Work in Progress~

Thread etiquette:
Please do not request end credits or rips for any movie that is not yet out in retail stores.
Early rips are bound to get DCMA hits.

Also please refrain from publicly posting anything to any Dolby Atmos movie.
Dolby Atmos rips get DMCA'ed first and the fastest over any other end credit rip.

Almost ready. I agree that it's quite nice to listen to. A lot.
For Hansel & Gretel, I think there were two parts to the end credits.
Part 1: some rock/metal song to go with the over-the-top action mood of the film and fancy credit titles.
Part 2: Atli's score. Very nice introduction. The bass is definitely worth cranking for this one.

Godzilla is already upped.

I've been busy, busy, busy.

I notice the opening to Godzilla is very clean, except for the ending part.
But, I think it should be fine with the non-music audio as it sets up the film atmosphere and story.

Coming Soonest:
There will be a Godzilla (2014) [Opening Titles] coming soon.

Some of the requests I can push forward as I have the sources available:

Coming Sooner:
Captain America
How To Train Your Dragon
Tron Legacy and Inception
Thor The Dark World
Battle LA

Other requests, I'll have to look into.
I'm pretty sure I got all the Harry Potter films. Or may have deleted them to make room.
I can just borrow off a friend for them. :)
"Asgard", I'll have to research to find out what that is.
If Asgard was a short video or animated video, finding a lossless source will be difficult.

Coming Soon:
Blood Diamond
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Pending Availability:
Asgard

POTC1234

Are on the list.
They will require some fancy footwork though, as I remember they tend to blend with previous cues and pause between cues.
I'll also have to find 4 again. I didn't like it enough to buy it, not even on DVD.

All Harry Potter End Credits would be outstanding, The Blue Butterfly, and even Man of Steel, edit of the last track and the End Credits, because they flow as one in a way.

Checked my archives, and Harry Potter will have to be grabbed again.
I've only bought The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 because it was in 3D and my friend only had the 2D boxset.

I'll have to look fro Blue Butterfly.

MoS will require a lot of footwork, as well.
I remember trying to do it previously, but couldn't settle on a valid point to edit.
I'll have to re-check the dialogue for the end scene.
I can't remember how discreet the center channel was with regards to the final mix.

I have Blue Butterfly on Blu-ray but I don't know the specs or anything like that, and I don't have a player to rip it to my computer either.

This is where I purchased it from, months ago... The Blue Butterfly 2004 Taiwan Blu Ray English Subs | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/321475901670?lpid=82)

---------- Post added at 02:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:01 AM ----------

Also Cloud Atlas would be nice, I think that the End Credits (Film Version) is longer than the one on the OST...I could be wrong though.

---------- Post added at 02:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:22 AM ----------

Also Kelebegin Ruyasi (A.K.A. The Butterfly's Dream) beautiful music, never released on Blu-ray as far as I know. I wish it was though, it's a wonderful film.

Ahhh, okay. By "Asgard" you really mean the "cue_title" by composer "Brian_Tyler".

For end credits with multiple points (in case of Marvel films: end credits #1, clip, end credits #2, post-credits clip), I just name them in parts.
End Credits Part 1
End Credits Part 2
So you can just re-tag it with the cue name you like.
I'm not overly fond with the soundtrack in general. Track titles are just a blur to me.

I've listened to Godzilla (2014) a lot by now, I should know track titles, but I always play it in the background and never check to see the title playing.

Thanks for the work, I'll add to first post.

Users should knwo that these are stereo conversions. So if you want to convert to MP3/AAC/OGG/etc, your work is already half done. :)
And they are also bit-accurate, I can vouche for.

The Walking Dead

Yes, that is mostly done. I just want to double-check for silence.
I want to make sure the points I faded in/out don't have low-level ambience like crickets and outdoor noises.

Also, I'm also gathering the seasons together to see which episodes have clean end credits per episode.
Granted, the end titles for each episode is generally under a minute, I still want to compile a list for those that work best.

Things have really picked up the past few days. Busy as ever.
I haven't forgotten about this project
Just trying to find time.

I found some other projects I had sitting on my externals (between 7 of them) that were gathering dust.
So now I'm thoroughly checking my externals for any more dusty titles.
Another day or so before some more stuff gets uploaded.

Also have a couple contirbutions pending further investigation.
Nevertheless, they will get posted.

(now to just compile listings to update the first post with other_user_contirbutions).

Great thread idea!! I actually have a playlist on my ipod that only consists of end credits suites and it is well over 750 movies now!! A lot I custom pieced together and edited. And some I created from scratch if the end credits featured a song (i.e. Batman, Dick Tracy).

