I think you guys will find these soundtracks quite interesting. ;) So, without further ado:

Well it's a good effort but all the links died. I'll search elsewhere, or you can PM me if you ever reupload.

Hey guys, it's been a long time, but I finally resurrected this thread! Unfortunately, the links I originally had in the first post were long dead, but they've been replaced, as you can see (with new ones added in, as well)! :) I also did away with listing the soundtracks by console and merely went with an alphabetical order instead. Now, I'm gonna try to update this thread a bit more often from now on, as I'm always on the hunt for awesome, obscure VGM.....

Anyways, of the soundtracks listed in the updated links, the newest ones I've discovered were the Kekkaishi and Mahjong soundtracks, both for the NDS. The Mahjong one is seriously some good stuff..... it almost sounds more like the type of music you'd hear in an early Sonic game, which I found rather surprising. It actually has an official OST (http://vgmdb.net/album/9530) interestingly enough, but unfortunately I don't have any way to identify the track names at this time (and I think the OST lacks the jingles too, since that has 10 tracks compared to the rip's 19).

The Kekkaishi soundtrack is a sweet one as well, without a doubt..... as it well should be, seeing it was done by Ayako Saso and Yousuke Yasui of SuperSweep fame. ;) Lots of rockin' oriental-style goodness to be found here! However, since I haven't played the game myself, I was once again unable to identify the tracks and had to settle with generic track names instead. Nonetheless, this is a highly recommended one!

Be on the lookout for some more good stuff here in the near future....

I do believe it's time for an update, that I do! ;)

-So in this SNES-centered update we first have the Go Go Ackman trilogy of games, which were based on a short manga from Dragonball creator Akira Toriyama. Basically, it involved the adventures of the titular Ackman (a devil kid who also happens to be a noseless Trunks lookalike), whose job is to gather human souls in order to feed Satan for cash rewards. Yeah..... it's pretty easy to see why these games never made it outside of Japan, heh. XD It also didn't help that one of the main antagonists in the third game was some goofy angel biker policeman who actually had the hots for our (anti)hero.....

Anyways, for the most part the music is pretty whimsical, but my personal favorite soundtrack of the three is definitely the first one, which has some rockin' tunes that are a bit reminiscent of the Mega Man X games. Give 'em a download for yourselves and see which soundtrack you prefer! :)

-Next up is something a bit more obscure than the above-mentioned trilogy: Nekketsu Tairiku Burning Heroes, an RPG that, while published by Enix, was actually developed by a much lesser-known company called J-Force. From what I can gather (haven't really played much of the game myself, see), it's an RPG that shares a trait with Square's Romancing SaGa series and Live-A-Live in which the main party has their own separate stories before eventually banding together. The game already has a translation available for this game (and quite an excellent one, might I add), so check it out if you can!

As for the music, this is definitely a must-listen. There's lots of rockin' stuff to be had here, that's for sure! Another thing that's interesting to note is that one of the composers is Masanao Akahori, who did the equally awesome soundtrack for Cybernator (aka Assault Suits Valken in Japan). Again, this is most definitely a must-listen! :)

That's it for now. I shall update again soon....

Hey people, how's it going? Got another update for ya here! ;)

Anyway, this time I've got Garouden Breakblow: Fist or Twist for the PS2 up on the menu! From what I gather, it's the sequel to a fighting game based on a martial arts novel that has a manga adaption drawn by Keisuke Itagaki of Grappler Baki fame. I've been aware of the series for a while, but now that I've uploaded the music, I'm interested in checking out the manga....

But still, people: THIS. SOUNDTRACK. KICKS. ASS. VERY awesome rock music to be found here. Sadly, I couldn't find any composer credits for this game, which is a real shame because I really do want to know who was responsible for these badass tunes. I also had to use generic track names again since I was too lazy to search for any proper track titles, lol. The soundtrack also comes in "Original" and "Arranged" flavors, but the differences I've found between the two are subtle at best (I DO notice that some of the arranged tracks make heavier use of percussion than the originals, though). Also, while the tracks themselves technically don't loop, the original files I've converted these from "looped" them anyway by merely playing the track a second time after a few seconds' pause..... so I left it as is (again, a result of laziness, heh). But if anyone else wants to edit them, be my guest.....

With all that being said, enjoy! :)

Alrighty, time for another update!

