Symphony wise:
-The Johto fanfare is always fun (hell, anything from Johto is great)
-We never could find a proper version of the OK! orchestral version besides YouTube...maybe you guys could do that.
-Same with the early gym battle rock theme.
-Same with the route 1 diamond/pearl theme (in-fact anything from D/P would be cool too)
-Aaron's theme would sound...just epic.

Good luck with the symphony. I do choral work myself so I know a tiny fraction of the kind of stuff involved in getting these kind of things setup. You're a great person for taking on such a massive undertaking. Good luck.

Whew, you're right, that orchestrated version of OK is real hard to find... And I was so certain it would be in one of the Perfect Best albums xD No go...

Thanks for your suggestions, and the luck! We're considering Route 205 from Diamond/Pearl... it's fun and jumpy, and could seriously use some expansion. I'll check out the rest of the soundtrack and see if there are any others that we'd like to do (I know there are xD but still)

EDIT: Hmm... Actually, you're going to have to elaborate. The background music used in the anime can be found in the wonderful sound collections "Pokemon Sound Anime Collection" and "Genki!! Ippai!!", located below the movie OST's.

Springberry Symphony Orchestra needs your help!
If possible, I would love to see Dewford Town from Pokemon R/S/E arranged and orchestrated. That's probably my favorite theme in all of the Pokemon games.

Does anyone know if the 'The time has come' tv version has been released?
In the 2.b.a master album it's sung by a woman. On the episode it was a man singing.

Also, absolutely brilliant songs the orchestra should play:

For the symphony, I suggest the classic RBY Battle theme that plays so often in the anime. The anime had such a killer remix. On the tracklist it is number 23, Shakunatsu no Battle Field.

Also, Gold/Silver Rival Battle would be amazing as a grand, epic orchestral arrange.

I know there are people out there who can rip a specific piece of music while minimizing the sound fxs and dialogue so if they're reading this, then I'm asking you to find that version from the movie.

Besides, all that's diffrent is removal of the drums at the beginning, a fadein, skip to 2nd verse, and notched up a semitone (they like to do that in pkmn movies). You can notch up the pitch in audacity. The drums can be removed (sorta) by cutting the low-freqs in traktor.

BTW, you can find a better version of "you and me pkmn" in the pokemon live! original cast recording album.

EDIT@Modda: don't think it's been released, but the closest thing you can get, is get "the time has come" from pokemon live! original cast recording and notch the pitch up/down. This dude's vocal expression is a bit diffrent to the guy in the episode.

So guys. I'm looking for an instrumental version of the theme from Pokemon: The First Movie, the english version. I've found plenty of them... but for some reason, all of them have sound effects. Does anyone have a version of that instrumental without SFX?

I understand what your trying to say, Junh1024. It is one of those differences that separate the full version from the film version. However, it is because of this difference that I want the film version: it has a sense of soft fadeout at the end that does it, whereas the full version feels like it leaves you hanging. Even so, I will never give up on the possibility of having that version.

Unusually for a Pok�mon single, this CD does not contain a karaoke version of High Touch! It contains duet versions with only Ash and Dawn singing, but no track with neither of them singing.

That said, the Instrumental version you'll find on the CD is in fact the excellent arrangement used for the preview clips at the end of the show. Get ready to rock out with it (and a special cameo appearance of an earlier season's theme discretely hidden near the end of the track)!

NOTE: The filenames use Japanese titles for songs, while the Title tags of the songs use the English equivalents. Edit the title tags and honk if you love Japanese.

There are no plans for a Together2008 single at all right now, and with the opening that replaced it already available on a single, it's doubtful that it'll ever have its own CD. We may get a full version of it as part of some future collection (maybe a Perfect Best 3 with music starting after Spurt?), but we can't be sure of that.

The only CD scheduled for December right now is the Movie Song Best 1998-2008 collection, a collection of 35 vocal songs from all 11 movies, but there are no new versions of anything there.

If you read down this far, please take the time to suggest one or two songs from anywhere Pokemon for our symphony to play! They can be from games, or the anime, or the movies, or anywhere! As long as it's Pokemon, We'll find it, we'll arrange it, and we'll play it.

I must've been living under a Solrock to have something like this pass me up. What I would like to have orchastrated are all the BGM(including the jingles and fanfare) from the primary Pokemon versions games, from Yellow all the way to Platinum. And there is one BGM in the anime that(and a big IF) you guys can ectually replicate from this episode Pok�mon SE1 EP061 - the misty mermaid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XQ6cK7nBVs&feature=related) (starting at 5:58 timeline), I would die and go in poke-geek heaven!

Katsu's music is temporarily down, so please be patient with Strawberry Kiss... she's doing her best to reupload everything as quickly as possible.

Pokemon Music Network does seem dead at the moment... It may pop back up later (just so long as the owner notices the problem... ). [which seems unlikely seeing as they haven't updated in ages... so the page may have gotten neglected.]

I actually saw "Pokemon Live!" in-person back in 2000. This was a one season, nation-wide, touring musical written by 4Kids in the Pokemon universe involving all of the main characters. It was one of the few pieces of the Pokemon pie that was created independently in the US without Japanese supervision.

