Well, technically they’re not dying just being "KOed" so if you look at it in that way it does make sense.

The hero’s are what the games about its their story, thats why, if they could only die once the entire game then…..The End. For example in star wars if the people in the star destroyer blew up the escape pod that C3PO and R2D2 where in then star wars would not have been, same thing in FF.

well said but it does bug me that they can survive 5 nuclear explosions and only be koed when in ff2 for example joseph gets crushed by a bolder when the heros get crushed by twice as many things and hardly even flinch. i would be happy if they used protect and shell to block stuff or if they had real magical armour on though.

this is exactly what i have mentioned before. I think this matter is in everybodys mind, but they already know the answer to it. The answer is, that there is no answer. Thats just the way it is. And people just disregard it instead of asking the question, because they basically already know the answer

I heard something or read it im not sure if it was from a post here or not but it kind of made sense, the battles that happen outside of the story line do not really happen at all. All that really happens is the storyline itself, well the battles that you cant avoid might happen but the rest is just something for you to do extra besides just running through the game.

I think they do happen while in Trabia Garden Rinoa says something to the effect of "All the constant battles, what if someone doesn’t make it" or something to that effect, so i think they do happen.

well, firstly I think the word "Fantasy" might have something to do with it :eye:

And also If all you characters died on the first hit, it would be a pretty short game, don’t you think?

Indeed, it serves the game, it means that it’s not impossible, it means that you can actually play the game, "fantasy" really is the operative word here.