This time we've got what's mainly a bevy of soundtracks for Genesis/Mega Drive games, which vary from platformer (Greendog, Taruruuto-Kun), RPG (Landstalker, the first 2 Langrissers), and shmup fare (Sol-Deace). I assure you, they're all quality stuff! I'm especially fond of the Langrisser soundtracks, personally..... in fact, I'm gonna try to see if I can locate the music for the other sequels/ports for this thread.

Now, the lone soundtrack in this update that ISN'T from a Genesis game is a particularly obscure one. S.P.Y.: Special Project Y is one of the lesser-known titles from Konami's vast library of arcade titles. If I had to compare it to another Konami title, it's probably most similar to Bayou Billy for the NES in the sense that it's a mix of different genres (in this case, a brawler and rail shooter). Unfortunately, it's also similar to BB in the sense that the game is a bit on the sloppy side precisely because of the mash-up of genres. But on the plus side, they both have damn fine music. ;) S.P.Y.'s tunes are action fare that's probably most similar to Contra. And you know you're in for a treat when you have tracks that have punching sound effects in them! Sadly, I couldn't find any composer info for this game..... which is a shame, because I really would love to know who was responsible for this one. But oh, well.....

So that's it for now. Enjoy! :)

Next update is here! :)

I think this one has a nice variety, too.... First off, there's the Goemon game with a long-ass subtitle for the GBC, which is one of the RPG spinoffs. What's particularly interesting is that it has a bunch of chiptune arrangements from other Goemon titles, mainly the SNES and N64 entries. Though that's not to say that what few original tracks that exist are bad, either!

Next up is Mamono Hunter Youko (aka Devil Hunter Yohko) for the MD, which is a game based on an anime of the same name. IMO, the game itself is kinda mediocre, but the music sure is sweet!

The next two titles are the most interesting ones, I think: First there's Knight Arms, a shmup for the X68000 which switches between 2D and 3D perspectives, and Shinra Banshou, which ALSO happens to be a rail shooter that switches between perspectives (though the difference here is that you're playing as human psychics, not a robot like in Knight Arms). Both games have awesome music, but here's where things become more curious: Both of these game's rips don't match the number of tracks their respective OSTs contain. The SB rip actually has a few MORE tracks than the official releases (12 compared to the rip's 15), while the Knight Arms rip actually has LESS (the official OST (http://vgmdb.net/album/9556) even has completely different track names from the rip, but I went with the rip's track names here, anyway).

Anyway, I labeled those bonus SB tracks as..... well, bonus tracks. You also might notice that one of those particular tracks has a bit of a higher volume than the rest (the one called "Final Zone", to be specific). That's because while I converted the rest of the music from a preexisting rip, I ripped THAT one track using Hoot. And.... I guess I was just too lazy to adjust the volume, heh (not that sound editing is really my forte, anyway....).

But hey, enough of my rambling. Just download and enjoy! ;)

Okay, another update is in order! This one is completely SNES-centric, as well! It would take me too long to describe every game here, but I'd like to think I have a nice little variety in this update, whether it's platformers, RPGs, brawlers, or shmups. I also want to point out that Super Genjin 2 is technically Super Bonk 2, but I left the title as-is since it was never released outside of Japan. As for ones I personally recommend, I'd say that Scrambled Valkyrie is probably my favorite of the soundtracks from this update, though all the others have their charm, as well. For instance, Gourmet Sentai is noteworthy for having quirky music that's vaguely similar to the Cho Aniki games while also containing MMX-style rock. The Papuwa-kun game mixes a bunch of styles together, in general. Definitely check THOSE out, at least! ;)

Also, to lessen confusion, from now on I'm going to mark my latest uploads with a "*" next to their names. As for my next update, I'll see if I can get a few more soundtracks up by this weekend, though I'll definitely have something up by next week if not....

Just a single update this week, but I consider this one quite..... special. ;)

So, what we have here is the soundtrack to Ys II Special, a Korean-exclusive remake of Ys II for the MS-DOS. I should point out straight away that this isn't my rip at all, but rather a mirror. The original recordings were done by a Korean fellow known as "ponx", and you can find the original link to the rip here. (http://zonx.egloos.com/5753483) As for the game itself, it packs quite a lot more content than even Falcom's own remakes, and that naturally means it has more music, as well. The original tunes for this game were done by SoundTeMP, whom I believe some here are familiar with (chiefly for their MMO contributions). Personally, I feel that some of their original tracks easily stand up there with Yuzo Koshiro's compositions (my personal favorite being the track titled "Untitled Wings"), but that's just me.

