Of course you can delete handles, apart from your first one, which can only be modified. It’s done in PlayOnline Viewer, in the Friend List. You can create multiple handles seperate for your first one though, which can be deleted easily, and are helpful if you have several people using the one account.

Your default handle can also be changed and edited easily enough, as the handle is simply a profile you use which other users can identify you while on PoL or FFXI. Simply select ‘Friend List’ from the PoL Main Menu, and select ‘Handle List’. Select your default handle from the list, and you’ll then be able to modify it’s profile. If it is the default handle, you cannot delete it as far as I’m aware, although profile information can be easily modified.
