I like Joe plenty plenty and I feel the same about the match as Prak so I simply went the opposite way.

You know who I think went the opposite way? Your mother. As well as the mother's of the following ffshrine members: Mickrulz, Reality.Fantasy, Sharon Agathon, Ashuri, brzrkrBEAT.

Here's Joe at his pro-test:

After beating his opponent senseless, the referee tries to stop the fight, but Joe doesn't listen, so his opponent runs out of the ring screaming for help before Joe chases him down and delivers a final blow. Then Joe asks the ref to deliver the ten count.

This disqualifies Joe of course, but it makes him popular because the guy he beat was a popular amateur. Here is what happens when the media tries to ask him some questions about the pro-test:

Just so everyone knows, I forgot to update yesterday and don't want to disrupt the rest of the week by updating today. I'm leaving this open until tomorrow. I'll probably update it fairly early. Voting is still open on this one and will be until I make the update.

Roy Focker (Macross) - 7
Joe Yabuki (Ashita no Joe) - 4

Ruri Hoshino (Nadesico) - 5
Lum (Urusei Yatsura) - 4

In a split decision that is almost certain to be appealed, Joe is finally taken down. And Ruri won? That was unexpected.

Males:

Captain Harlock (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) - If there is a more recognizable or iconic character in any other anime, I have not seen it. He also probably holds the record for being parodied more than any other anime character.

VS

Kenshin Himura (Rurouni Kenshin) - A tried and true character template that never fails to win over a certain demographic, but will never be called original or influential in any sense.

Females:

Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun (Slayers) - I actually have a hard time judging Amelia's originality. While a lot of the character's principal traits are common, she gives off a vibe I just can't compare to anything that came before. Then again, maybe I'm crazy and she's a direct copy of something else.

VS

Mikuru Asahina (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - Too new to be influential and certainly not anything that hasn't been seen before.

Easy vote for Harlock and a rather painful vote for Amelia. I'd also like you all to know that I will become VERY cranky if Kenshin wins this.

ILOVEYOUALL! lol

and i doubt there is anyone in anime history who is the original of amelia who happens to be one who fights for love and justice and what is right and vanquishes evil and evil doers and who takes it so personally she climbs up to the highest place in order to proclaim it and ALL withouth transforming into something. she's just herself. :p

also she never really does any of that on a daily basis either and is just being all over dramatic which is funny.

Poor Mikuru. Poor Ndi for missing her chance to vote for Mikuru.

Males:

Jet Black (Cowboy Bebop) - Nothing here we haven't seen before. Not highly influential either, bit he is at least somewhat distinctive, although that's probably due more to exposure than the character's own merit.

VS

Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask/Prince Endymion/Darien (Sailor Moon) - On the other hand, here's one that's extremely distinctive, although many would say that it is not in a good way.

Females:

Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell) - Not an innovative concept, but still remarkably effectively executed. Little or no impact on the rest of the industry though.

VS

Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - Perhaps one of the few truly original characters in anime today. Not destined to be influential, but really fun to watch.

Easy votes for Mamoru and Haruhi here, although I do fear for my life when a certain someone sees them.

Another Bebop character goes down and the poor Haruhi crew is totally wiped out (Damn you, Gina!). Don't be surprised if we see one or more of them back in the wild card round though!

Males:

Clef (Magic Knight Rayearth) - Uninteresting, unoriginal, and unimportant in every possible regard.

VS

Ryoga Hibiki (Ranma 1/2) - Gotta give credit where it's due. I have never seen another character that Ryoga reminds me of. Even more rarely, I mean that in a good way.

Females:

Lalah Sun (Gundam) - Not original or a particularly interesting character in her own right, but she made one hell of a plot device.

Poor Lalah. :(

Males:

Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) - Not a particularly original character in any sense of the word, but well-presented enough for it to not matter much. Highly recognizable, but that's mostly due to wide exposure.

VS

Tochiro Oyama (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) - Fairly stereotypical eccentric genius, but a bit more badass. He was probably fairly original back in the 1970s, and remains highly distinctive even now.

Females:

Seras Victoria (Hellsing) - Definitely interesting. Possibly unique. Not much more need be said.

VS

Sumomo (Chobits) - Typical mascot character. Not much more need be said.

