Key Item – Feathers for the Great Cockatrice Escape

I think I may have missed this key item for the Great Cockatrice Escape sidequest. Supposedly I should’ve checked an urn for these "feathers" in the Crystal Glade Area (during the rainy season) once I had completed the Gil Snapper hunt.

Will this urn reappear when the rains return, or am I out of luck and won’t be able to do the Great Cockatrice Escape sidequest?

I got the feather WHILE I was doing gil snapper hunt (actually while I was running around waiting for it to be raining heavily so he’d show up), so I don’t think timing is that important. Make sure you check the area carefully… it’s off in a hidden corner somewhere.

I believe the urn is always there as long as on you have access to the area (rainy season, bridge, etc). Search the SE corner, it should be there.

Thanks guys, I’ll make sure to check the area more thorough. Now if only the rains would return…

PS – It’s starting to really bug me that I don’t have the item cause now the Cockatrices are all over the fricken world of Ivalice.

So, if you plan on completing the Great Cockatrice Escape sidequest, take care to grab this item when you defeat the Gil Snapper. Once the rains that are connected to that mark are gone, so is the item it seems 🙁

I got it after killing the Cluckatrice.

Hmm, strange. I dunno anymore, haha. Too many details in this game. Maybe when I have a second go at it I’ll read the whole guide FIRST then start the game…*sigh*

i remember i got it before i killed him. before he ever appeared. it was just regular rainy maybe. but not rainy enough for the mark to come out. i don’t think it matters…
