For me it would have to be
Neal Morse
James Labrie
agreed. He’s a great vocalist, and guitarist 🙂 I never get tired of listening to Opeth. Seeing him sing live is an amazing experience. It doesn’t seem like he could sing like that lol
I know exactly what you mean, his clean vocals are so beautiful and when he growls it hits you like a punch in the face.
Another person to add on my list of favourite vocalists is Jeff Buckley.
both Tegan and Sara Quinn
Kevin Barnes
having some trouble thinking of the people’s names know so maybe more later.
I’d say my fave is Chuck Billy. After over twenty years and cancer, his voice is still so powerful.
also,
James LaBrie
Eleanor Friedberger
Bjork
Cristina Scabbia(LC arent that good, but she has a super voice. plus, she’s hot lol)
Jemina Pearl Abegg
most female singers that dont screech i pretty much <3 tbqh.
but umm…
Cristina Scabbia
Mikael Akerfeldt
Justin Furstenfeld
Neal Morse
its 3.48am OK
All joking aside, here are some of my favorites.
Jack Black
Shanti Snyder
Shawn Macpherson (the main vocalist on the DMC3 ost, I believe)
Plumb (forgot her real name)
Matt Theisson
Rob Beckley
Trey Parker (I think he’s the main vocalist of DVDA, could be Matt Stone)
or
Cedric Bixler Zavala of the mars volta
Agreed, David Draiman is awesome, and Jonathan Davis is my favourite singer of all.
Anyway, I agree with Olde that Chuck Billy is the best metal vocalist. I love his work, as well as Jens Kidman from Meshuggah. Phil Anselmo is pretty cool sometimes, and I’d say James Hetfield is my absolute favorite even though he’s slipped up a lot over the years. Regardless, in his prime his voice was the best in metal as far as I’m concerned. Blah Blah
I like Cedric from TMV, Maynard from Tool, and Cristina from Lacuna Coil a lot as well, all of whom were already mentioned.
Others: Mavie Marcos from Andain, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Colin Meloy from the Decemberists, Weird Al (he can sing really well despite the silliness), Madonna (who is obviously not near the best in the world but a shit load better than she gets credit for, and I just like how unique her voice is), Chris Cornell, Devin Townsend from Strapping Young Lad and his solo stuff, Layne Staley formerly of Alice in Chains (rip), etc. I’ll stop there I guess.
Any of the Temptations
The chick that sings country songs at my bar on karaoke nights. Seriously I despise country, but I could listen to her read the phonebook and it would be heavenly.
