Does anyone know the Japanese names of the FF7 characters, for example Cloud’s name isn’t Cloud in japanese it would have a different pronunciation beings that this game was created in Japan.

Im particularly interested in Clouds name since his English version is blah, any posts are appreciated.

If you’re going to lock this please let me know why or even a POLITE PM would be appreciated, thanks. This is a legit question, IMO its pretty interesting to know what the "original" ff7 characters names were since the game was first thought up over in Japan.

Aeris is Aerith but it is still pronounced Aeris, and because you are looking for pronounciation it would be Aeris, which complicates everything and I am not sure what I am talking about because I have no Japanese knowledge and I don’t plan to get any in the near future or any future at all. Maybe during the end of time if I somehow hitch a ride with Chrono and pals, but I doubt that will happen because that game makes little sense with the time traveling and just with them going back in time would start a ripple that would change the gamne completely, yet it was a good idea and a fun game. Now I am so off-topic that I can not be helped.

Aeris – iarisu (ee ahh ree su)
Cloud – Kuraudo (Ku rao do)
Tifa – Teifua (tey fu a)
Sephiroth – Sefuirosu (sey fui ro su)

It’s suppose to be in katakana but I’m writing it in romaji form…. otherwise yOu can’t read it. 😀

Woa we got some funny twisted names for the characters in the japanese version.

It’s not twisted. The reading is almost the same or should be the same… the spellings are just replaced with japanese "alphabets" instead.
