandit will run off and the moogle will tell you about a [Insert bandits race name here] eater you will see in the next screen the eater attacking some of the bandits let the eater kill the bandits both to save you trouble and to whittle its Hp a little then kill it. Go back to the moogle you will again see a bandit run off talk to the Moogle and it will tell you about a reward track down the bandit and there will be the Berries.

I personally haven't done this so I can't explain it better sorry but that is the basics. Also to help hit the bird use the berries with someone who has a Long range weapon they have a better chance to hit.

The hunt for the Urutan Eater is part of the plot, I believe, so just head to the Sandscale Bank area with the regular save crystal and talk to the Moogle. He sends you back into Ogir-Yensa (just head East one screen). Head up the ramp and an event will trigger in which the Urutan who commissioned your help with be punished by the leader of the Urutans. After this you will be able to pick the berries from a plant in the Sandscale Bank area (same place with the crystal).

Yea, and the berries will keep respawning every now and then. I'm not sure if you have to move a certain number of screens away or something but they do respawn.

Eksir berries dont take off that much hp but they lower Garuda's attack and defence power slightly, so if you use more than one, you can greatly increase your chances.

Keeping Vossler alive is another tip as his Telekinesis tecknick will allow him to deal normal damage to flying enemies with his non-ranged weapon.

Next, equip your characters with ranged weapons if possible, as they will do more damage than magick and you don't use your mp.

Finally, use flying>water or flying>thunder gambits for the characters that can't wield ranged weapons. If they havent got the licences for those magicks, make sure they're on standby with potions and cure.

They're the only tips I advise, in that order. Quickenings, maybe, but I didn't have any at that point and I was overlevelled, so I dont expect anybody to have enough quickenings enabled to get a decent chain going.

Cast Blind on Garuda to make the fight a piece of cake.

Maybe, maybe not. I can't recall if he runs away BEFORE you fight the Urutan Eater as well. Check your bestiary, if you have an Emeralditan in it, then you've fought him.

You go to that screen with the moogle, and he runs away. YOu then speak to the moogle who tells you about the urutan eater and the treasure. You then go and kill the urutan eater and return to the moogle. You'll see the urutan run away again but the other way. Follow him into the next screen until you see a cutscene then go back to the moogle. Watch the cutscene and you'll have your berries.

I agree to some points.
But wouldn't it be easyer for someone to search for a tread about a certain topic, than to look through this long one? I mean, it's 27 pages long and still growing.

I read 40 page long threads as a matter of course so I don't see the problem. As for people searching for it they wouldn't we once had 4 or 5 threads made to ask basically the same question on why So and so character had silence and the player couldn't get it off no matter what they did. And all it was is the Dawn Shard accessory which was responsible for it take it off and it goes away. But people didn't look they don't even attempt to so they make those threads.

By the way we should sticky this thread to the top page to prevent it from being buried by accident.(Hint Hint Mods)

To further example just how bad it can be there are a few FFXII hate threads we had one person make one of them then he came across to a thread that had been created a few days before and had been in the top of the page during that time and told people the same message and that they shouild go to HIS thread to discuss it. That is how bad some of this BS can get. And the far worse bit is when someone Necro post a thread that has been dead for a long time the longest I have seen was a thread in this very area where someone posted in a thread where the last post was 3 years and some odd months ago.

Thats why a Q&A thread where we can direct people to and close down the BS threads that all ask the same question is better prevents aggression on the more older Shriners and still lets the younger ones ask their questions without being ripped apart.

No but you can earn them and make them in the Bazaar through various means. The Bazaar formula is 3 Ambrosia, 3 Demon drink, 1 High arcana. It will be under the name Saint's draught. I don't know which Monsters carry this been along time since I have played.

You can also go to Pharos where there are monsters known as Magick Pots while you have to give the Monster an Elixir ro start with you can steal one back and also when you kill it it may drop another Elixir or even a Megaelixir. Also VERY good LP.

