Simple. It’s because FFXI subscriptions are still making money for Square Enix (in fact, believe it or not, it’s SE’s most successful game in term of revenue brought in – yes, it’s made more money for SE than all FFVII sales and crappy Compilation tie ins released combined!). So yeah, it will never be free to play.
Also this is an ancient thread that I hate to break to you was an old moderator’s April Fool’s joke so yeah, it doesn’t exist. 😉
Hence, this thread is going back to it’s digital grave for good.
