Included as a bonus disc show casing how far PS1 development had come, Namco revamped the original Ridge Racer to a level few thought possible when the game first launched. In addition, they gave it a couple nice songs to go along. Couldn’t find it anywhere else so here they are. This was released as a 2nd disc to Ridge Racer Type 4.

"AudioTrack03" is called "Grip", there’s a remix of this on Ridge Racer V from Kohta called "Grip Millennium". "Grip" is probably my favorite song Ridge Racer song of all time. But I do remember this disc, and the fact that it came with Type 4, thanks for the upload.
Did you know….: For you beatmania fans out there, if the name "Kohta" rings a bell, it’s because he made "RESONATE 1794" from beatmania IIDX RED. A few more beatmania artists also made song for Namco, like sampling masters MEGA (rottel-da-sun, 1st Samurai) and sampling masters AYA (Wow Wow 70’s, one or eight). If I’m correct, Takayuki Ishikawa (famously known as dj TAKA) produced the music for Nebula’s Ray and even Point Blank.

I agree, Grip is a terrific track and it is essentially the reason I ripped this in the first place. The remix on the Ridge Racer Respect fan album is not bad either but nothing really compares to the original. Is this the first appearance of the track by the way?