The cutscene makes it extremely obvious you have to pick the berries from the plant, I assume anybody who watched it would know to pick them. I didnt realise I had to be quite so specific.

im stuck on a boss and i was wondering where i could get teleport stones to go soemwhere else and train

Norwigi: 13,180LP and then 1705LP for the 13 Espers.

Oysterhead: You need to give us ALOT more info. Who is the boss? Where are you? What is your clan rank?

Tell us where you are and we can tell you if a monster near you drops them.
The stones are sold in the Clan store in Muthru Bazaar based on your rank, and are also sold on the airships when you travel by Liesure Craft.

Let me know something more specific and I'll gladly help you out.

Thanks Knegative. It doesn't sound that much, but I still got WAY to go...

They are sold by a merchant near the exit of Reddas's port city I forget its name too used to saying port.

So good places to train are the Caverns which have already been talked about they are in the Western sands as far west as you can go. Good Exp and Lp for awhile as well as an esper is there.

Another good place is Giruvegan first level easy to get in and out plenty of monsters and some rare drops to help with Bazaar items.

Nabudis Deadlands and the Necrohol are also very good but be VERY careful since in the necrohol its easy to get murdered for awhile until you are like level 50-60 then it starts becoming easy. It is located in Salikwoods first beat Bomb King then if going to Necrohol go left on the Y split if going to Deadlands go right. Deadlands and Necrohol are connected to each other. Good Lp and Exp plenty of rare drops, An esper, as well as the much wanted Zodiac spear though speacial requirments discussed to death needed.

Finally THE best places to train is Henne mine Locked area. Level 70 IS A MUST! It is in Henne Mine go to where you found Fran's sister using the Cyrstal and go to the right of where you came in. The exp and Lp are good plenty of Monster fights espically in the last area where each monster you kill has a good chance of becoming a ghost. If you missed it in Necrohol You can get the Zodiac spear here as well but the chances are LOW, There is THE most powerful Esper Zodiark and you have a tough fight on your hand no matter the level.

Those are some of the best areas each becomes avabile after: Caverns-Raithwall, Giruvegan-Plot point, Nabudis and Necrohol-Salikwoods after you kill Bomb king, Henne mine Locked section-12 Espers in your possesion and finished all Gariff hunts talk to geomancer to get it opened.

The scary part is I had full boards by the time I reached Golmore for the first time. If you don't already have them, get yourself 6 Golden Amulets. Party members not currently in the party still get LP! I can't remember exactly where you get them but Mt. Bur-Omisace is springing to mind.

You can get them and Theif's Cuffs early if you do the Patient in the Desert sidequest, or the July the Streetear one. Those can be completed right after Raithwall. If you need details on those, let me know.

well the boss im stuck on is named Tiamat and im in the old cave place. i still cant find a teleport stone

As far as I remember, I walked back to Ozmone Plain and did some leveling there. And for the teleportstones, I think you may have to walk all the way back to Rabanastre.

But you should be able to get back there rather fast with a chocobo.

As far as I know you can just backtrack out of Henne Mines. Unless you mean you couldn't handle another onslaught of Jellys. Actually you can chain the Jellys to get a teleport stone. Just head back to Pithead Junction B and have at it, if you can handle that.

Tryin to get the hunt trophies and 2 particulars are irritating me.

1. Is 07 Kaiser Wolf. I think you have to beat Lindbur Wolf before Kaiser shows but I can't seem to get any of them to appear.

2. Is 42 Anubys. In Sochen Cave I was supposed to walk around in another circle like for the Hell Wyrm... but Im not too sure exactly how. Is it supposed to be a clockwise march from Destiny's March->Falls of Time->Mirror of the Soul? I'm not sure, if you guys know could ya help me out?

Do you mean Wendice? You just have to defeat all the enemies in the outer rooms, then head into the center and he'll be there.

EDIT: Alright, chain wolves in the Galtea Downs area, though it shouldn't matter where you chain them. A 20-chain is good enough. Then exit to the secluded section of Shimmering Horizons via the southernmost exit in Galtea Downs. Lindbur will be there. After taking him out, head up into the Corridor of sand. Kaiser will be in the south east corner, at the bottom of the ridge, near the Earth Tyrant's den.