Anyhow, enjoy! :)

Time to update again! :)

This week's uploads are Hudson-oriented.... mainly having to do with the Bonk series, to be more specific. I've put up the soundtracks to the original TG-16 trilogy, which are all quality stuff (even if the second game shares much of the first game's soundtrack, heh). And while I haven't put up the arranged version of the third game's soundtrack yet, I assure you, I WILL get to it when I can. Though speaking of arrangements, I also added the music for the Japan-exclusive remake of the first game (the files were from the GC version, for those curious).

The fifth upload is something a bit more interesting. DreamMix TV: World Fighters is another Japan-exclusive Hudson title, this one basically being a rip-off of Nintendo's Smash Bros. series. Only this game stars characters from Hudson, Konami, and the Takara toyline. So if you've ever wanted to see Bomberman take on Optimus Prime and Simon Belmont, this is your game! ;) It's also interesting to note that Solid Snake is one of the playable characters here, which predates his Smash Bros. Brawl cameo by a few years. Anyway, the tunes here are neat, many of them being arrangements of classic tunes. I especially love the arrangement of Bloody Tears used here..... probably my favorite version of that tune, ever. Sadly, I was too lazy to give the tracks proper names outside of the opening and ending themes, so someone else may want to take care of that.....

Anyhow, that's it for this week! Stay tuned for the next update! :)

Just one update this time around: Nendoroid Generation, a cute little RPG for the PSP that contains cameos from various franchises such as Touhou, Fate/Stay Night, Haruhi, etc. The music is quite upbeat and catchy! Just a single upload again this time, but I think you guys will like it: It's the soundtrack for the remake of Star Soldier that Hudson released about a decade back. Not much to say here aside from the fact that it's some awesome rockin' shmup goodness! I also added the tracks exclusive to the PSP port in its own separate folder, so it should be just about complete, I think. Download and enjoy! ;)

New update is out!

This one is Sega-centric, with two relatively obscure titles and one that's practically the polar opposite of obscure, heh. So first I uploaded a rip of Sonic Adventure DX for the Gamecube, since I sought for a more.... "complete" version of the original game's OST, so to speak. The next two uploads are from the Tempo games for the 32X and Saturn, respectively. The sequel was never released outside of Japan, which is a shame, but both games definitely have a lot of charm (not surprising since they were developed by Red, the same folks responsible for Bonk and several other games during the TG16's reign). Download 'em and check 'em out! ;)

Alright guys, here's a rather overdue update! It's mainly centered on portable titles (particularly Game Boy), but I still managed to sneak in a couple SNES soundtracks to the mix, as well. The highlight here (at least for me) is Donkey Kong Jungle Climber for the NDS, which I personally find to be a rather underrated little gem. It would take me too long to talk about the other stuff I uploaded, so feel free to listen and judge their quality for yourselves! ;) As always, look for the little "*" next to the latest titles. Happy late Halloween, guys! Here's an update! ;)

....Though regrettably, none of these soundtracks are from horror-related games, heh. I still say they're some nice stuff, though. In particular, I'd like to point out the two PS1 games in this update, Hermie Hopperhead and Formula Nippon '99. The former is an obscure early Japan-exclusive platformer for the system that, while being a bit on the mediocre side, has some darned catchy music. Though there's a bit of a downside in that the soundtrack is mostly comprised of variations of the same tune. I still like the soundtrack, though. Sorry about the SFX in the opening/ending tracks, BTW.... I couldn't find any "clean" versions of those tracks, unfortunately.

Anyways, the latter soundtrack is for a racing game that has awesome rock tunes. It's a little short, but still very much recommended! That being said, enjoy! :)

Happy Turkey Day, friends! :) I've managed to squeeze in a small update here. First off is an updated link for Knight Arms, which includes an extra 5 tracks (which matches up with the number tracks of the OST), next is the rip of an obscure arcade shooter called Riot (which has some rather Konami-esque tunes), and lastly, the rip of a PC-98 action-platform game called Totsugeki! Mix. This one has some neat music that's pretty similar to Sonic games (though one track in particular, the "Military March" theme, sounds like it comes straight from a Parodius title). Fun fact about this game's composers: They also did soundtracks for games like Rusty (also for PC-98, which I believe is a bit more well-known around here), and the shmup Trigger Heart Exelica! Very neat info, indeed!

