FF Tactics or Shining Force

Yea i know Shining Force isnt a FF related game, but for all those who played it know its similarities to Tactics. I’m just curious to see which one you guys thought was better (ups and dows, the usual).

In my opinion i liked the Shining Forces better, but i have no idea why. Tactics is the better game overall, but for some reason im more fond of SF

Well, I have to give Shining Force some credit, because without it, Tactics probably never would have even been made.

They both had interesting stories, and good gameplay, but I think Tactics is the better game.

That said, Disgaea pwns them both.

Disgaea pwns FF Tactics?

I must find this game.

Personally, I love both FFT and SF, as both have their good and bad points. But, I guess I’ll have to say SF, at the moment at least, as I’ve recently gone back to playing both Shining Force and Shining Force II on the Mega Drive, and even after nearly a decade both haven’t lost their shine (no pun intended).

They’re still very hard (especially II, where enemies have a bad habit of suddenly overwhelming your forces and wiping out the main character), but enjoyable. Not to mention the interesting cast of characters who come from a wide variety of backgrounds, classes and species, ranging from humans to talking animals and even hybrids like centaurs and birdmen. I still think Jogurt from the first one was rather fruity though (yes, that pun was intentional! lol).

Here’s hoping a remake of Shining Force III, complete with all 3 scenarios, is in the works for the PS2, seeing as how SF seems to eb making a comeback with Shining Force IV on the PS2 in development and the earlier Mega Drive releases getting rereleased on the GBA. Still, I can dream…

wait… shining force 4 is coning out for ps 2?