I can definitely see battle lines being drawn. Fans of the classics VS newer anime fans who don't give a shit about older shows. Unfortunately, it looks like there just aren't enough of us classics fans to go all the way.

Males:

Alucard (Hellsing) - Vampires are hardly a new concept to anime, but he still manages to be distinctive. Pretty impressive.

VS

Vegeta (Dragonball) - Though his personality is a bit stock, not many anime characters are half as easily recognizable.

Females:

Tomoyo Daidouji (Cardcaptor Sakura) - Not much to say here. Fairly typical sidekick character.

VS

Haruko Haruhara (FLCL) - About as unique as a character can be. Plenty of fun to watch also.

I was considering giving pity votes to the underdogs, but there's really no sense in it. Alucard and Haruko.

While I'm thinking about it:

Anyone who didn't give me their wild card nominations just lost them. At this point, it's free for all until they're full. When you vote (or after if you voted before this post) name another character you'd like to see thrown into the mix in the next round. From this point, characters that have already been eliminated may not be nominated, although the people who got their wild cards in on time were able to resurrect them.

Males:

Louie (Louie the Rune Soldier) - If there's another anime wizard out there who'd rather throw a punch at a goblin than roast it with a fireball, I've never seen it. Big points for originality.

VS

Leo/Kimba (Jungle Emperor Leo/Kimba the White Lion) - Interesting concept in its day, but this poor lion will now be forever marred by the memory of its clone in The Lion King.

Females:

Misuzu Kamio (Air) - Fairly original concept, but the personality is mostly stock, save for a unique quirk or two. Pretty good character overall.

Male:

Harry MacDowell (Gungrave) - Definitely a rarity among anime villains. The depth of his characterization is impressive by most any standards. He even has that air of being rotten to the bone, yet still being likeable enough to cheer for as he climbs the ladder, just like the "heroes" in the really great mafia movies.

VS

Ryuho (Scryed) - Not really much to note here. "Justice... I'm powerful... kick your ass... blah blah blah." He's not even particularly entertaining. Just a straight man for better characters.

Females:

Chii (Chobits) - Not an original concept or execution, but HOLY CRAP @ the overwhelming cuteness.

VS

Tetsuo Shima (Akira) - Not really anything new, special, or particularly interesting here unless you count the fact that he turns into a giant blob.

Females:

wait wut?

so your telling me that you've seen at least half a dozen anime's which feature a character who is sick of being second best/always protected and when the opportunity arises for them to become more powerful than everyone else they take it and somewhat become evil and....ok yah your right. tetsuo isn't unique. lol

i just had to type it all out to realize it. :p

but feel free to give examples though cause in my head i only remember faces but not names. i think that one dude from berzerk is one. he turned into a demon after being tortured and did it with a girl in front of his old friend who he beat up i think... so ownage. :p

Rotten turnout for this match, and not at all a good way to start Round 4.

Round 4 is the Wild Card round. One extra character has been inserted into each match as a third choice. You can still only pick one. Remember that Wild Card characters automatically lose tiebreakers.

Males:

Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) - He's had it easy so far. The first two rounds were cake walks and Tochiro just didn't have the mainstream exposure to compete. This time, however, will be his first real trial by fire.

VS

Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask/Prince Endymion/Darien (Sailor Moon) - With his proven staying power, having defeated the likes of Goku and Jet Black, this dapper hero could very well push his way through to the quarterfinal round.

VS

Kyon (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - Wild card. Resurrected by Ndi. Poor guy had the bad luck of drawing a popular Fullmetal Alchemist character in round 2. Now he's back, and although Mustang is gone, he's looking to take it out of another FMA powerhouse.

Females:

Excel (Excel Saga) - Though she's been against lightweights until now, she's clung to an exceptional record and may prove to be a contender.

VS

Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell) - If any other character wants a shot at the title, this is the mountain in their path.

VS

Zefiris (Scrapped Princess) - Wild card. Nominated by Beat. This newcomer to the competition has no luck at all. The match has only just begun and she's already walking home.

The delay in updating actually turned this one around completely. If I had updated when I first thought about it, Mamoru and Excel would have won in tiebreakers.

Males:

Tetsuo Shima (Akira) - He's had a fairly easy ride so far and his record is spotty, so he's a big underdog this time. Don't count him out yet though.

