I do wish mew3's capture card had S/PDIF support so it wouldn't have that dreaded hissing...it's not very noticeable but still, the higher the better.

I'd recommend making a custom stage that's walled in, and then set the only items to Master Balls and Sandbags. Time matches are best, so try that. At the very least, Mew will drop all the CDs that aren't unlockable via challenges.

His is lossless. Not the FLAC but the cable he's using itself, if we had that I wouldn't really care much because all he's doing OTHER than that is just useless filler.

I guess I'm just a quality freak, ours DOES have more dynamic though, the music feels warmer too. And you can't really notice hissing until the very end...I'm going to complete it anyway because quitting near the end would be a bitch move on my part. Plus, I've warmed up to you guys.

Second question first: I think, for completionists' sake, you might as well include all the minor tracks, and just leave it to the interested parties to decide whether those tracks are too minor to care about.
I think maybe it would be best as a spreadsheet-type list with Smash 64-3DS (the Wii U's obviously the most extensive tracklist, so it's not really necessary to include it). You could maybe highlight the tracks on each game's list that aren't found in the Wii U's soundtrack.

Also you may want to consider using a lower-res album image. 1 MB is way bigger than necessary, and multiplied by 438 adds almost half a gigabyte to the .rar size.

Just want to point out that while I already thanked everyone here, now that I've listened to some of this, thank you SO much to everyone who contributed. When Brawl came out, I was in college and I was doing some work with the first gamerip of that in terms of identifying tracks. From that little contribution, I know how much of an undertaking it is and given the scope of this game's soundtrack, this was no small feat. Thank you to everyone!!!

That said, I have just a couple more fixes:

I'm hearing some audio problems like popping and volume inconsistency, but it's minor enough that I'm not worried about it at this point.

Just a few mistakes I've noticed -- Every instance of "Balloon" is misspelled as "Baloon", "Gaur Plains" is misspelled as "Guar Plains" and the last word in "Pok�mon Gym Evolution" is also misspelled. I'm not sure if you fixed it in the third and "final" upload or not, since I didn't feel like downloading 2GB for the third time in a day just for some track fixes that I could do myself. :V

Just a few mistakes I've noticed -- Every instance of "Balloon" is misspelled as "Baloon", "Gaur Plains" is misspelled as "Guar Plains" and the last word in "Pok�mon Gym Evolution" is also misspelled. I'm not sure if you fixed it in the third and "final" upload or not, since I didn't feel like downloading 2GB for the third time in a day just for some track fixes that I could do myself. :V
I can confirm those errors are still present in the upload from this morning. Hopefully Ungrateful can fix them when he does AJ's artist tags.

We're still hunting down each other's mistakes, don't expect us to have this perfect just yet :P

While there are issues with tags and sound quality (at times), I'm in no position to be anything but grateful for all of the hard work put into collaborating this OST. Download the latest upload, that should be fixed.

I noticed Track 216's Earthbound should be renamed to EarthBound, as it's known as officially. A minor nitpick for sure, but EB's a personal favorite of mine, so I couldn't resist pointing it out. :)

That said, I'm not picky at all when it comes to tagging accuracy and such - I'm just happy to have the soundtrack at all. When the Brawl ISO was first ripped in early February 2008, NONE of the tracks were tagged - I specifically remember a bunch of us downloading series-specific "packs" and figuring out which tracks were what for the comprehensive preliminary tracklisting. I *still* have that same soundtrack with the same preliminary names.

That said, with all the tracks there's no need for me to ever upgrade. Seeing such a group effort like this tackle a much bigger soundtrack with less viable ripping resources is actually really awesome. I'll never forget that, just like I'll never forget the epic wait for this!

Actually, I just checked the latest upload (mediafire one, since Mega won't let me download) and it's still mistaken. I tried to check individual series downloads... but there is no link for F-Zero.

Normally, I use MEGA instead of Mediafire but SSB4's soundtrack is too big for downloading without getting the plugin, something I'm rather unwilling to do (I'm usually very careful about plugins and other such things).


BTW... another mistake (this one is less major)... SSBM's Metal Battle theme has an inconsistent volume ; after the looping point, it become deafeningly loud for a second and has slight lag before restarting.

So I started listening to the collection in my car today, and noticed something weird.

On track 21 (SMB64 Main Theme), at around 1:50 all sound cuts out except for what's coming from the leftmost speaker for the rest of the track. The track sounds fine on my computer, but I have a very simple computer speaker setup.

...Well, I could argue that "177 - Space Armada [Star Fox]" is a bit too loud compared to everything else. That could probably benefit from a re-rip at a lower volume (and normalization afterwards).

I would say do the same thing for the Opening Movie music and the Onett/Winters remix as there's a bit of distortion in those tracks when it gets really loud.

- "PAC-MAN'S PARK / BLOCK TOWN [PAC-MANIA]" should be "PAC-MAN [PAC-MAN]"
- "PAC-MAN [PAC-MAN]" should be "PAC-MAN (Club Mix) [PAC-MAN]"

Ohhhhhh... Sorry, but these weren't included in the music collection. You'd have to wait for an actual game disc rip. (I thought you meant like Crazy Orders Victory... Please excuse me. For I am an IIIIIIDIOT.)

I've recorded the victory jingles for you :-)
It may be useful for a short time since I expect the 'real' gamerip to be out soon but it's something.

What I did was go to the sound settings and only leave the music on (disabling the sfx and voices)
Then I used a 3,5mm to 3,5mm jackplug from my speakerset to my laptop to record them all (thanks to special smash's 300% mode I could do it pretty fast)
and then used audacity to crop them and export them to 320kbps mp3 files.
I'm not an audiophile or something so they may sound horrible in one's and decent in other's.
