Indeed, it was, well, a bit shocking, since the contrast between the recorded versions and live versions is really high. But it doesn't bother me, that much, fortunately. ^_^

I've been wanting to get this for a while now but I have heard good professional reviews yet bad word of mouth for it. The special ed. is the same price at JB at the moment than the price most stores have the standard version so I'm thinking of getting it this week if I don't run out of dosh.

Many people say either Lonesome Crowded West or The Moon and Antarctica are the best albums. I like Moon, most of the other people I know like West. I would probably start with one of those, but it's totally up to you.

or, you know, go against the indie hipster crowd and get Good News For People Who Love Bad News. it's pretty ace (although apparently it's the record on which they "sold out", because float on got pretty popular. go figure) but not really representative of the rest of their stuff.

I didn't dislike Good News, I didn't think it was as good as previous efforts though.

The new record is pretty spiffy.

Well, just so you know, I really dig the rythm and sound of songs alike Float On. So what if they so-called sold out with, doesn't matter, and I try to look away from all the indie-labeling and such.

So, IF the rest of the songs on the album Good News For People Who Love Bad News is as good or even better than Float on, I think I might go for that one (or download a couple of songs first or something~).

It's in a nifty clamshell box with these two flip books which are kinda cool. I haven't given the album a spin yet cuz just got home but I will after dinner whilst doing my image and text assignment so that should make it enjoyable no doubt!

I gotta get me some Arcade Fire.

neon bible is pretty stunning but if you haven't heard anything by them get funeral first, it's the better album

other dude: arcade fire are nominally an indie rock band but they are kind of hard to pin down stylistically.

I've bought "And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out" by Yo La Tengo recently. And I picked up "Mirrors" by the Rapture.

Both of them are pretty ace, truth be told.

i read the back of the new arcade fire, why did they redo a song from the EP?_? (no cars go). i dont think i am going to bother with neon bible, really, though. i mean, they are a pretty good band, but they have so many hardcore fans! its pretty tangential to the music, i know, but it's like i thought funeral was a pretty good album with a fair few good songs on it, but nothing i would listen to that often, whereas it's like it changed their lives with all these... MAD FANS. it's sort of off-putting. or something. like i don't really get it. anyways, i wouldnt pay more than €10 for an album of theirs considering, but maybe i would end up really liking neon bible, so possibly i should give it a go. who knows. =(

:D Oh yes, it's quite a terrific album, thing is, I'm a really big Nick Cave fan, and Grinderman is simply the edgier music Nick Cave has to offer! Some of the other songs remind me a bit of Iggy Pop's rawness, which I find excellent. ^_^