I have an obsession with end credit cues I guess. LoL

Yar, I was thinking about those.
Wasn't sure exactly how to up the Marvel franchise.

I think I'll do it in multiple versions.
Single-track (all parts of the music + clips)
Segmented tracks (separate all parts of music + clips)
Then, of course, 5.1/2.0 mixes.

Sort of is if the sole intent is to "bump".

Generally, it's just better to contribute notable conversation material.
It'll resurface when I get around to posting new material.

I've just woke up from a long day yesterday with family so i can get back on track.

Once I finish my coffee.

I also just bought The Goonies on blu-ray, so going give that a watch and see if the end credits (or opening) is any good to use.

I hope you realize that's a small number.

Or remastered for IMAX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IMAX_DMR_films) (ie. fake-IMAX; which is most movies released in IMAX theaters).

But, the ones actually filmed with IMAX cameras, sure.
IMAX - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMAX#Feature_films_partially_shot_on_IMAX_cameras)

EDIT: Well, yes, some of the DMR films are on the list.

You also have to realize there are over 300 IMAX films; 327, to be exact.
Not even half of them have had a Blu-ray transfer.

And, for a lot of the ones that did, they can't be found so widely available unless I buy them.
Which, I have no interest in doing.

I see some titles on there that are on my "eventually" list.
But I need to make room on my externals, so what's on the immediate list will get higher priority until I can afford the space for some of the others.

Make sure it's popular! Small industries and small studio releases aren't likely to pop up on most sites.

Yeah, that can go on the list.
Since they're licensed artists (commercial radio type music; not film composing), I'll do my best to name them as artist/track.

IMHO, the greatest closing credits ever are from Otto Preminger's "In Harm's Way." Released in 1965, there was no way to touch on America's anxiety over the atomic bomb in a film set in 1942. Leave it to credit designer Saul "Apex" Bass to smuggle the thought in during the closing crawl. A closing credit sequence should be more than just a musical walk-off signaling to the audience that it's time to vamoose. Not only does Bass continue on with the film's anti-war theme, he propels it two decades into the future. The sequence is also more visually stunning than most features. Enjoy!

There's a folder of BD rips (actual BD disc rips) that are getting worked on right now.
Also sorting out half a dozen externals to make things look easier to look for.

---------- Post added at 12:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:10 PM ----------

I also want to revamp this thread to make it easier to naviate to different sections.

The first post will link to other posts with links.
I'll modify existing posts I made to have different downloads.
One post all my downloads, everyone gets their own post with directory links.

And the directory links will be the first thing you see in the first post, followed by spoilered, detailed, technical information.

When this next batch comes out, the requests will get worked on as much as possible.

Could I request a tutorial for doing this, removing vocals from surround tracks and cutting the required length audio out from video files using eac3to. The basic stuff excluding the equalizing , etc. basically just isolating the score out. Or has this already been done, I tried searching to no avail.

There's a few threads on this. Really old, though.

I don't do extensive editing.
In case of Iron Man 3, the post-credits scene has dialogue in the center channel only so that was all I edited. The surrounding channels were just music so I didn't have to do much.

In case of movies like Man of Steel where music cues segue into the next cue for the end credits, I leave for last or not do at all.
Trying to decide where to cut and fade-in the music to sound natural isn't easy.

But, I don't do excessive editing like a lot of the BRrip soundtracks here.

The Lord of the Rings, Extended Editions

They are. But the audio is in DTS-ES 6.1, so I won't be providing the original 6.1 audio.
I'll only provide 5.1 downmix and stereo downmix.

Eventually~
So caught up on so many things right now.

You have no idea how hard it is to keep 7 externals organized. With only 2 "USB 3.0" ports / 5 "2.0 USB" ports.

Just to give an idea of how much I have to filter out (duplicates, outdated, etc), rename, move, sort, etc...
Just one of my externals with movies, music, games and software.

There's also folders named "Work" with a bunch of incomplete projects.
The End Credits project is spanned across several externals, so I'm trying to syphon things to make room and keep things as consolidated as much as possible.
Even just converting movies to smaller files and DVD's so I can toss the remuxes for movies that I don't want to keep in original format.

Every week, even if I spend about 4 hours a day, there's still lots do for each folder.
And, then there's always updates on software and avisynth-related info, too (scripts, plugins, etc).

Everan Shepard
01-16-2015, 06:57 AM
And I thought I was busy. Well, if they sound great the downmixes, don't sound like hollow or something, that would be just brilliant!