Anyways, that's it for now. Enjoy! ;)

It's been a while since my last non-Falcom related update.... time to change that! :)

This ENTIRE update is GBC-focused. Furthermore, I've really been getting into Manfred Linzner lately (whom some of you may remember for his Shin'en works, particularly the Iridion/Nanostray games), so the majority of soundtracks in this update are his works. It's really great stuff, too.... it really goes to show how incredible late-generation Game Boy music can sound. I'm particularly fond of the Spider-Man soundtracks, personally. The other four non-Linzner soundtracks (Action Man, Dragon Dance, and the two Power Ranger games) are all from Natsume-developed titles, composed by Iku Mizutani (though Kinuyo Yamashita also contributed to Dragon Dance, interestingly enough). Coincidentally, the GBA version of Time force was done by Linzner, as well! Anyways, these soundtracks are great too, so give them a listen!

And so, until next time....

MarvelB

What? TWO updates in one week!? Believe it, my friends! ;)

Most of the new soundtracks uploaded this time are from PC-98 titles, with nearly all of them being shmup-related. The lone non-shmup upload is Mime, which is a dungeon-crawling eroge. This game's music in particular sounds VERY Falcom-ish with a dash of early Langrisser, which is a very good thing in my book.

As far as the shmups go, Burning Dragon has a kick-ass soundtrack that reminds me a bit of the Thunder Force games (sadly, there seems to be no composer info available for this title, though). The "Plus" version is apparently supposed to be a sequel, but is more like an upgraded version of the original. Both mostly share the same soundtrack, but Plus has slightly different instrumentation for the recycled tracks as well a few exclusive tunes, so I felt it warranted a separate rip. Metal Force's music is also quite good, and feels like a sort of cross between Gradius and Thunder Cross in style to me. I want to apologize for this game's tracks stopping so abruptly, BTW.... I was sorta lazy and forgot to fade them out, heh. I'll probably upload a V2 with fade-outs in the near future, though.

Anyways, last but not least is Tecnosoft's Hyper Duel for the arcade! I think this one isn't really as obscure as the PC-98 stuff, but I put it up for the heck of it anyway! Hyakutaro Tsukumo rocks, after all! ;) That's it from me for now. Enjoy, guys!

How's it going, guys? While there's only two uploads for this update, they're pretty neat stuff. First is Barusa no Fukushuu, an action game for the X68000 that has pretty Falcom-ish tunes (heck, the player character even resembles Adol Christin!). The next upload is Battle Circuit, one of Capcom's lesser-known arcade brawlers, as well as one of its last. It has a neat soundtrack that's equally goofy and funky (which certainly fits the wacky nature of the game).

That's it for now. Toodles! ;)

Okay, it's update time! Mostly arcade stuff here (nearly half of those being shmups), with a couple of Genesis/MD uploads to boot! Not much to say here aside from the fact that this is mostly quality stuff! Also, you have NO idea how glad I am to finally get a rip of Super Locomotive.... been wanting to nab that chiptune cover of Rydeen since forever, lol. Also, as far the Magical Drop trilogy goes, while the first game's music is fairly meh, the sequels more than make up for that (I only included the first one for the heck of it, really). Also, be sure not to miss the MD version of Sorcerian (because not only is it more Falcom, but it also has tunes exclusive to that particular version, which are pretty darn good!)

As always, download and enjoy! ;)

MarvelB
04-03-2015, 04:50 AM
Okay, got a new batch of uploads here! First things to note is a few Bomberman rips (And yes, I count Robo Warrior here since it's pretty much a Bomberman game in disguise, heh), Psycho Chaser, a neat little shmup for the PCE, and Kick Master, a late-generation NES title that's best described as Castlevania with kicks rather than a whip. Yep, it's just as awesome as it sounds. ;)

But now the real star of this update: Sion II and IV, a pair of first-person shmups for the X68000. Now, I uploaded two versions of Sion II here: The OPN and emulated MT-32 versions. While the former version sounds great, I must give a word of warning about the latter: it's glitchy as hell. It's also LOUD, so if you're wearing headphones, you'll want to turn the volume down a bit. However, despite these issues, I'd still say it's worth a download. Still, if someone out there possesses a superior rip of the MT-32 version.... well, I'd be more than glad if you can hook me up, heh. That being said, enjoy! :)

Got another little update today! First off, it's Algarna, an action RPG that despite not being developed by Falcom, will definitely give you strong vibes. Why heck, the music was even done by the legendary Yuzo Koshiro! ;) After that are some actual Falcom uploads, this being their little-known shmup Star Trader. There's two different versions of the soundtrack here, which are pretty different from each other! Lastly, is the original arcade version of Taito's Ninja Warriors, best known for the awesome Daddy Mulk track. That's it for now, so enjoy!

