how were these ripped?I already had a set of mkv movie files that I had ripped from a physical set of Blu-Ray disks a year or so ago using DVDFab. I don't remember all the settings that I used with DVDFab, but I do remember setting the audio to extract directly to 6-channel format with a sampling rate of 48 kHz at 24 bits, because those settings are one notch superior to standard CD audio which is 44.1 kHz at 16 bits, so I figured that would guarantee me better-than-CD quality sound.

I then opened each mkv file one at a time using "MKV Tool Nix" (https://mkvtoolnix.download/) and extracted the DTS 6-channel audio track to a separate ".mka" file. After this, I used TAudioConverter 64-bit (http://taudioconverter.sourceforge.net/) to convert each ".mka" file into ".wav" format, maintaining all 6 channels and the sampling/bit rate in the process. After this, I opened the ".wav" file in Adobe Audition CC 2015 and did whatever editing was necessary to achieve a clean start and finish to the end titles music for that movie. Then, finally, I used dBpoweramp to convert the edited ".wav" file into ".flac" format, maintaining all 6 channels and the sampling/bit rate in the process. Afterward, I simply embedded a ".jpg" coverart file in each ".flac" file to serve as album art in WinAmp or whatever media player other people use. After this, it was simply a matter of "rarring" it all together and then getting it uploaded to mega.co.nz.

I know from stumbling around myself in the past with digital sound editors that it's easy to put a "lossy" soundtrack into a digital sound editor and to then tell the editor to save it at a high bit rate in a "lossless" format. Of course, when you do that, you're merely preserving the lossy errors with greater quality, but the errors are still there, nevertheless, and they are still errors. Many people don't understand that. You have to maintain the chain of digital integrity in order to ensure a truly lossless, high-quality track. So for him to inquire about how I did what I did is a very reasonable request. And if you read his replies to me, you'll see that I have room for improvement on future projects. It's a big download but so far it's worth it.Yes, it is, big enough for some movie files, in fact. The reason is because of the 6-channel sound format. Since these End Title tracks are in 5.1 surround sound, you've got 3 times as much digital information as you would in a standard stereo track with the same sampling/bit rate. For you guys who have a surround sound setup at home, I hope you in particular are able to hear the difference. I've been requested to provide individual links for each of the 8 end titles because somebody was having problems not being able to download a file as large as this one (2.4 gigs).

To put it as graciously and respectfully as I can, that's not going to happen. It took quite some time to get the 2.4 gig file uploaded to Mega, and to then have to upload the same content all over again in eight separate streams, plus afterward having to keep track of 8 separate links for the different files...well, between my job and my family I simply don't have the time.

If you're on a desktop machine (PC, MacOS, or Linux), then you need to install the Mega extension for your browser. The only browsers Mega offers extensions for are Firefox and Chrome, but I happen to know that Firefox and Chrome are both available not only for Windows, but also for MacOS as well as for Linux - and I also happen to know that both of those browsers are 100% free regardless of what OS/platform you use, as is the Mega extension for them. (I have been a very happy user of Firefox for nearly 10 years.) Once you have one of those browsers, Firefox or Chrome, installed on your desktop machine with the Mega extension for it, then you should have no problem downloading this file.

If you're on a portable/mobile device, like an iPhone, an Android phone, or a tablet of some sort, then you need to go to the app store for your device (iTunes' App Store or Google Play) and get the Mega App for your device. Once you have the Mega App installed on your device, then you should be able to download this file just fine (assuming you've made sure your device has enough space available).

2. What kind of platform/OS does it have (Windows, MacOS, Android, Blackberry, etc.)?

5. How much free space does your device indicate is available?

(Side note, not only to frodoo, but also to anybody else having problems: This download is 2.4 gigs, so you need to make sure you have twice that much space available on your device. The reason is that, after you download it, you'll have to extract the files before you delete the downloaded .rar file. As you get to the end of the extraction, you'll have about 2.5 gigs of space being taken up by your extracted files, but you'll also still have 2.4 gigs being take up by the .rar file. After the extraction successfully completes, of course, the .rar file can be deleted and now you've got 2.4 gigs back, but if you don't have at least 5 gigs of space available on your device, even if you successfully manage to download this file, you won't be able to extract it.)

galaxy s3You mean a Samsung Galaxy S3? So I assume you're using an Android phone? Why didn't you answer my other questions? I'm trying to help you here. According to Samsung's website, the S3 has a potential memory storage of up to 64 gigs if you have the max-sized SD card in the phone, which is very inexpensive. That should be plenty of memory for a mere 2.4 gig download, even if you have to free up some space. And you also didn't say what software you're using to attempt to download. Have you tried the Mega Android app (assuming you're on an Android device)? What happens, exactly, when you attempt the download?

I also sure hope you're doing this downloading on WiFi and not trying to use your carrier's signal. You'll blow your monthly data quota out of the water in a matter of minutes otherwise.

I'm trying to help you here, but I can't unless you provide the information I requested.

Have you considered going to a public library, doing the download on one of their computers, extracting the files, and then copying them from the library PC onto your phone?

And one last question - why would you want massive surround sound files on a phone that only has stereo capabilities? The smallest file in this download is 01 Philosopher's Stone.flac, which is 217 megs for only 8 minutes of music. That's a big chunk of space for only 8 minutes of music on a phone.

It seems like it would make more sense to download the standard stereo soundtracks for the Harry Potter movies, which are readily available in mp3 here at FF Shrine.

Please don't get me wrong, if you really do want surround sound files on your phone, then I totally respect that. I'm just wondering if you've really thought out what you're trying to do here.

...that I've had great success with for quite some time now. Of course, I've been using it on Windows, but I see they have a MacOS version available. Unfortunately, there's a one-time license fee of $39, but I have found it well worth it. I have done dozens of audio conversions using dBpoweramp and have never had a problem, not even with surround sound files. (There's an option in the configuration settings to downmix files with "x" number of channels to 2-channel stereo.)

Or you might be able to find some other audio converter for MacOS that would do the job for free.