Spark may I ask--just out of curiosity--what those +100K files are primarily made up of? Those are lots of files with an even more impressive amount of folders yet they are not that large in terms of disc space. In contrast, if I take my "Z:\" drive it has 115.106 files over just 3,207 folders (2.31TB) which is more than 99% music, and in line with what you made a screenshot of save for the amount of folders. But if I take my video files its 6.6TB with only about 200 folders, completely disproportionate to the former. So exactly how does your "J:\" drive contain remuxes?

No criticism, just curiosity.

Regards.

There's bound to be repeats, but I want to check manually.
Some folders will be as single-images, or different formats.
One may be tagged the way I like it or not at all.
I'm not leaving anything up to automated processes.

A couple full bluray movies in BDMV_Folder structure.
They need to be remuxed, but I need to find the proper playlist, as they're obfusticated so there's over 20 playlists to cross-refernce/check before I finalize which version to keep.
There's also some TV BD's that need remuxing.

Installers, plugins/filters (archived and extracted), examples, samples, scripts, saved site information from doom9, saved .txt files with snippets of information, past projects for reference, source files in case I want to try learn to compile my own from scratch. This severely needs to be sorted. There's outdated versions I can scrap, but need to check which ones I want to keep for legacy-purposes, etc.

Software is the worst of all.
SO many updates/patches/versions/variations/etc.
Even for just archival purposes in case I want to use it at some point.
Different versions of audio/video editors. A lot of freeware/opensource too. Compiling/developing stuff, just in case.
SDK's, sources, etc.
I need to really crop this down for deprecated versions.
202 GB (217,891,237,888 bytes)
6,790 Files, 999 Folders

A lot of them are not archived, because I need to sort them into new folders and reduce the overall number of folders (portable software) so I don't have to click through so many.
Rename them to user-friendly titles for clarity. Move all sources to new folder. Trim down a lot of the additional language supports (if it doesn't break general usage).
Since a lot of it is open source, there's a million different updates/versions to use, so I'm trying to archive a number of them for testing purposes.
Quite a few game-ripping utilities. A lot of old softare I've had for a long time that's barely named properly and have no idea what they are or what they do. :erm:

A "Work" Folder used for audio editing (End Credits, BDtoDVD conversions for AC3/DTS audio tracks, ringtones, personal encodes in AAC), video editing (BDtoDVD so a lot of finished encodes in M2V that still need audio converted, chapters copied and subtitles converted for DVD use). A few lossless intermediate files (converting BDtoDVD using Avisynth to resize in high bit depth precision; takes about 4-10 hours to create lossless intermediate with very HQ precision).
Converting BD audio to DTS for DVD is the most tedious. I don't use the regular 1509 for DVD conversions. That's too much for a wee DVD-9, so I don't extract cores. Instead I convert to the 756 DTS formats for DVD.
BD -> eac3to_to_W64 -> FFMPEG_to_WAV -> WAV_to_ffdcaenc -> ffdcaenc_to_DVD.
Such a long process as eac3to WAV isn't compatible with ffdcaenc.

A crap load of snippets of movies to test various Avisynth plugins/filters and do some test encodings with different things to do (interpolating to 48fps and various funky things).
DVD conversions to MKV (that I'm happy with; Legend of Zelda personal DVD's. I hate all encodes out there of this series).
Some photoshop projects from back in the day, too.

Oh yeah, and porn. Porn too.

In a nut shell.

Trying to consolidate all music, games, pics, porn and work projects to this external.
All movies, encodes and TV shows need to be moved.

The other ones are filled mostly with BD remuxes (movies and TV), some anime, some games, some music and TV DVD series.
Mostly BD remuxes though.

EDIT: I'll also throw in that anything that's "7.1 (strange setup)" on BD's with upscaled audio, takes up way more space as I have to use MakeMKV to remux the video and convert the audio to FLAC then work from there.

Also, remuxing 3DBD.iso takes up nearly double the space, as most of them are copied using AnyDVD so I have create new folder, copy all EXCEPT the Slysoft! folder and let MakeMKV remux it, as nothing else will remux with MVC (right-eye/3D data).
Thankfully, as soon as I got a 3.0 USB upgrade, that moved a long much smoother.

Very nice work! Saves me all the trouble

I've only got the extended editions, props on the Theatrical cuts.
Remuxing the second discs for the EE would be time consuming. My drive only rips at 4x, which takes about 30-60 minutes per movie.

The theatrical and extended versions are identical.