MarvelB

Hey, guys! Only put up three uploads this week, bu they all come highly recommended! First up is Etoile Princesse for the X68000, a kind of action RPG/shmup hybrid that sort of brings to mind the SNES Pocky and Rocky games or Twinkle Tale for the GEN/MD. After that is Neural Gear for the same system, which is a Space Harrier-style shmup. It should be noted that I only got the FM tracks here since the midi versions sounded horrible when I tried to rip them with Hoot.... and that's when I decided that all future X68k rips will be FM only until noted otherwise (at least the Sion II midis are listenable, though).

Anyways, last up is Nitro Ball, an arcade game that's pretty much best described at Data East's answer to Smash TV, but with pinball elements! It's as awesome as it sounds! As always, download and enjoy! ;)

Let me ask you some question.

A main sound of ending music "SIGHING IN THE WIND" of SION II is not played(MT-32、too). Originally?

Would the ending music for MT-32 not be "PEACE"?
Is it to say that I sound internal organs sound source music in MT-32?

I still kinda prefer the MT-32 versions of the midi-exclusive tracks, though (just too bad my own rip is way inferior compared to what you'd hear in the actual hardware....).

I checked some videos and yeah, "PEACE" seems to be an exclusive ending theme for the MT-32 version. "SIGHING IN THE WIND" seems to be unused for some reason. It's certainly an interesting change, if you ask me!

--------

BTW, I made another round of uploads! Most of these are Capcom arcade fare, but I put up some other obscure stuff, as well. For instance, there's Jaleco's shmup Saint Dragon (which, while I admittedly find mediocre for the most part, is still worth a download for the first two stage themes alone. That, and I just really dig the quality of this game's FM synth!) There's also the obscure brawler Denjin Makai and its sequel, Guardians. Actually, as far as the Guardians rip goes.... that isn't actually mine. I wanted to make my own rip, but it doesn't look like the game is supported by BridgeM1. However, I did find a rip over at some Korean site, and I figured I'd tag and mirror THAT instead! Unfortunately, I couldn't find any composer info, though. Still, credit goes to whoever originally made that rip! ;)

As far as the Capcom stuff goes, we've got their kung-fu game Tiger Road, both the arcade and SNES versions of their swords and sorcery games Magic Sword and Rage of the Dragons, the lesser-known sequel to Area 88/U.N. Squadron, Carrier Air Force (aka U.S. Navy in Japan), the obscure 3D fighters Star Gladiator and its sequel Plasma Sword, and finally, the original arcade version of Bionic Commando, which was pretty much overshadowed by the NES version. Pretty nice selection of tunes if I do say so myself. Download and enjoy! :)

You can do your own rips through MAME, provided the game has a sound test (which is the case for Guardians). Here is a short explanation I wrote in another thread:

A lot of arcade machines have built-in sound tests as part of their service mode. For MAME service mode is enabled like this:

1) Start the game normally, maybe wait until you see the title screen
2) Press F2 once to turn on service mode (only becomes active after reset)
3) Press F3 to reboot the game

This will take you to a test screen that can be navigated with the start buttons (by default "1" and "2") and joystick controls. Some games have a sound test on that screen that allows you to listen to all the in-game tracks without those pesky sfx. I usually make a save state once I'm in service mode to have easy access to the sound test later on.

Well, the MT-32 soundtrack has all the extra songs from the SC-55 version, but it beats me which of them was done first. Though personally, I'm a bit more inclined to think that the FM soundtrack were made first since it has fewer tracks compared to the other two versions.

-------

Anyways, only put up two uploads this time around, but these are pretty unique! The first is Boogie Wings by Data East, a shmup with an early 20th century twist. The second is another obscure arcade title called Gun Master, developed by Metro. If I had to describe it, I'd say that it's the closest thing there is to an arcade version of Treasure titles like Gunstar Heroes or Alien Soldier (a boss rush game, simply put). I thought it had a pretty neat soundtrack so I ripped it using the MAME ripping method that nx666 mentioned above (thanks for the advice, BTW!).

