Anyone have a rock-solid strategy for defeating Trema?

*Warning Spoilers about Chapter 5 Bevelle Below This Point*

He’s on the top floor of the Bevelle Palace.. and its required to beat him for 100% completion.

I killed him with 10 hp left on one of my characters (at the end of the battle) with a lucky critical hit.. after a 4-5 hour long battle and multiple retrys.

His stats are:
HP: 999999
MP: 999
EXP: 10000
AP: 50

Gil Drop: 10000
Gil Steal: 300

STR: 255 | DEF: 255 | AGL: 128 | EVA: 99 | ACC: 26 | LUCK: 0 | MAG: 255 | MAG DEF: 255

Elemental Stats:
Fire: none
Water: none
Lightening: none
Ice: none
Gravity: invalid
Holy: none

Status Immunities:
ALL

Basically… he has about 300x more HP then the final boss… and is FAR deadlier

Man.. this is Emerald Weapon all over again… cept without the KOTR and mime 🙁

If anyone can come up with a GOOD way of defeating him I’ll be much obliged (don’t wanna rely on luck the next time through)

And no, I am NOT exaggerating on any of those stats, scan him and see

you shoud try equipping the cat nip item to someone that has trigger happy lvl 3. that’ll take away 9999 every hit.

I usually equip the The End Garment Grid, pass through the gates, mix a Potion and a Dark Matter, and then pound away with Finale.

Oh! You probably don’t have all that. Um, okay. Equip whatever’s your best dressphere. Equip accessories that max HP like a Crystal Bangle or any other really good accessory. Toss any useful items that you have and switch into special dresspheres if needed. Watch out for his special attacks like Meteor and Falling Leaf. Meteor (and his Meteor is very strong) is triggered after cutting off certain portions of his HP.

I forgot how to beat Trema. Let’s see. What I would do is equip Yuna as a Mascot, then either Rikku or Paine as the Gunner (w/Cat Nup) and the other as Dark Knight (unless you want to try for another Mascot).

Yuna should heal/protect with her abilities, and Paine should just heal with items while Rikku uses Trigger Happy in critical condition. As long as you keep YP healed and Rikku weak, you shouldn’t have much of a problem. Espeicially if you have learned all of the abilities on those dress spheres and are at a high level.