That's kind of surprising for The Hobbit.
I wonder if the text is the same for the credits, too.

Like if you were in theaters, you'd catch Thrain's name in the EE of TDoS in the end credits.
Or if they change the scroll speed between the two and changed the text for the two.

For the LOTR trilogy, the EE weren't released well after the Theatrical had its run, no?
I guess they're cutting corners with The Hobbit doing it like this.

Pitty, I'd much rather have more music composed for the EE of The Hobbits.

Any recommendations on storing data like this at these sizes?

Keep defragmenting.
Replace your externals after some time.
Use monitoring software for your drives to check their health.
Try not to move the external around. Keep it well ventilated and out of direct sunlight.
Don't have it plugged into your PC 24/7, only when you need it.
Unplug it from the PC whenever you install/update any software, especially Windows updates.
Don't use portable software on it, don't install anything to it.
Every 6-12 months or so, wipe the free space, defrag and wipe the free space again (since defragging moves that data and frees up previously occupied segments).

Portables, you have to be careful how you carry it.
It's not like a zippo lighter with a hard case.
It's more like a pack of cigarettes with a dinky cardboard case.

I've not had a drive fail on me yet (knock on wood).
I don't know how so many people ruin their drives or what they do.

Check for firmware updates (empty drive before installing in case you lost everything after firmware update).
Western Digital has a firmware update i could probably use, but I need to back it up completely first to ensure I don't lose any data.

Also, never use the crap software that comes with it.
It's all automated and very limited in how you can customize what you want backed up.
Automated processes/schedules spend too much time trying to synchronize data.
If you alter one file somewhere, you could easily lose it on the other device, depending what snychs first and what the rules for synching are.
A lot of people will use the software that comes with it, anyway. Since it's a lot to do it manually.

Also, keep all your antivirus/antimalware up to date, as you can easily infect your externals if you're not diligent.

Just an update:

Iron Man 3 is ready to up.
Just looking into hosts.

Transformers films are being worked on. Half of it, at least.
The first 2 films are just commercially lincensed music, so I won't be ripping those.
The LP songs are mixed to be a theater experience, with all the cutaways and sfx.
A large portion of how the song starts out for each film is blended in with the final scene of the movie, carried right into the end credits.
Sfx of all sorts, dialogue, etc.

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon has some score at the very end.
About 2min. worth of score.
I'm not usually all for ripping anything that short.

But since this is Jablonsky, and 7.1, I'm going to do it, anyway.

I believe there's score in AoE.
That will need to be converted using FFMPEG.

I also see in my folders that need to be worked on...

Hulk_2003
Hulk_2008
Punisher_1989
Punisher_2004
Punisher_2008

All of those will butchered. In some form or fashion.
A lot of them contain sfx, film mixing, or just commercially licensed music.

So, I'll have to try see what works best.
Most of Punisher 2004/2008 is nothing but commercial music.
But there are some parts that are worth keeping.

Punisher 2004 will get the guitar assassin solo'ed.
The mix for the film doesn't alter the volume in any way (ie. when the camera turns away from the assassin and looks at Thomas Jane, there's no change in audio to accomodate the camera position).

Sparktank or Calidoran, or anybody else that has ripped any end credit suites on here; have any of you ripped the end credits music for Halloween III: Season of the Witch? I know the expanded score has the Chariots of Pumpkins cue, which is essentially the same. But the end credits are slightly shorter and also don't have the sharp, synth zaps or stingers.

Currently working on:
Tron: Legacy End Credits (7.1 - amazing mix, by the way)
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Opening and End Credits (5.1)
Cloverfield End Credits (5.1)
The last two have some unnecessary SFX and will need some editing. Fortunately, they're easy to get rid of.
All sourced from BD DTS-HD MA decoded with eac3to and Arcsoft. :)

Halloween III: Season of the Witch

I only have the Rob Zombie Halloween films in my collection (I think).
I definitely don't have any of the original series, or interest.
Someone else will have to take this one up.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Opening and End Credits (5.1)

The USA remake?
Looking forward to this one, I remember checking the opening titles and loving that it was very clean to edit.

I've got the extended versions for the original Swedish versions.
IIRC, the Swedish opening titles have sfx and some voices (screaming or whatever).

Cloverfield

I have an edited version of Cloverfield on-hand.
The sfx can't be removed entirely, but it can be trimmed down significantly.
It's also TrueHD, is it not?

All sourced from BD DTS-HD MA decoded with eac3to and Arcsoft. :)

What version is your Arcsoft decoder?
Particularly, the "dtsdecoderdll.dll" ? The specific date of the version.

