Notes:
I have recorded through ALL Mission's of the game, many are the same
so i picked out the one's that has it own special Theme, so nothing is alike in this RIP.
There is also Soundtracks from Mexico, and places like "Tall Trees", so you won't be disappointed.
I also recorded ALL Ambiance sound's that people missed from the Official Soundtrack :(
So this is pretty much 90% Complete, there might be something i missed, but hey, im only
human, and the only one so far to make a rip of this game!

These are in 250kbps, MP3 and nicely tagged with Artist and Album, and Titles!

I was curious whether you have, or are able to make a rip of a specific mission song, prominently heard throughout the final mission "The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed". Somebody had created a somewhat low quality rip of it some time ago and posted it on YouTube (link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAWy0H976XU)), and titled it "Marston's Redemption". Would you happen to have a rip of this piece already?

Also, I'm not sure whether this may make all that much sense, but there was a piece I heard in Blackwater, primarily during the night time. This piece was a quiet one with sounds similar to a xylophone (?) in it. I can't find a link that has the piece in it where you can listen to and sort of get the idea of which music I am referring to. I'm sorry about this one. But if you do know what I am talking about, would you be able to rip this song as well?

The "I" Stands for The Irish Man, you do certain missions from him through out the game.

The songs have a good sound. the only thing I can say is that there's a little noise in the background.
But for a line-in recording, this one has great sound.

There was about 4-5 hours actually, but Many of the songs are the same in missions, so this is why i didn't include them because we don't need the same songs in one rip now do we?

I used one day to rip this, i ripped from 2PM to 12:15 AM :)

Have you edited the ambience themes in any way? Sometimes the instruments don't seem to fully 'die out'. It isn't really noticeable though.

Yeah i have edited them, because there was big "Gaps" in them.. several seconds with silence.. i did alot of cutting and etc so it wouldn't have long gaps.

Yeah I don't blame you, I personally don't mind the silence I thought it brought a different feel to the music, calmer and less forced, but I think a lot of the tracks sound better without it. Good work.

Wow wouldn't you know it, just as I start something someone finishes the same thing. I was working on a rip as well. I've got 27 tracks at the moment, but they're only ambient music from New Austin and West Elizabeth. The action score is too hard for me, it's too dynamic and I'm a novice with sound editing.

Do you plan on releasing the score in a higher quality than 250kbit/s? I once recorded some stuff and checked for lossless authenticity, but got lazy recording the stuff. There are hours of music in the game, lots of cues, lots of layers, I'm pretty sure this is not more thhan 50% instead of 90 ;)

I don't have any other plans for releaseing another album no.
As for the 50-90% thing, i went through all missions, all locations, etc.
Many of the tracks where the same, and just looping.

Maybe there is alot that i missed, but i did however get mainly many of the "Most wanted" Tracks.

Sad, the constant noise is bugging me and some tracks seem to contain the death-cues instead of the clean gems. I guess I will buy the game again, when it gets cheaper and do a lossless rip of some parts where possible.

It's in every track. I only got rid of this problem while ripping stuff from the PS3 after using the digital TOSlink output instead of the usual analog method. I also use headphones.

Well, when i ripped Red Dead Redemption i just plugged a HDMI cable from my TV to my PC, then set some settings in my computer to Line-In and then "Listen to Device"
That way i could record using a Music Editing program. (ACID PRo)

It was pretty easy and there were NO SFX sounds except those "text pop-ups" that you might hear im my Rip.
And for the Xbox settings i turned SFX and Voices and 0, and left the music on 100% :)
That's it.

That's what i'v done for most of my rips.
Pretty easy, only takes time and effort.

Well, of course I meant some kind of way to play the game to get the most out of the music. I heard a couple of "game over" music stingers in your cues and I would like to avoid that. On PC, cheats like slow motion and god-mode are often possible. With those console-only games, it often is impossible to get those reliefs. On other games like Blood Stone, the levels are timed, and you can't get the full music used if there is no way of slowing down the gameplay.

And I have a very good hardware to get noise-free lossless recordings. As I mentioned before, I use the toslink output of my PS3 and record it with an external Terratec sound drive. That's how I did the Heavy Rain gamerip, which unfortunately uses lossy 192k MP3 files.

By the way: I just found some tracks from Red Dead Redemption I tested my hardware with back in May '10. Here it is:

I haven't found a cheap copy of RDR yet, I don't want to spend more than 25 EUR just for ripping the music.