VS

Zelgadis Greywords (Slayers) - Though he's battled against fairly strong names, his votes have been consistently high, giving him the edge in a tiebreaker.

VS

Arsene Lupin III (Lupin III) - Wild card resurrected by Tact. After being defeated by Char Aznable in round 2, he's back for another attempt. Unfortunately for him, the competition is much tougher now and he'll automatically lose if it comes to a tiebreaker. But at least he was lucky enough to not come up against Char again.

Females:

Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop) - So far, she's been unstoppable, handily defeating every obstacle in her path. Now, however, she faces an opponent just as proven as herself. On the other hand, she has an ever-so-slight (1%) tiebreaker advantage, so the trump card is in her hands.

VS

Ruri Hoshino (Nadesico) - Definitely one of the stronger contenders in the female category, she's smashed through several tough opponents. Her cute factor may give her an advantage here, but the fact that her excellent tiebreaker score is useless hurts a bit.

VS

Hazuki (Tsukuyomi Moon Phase) - Wild card nominated by Ndi. Perhaps a tough competitor under different circumstances, she got as bad a draw as Zefiris did last time. Still, I'm sure Ndi will play dirty to garner votes for her, so she might just have a chance.

My votes go to Zelgadis and Ruri. Better to vote for Ruri than get torn between the ones Gina and Ndi support.

Males:

Harry MacDowell (Gungrave) - He's been a force to be reckoned with so far, but now he faces his first truly daunting challenge. He brings with him a huge tiebreaker advantage, but the tough competition ahead may leave him so far in the dust that it doesn't matter.

VS

Char Aznable (Gundam) - This juggernaut has smashed his way through difficult opponents, proving his ability to gather votes. However, both of his opponents this time are tough and the tight competitions of the past have crippled his record. A tie with Harry would result in a loss for the Zeon hero.

VS

Golgo 13 (Golgo 13) - Wild card resurrected by Ktulu. After suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of Kenshin Himura, he's been brought back for another round. Now he's pitted against two other high-profile anti-heroes. Perhaps this is preferable for him though.

Females:

Misuzu Kamio (Air) - Though she's one of the top ladies in the competition, she's also never been tested against the best. It doesn't look like it's happening this time either. Ndi's support has helped push her along in the past, but she might be torn this time.

VS

Sophie Hatter (Howl's Moving Castle) - Who could have guessed such a simple character would go so far? Still, the Little Underdog That Could may be in over her head this time.

VS

Nabiki Tendo (Ranma 1/2) - Wild Card nominated by Tyki Mikk. Again, this one is already walking. I see no hope of victory. Who knows though? We could always see an upset.

I know this update is late, but I'm planning to update on schedule tomorrow. That means this one will be short, so vote while you can.

What a shocking outcome! After a tough fight, Golgo goes down yet again and Char gets massacred. And who could ever have predicted that Misuzu would be totally shut out or that Nabiki would actually pull off the upset?

Males:

Walter C. Dornez (Hellsing) - While he's certainly one of the strongest competitors, he might have a tough fight on his hands this time. All odds, however, seem to be firmly in his favor.

VS

Piccolo (Dragonball) - Though he's been unstoppable to this point, he now faces a deadly hurdle. His supporters will have to pull out all the stops to keep him in the running.

VS

Gon Freecss (Hunter x Hunter) - Wild card nominated by Tyki Mikk. Hello. Nice to meet you. Goodbye.

Females:

Chii (Chobits) - Boasting the highest vote percentage of any character in the rumble, it's hard to imagine Chii losing, even against a character as notable as Sakura.

VS

Sakura Kinomoto (Cardcaptor Sakura) - She's handily squashed every obstacle in her way so far, but now she faces a new challenge altogether: another CLAMP character. And frankly, it doesn't look good for her. Still, she has a way of bringing in votes from people who don't usually vote, so it could swing her way.

VS

Clare (Claymore) - Yet another wild card nominated by Tyki Mikk. And like Gon, this one doesn't have a chance.

You have to respect the initiative Mikk showed while the nominations were open, but the characters he chose just aren't very competitive at this level.

Hm, several key votes from past rounds with Hellsing characters came up missing this time. Moving right along...

Males:

Inspector Zenigata (Lupin III) - Having crushed both revered characters of ages current and past, he's established himself as a dominating force in the competition. This round introduces a couple of new challenges, but the odds favor him.

