Cherry (Saber Marionette J) - Very generic character, although the naughty daydreams provide a bit of distinction.

Lafiel (Banner of the Stars) - An uncommonly strong female lead made even more interesting by her absolute lack of charm. I'm not kidding. It actually works well.

Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop) - With a completely out-of-left-field backstory that never really comes into play as a significant aspect of the character and a personality that seems like it's right out of a well-read playbook, I have to wonder where the popularity of the character comes from.
