Technical details:
19 album tracks are from official download version.
1 end credits film version alternate is a straight downmix of the Blu-Ray disc DTS stream. (No attenuation for center channel as it was already very low in volume. -9 dB for LFE.)
To adjust it to the rest of the album, I used compression, selective amplification and a little soft clipping.

Go here (Thread 226416). Beware however that Tears In Rain is not a Wallfisch-Zimmer composition and therefore not on this "FYC" release. All the shares feature either a brickwalled Tears In Rain directly from the official album or a version from the official album which is adjusted in volume (like in the thread I linked to).

Nope, I did only the end titles suite.

I kinda like the album as-is but the end titles suite from album (Blade Runner) can be a little aggressive and too pop-py.

Especially the cue that reprises "Flight To LAPD" when K is going back home and the cues where K explores Las Vegas (both before finding the bees and when he hears the music from the casino). That would be a treat! :D

It's the same as a regular 7.1 TrueHD mix.
Atmos is just meta data.

But, often, the Atmos mixes are more "dynamic" if the score was produced that way.

It'd be worth it to check the DTS-HD Master Audio mix against the Atmos mix in case there is more dynamics.

The first John Wick movie had 3 sets of stereo for the score in the end credits.
That's dynamic enough.
The commercial Marilyn Mason song was pure stereo, so incredibly useless.

BTW, multi-channel signals are not standardized, this I learned some time ago. So for example the center channel here is softer than usual. Thus, I adjust my downmix parameters.

So I did some playing around with the audio today and made a few things. In the film, 2049 contains this atmospheric, ambient sound design as the camera opens on the plains of 2049 Los Angeles. I really liked that and decided to include it.

Using the 2 front channels and the center channel, I made the film version of One for My Baby (And One More for the Road) when hologram Sinatra is in the jukebox.

I crossfaded Sea Wall, All the Best Memories Are Hers, Tears In the Rain & Sinus's film edit of Blade Runner as they are heard in the film. I tried getting the film version of Sea Wall (the electronic "warps" are different), but there's too much SFX and the cue is too heavily mircoedited for me. So I left it as it, it just crossfades with the next cue.

Sinus, I hope you don't mind me posting it here. I thought this was the best thread as you've got a film version of one of the cues, and it seems to be a popular thread with a decent amount of traffic. Cues are FLAC, 16-bit/44.1kHz

I must admit that I was a bit disappointed when I first listen to this score. But after seeing the film, I really changed my mind. It is one of those instances where the film makes you like the score. I especially like the �Wallace� cue with its Tibetan-like throat singing. A very good idea from the composers. Quite enthralling as K�s spinner approaches the huge Wallace Corporation earth headquarters overshadowing Tyrell�s pyramids. PM sent.

I especially like the “Wallace” cue with its Tibetan-like throat singing. A very good idea from the composers.

I also like this piece very much.
It underlines the religious aspects of Wallace's god complex in a very subtle manner. Just like the Prodigal Son choir in the original movie.

I really liked those moments in the score, some of my favourites.

I fully agree! I really hope they�ll continue to expand this universe. We desperately need more sci fi movies like this. It did well at the box office in France but we�re no China�

Yeah well like the original, it bombed here in North America. Too long and too smart for today's millennials who can't shut their phones off for more than 10 minutes.

While I wouldn't hold my breath for anything (especially for any sessions to be leaked at this time or any time for the matter), I would love a complete film mix like the "Inception" and "Interstellar" ones, even if there's minimal or some SFX. It's a brilliant movie with a great score.

You're not the only one. If anyone could make the film mix of the score it's YFM. I really wanted the film version of Sea Wall, it doesn't start abruptly in the film like it does on the OST. It has a slow fade-in and the electronic "warps" are different. But the SFX with the rain and all the microedits was just way too much. That's beyond my reach.

When initially posting the download version of the album Blade Runner 2049, the alternative end titles suite (�Blade Runner�) taken from the film was meant as a nice little addition. But with time, I've grown even fonder of this variant. It fits the mood of the movie(s) better than the more pop-py album version (with its guitars and aggressive percussion and the typical tick-tock) and is less repetitive in regard to the material on the rest of the album.

So, the logical conclusion was to use it as a replacement or at least offer the possibility to do so. My original upload however only contained a version in which merely the loudest part was levelled with the album version. For a replacement that should work with the loudness and sonics of the rest of the album, this was not enough.

Now I present you the final update. In it, the audio of the track �Blade Runner (film version)� was carefully compressed and amplified in selected areas (via envelope tool) to reflect the dynamics of the album version of that track. This way, you can better compare the two versions and spot the differences. But more importantly, you can now replace the album version with the film version if you want to.

The image below shows the dynamic differences between the �old� film version, the new master and the album version of the end titles suite �Blade Runner�.

I have been listening to your end titles suite, alternating between the two deciding which I like best. I was thinking that I wouldn't be able to judge how it fit the mood of the movie as I hadn't watched the movie yet... Then it hit me... I purchased the Blade Runner 2049 in Blu-Ray 3d & I haven't watched it yet?!? ヽ(�́o�̀)ノ, �\_(ツ)_/� ... I love the original, how could I forget to watch the sequel? I'm at a loss on that one. So tomorrow I'll put on the 3d glasses & headphones & finally see the feature.


Back on topic. I am enjoying your updated version the most. To me it sounds less harsh, I just seem to prefer it. I'll keep them both. Thank you for all the work you put into it. I have so much respect for the talent it takes to adjust the levels & blend the music with the rest of the titles. It's beyond my comprehension, but very much appreciated.

I honestly loved Goslin's performance. He can make both expressive performances like in La La Land or just the opposite, like in Drive and Blade Runner 2049. Such a good actor he is.

I can take him or leave him. I don't love him, but he does well. Couldn't stand La La Land, I regret ever seeing it. That embarrassingly epic screw-up at last year's Academy Awards when it was mistakenly announced as Best Picture by Warren Beatty was amazing. I don't recommend the film. It was overly long (unlike BR2049 which was a good length and took it's time), boring, and was nothing we've never seen before. It was a snoozer musical. A "snoozical" (TM and Copyright 2018 by DAK) and probably one of the most overrated films......ever. If I have one good thing to say about it, it's the opening musical number which was shot as if it was one entire take.
