What about the possibility of getting both the Ragnarok sword AND the "Ultima" spell?
A friend of mine swears that Gau learns Ultima on his own without any magicite at a high level, and that Strago seems to have some way of eventually learning it, but he doesn’t know how. But my friend took Ragnarok the sword instead of the magicite and still got to cast Ultima with Gau, and with Gogo ;-), and got 2% of Ultima learned with Strago. Any ideas?
Anyone???

Who cares?
Ultima isn’t very useful, especially compared to the Illumina sword which can only be gotten via Ragnarock sword.

Gau learning it through leveling is a possibility, I’m too lazy to look it up or use Gau to find out. >.>

Alpott, don’t just post pointless remarks, okay?

I found Ultima useful. It did 9999 damage, if i Remember correctly. That’s enough for my taste. I also love the number.
9999.

It does indeed do 9999 damage.

Equip the relic you get from the Tower of Fanatics on Terra, and have Gogo follow her up.

Godliness.

raganrok isn’t even the bes sword so u should get the esper to learn ultima the easy way.

This can certainly happen:

– The Paladin Shield teaches Ultima

– Doesn’t the Ragnarok Sword itself teach Ultima too?

Oh, and I’m pretty sure it’s actually possible to have both the Esper and the sword, ’cause you can steal a Raganarok sword from one of the three statues.

Since there are other swords, I prefer getting the Esper. I am a collector of magic becasue it has never let me down, and Tower of Fanatics is physical-proof.

But again, the sword also gives you Ultima.

Then get the dumb esper.

BTW, Which Esper is it?

I beg to differ, I believe Ultima is incredibly useful. I made sure every single character had it learned. I love that spell.
