does yuna really need more exp points to level up than rikku or paine?

What is the point in that? Honestly? You use them for the same amount of time and such. Did Squenix just decide come to the realization that this game was severely lacking and they needed to add something else to make it a tad bit more challengly, and this was their half-assed effort to accomplish that?

I think they did it like this so there is a sort of variation within the levels. Since you have all three characters with you at all times, with the exception of the first few batters, they will easily have nearly the same EXP. throughout the entire game, and they will always be the same level as one another.

Also, they might have made Paine level up faster so you have another reason to get to like her character more, being that she is a completely new character.

It kind of reminds me of Kingdom Hearts EXP system. Sora, I believe, took the most EXP to max out. Donald and Goofy both took less to max, again on a sliding scale.

Actually you dont use them the some amount of times. Rikku and Pain get a head start right at the beginning of the game, when they have to fight against LeBlanc’s goons. Even with at head start Yuna still shouldn’t be as far behind as she is.
The best why to bring her up past the others is to equip her with the lady luck sphere that as double EXP. Thats what I did and now she’s about 10 lvls higher than Pain.

That’s easy to explain, because often you’d have a different partner instead of Goofy or Donald, like Tarzan or Ariel for example.

However you don’t solo with Yuna all that mcuh.

I thought the amount of EXP it took Sora to level up was based on how you answer those questions at the start of the game; sometimes you’ll level up really quickly to start with and slow up later, and sometimes you’ll have a slow start and speed up later. Either way though, you’d get to level 99 at pretty much the same point.

And yeah, Paine does take less EXP to level up, I noticed that pretty much right from the start. I never worked out why, but I wasn’t bothered either, I could live with Yuna being a slightly lower level than the rest. :-p