This thing was crazy. The story and book were done by a former soap-opera writer, and follow Ash, Brock, Misty, Pikachu, and the gang through a story arc that involves everything from Giovanni creating a "Mecha-Mewtwo" and trying to steal Pikachu to power it...to a pronounced secret crush Misty has on Ash, to (get this)...undertones of a former affair between Giovanni and Ash's mom (before Ash was born). I'm not kidding. Of course the thing ends with the "real" Mewtwo jumping in out of nowhere at the last second and saving the day with a powerball of memories...like I said...this thing was WEIRD. The music came from the previously released CDs and was all essentially shoe-horned into the story at appropriate places.

As far as cast, most of the people were straight out of college, but interestingly, a few members of the cast went on to bigger things. Andrew Rannells, who played James, went on to star in the anime dub (4Kids) as Harley, Morty (gym leader), and other voices. Darren Dunstan, who played Giovanni, went on to actually be the dub voice director for the final few seasons of the show while it was under 4Kids. This is mainly the Advanced Challenge/Battle seasons. He did a really good job with those in my opinion.

Costumes were mascot style for the Pokemon, but there were a few cool puppet effects too. Mainly, it was for the kids and should in no way be considered in-cannon for the universe...unless you want to include it in your head. I think the fact that there's so little written online about it is by-design. Japan would probably want this thing erased from humanity if they ever saw it. All the same, some of the singing is cool, and the whole spectacle was awesome for me as a 10 year old.

Well, seeing as the thread is revived, I'm going to post the results of my investigating the Crystal and Yellow .gbs audio files.

Yellow has a total of 56 tracks, with at least two being new: the modified opening demo with Pikachu, and the appearance of Musashi & Kojiro.

Crystal has a total of 102 tracks, with 16 new tracks. The majority of the new tracks were created for the Battle Tower, as well as a new battle theme for Suicune.

I am still investigating the 209-track .minigsf rip of Emerald, but it is safe to say all the Battle Frontier tracks are new.

As I am able to convert these rips, I will try to make them available for you all, if that is acceptable.

Anyhow here are my planned uploads for May:

Pocket Monsters: Diamond Version/Pearl Version (MP3 rip, converted from 2SF)

By far the upload I am anticipating the most is what may be a first-of-its-kind project: a full-game rip of Pocket Monsters: Platinum Version.

I have said it before probably, but this project combines the exclusive tracks of previous Platinum rips with my own converted Diamond/Pearl rip to form a full-game soundtrack for the Platinum Version. This is not only based on what I know about the music from D/P, but also my own gameplay experience. I hope to upload it by Memorial Day weekend.

I am also opening my Pokemon music collection to requests; game rips, anime singles, OSTs, and everything else you could need. Ask away!

And finally, I myself am a retired Pokemon trainer with a career dating back to 1997. I retired after mastering Emerald, but with Platinum's release, I've decided to come out of retirement and resume my training lifestyle. I'll be letting you all know when I get Platinum up and running, should you wish to challenge me!

Hey everyone, I've been out of the loop a bit, mianly since the old thread was dying and I was largely unaware about this thread. Anyway, I have breifly scanned through the thread and am highly interested in the orchastra project. I don't want to seem rude my coming in and discussing something that I wasn't originally here to see the start of, but I have a few song suggestions that either haven't already been posted or that I really want to reinforce:

"Advance Adventure - To Forina!!" - from Pokemon Jirachi Wish Maker, a very powerful fanfare that I would love to see extended into a longer more complete song. This song has been used a few times in the anime, and is part of the Japanese opening song "Advance Adventure" (To a degree)

"Oracion" - from Rise of Darkrai. I personally highly enjoy this song and have the hopes that it will be thouroghly considered.

"Aaron 1" - from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Powerful, amazing song, in my opinion, and I wish that it will be included.

"The Guardian's Song" - a personal favorite from Pokemon 2000 - The Power of One.

Other suggestions include "For Manaphy" and "Depart! Towards a Voyage" both from Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea and some of the theme music from Destiny Deoxys.

As you can tell, I highly enjoy the music from the movies and hope that some of it might be included in the final cut. Also, I have plenty more suggestions, but these are my top few. If anyone doesn't know which song I am reffering to in my post, respond to this message and I will try to clear it up.

Finally, I apologize again for just walking into the conversation, but when the music is arranged, can you, Latios, or anyone else that might be involved in the project post the scores (sheet music) for the selections played? I play multiple instruments and would love the ability to play some of the music from this series.

I hope that this isn't too much to ask! Thanks!

Yeah, but they'll keep you waiting. They never released one for the Johto arc alone, and waited for Ruby/Sapphire to release a CD with only some of the tracks from R/B, G/S, and R/S combined. Hardly a full soundtrack. Too bad too. R/S anime has some great stuff. Miyazaki out-did himself.

Probably... it may already be in the hands of some very special people... who get those special releases over in Japan. As the music is usually done before the movie is released... sometimes it gets released before... other times a few months after. And once in a while during the same month as the theater release of the movie...