V1.1.0.0 (dated April 24, 2008) is the most succesful version used, to date.
Last known updated version of 1.1.0.9 is largely untested, and already shown to exhibit some limitations compared to v1.1.0.0.

Thanks for the reply Sparktank! I ripped the DVD credits years (probably in '06) ago, but they sound like garbage compared to the expanded score and the blu-ray. Figured I'd ask, since I never got the BR.

Wow... I know the best one is 1.1.0.0 (it's the only one that can handle the outdated format DTS-ES flawlessly), I've been using it for months, but I just checked and realized I've been using 1.1.0.9 for the past few weeks. Weird. I had forgotten about it. I have backups of most versions, so I'll revert to 1.1.0.0. Thanks for bringing that into my attention!

Did a search. It'll be the DTS core only.

But, having a look around, I can only find a 720p encode.
Not too many remuxes available or encodes with lossless DTS audio.
Finding a franchise pack is also pretty hard to find in original audio quality.

That one will have to do for now, until someone with better source can provide.

TAS2 is trimmed.
TAS1 and the 3 crybaby movies need to be trimmed. And reviewed. I know TAS has a lot of commercial music, but TAS2 has a bit Electro in surround sound.

EDIT: Reviewing Birdman...

Given the nature and style behind the making of the film, the end credits (as well as the opening) has some city-life ambience to it.
Sfx of people talking, cars passing by, cops on walkie talkies, etc or megaphones.
Some distinct swearing in it. So I'm going to have to put a rating label on it.

"Rated F for extensive usage of the swear word...
fuck
Listener discretion is advised."

The opening credits also has some minor dialogue preceeding the drums.
I suspect this the director collaberating with the composer/drummer.

The last musical cue at the end of the film segues/crossfades harshly with the end credit music.
There's also 2 sets of laughter: Gwen Stacy's laugh and a secondary laugh that doesn't match Emma Stone's own pitch and characterization.

I'm considering it keeping her laugh in with the secondary laugh, as it all would match the background noise inherent with the credit sequences.
And the "stage" feeling of the entire production.

It's just a nasty crossfade of the previous musical cue that's a droning sensation and then mixes with the high hats of the drummical music.

EDIT:
The opening credits is identical to the first track on the OST: "Get Ready".
With the exception of being surround sound.
Although, I have to open it on SoundForge and check if it's been mixed for surround sound or just crappy upmixed.

The end credits don't seemingly resemble anything on the OST.

Nearly. The movie end credits start off very different than that track.
After the start, I can't tell.

Soooner or later the drums all sound the same.
I'll have to do some quick comparisons after I install some nasty Windows updates.

Sure.

Still busy as ever.

Just checked The Hunger Games 3.
The end credits are mixed nicely.
Lorde, Lawrence and Howard all get their own time frame without any nasty crossfading.
Still trying to recompile to something workable.
It's in Dolby Atmos so it'll need a daisy chain workaround.

There's also a stereo track that's "optimzed for night viewing". It's just brickwalled compression. yuck.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but could somebody do a rip of the end credits of the original Ice Age by David Newman? The version we have currently tacked onto the end of the complete score doesn't sound like true stereo and sounds lower in quality. Also, it doesn't start like the end credits actually start in the film.

I'm downloading Interstellar for the sake of watching it, since I deliberately avoided it in theaters (and I could have watched it for free there) because this way I can control the volume. It's a painfully slow torrent though.

I'm not downloading the DTS-HD rip (17 GB) but the standard DTS rip (15 GB) simply because if it's worth it I'll purchase the film for extras and so on. I don't plan on blasting it and I know the actual perceptible difference between DTS and DTS-HD 5.1 is negligible at best. It's more of knowing it's one versus the other rather than being able to actually hear it.

Helix

It is excruciatingly slow though.

Correct, as DTS is the lossy 'core' audio embedded within the lossless DTS-HD audio stream.

But being able to hear the difference there....meh I doubt it. I think it would depend on what it is. Of course DTS can't do 7.1 audio like DTS-HD can.

I think after a certain point, the incremental improvements become so minor only a thorough analysis would pick up the major differences in between them.

But for the addicts and also for post-extraction editing, lossless audio becomes a priority. Apart from that, looking for something purely to listen to it, yeah, the difference is almost negligible.

"bit-exact" is the key words people look for.

DTSHDMA is lossless while all other formats of DTS are lossy.
Even DTSHDHRA (High Resolution Audio) is lossy.