Kaiser Wolf - Defeat Linbur wolf in the Westersand, then go to the Corridor of Sand before you leave the Westersand.

Anubys - Yep, Kneg's right, once you've solved the puzzle, go back there.

Let me see if I can hunt down a map, it's pretty involved.

Starting from the top room, you have to walk in clockwise circles, but dont go down the same path twice. If you use your location map, you'll see where the waterfall is, there are 5 paths to cross it. Start from the room at the top, move to the right to the far path and go in a clokwise motion back to the room, then do it again with the next path in on either side, then finally do the last path and you'll get into the room. Each time you enter the area with the waterfall, a note should come up saying that the path of the waterfall has changed.

If it's not too late, make sure you keep trying that chest til you get the Iga Blade. It doesn't respawn and it's the only place (currently known) that you can get it.

Btw, does anybody know what the battle speed in the config actually does? My first play through it was normal and on my second now it is fast, but I havent noticed the difference. Could someone explain what it does because I cant say I've noticed a change.

It speeds up the pace of the battle slightly, if your playing it on the fastest setting, try putting it on the slowest setting and see the difference. Check how fast your attack bar fills on both settings, their is a big difference in speed, at least i think their is.

I thought it was that, but its not much difference to normal. Berserk and Haste with the speed licences seems extremely fast though, but it was always going to be.

Blimey it does, i tried it on slow and it is a lot slower.

I need two more high arcana in order to get the tournesol... but now when I try and steal from the various espers in the game, all I can take from them are the zodiac gems??? Just wondering why im not able to steal high arcana from them....

I'm not sure, but I have been having the same experience of late. Doesn't really matter to me as I got my last two High Arcana's from Bombshell. You could just fight a non-hunt club rare game (that you have the proper monograph for) repeatedly. Chain them if you can.

There's unlimited high arcana's available from the bazaar, or at least they can ap0pear in the bazaar more than once. Not sure what you have to sell to get them.

Yeah you can definitely synth them, but that can be a pain. Fighting a rare repeatedly is sometimes easier than waiting around for Oversouls

Umm, lemme think. Off the top of my head you can chain the enemies that have the rare drops, that way you're killing two birds with one stone. However, that requires you to be a pretty high level.

So, try Nekhbet instead. Head to the Estersand, the screen before South Bank Village (Sandswept Naze). He's a cockatrice and he shows up after you kill all the cockatrices. Just make sure you are only killing cockatrices and the chain will get higher without having to just kill him everytime. Once you kill him, head into the Yardang Labyrinth and then into Giza Plains to reset the chances of him spawning. There's only a 20% chance of him spawning after you kill the other cockatrices but since your chain isn't based solely on him it shouldn't take you very long at all.

I've never chained him personally, so if it doesn't work, my apologies. Also, if it doesn't work post here telling us it didn't, so we know :D

Great way to get rare loots from foes who dont spawn quickly, but i think most rare game are immune to stone.

He did say that most rares are immune to stone, but barring that, yeah I think it would. I knew about petrifying to perserve chains, but I didn't know about getting Loot benefits from the petrified enemy.

Eh there''s a total of 31 rare games that you can only hunt once, because once you've killed them, they will never reapear. You know this, because these rare gamers, drop a trophy once you kill them.

Alright, so I tried that Cocatrice chain. He dropped a High arcana after a chain of about 50, and I was ecstatic.... but I continued to chain till 180 and he didnt drop it again haha. Bad luck on my part I guess. But yeah it worked very well, and I was finding that he appeared everytime that i re-entered the screen. Thanks for the tip!

When you're ready to make your Empyreal Souls and Serpentarius gems, just sell 1 Soul Powder, 2 Wargod's bands, 2 Serpent Eyes, and 4 Snake Skins. Then sell a High Arcana. You'll get one ES and one Serpentarius at the SAME TIME.

Then repeat that process 3 times. You're selling the item they share in common LAST each time so it counts for both of them.