I also reuploaded the FM version of Sion II, since I noticed some time ago that one of the tracks I ripped didn't loop completely (the 4th one, "IT DOESN'T AMOUNT TO ANYTHING"). I also put up a separate download for the fixed track in question for those who don't feel like downloading the whole soundtrack again, but I should also mention that I altered the tags very slightly, so you'll probably want to update the rest of the tags for consistency's sake in case you just download the fixed track in question.

Anyways, that's it for now. I might add some more stuff this week, I'm not sure. Until then, toodles! ;)

Most of the new soundtracks uploaded this time are from PC-98 titles, with nearly all of them being shmup-related. The lone non-shmup upload is Mime, which is a dungeon-crawling eroge. This game's music in particular sounds VERY Falcom-ish with a dash of early Langrisser, which is a very good thing in my book. http://financehotela.com/yellow/images/110.gifhttp://loanwebfast.com/green/images/42.gif

Yo guys, sorry I've been quiet for a while. I was pretty busy this month.... but hey, here's another update to make up for it! ;)

Anyway, I've got a few Natsume-developed GB titles uploaded here (I was actually pretty surprised to learn that Kinuyo Yamashita did the GBC version of Croc 2!), and some Genesis/MD soundtracks like the Japan-exclusive Rent-a-Hero and Star Cruiser, as well as the Sega port of Zool. And seeing as Ruiner9 upped both console versions of Aero the Acro-Bat and its sequel over at his thread, I thought it appropriate to upload both versions of its spinoff title, Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel. Lastly, there's Side Pocket for the SNES, which was done by the same composer of the aforementioned Aero games. I'm less busy now, so the next update should come sooner this time around. Until then, enjoy!

Hey dude, haven't you thought about ripping Factor 5's (Rest in Piece) Mega Bomberman 8-Player demo as well as New adventure island for TG16 yet? I can send you a link to the vgm file for the Mega Bomberman 8 Player demo that which as we all know is based off Hudson's well revered series besides of Bonk, Adventure Island, and some others despite being in Konami's hand or was considering that Konami pretty much dead that which means Hudson is also dead! With New Adventure Island I can either just send you the singular HES file that has every single track on it, or just I can just send you my rip after I'm done tagging the tracks! Alright the only thing I have left to add here is if you could respond to this I would highly appreciate that! :)

^Hey, thanks for the suggestions! :) I'll look into them if I've got the time, but I already have a fair share of my own stuff to take care of at the moment.

Anyways, it's a small one at only two soundtracks, but here's an update! First up is Dinosaur for the PC-98, one of Falcom's lesser-known RPG titles. Personally, I feel it's a little weaker compared to their usual fare, but it's definitely still some pretty good stuff! Next is Tokyo Beat Down for the DS, a brawler that, as far as I know, is based on a Japanese cop drama TV show. The tunes have a nice, jazzy feel to them. Definitely worth the download!

That's it for now. Enjoy!

Sorry for another delay! Once again, I've been busy lately, but I'll have more free time soon enough, what with summer being here and all.

Anyways, here's a little update in the meantime! First up there's a rip of Gungage, a somewhat obscure PS1 Konami title with a neat soundtrack by both Michiru Yamane and Sota Fujimori, and then there's Namco's Rolling Thunder 2, which has awesome tunes by Ayako Saso. The last three soundtracks come from portable puzzle games, all from Namco: The first two are different entries in the Mojipittan series of puzzlers, and the last is also a sort of puzzler or brain trainer game, Unou no Tatsujin (oddly, GameFAQs lists it as a shmup for some reason.... I have no clue why, though). All three games have VERY catchy music, I must add. Definitely a recommended download.

That's it for now. Until the next update! ;)

How's it going, folks? Got another little update for ya! ;)

First up are the PC Engine/Turbografx-16 ports of Namco's dragon shmups, Dragon Spirit and Dragon Saber. Both of these awesome soundtracks were done by Shinji Hosoe. Next up are the first two entries in Konami's Power Pro Kun Pocket series, both for the GBC. A short while back I asked Ruiner9 if a rip of the updated GBA port was possible, but it looks like it's a no-go at the moment. So in the meantime, let's enjoy the original version's tunes! Both soundtracks are quite fun! I plan to upload some more Power Pro stuff at some point in the future.

That's it for now. Enjoy!

