So I have this problem. It’s at the lake in Macalania during the cutscene with Tidus and Yuna in the lake. Everything will be going smoothly, but right before it changes to HD, the sound suddenly stops, and Tidus and Yuna will stay still for about 3 seconds before rapidly turning their backs on me. Then they just stay like that and nothing happens after that, but it’s not frozen since I can still see them moving. I’ve actually encountered this problem before, and I could never figure out why it was happening, so obviously it had to happen again. If anyone’s had this problem before or has any idea what’s going on I would really love to know. Haven’t gotten anywhere with googling it.

I remember that my game had a glitch at that exact same point, too. It played fine for the first couple years I had it, but then around 2005 or so I tried playing again, and the entire scene just stalls, cuts to black, and skips the HD scene altogether.
Sorry I’m pretty sure this doesn’t help, but it could be an issue with the game itself. Maybe?

It’s posessed.
No but it sounds more like an issue with your disc or your ps2 (or whatever you play it on). When music CD’s skip, it’s usually because the CD is in bad condition or the stereo is messed up; I don’t think that it would be "off-target" to say that this might be the issue.