Bummer. Well, depending on your level, why don't you give Bombshell a shot? He's on the Lasch Span of Lhusu mines. You might get lucky and get your Yagyu Darkblade and High Arcanas.

You're going to have to survive the attacks of the Aeronite's since you can't petrify them. Run back and forth across the span and once you've fought him, ride the cart to reset your encounter chances. Rinse and repeat. I'm going to do that at 99 before I take on Yiazmat, so I can hopefully get two Darkblades.

Otherwise, just synth them. If you've got the Canopic Jar, regular arcanas aren't a problem, and feystones are easy to get from Entites with Theif's cuffs. Waiting for Oversouls isn't as bad as I made it out to be. Just kill everything in sight and they'll find you. You'll level and get what you need.

No probs. Not many people know that. Its great if you;re just wandering around and encounter different mobs that would break your chain, not only do you keep your chain but you'll get some decent loot too. Great for those normal mobs that dont show up enough to get a decent chain of them.

How many time can i give run out on the Hell Wyrm to save? is there a limit because i've got it's health down too just under half, but i have to go out in a bit and i've already gone back to save once.

Topstalk is in the Feywood. Mandragora's are in the Phon Coast, not sure if you'll find the Mandragora Prince there, and I think there's Pumpkin Head's in Salikawood, but again I'm not sure if you'll find Pumpkin Star there.

ok to spawn these 5 annoying little monsters you must first defeat all the monsters in white magices embrace and ice filed of clearsight in the feywood
when you have done that go back to white magics embrace and you should find all five of them around one of the feywood glyphs
but heed this: beware of the behemoth king, if you have started the hunt for him he will appear right after you've taken out the five mandragoras in the icefield of clearsight and i think you might not be able to reface the mandragoras until you've taken care of him and he is one bad boy,

I know, just beat him now this very moment, took me 1 1/2 hours to do the second one! I've only just done Draklor! But I got my genji stuff so I'm happy.

I got hit with the lvl spells constantly. That's why I was switching in and out constantly. My characters were within one level of each other (except Penelo) but for some reason it was just enough variance that they were all getting hit with different ones.

The second fight did take a long time, but I was never down and out. Certainly an argument for keeping all your characters leveled evenly.

the exp is pathetic nd yh anoter reason for killing them is the very low chance of it dropping a megalixir but i indeed have no further use oif many items now as i have fuly completed this game i just like to help with my wisdom lmao

I went down there the second I got the key on the Phon Coast. That was when I realized I needed to dedicate a party member to healing. The real pain was fighting Disma for the Hunt Club down there. I almost never use ranged weapons and he was decimating me with Firaga. I lured him to a zone and struck hard, got killed, zoned, came back and repeated that for a good 15 minutes.

Alright, to get back on topic, here's a question:

What is Balthier saying during his quickenings? I can make out 'I'm starting to like this' and 'There's a proper way to do everything,' but what is this 'Wavoca"?

1. When you've accepted the hunt, kill all the mobs in the Ice Field of Clearsight and the Edge of Reason in the Feywood, including the mandragoras when they appear.

Yes, I can chain them quite high. You're just too low a level to handle them right now. They will be there when you're ready.

I'd say you'd have to be around 40-ish (thats what I was).

in the cockatrice side quest, how do get the one in rabanastre to stop running away?

never mind, i worked it out.

The elementals stay at about lv25b throughout the game, so even ones you encounter later will be easy once you get to the right level.

Same with entites, except they are around 40-45.

I'm now at Dreadnought Leviathan and my party's at level 22. Am I leveled enough?

Just about, your average I'd say. Besides, dont ask us, just play the game. If you're not levelled enough, you'll soon find out and you can just train then.

I have a couple of questions.

First, are bosses that use invert vulnerable to invert? I defeated Braegh (sp?) by using a Reflectga mote and laughing as it inverted itself. =) Can I do this with, say, Cuchulainn?

Second, I know that equipping a Firefly reduces EXP gained to zero. Does that character's lost EXP get transferred to the other party members or is it just lost?