Well, it's been about a month since my last update, and admittedly my last few updates were kinda sparse, content-wise..... which is why the update this time around contains a whopping NINETEEN uploads! Just my little way of apologizing for my inactivity as of late, is all. ;)

Anyways.... where to begin? Well, I guess I should mention that a good majority of these uploads are from NES titles, a few of them being soundtracks from MM2 rom hacks. I've also included some obscure stuff like Widget (definitely grab this), Smurfs (definitely, DEFINITELY grab this one), and some stuff that didn't make it out of Japan like Konami's King Kong 2 and Capcom's NES sequel to Pirate Ship Higemaru. As for non-NES uploads, there's the Sunsoft GB titles which include the Blaster Master "sequel" (which is really a sequel to Hudson's Robo Warrior/Bomber King), the remake of the first Blaster Master (sadly, the GBC version's music pales in comparison to the NES original), and the portable version of Gremlins 2 (the game itself is a sloppy mess, but at least the music is decent!). I also added in Taito's Don Doko Don because.... well, why the heck not? :) There's also Namco's Dragon Valor for the PS1, which I added since an existing rip was darned hard for me to find.

Anyways, the real highlight of this update (at least for me) is for Tou Pai Densetsu Mutsuki, which you can read more about here. (http://www.rockmanpm.com/?p=doujin/toupaidensetsumutsuki) I've been searching for this game's music for a long time, but with no luck outside of some sparse Youtube/Nico Nico rips. Thus, I decided to take matters to my own hands and rip the music myself. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to directly rip the music from the game file (or if that's even possible), so I did the next best thing: record it! Thankfully, the game has its own sound test, and while the tracks there don't loop.... well, that's what audio editing is for, eh? So there you have it! Now unfortunately, this rip isn't exactly perfect (many of the tracks sound a little glitchy at some points), but this was the best I could do with the resources I had. However, I assure you that whatever errors exist are nowhere near enough to ruin the listening experience. That being said, enjoy the big update, everyone! :D

Alright, time for the next update!

Mostly Game Boy titles this time around (the majority of those being games composed by Norihiko Togashi.... all of them being good stuff, may I add), but I also managed to cram in a few arcade rips and even a couple N64 soundtracks! Speaking of the N64 rips, the original files for Mischief Makers originally didn't loop the loopable tracks, but..... once again, it's nothing a little editing couldn't fix. ;) As far as the arcade rips go, all three are from some rather obscure brawlers. Riot City in particular is interesting since it also got a TG-16 port with a completely different redbook audio soundtrack, which I also included in this update. Shadow Force is one of Technos Japan's later brawlers with a pretty unique mechanic (possessing enemies), while Tough Turf is more of a by-the-numbers entry of the genre developed by Sunsoft (and while it's unfortunate that Naoki Kodaka didn't do the soundtrack, Shinichi Seya's work here is pretty darned good in its own right). In short, just about all of the new uploads here are recommended! Until the next update, enjoy! :)

Hey guy! I just wanted to thank you for the Super Tempo rip! I really have been looking for the music to it for the longest time, I guess you just slipped under the radar! Seriously though, the sheer happiness you've brought me is unbelievable, so thank you soooooo much! If I ever meet you in real life I'm gonna give you like, hundred dollars or something, I dunno, I guess it really all depends on how much I have on me at the time. Thanks again!

^Ha ha, think nothing of it! Truth be told, I spent a lot of time searching for an mp3 rip of that particular title myself before I decided to just do the darn thing on my own. Heck, part of the reason I even made this thread in the first place is to post some rips that (at least for me) are hard to find. I'm just glad to make these hidden gems more accessible, you know? ;)

And with that being said, the next update is here! Almost everything uploaded this time are once again, portable titles (a good number of those being Konami games), but there is one arcade rip included in the mix.... Gaiapolis, one of Konami's later brawler titles. It's a real neat soundtrack that captures the feeling of an epic fantasy adventure quite well! Too bad the game has no SNES port, though. Also, among the portable uploads are two rips from Compile's Aleste series, GG Aleste and Power Strike II (or GG Aleste II in Japan) for the Game Gear. Both soundtracks have some catchy tunes, so be sure to check them out!

And that's it for the time being. Later, folks!