VS

Louie (Louie the Rune Soldier) - Though he's plowed through this far, his previous opponents have all been second-stringers. This will be his real trial, and if he survives this round, he'll certainly be considered a contender for the final victory.

VS

Alexander Anderson (Hellsing) - Wild card nominated by Tact. While most of the newcomers in this round and fated to die off fast, this one might actually have a shot at progressing. However, with part of the Hellsing fanbase missing and about half of it divided, he's in for a tough fight.

Females:

Haruko Haruhara (FLCL) - Though she still hasn't been properly tested, her extremely high vote percentage implies good odds, as well as victory in a tiebreaker.

VS

Edward "Ed" Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky 4th (Cowboy Bebop) - After taking down two beloved classic characters, there can be little doubt that she has a chance, but she's up against two other modern characters now and will be fighting for the votes of people who've always supported her before.

VS

Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - Wild card resurrected by Prak. After losing in a tiebreaker to the major, she's back for revenge. She's up against tough opponents this time, but she's shown that she can hold her own.

Though it pains me to do so, I'm giving my male vote to Louie. It's a no-brainer for Haruhi though, partly because it was my nomination and partly because I figure she's the best of the three.

A ridiculously close battle on the male side closes with a tiebreaker.

Zenigata - 17/26 = 65.38%
Louie - 16/22 = 72.73%

Louie scrapes through to the next round along with the newly-resurrected Haruhi.

Males:

Ranma Saotome (Ranma 1/2) - An unstoppable juggernaut who would be a favorite against most other opponents. Roy, however, has been just as powerful.

VS

Roy Focker (Macross) - His record is comparable to Ranma's (though he would lose in a tie between them), but he's had far easier opponents, making him a little bit of an underdog this time, statistically speaking.

VS

Jubei Kibagami (Ninja Scroll) - Wild card from reserve list. While I respect Mikk's initiative, his picks just aren't (with one exception) adding anything. After seeing two of them get shut out, I figure something bigger is needed, and it was almost a crime that Jubei got missed on the original list. What's more, he might even have a chance of winning.

Females:

Yohko Mano (Devil Hunter Yohko) - With a barely passing record, she doesn't seem like much of a threat at this level. And against competition this stiff, I think it's time to say goodbye.

VS

Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun (Slayers) - A moderate powerhouse with some significant victories under her belt. Definitely the favorite to win this time, although probably not by a big margin.

VS

Emeraldas (Ktulu) - Wild card resurrected by Ktulu. In a first round filled with junk characters, she had the rotten luck of drawing one from Cowboy Bebop. Maybe the odds will be a little better for her this time.

You guys just can't let my predictions be right, can you? Someone could have voted for Jubei just so I wouldn't have egg on my face, you know. Also, Amelia being squashed is pretty surprising.

Males:

Alucard (Hellsing) - Though he's one of the true titans in the competition, he's oddly well-matched this time. Space Butler is an unknown and probably not much of a threat, but Ryoga is not to be underestimated.

VS

Ryoga Hibiki (Ranma 1/2) - Possessing the single best voting record of any character in the rumble, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him tackle Alucard. However, it should be noted that all his opponents have been relatively weak, so this could easily go either way.

VS

Space Butler (Excel Saga) - Wild card nominated by Beat. While certainly an interesting idea, I don't think a guy with less than 5 minutes of total screen time is going to do well.

Females:

Lafiel (Crest/Banner of the Stars) - A moderately strong contender, but her chances at this level are questionable. On the other hand, this just might be her time to really shine, although her limited exposure hinders that possibility.

VS

Naga (Slayers) - Definitely a force to be reckoned with, but being pitted against two conflicting archetypes may be more than she can handle. Or she might mop up.

VS

Usagi Tsukino/Serena/Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon) - Wild card resurrected by Ndi. Unlike her counterpart in the male rumble, it would be foolish to consider her an underdog. This is anyone's game.

It's no shock seeing Alucard carry through, but I never figured Usagi would win by that huge a margin.

Males:

Captain Harlock (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) - This will probably be an interesting match, but it's possible that Harlock's superior baddassery will give him the edge he needs to see the next round.

VS

Amuro Ray (Gundam) - On the other hand, Amuro's western exposure is greater. Overall, I'd say Harlock probably has the edge, but I'm not particularly confident about that assessment.