Doing lossy to lossy causes another generation of loss.
If we have the power to reduce this loss, we will.

It's not about addiction.
It's doing it right the first time. :smrt:

I do admit I was talking about you and Calidoran and some others when i was talking about editing lossy audio is bad, etc.

Some people want lossless because they actually know/care what it means and what it can do for them. Some people just want lossless because hey, it's free so why not get the bestest, largest, premiumest thing around. Just because we can.

You're prolly one of the most knowledgeable people around here about all of this (seriously, you're the Shrine equivalent of a professor or something).

Calidoran
03-15-2015, 05:01 PM
Can't remember how much sfx and speech those scenes had, but it's quite difficult to remove them. Just because the bluray is out doesn't mean you will get top quality, music only rips. Unfortunately...

TheSkeletonMan939
03-15-2015, 05:13 PM
It really depends on the sound mixer. If he's lazy he'll just slap the SFX and dialogue in only the center channels and leave everything else alone (like in Wolverine and the X-Men). With a big-budget film like this... well, anything's possible, but I'd wager that the music won't be isolated at any point in the film.

That's the best version (qualitywise) i could find. Hope it's good enough. Had to do some "creative" fading at the start (because of SFX/speech/scream) and since it only had a stereotrack, it's not as good as i would have prefered. But there you have it :) finally

So I eventually decided to just do stereo (320kbps MP3).

I figure Sparktank can always edit a superior version sometime in the future.

:erm: Some of those are trailer edits using FHD/UHD trailers in lossless audio from that one place I go to (Premium subscription required).
I won't be posting those. At least, not here, anyway.

Tracks named "mono" are to be used for waveform creation. And another project.
For custom covers.
I'll "fingerprint" the movie and apply the fingerprint to the waveform of the end_credit_music.
Not the movie_audio track.

***[U]Rise of the Planet of the Apes won't get posted due to it being Patrick Doyle, as per forum rules.
I'm considering scrapping it as it's heavily mixed for film watching experience only.
The music flows through all parts fluidly.
The end credits is in three parts:
Part 1: Graphical End Credits
Part 2: Mid-Credits Scene (music + dynamic sfx ----- "dynamic sfx" means sfx in all 5 surrounding channels)
Part 3: Text End Credits
The music seamlessly mixes through all 3 parts, so any editing would be very rough and noticable.
There is no "best case scenario".
Either keep all 3 parts, complete with sfx.
Or cut out Part 2 and try your best to mix 1+3 (not very good, no clean end to fade out part 1 and throw in part 3).
Or cut parts 1&2 and leave out the hyper themes for part 1.
Or try separate Part 1 & 3 for individual tracks, breaking fluidity of music.

The ones labeled "edit" have been chopped up and remixed.
Battle LA is a relatively difficult one since the final cue for the film mixes with the end credits music.
SO I had to chop it up and remix it so it sounds cleanly cut.
I wanted to keep part of the previous cue that ends the film, but there's helicopter sfx in it.
Overall, it's not bad. It's just shorter than I would like the music to be.
They were stingy with the end credits to this film.
I used the "Remastered in 4K" bluray, but that doesn't matter at all.
The RI4K BD only upgraded the video and kept the same, identical, bit-for-bit transfer of the audio from the first BD release.
RI4K's don't upgrade their audio, ever; it's all about the video transfer.

"I Saw The Devil - Guitar Solo (MonoAsStereo)"
That's the scene where the antognist plays the guitar in his room.
The music is only in the center channel while the rest of the channels get white noise.
So I just remixed into Stereo, identical phase.
There was the option to convert to stereo using "inverted phase", but it didn't sound pretty.
If anyone wants to edit to different stereo with fancy editing, you can simply extract any channel for mono (since they're exactly the same).
Copied each channel at 100% each.

No Country For Old Men (2007) [Collectors Edition] is the same deal as Battle LA RI4K.
The first BD release only had LPCM audio.
The Collector's Edition came with DTS-HD Master Audio, for wider compatibility with DTS devices (since bit-streaming LPCM in 5.1 requires HDMI; whereas, using toslink or other cables would allow you to passthru lossy DTS core).
There's no difference between the LPCM and DTSHDMA tracks for the end credits to NCFOM.
This one required some miticulous editing.
I had to boost it to unfavorable levels just to see where the music starts and ends.
Once I saw where the music actually starts, I saved a marker at that position, undid all the boosting to bring back to normal state.
Then trimmed at the markers, allowing for an extra .250 seconds.
The audio was normalized by maximum peak because the music is incredibly quiet.
There will be several versions for this: Regular 5.1 (for those who want to edit themselves), Normalized 5.1, Regular 2.0, Normalized 2.0.