People who are "special"; would include cast members, people who helped work on the movie (though maybe not all of them); and perhaps close friends and family of those people.... and on rare occasion, people they are trying to impress or get to fund their next little project.

uh... you mean the two versions....

The Regular Version is above, the Limited "Gizamimi Pichu Version" I couldn't find; and the "Eigi" or Movie version won't be released until the Movie OST is... that's if it's released. Chances are the Movie OST will contain just the TV sizes of the Regular Versions.

Oops, I did mean two. For a second I mistook the regular and DVD versions as being different, but they're the same. I thought the DVD version had a fifth track, like the Pichu version. Sorry! So I guess we'll just have to keep searching for the Pichu version!

If you want more, like most of the movie soundtracks and most Japanese and some other language music, you need to setup an fserve on IRC. NB: its moderately hard, but doable with patience & testing.

Thank you! I remember frequently going to #pocketmonsters a long time a go. But when I logged in the other day, did !rules, I didn't see how you could get a voice to have access to the XDCC server. :\

Thought there would be more to this CD, but I never knew it was just a compilation CD of the Gameboy tunes. Guess the search for this was kinda useless, :\.

yes it is epic i have 3 pieces of the hold cd it was on the pokemon movie 12 single its epic cnt wait to review it last yhear score was ok so i have high hopes for this one

Sadly... vixy doesn't work as well as it used to. Mostly converting any stereo format to Mono.... and they aren't offering any form of links; so best bet may be a cheap recorded version from youtube... but they aren't even offering all the tracks.

Heck if anyone wants me to buy it, they could always send me money via paypal. ;p [email protected]

I have my ways of getting the songs off of Youtube. I already have all the ones they uploaded! at this point, they're not done uploading them (as I read on one comment) They skipped track 15... which confused me. Then they were going to upload track 19, and 18 wasn't even up! Hopefully, it will all be there soon, and I'll be able to get it all! Then I'll share it, of course.

the dude stops at track 18 ? like what the movie 12 score is mostly remixs of movie 10 and 11 im kinda upset by that but there are atleast a few good tracks so far its 10 out of 10 for me

so that's about $53 USD... >> I can probably buy it... if I had more money.

I only need about $30 USD (to be safe) more to be able to. XD (unless some kind soul wants to pay for the whole thing, than I'd ask for $63 ($10 middle-man fee which is actually normal... trust me, I normally use a middle-man to get my stuff from Japan) ^^;;;; ).

^^;; I'd upload it with scans... (hates scans)... and if have a new ripping program that does flac. >>;; (though I hate flac, would rather just do 320kbs .mp3 vbr... sounds the same to me).

Or... we wait around a month or so again till some kind soul feels like uploading it again... like last time.

I think this is kinda ill-spent effort, trying to rip meh quality off YouTube. Either try to scrape IRC or the interwebs, or just try to find something else useful to do. An actual rip will get here eventually.

But it's not high quality...it's only as high as a youtube rip can be...which isn't very good. Plus, it's a rip of a rip, which doesn't help either. It may be fine if you listen to stuff constantly at 128kbps, but for the rest of us...it's kinda no help.

So no bashing it till we hear it... than if it's really that bad, I may consider buying it... though I will utterly feel stupid if I buy it and a real CD rip ends up online before mine arrives; or the same day or a few days later (that isn't obviously a copy of mine... ).

And than if it's not that great and the above doesn't end up occuring; I can try out my new ripping program. I haven't had anything to whirl it out on... and I'm too lazy to re-rip things I've already ripped from my CDs. >>;; I know I shouldn't be... but at the moment as long as it sounds decent enough and works, I don't really care what bitrate it is.

Umm...I hate to cry foul more on this than I already have, but that's not how compression works, you know. You could re-encode to whatever you wanted off of YouTube, but you're just re-encoding what's already been compressed. You're doubly degrading the quality, since YouTube compresses anything uploaded. So from a CD, that'd be AIFF-->MP3 on YouTube --> MP4 video (if you do it the right way) --> MP3 again, or just to worse MP3 if you do a straight stream-rip off youtube.

P.S. I have no problem with a YouTube rip for everyone else's sake. But if someone finds a real rip, pleas post that too. Thanks.

also what do u think of the score so far its more mature that old movie i think plus remixing old tune cool some anime music for diamond and pearl for ds route 202 and some tracks from movie 10 and 11

I like the anime remixes, and a few of the tracks are sweet. I also think the tone and sound space for this recording is far better than any of the recent ones. However, I can't pick out one solid or memorable melody in here. I think in general, when it comes to movies, Miyazaki has lost his edge. Every film has the same nuanced blend of drawn out strings with a touch of modern percussion. I know that's his preference, but for goodness sake, try something different for once. I truly haven't been impressed with any of his movie scores since Lucario. He's a far better arranger than he is a composer. ShoPro would be wise to release another anime BGM CD next time.

It does have tags. I even used the new tagging system I use for all of my Japanese CDs. I have he album title in English, then Japanese. Each song title has English first, then Japanese.
