I’m playing this game for a second time now and i still
cannot work out what "Jinx" is supposed to do!
Maybe it lowers a fiends luck or something?
Plus "Aim, seems pointless, only ever used it instead
of a defence move!

You said it. It lowers the luck of all enemies. Aim is useful if an enemy has high evasion.

If you have max stats, it’s unlikely you’ll ever need to bother with most of the defense moves. Cheer is all I’d use if I had 255 defense, and that would only be for Penance. Aim is good if an enemy has high luck and can evade your attacks normally, but that can be countered with Luck yourself.

Jinx is a attack (or spell or whatever you want to call it) that decrease’s the entire enemy party’s luck stat.

Those defensive moves or whatever aren’t really all that useful. Maybe in the beginning when your stats are low, then provide some sort of assistance, but I’m not sure how much of a boost you get each time you use it, so..

Each use of the skills will raise their respective stat by 1/15. For example if you use Cheer 5 times, you will do 1/3 more damage, and will receive 1/3 less damage. Couple that with Protect and Defense +20% and you reduce physical damage by almost 75%.

Very interesting that Jewels, i’ll keep that in mind, especially as i am fighting
Yunalesca in about five minutes time! 🙂

When you use defence systems like "Aim, Luck, Focus, Reflex and Cheer",
do they only affect the battle you are doing at the time or does it boost
your stats in the game in general?

Jewels

Of course only in battle. It would be too easy otherwise. Also note, if your character dies in battle, they’ll lose all of the effects and you’ll have to recast them.

Yes, i was aware of the re-casting.
Thanks for your help!