Some credits are split up due to commercially licensed songs included. : /
I've split these into parts.
Pacific Rim, Real Steel, and The Sorcerer's Apprentice will be provided as split parts.
The lincensed music will be provided for those who want it.
They'll be labled for clarity.

Still have yet to do a lot of end credits in Dolby Atmos.
eac3to updated to ignore Atmos_extension and provide default TrueHD_extension.
So I can work on several titles that are in Atmos: TMNT, Mockingjay Part 1, Age of Exinction, Unbroken.

Contributors will share a post all on their own.
The same as my post with download index.

Maybe one of the posts will be the basic information about software and techniques, including those of the contributors.
The other one discussing the various editing done to certain music (such as the end credits that have multiple splits/parts, etc)

Frankly I think it was a little hard to read before.

Yeah, the more I kept doing and writing, I found it harder to keep it all in one post.

At least this way, people can see where to click first and read later.
Once I get the links sorted, there'll be a quicker index at the top of the page of the first post to make it much easier.

I might even just shift everything down one post and merge tech info with my editing info post.
Contributors will still get their own posts for both links and info.

Changelog might move to the News/Updates post.

And the first post will eventually become the huge index for links and movie titles.
"Index" on there, right now, will get changed to "Table of Contents".

As I keep going along, it'll be more coherent.

Before I do any more, I've been playing with new eac3to that uses new DCAdec for 7.1 dts streams.

Took awhile to get back Se7en Remastered. My current copy was entirely moot. Don't know how or why, but the original remuxer didn't do anything right the first time.

This time around, I was actually able to remux and use eac3to on it.

The new dcadec library actually reads this 7.1 crapfest of an upscale.
It's 7.1 "strange setup". It's 7.1, but not a standard channel mapping of 7.1.
The channel mapping is all screwy.
Hardware receivers that can decode 7.1 will decode it properly.

Software won't, unless it uses dcadec. Which by now a lot is using it: ffmpeg, libav, eac3to.

This decoding library sheds new light on "strange setup".
In this particular case, the remastered audio is 6.1 express. Masked inside a 7.1.
Much like 17-23 bit depth is masked inside a 24 bit depth file (Oblivion, etc).

That's why I could never convert it properly and there was extreme audio malformations.
No idea what Arcsoft decoder was doing. ALL versions of Arcsoft decoder couldn't deal with "strange setup" properly.

Playing back the decoded 7.1, the back center is probably just double to back left/back right.

This should so much easier.

Now I can compare this with the other releases out there.
Canada had an open matte bluray (1080i) with LPCM and DD audio only.
Italy had a 5.1 DTS-HD MA track, probably the exact same transfer as the LPCM track, but converted to DTS-HD MA, which in that case makes zero difference.

I want to run through all DTS 7.1 tracks and see how they turn out.
I even want to re-run anything that's >5.1, really.
All the LOTR in 6.1, etc.

With DCAdec only.
Arcsoft is now useless.

Does it reduce possibilities of clipping or something like that?

So, I'm starting to think about making a new End Credits thread since this one is sort of unhelpful now.

In preparation for it I'm trying to figure out how to use eac3to, since Sparktank was such a big supporter of it in demuxing audio tracks. I suck at it, though.

Is anyone here good with eac3to and can give me some tips on it; i.e., tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Man of Steel Outro (Credits) 48kHz/24-bit - DTS HD Master - 8Ch (Surround) - Lossless

info: EAC3TO for ripping dtshdma 7.1 lossless track in to flac lossless. Then Audacity for splitting out only the outro part w/o any degradation at all. Conclusion is, full quality trimmed track (for credits only) w/o any quality loss at all.

my favorite end credits is to the 1991 'Cape Fear' movie; it starts off with the main theme before going into ambiance and sound effects relative to the film climax, before coming to a very nice shriek sound. it fits the whole horror/suspense fit with the film to a tee. i dunno if it's been posted or mixed out there but hopefully should they decide to, i'd love to hear it. ^^ the original soundtrack sadly doesn't have it, which is understandable but unfortunate.

To get the audio from my Blurays (as I enjoy listening to movies when I go for long drives sometimes, weird, I know) copy them, or the specific chapter using DVDfab (or a similar program) then I use the "HdBrStreamExtractor" that is contained with eac3to usually and extract the HD audio to the Sony WAV64 format.