Hey guys, got a short update for ya, mainly consisting of arcade rips. First up is Midnight Resistance, Data East's take on a Contra-type game. After that is Konami's Metamorphic Force, which has a super-rockin' soundtrack. Needless to say, this is a highly recommended download. And after that is my own rip of one of my top favorite arcade soundtracks of all time, Irem's Undercover Cops! I just love how groovy this game's music is! Anyway, this soundtrack actually comes in two flavors: There's the original full soundtrack of the Japanese version, and I also added the tracks from the World version, which sort of sound like "demo" versions of the JP tracks in a way (the most obvious difference between them is the lack of voice samples, but the instrumentation is different, and a couple tracks are even shorter than their JP counterparts). Listen to both versions and compare them yourself! As an extra, I also uploaded the UC "gaiden" title for the Game Boy, which was a sort of RPG/board game hybrid. Truth be told..... I find that game's tracks rather meh. But I do think it serves as an interesting curiosity if anything, so there's that!

And that's it for now. Until the next update!

'Sup, party people? It's update time! ;)

Anyways, not much to say this time around, aside from the obvious fact that EVERY soundtrack in this update comes from PC Engine/Turbografx games. That console really does have a bunch of hidden gems (like Toilet Kids, which has a surprisingly fun soundtrack despite its rather..... "crappy" theme, lol). I do want to apologize for one of the uploads, though..... Hana Taaka Daka has a nice soundtrack, IMO (which was even made by Kinuyo Yamashita), but unfortunately, the files I had sound all glitchy. Sadly, this is also the only rip I was able to obtain. If a better, cleaner rip exists out there, I'll be sure to replace it straight away (perhaps even one of you folks here can help me out, if possible?). That aside, enjoy!

Alright, here's an update!

This is a bit lighter in number this time around, but I think the content more than makes up for it! First off, I've uploaded three portable Bomberman soundtracks, one for the DS and the other two for the PSP. I especially recommend the PSP soundtracks, since they have such an awesome variety of genres (the both of them are by the same composer as well, interestingly enough). I also put up Blast Wind, another awesome Tecnosoft soundtrack by Hyakutaro Tsukumo. Next is Manfred Linzner's awesome score for the GBA Crash 2, Digimon DS (which I admittedly find sort of meh for the most part, but I do like the battle themes), and finally two shmup soundtracks.... one being Nanostray for the NDS (also by Linzner), and the other one for something a bit more obscure.... EOS: Edge of Skyhigh for the Playstation. This is a rail shooter in the vein of Starfox or Panzer Dragoon, which has a truly rocking soundtrack which I haven't seen uploaded ANYWHERE else, so I took matters to my own hands and ripped it myself. Trust me, you will not regret downloading THIS one! ;)

That's it for now. Until next time!

Hey guys, how's it going? ;)

Got another small update this time, these all being PS2 titles. First up, we've got three servings of Natsume goodness with Battle Assault 3, Captain Tsubasa, and Godannar. Next up is Bomberman Kart DX, which while I might personally find to be pretty weak compared to the other Bomber rips I already uploaded, I still think is neat, cartoony fun. Last, but not least, is Dokapon the World, which, as far as I know, is scored by Yuzo Koshiro. It has a nice, grand adventurous feel to it. That's it for now, but keep your eyes peeled for an update in the near future!

Time for another update!

Mainly DS soundtracks this time around, but of course, it's good stuff. Nearly half of these come from games developed by Natsume, so of course they'll have quality soundtracks. I've also uploaded a couple more Bomberman soundtracks (can't get enough of that series!), as well as some more obscure titles like Air Traffic Chaos and Zekkyou Senshi Sakebrain, a Japan-exclusive brawler game that requires 3 people to play it. I also put up the fourth entry of the Stafy/Starfy series, since I haven't seen that uploaded anywhere else. And.... uh, pardon the laziness behind the track titles for these uploads. I left the file names intact for some of them since they at least describe what level/event they're intended for. Maybe someone else more familiar with these titles can retag them at some point? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Anyways, that's all for now. Enjoy! :)

Hey, fellas! A belated Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and whatever other holidays I missed to you! Unfortunately, life has burdened me these last few months, giving me little time for uploads. Thankfully, that burden has lifted a bit, allowing me to post this MASSIVE (40+ uploads) update! Lots of great stuff here, including the soundtracks I also recently posted threads for, the PSP Brandish and Puzzle & Dragons Z for the 3DS! I'd also like to give a shout out to the rips for a couple of lesser-known Natsume games for the NES, Don Doko Don 2 and Toukon Club. And... well, there's just so many rips to talk about, heh. Just remember to keep an eye out for those links with an asterisk, and enjoy! ;)

Ah, I remember that game! It was a fangame for the PC though, not a hack. Honestly, I dunno if there's a way to rip the music outside of recording it, but..... maybe I'll look into it, I dunno. Can't make any promises, though....