VS

Tochiro Oyama (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) - Wild card resurrected by yours truly. This might just be the worst draw imaginable for poor Tochiro.

Females:

Kei Yuki (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) - In a battle of similar character types, a lesser known classic character is always at a disadvantage. Still, don't count her out yet.

VS

Seras Victoria (Hellsing) - Two badass female sidekicks to even more badass male leads. Only one spot in the next round. Seras is almost certainly the favorite to win this one, but there's always room for doubt.

VS

Ahiru/Duck (Princess Tutu) - Wild card nominated by Tact. Definitely an interesting idea for a character, but a terrible time for it to be introduced. I expect this one to be roundly trounced.

I honestly cannot imagine a more painful round for me. After much deliberation though, my votes are going to Tochiro and Kei.

This brings us to the quarterfinal round. At this point, there's no such thing as a weak character.

Males:

Harry MacDowell (Gungrave) - Hobbies include cooking up nefarious schemes, planning foul deeds, plotting the deaths of all who stand above him on the ladder of success, karaoke, and knitting.

VS

Ranma Saotome (Ranma 1/2) - In an effort to hold on to his masculinity, he has taken to listening to "Macho Man" once every hour. Bad idea.

Females:

Seras Victoria (Hellsing) - Ever wonder why her boobs keep getting bigger? It's because all her blood keeps accumulating there, making them the anatomical equivalent of water balloons.

VS

Chii (Chobits) - I wonder if Hideki ever defragged her.

We're getting close to the end now. Just 7 matches to go!

Harry and Seras for me.

Interesting. Barretboy's votes wound up being decisive. No matter which way he voted in both categories, those characters would win. So Seras pushes through and Ranma comes from behind to win the tiebreaker.

Males:

Louie (Louie the Rune Soldier) - It really is pretty bad when a mage breaks his magic wand over a monster's head. It's even worse when that's more effective than him actually using magic.

VS

Captain Harlock (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) - Loves to cosplay in his free time. Many of his crew were scarred for life the first time they saw a power ranger walking around saying "Avast, ye scurvy dogs, afore I keelhaul the lot o' yeh."

Females:

Usagi Tsukino/Serena/Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon) - Her status as a role model for children was ultimately destroyed after a paparazzo caught her in the middle of her transformation and took the opportunity to snap a few nude pix. Though she tried to reveal the truth of the situation, the professional-looking erotic poses she was caught in smashed her credibility. Now she stands still when transforming.

VS

Nabiki Tendo (Ranma 1/2) - There was a time when she was a sweet and selfless little girl. That all changed when she stumbled across a copy of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition.

I was an inch away from voting for Louie. I really was. But I'm not going to because I know I'll hate myself later for it.

Lame turnout this time. To no one's surprise, I'm sure, Harlock smashes Louie to move on the the semifinal round. And very surprisingly, Nabiki pulls through also.

Males:

Alucard (Hellsing) - If you've been following the most recent chapters in the manga, you're probably questioning whether he belongs in this category or not.

VS

Kyon (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - I wonder if even he knows his real name.

Females:

Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - The usual joking aside, the first episode of the anime is infinitely funnier if you read the book about them making the movie.

VS

Emeraldas (Captain Harlock) - Again with the joking aside; Fuck ADV for only releasing two (of four) episodes of Queen Emeraldas.

No brainer for Kyon, but PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE BETWEEN THE OTHER TWO. Alas, since I don't have the luxury of abstaining, I guess I'll vote for Haruhi for strategic reasons.

Males:

Arsene Lupin III (Lupin III) - The brilliant career of the greatest criminal the world has ever known came to a humiliating end when he was caught stealing a hot dog.

VS

Piccolo (Dragonball) - Many years from now, he will be old, shrunken, wise, and have lost his ability to put words in the proper order. Yes, he is destined to become Yoda.

Females:

Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell) - Oh, she may be a badass cyborg supercop now, but she had humble beginnings. Go to the right part of town and buy the right person a beer, and you might just hear some stories about her early days as a struggling sexbot.

VS

Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop) - Driven to suicide by the maddening thought that Vincent Valentine may be a part of her family tree.

Piccolo, because I made myself laugh with the Yoda joke. Also, Faye.

Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop) - 4

Gina just totally reversed the outcome of this round, as Piccolo's 74% tiebreaker score trumps Lupin's 50%.

On to the Semifinal Round.

Males:

Kyon (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - Following an easy first round victory over Jinto Lin, he was promptly smashed by Roy Mustang in round 2. Brought back for round 4 by Ndi, he walked over Edward Elric and Tuxedo Mask to progress to round 5, where he secured a victory against Alucard to claim his spot in the final four.

VS

Captain Harlock (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) - Wolfwood, Mugen, Kenshin, Amuro, Tochiro, Louie; one after the next, he's crushed all opposition (except Mugen, who only lost by two votes) to make it this far.

Females:

Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - Leading off with a narrow win over Bulma Briefs, her future seemed uncertain. Another narrow win against Himeno Awayuki definitely cast a shadow over her survival prospects. Though she lost in a tiebreaker to Motoko Kusanagi in round 3, she was quickly revived for round 4 as a wild card entry, where she defied all expectations by smashing Haruko Haruhara and Ed, both strong contenders in their own rights. Another huge win over Emeraldas has brought her to this point.

VS

Seras Victoria (Hellsing) - After starting off with a narrow win against Akane Tendo, she began to pick up momentum, handily defeating Nana and Sumomo in the next two rounds. In the wild card round, she faced off against Ahiru and Kei yuki, beating them handily. Another competitive, yet solid, victory over Chii has secured her position in the semifinals.

Alas, Kyon and Seras, I've been with you since the beginning, but here is where we part ways. Harlock and Haruhi.

Captain Harlock (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) - 7

Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - 4
Seras Victoria (Hellsing) - 5

An easy win secures Harlock's place in the final round, while Seras scrapes a win to ensure a spot in the female category. Now to determine their opponents!

Males:

Piccolo (Dragonball) - A huge first round win over Yusaku Godai kicked off his amazing run. Syaoran Li nearly became a stumbling block for him in round 2, but he came back to score a decisive win. Round 3 proved no challenge at all as he easily crushed Roy Mustang, but Round 4 saw him struggle against Walter Dornez and scrape a narrow victory. After winning in a tiebreaker against Arsene Lupin III in the quarterfinals, it seems his momentum may have stalled.

VS

Ranma Saotome (Ranma 1/2) - After starting off with dominating results over Kazuma Kuwabara and Sosuke Sagara, he encountered his first challenge against Brandon Heat, although his victory there was still decisive. Roy Focker provided stiff opposition in round 4, but was no match. In the quarterfinal round, he saw tougher competition, winning in a tiebreaker against Harry MacDowell, making him the only character to single-handedly eliminate the representatives of another show.

Females:

Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell) - Chi-chi, Urd, Haruhi Suzumiya, Excel, and Faye Valentine; an impressive roster, all defeated by this seemingly unstoppable force. There's still one more hurdle to pass before she can face Seras in the final round, however.

VS

Nabiki Tendo (Ranma 1/2) - Having been excluded from the original list, she's the only true wild card (not resurrected) to make it this far. With victories over Misuzu Kamio, Sophie Hatter, and Usagi Tsukino under her belt, she's certainly established her credibility.

It's been a long road—slightly over a year now—but we're nearly to the end. Before we get there, I'd just like to say thanks to all of you for your participation. Also, a special thanks to Ndi and Ktulu, whose help in the formation of this rumble was invaluable.

I'll vote for Ranma due to him being the better character and Nabiki due to her being the underdog.

Ranma & Nabiki "Motherfuckin' Teflon" Tendo

I just read this thread a few pages back, and it's a bitter pill to swallow when you see 2 out of 3 (Clare & Gon Freecss) of your nominations' outcomes with the ol' goose egg as their total number of votes gathered. And if Prak were to enter my other nomination (Mamoru Takamura), it would've more than likely emulated the same abysmal trend as my other aforementioned nominations, so its omission, for whatever reason, is well-appreciated.

To be totally honest, I can't say I'm the least bit surprised by their early losses (at this point of the rumble); however, their matching pair of zeros weren't expected. Haha.

Now, regarding Nabiki Tendo's performance, it's a different story. I figured she'd fare nicely against some of the others, but her upset over Usagi Tsukino was an "oh, wow" moment for me. Even then, I could safely say that Prak was more in awe than I was, when considering his initial response to the matter.