The only issue I have had with this method is that with 7.1 audio, the side surround and rear surround channels are swapped, so I open the file in Audition and swap the channels accordingly. (SSr to RSr).

Hope this helps :)

Here's Ice Age (https://mega.co.nz/#!uJkRCTAI!Rw9VxgV1KtDOfwThv4ZGcGJ_Jeg1d4WuZ4fAtyn G3xY). After Handbrake refused to process the 5.1 audio, I just decided to import the audio straight from the VOB files, which came with its own difficulties. So I eventually decided to just do stereo (320kbps MP3).

I figure Sparktank can always edit a superior version sometime in the future.

MEGA is good. so is zippyshare

I'm not going to expose my MEGA again like that.
I'm on my second MEGA account so going to keep it as private as possible to avoid DMCA takedowns.

Zippy has a 30-day lifespan on files before they get deleted.
Plus a 200MB filesize limit, so everything would have to get split into parts.

It would be nice if there was an external service that would download crap for you (server to server) just to keep files alive.

I do actually!

I just finished moving everything to the 5TB external.
All my project files are on there now.
Just defragging it.

I can copy those out and double-check them before upping in 7.1/5.1/2.0|FLAC/ALAC/AAC/MP3.

The Conjuring also going up soon, too.

---------- Post added at 07:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:11 AM ----------

Actually, let me re-rip it again from disc.

The archived version uses old eac3to version with Arcsoft.
I will do it again with updated eac3to and updated dcadec. :smrt:

I can get it. But remuxes are much smaller to grab.
Patience definitely pays off.

The Atmos track will be decoded simply as a standard TrueHD 7.1 track and often have average bit depth of 20.
Because it's Atmos bluray, I'll have to create a new account at some filehose somewhere as Atmos end credits get DMCA'ed the most and the fastest.

An update for posting in this thread.

Let's try avoid any DMCA hassles.
With the controversy over BvS ost, let's keep it any attention focused on that instead.

From first post:

Work in Progress~

Thread etiquette:
Please do not request end credits or rips for any movie that is not yet out in retail stores.
Early rips are bound to get DCMA hits.

Also please refrain from publicly posting anything to any Dolby Atmos movie.
Dolby Atmos rips get DMCA'ed first and the fastest over any other end credit rip.

With that, I will not be publicly posting links for In The Heart of the Sea and I ask all others not to do so either.
We are not invincible and must take precautions.

It's The White Whale Chant..?

Um yes after listening the OST I realized that :) But still want to have a surround lossless version of it too.

edit: I just love female vocals like that. In BvS superman suite and the first track (Beautiful Lie) of the OST has that part as well. Hans did a great job, he added an extra flavor to the MoS soundtrack.

Still revising this thread.

Since the end credits were the biggest reason for my old MEGA account getting taken down from too many DCMA hits,
I'm going to be looking over certain bluray titles to see what could be causing the most htis.
Cinavia-protected blurays and blurays with Dolby Atmos audio streams might be the biggest contributors to DMCA takedowns.
It's not a matter of encrypting or changing names or going by PM's.
Dolby Atmos movies seem to be protected by Cinavia. The takedowns I recieved were for Atmos movies.
Not all newer movies are protected by Cinavia, but older movies certainly aren't.

I, personally, won't be upping anything for Dolby Atmos blurays or ones known to be protected by Cinavia.
Others can, I won't stop them.
But, make sure the title doesn't belong to a Varese label.

music that may NOT be posted for legal reasons
Thread 49829

Movies with music belonging to Varese should be extended to bluray edits, as their music is in the film.

Once I revise a list of Cinavia-protected films, I'll be able to start upping things again.
And even outsourcing to other editors.

That should be safe.
I think only the newest one with the mermaids has Cinavia protection on it.
I can create a ghost account on mega for cinavia titles. It's just matter of making a new email account somewhere that doesn't rely on SMS texting for verification.

No idea if this place still lives but, the King Kong suite of 2005, can it be ripped and stuff?

King Kong 2005 is a bit tricky. The last music in the film before the credits continues into the credits.
There is a spot to cut the music for the credits but I think they're all the same cue. The start of the credits has the tail end of a cue in the film.
The rest of the credits is fine, but you miss about 1-2 minutes since it's all continuous.

I'd love to see a blue-ray rip of Heat's end credits. Not sure if that's a popular one, though. It's a little sad to see this thread not thriving any loner, though. I personally love end credit suites and love when people post them. It's a nice way to get a feel for a movie's score. Although now days it seems like songs or just tracked edits of the score are used for most end credit suites.
