in general the thread probably won't be the winner just for asking a question. lay out your opinions on the matter if you expect a decent reaction.

also, if a thread has not-so-good beginnings but a post within it ignites activity & discussion on a decent level, an exception can be made and that actual post can be nominated.

as things get going you can nominate threads that you think are particularly noteworthy, whether that's for comedic value, sparking a lively, intelligent discussion, or just a particularly insightful post.

if this goes well the prizes will be upped considerably in the coming months. cash, gift certificates, or games / etc would all be very likely possibilities.

The contest is for "Best Final Fantasy Thread Made in October." Therefore, I would think that the eligibility period is already over and a winner would be announced soon. So if anyone wants to nominate anymore threads, I would think that they need to do it soon.

I could be wrong, but isn't there a law or something that says that if you start an "official contest" like this, you have to award the prize. And even if there isn't, not awarding it is still a very bad thing to do.
