Well, the thing is, it's definetly different of what I expected, since now he has an actual band!

And it's a top-record, nonetheless. I love his guitar-play, and the songs are just that good. Kinda vintage, but, there's quite the serenity, to say it in such nice words. ^^

The Punk Rock Don't Stop: A Tribute Album To The Apers- 18 Different artists <3

How much, if any of this is from before the self-titled? I hate that album and everything they've done since but love their prior material. I'm sort of interested by it but I have a feeling I'd end up hurling it against my wall, or putting it in the microwave or something.

The Apers's The Apers was from 2001 so:

Numskull- Principal's Daughter from The Apers/Retarded Split

Battledykes- I Hate Guys With Girlfriends from The Love Is A Battlefield And We Are The Stormtroopers EP

Accelerators- Wanna Go from Teenage Drama every Kid Will Understand

Sonic Dolls- I've Fallen from The Love Is A Battlefield And We Are The Stormtroopers EP

Popsters- Spend Your Weekends With Me from Retarded/Apers split

The Unlovables- Please Don't Change from Buzz Electric (yeah i know it's after The Apers, but it's the best track of the comp so ;( )

The Mugwumps- You Think You're So Damn Funny from For You and Your Loser Buddies Ep

7 out of 18, if you really want to hear it, i'll upload it (.rar), but the other bands are pretty great: Copyrights, Ergs!, 20Belows, Sugus, Random Heroes, Leftovers, Ritalins, Manges & Supermarket, Steinways, Zatopeks, and Travoltas.

also: I want to take this oppurtunity to once again remind those of you who haven't to listen to Frank Zappa. Did you find that there were actually hooks on this album? Not that it wasn't an unbelievable album, but I was just find that there melody enough to actually hum along with.

Indeed, it was, well, a bit shocking, since the contrast between the recorded versions and live versions is really high. But it doesn't bother me, that much, fortunately. ^_^

or, you know, go against the indie hipster crowd and get Good News For People Who Love Bad News. it's pretty ace (although apparently it's the record on which they "sold out", because float on got pretty popular. go figure) but not really representative of the rest of their stuff.

Well, just so you know, I really dig the rythm and sound of songs alike Float On. So what if they so-called sold out with, doesn't matter, and I try to look away from all the indie-labeling and such.

So, IF the rest of the songs on the album Good News For People Who Love Bad News is as good or even better than Float on, I think I might go for that one (or download a couple of songs first or something~).

i read the back of the new arcade fire, why did they redo a song from the EP?_? (no cars go). i dont think i am going to bother with neon bible, really, though. i mean, they are a pretty good band, but they have so many hardcore fans! its pretty tangential to the music, i know, but it's like i thought funeral was a pretty good album with a fair few good songs on it, but nothing i would listen to that often, whereas it's like it changed their lives with all these... MAD FANS. it's sort of off-putting. or something. like i don't really get it. anyways, i wouldnt pay more than €10 for an album of theirs considering, but maybe i would end up really liking neon bible, so possibly i should give it a go. who knows. =(

Air - Moon Safari
Air - The Virgin Suicides Soundtrack

Funny story; went to the store today looking for the VS soundtrack and found it there for $15. Then I saw box set with that CD plus Moon Safari for $20 so I decided on that instead. Took it to the counter and it scans for $5! This is a bargain to end all bargains
