Do you know who composed it? As far as I know, they licensed the trailer cues. And audio directors Bredin, Chris Babelian and Muller wrote the temp music for the game.

I got it off a friend to make the MP3 version for my iPod, but I've got the WAV version backed-up somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it up. It's around 50MB, so it'll take me just a little while to upload once I've found it.

Highly possible. Unlike Uncharted 2, the cutscenes are NOT prerendered movies, so their music can be isolated completely.

My download program automatically extracts stuff so I often miss parts of a release when the zip doesn't contain a folder properly named.

By the way, which logo should I use for the future release? Some artworks feature this one.

I know, in the game's Main Title sequence they used the other one. Cage once said, Fahrenheit is the "official" name of Indigo Prophecy, so I kind of thought of using the EU logo for Heavy Rain, too.

Maybe you are mixing something up. There is no soundtrack on the disc itself nor a CD, you have to download it from PSN (you need a code which is included in the SE). But there are only 7 tracks included with the main themes, the iTunes release has more material.

ok. perhaps the psn download may offer a lossless or high quality format. if not perhaps something else may pick it up if its good enough. if its only 7 tracks it will be the promo soundtrack some games usually get via a cd.

I will prepare the download next week and here is why:

As you may have noticed, a lot of tracks (like cue 003) sound pretty bad. At the moment, I am trying to get new hardware to record that stuff in lossless. If it works (never heard from anybody, who actually managed to record lossless sound from a PS3...), I'll rip the tracks again and upload them in better quality. Hope it works, the quality really annoys me...

I'll keep you updated and sorry for the wait ;)

I heard they wanted to use the main character themes and some of the action passages, I doubt there is any unreleased material on the SE. But in a couple of days, we will know for sure.

By the way, some tracks in the game are badly edited, you can even hear Normand sometimes ending a cue with "OK." ^^

I'll have a look at those chapters. You mean the disco/trance kind of stuff, right? If you have a look at the end credits, you may get to know the song titles and download them from somewhere else, I guess.

Nope, first the songs are in the fx-channel, so you can't isolate them. And second, the audio frequency is cut-off at 32kHz. SO, which songs are still missing?

The only song that's missing from the list I originally posted and that's not in my zip is "Broadcast News", but that's the little blurb that plays before the news report at the end of the game and not really much of a song (it might actually be included as one of the cues later, like "Headless Horseman" was in your first set of cues). All the rest of them are there.

Hmm there aren't many songs in the game at all. They just replay the same songs over and over, about 98% of the time.

Not exactly, they recorded up to 10 different versions of a cue to cover all required moods.

Big props to you for your work on this! This is far better than the, lets be honest, mediocre score that was officially released. Look forward to hearing the rest!

Back in business, I re-encoded the files with a better codec (LAME) - the spectral analysis is now a lot clearer - and it's uploading right now. Don't worry, more cues wil come soon.

And there are at least 15 minutes of music I couldn't include because they were not played in full in their respective chapter. I hope they appear later in the game again in a compete fashion.

The song is not in the game, just in that demo. It was either licensed or composed by one of the audio technicians who worked early on the game. It's not a score cue by Corbeil.

Sadly it isnt exactly the one ive searched, as it slightly differs from the one iam searching for weeks in acceptable Quality.

The Song i've been searching is if i remember correctly called "Nick Ingman & Terry Devine-king mars"...
It tends to sound a lot more furious than the previous posted one, and because of that case, better imo.

So my Question, would somebody who got that song, be so kind to post it here ? :)

I uploaded all cues, that I could find in the game in a complete version. Around 10 minutes are still missing and will probably ever be. When the next DLCs come out, I will check them for "new" tracks. I watched the first DLC on Youtube and there seems to be at least one cue that I couldn't find in the main game. We will see.

If you really need the songs, just go to audionetworkplc and download or record the samples. There are multiple versions of those songs used in Heavy Rain, so uploading all the cues would be massive.

I can see where you're coming from, but it is definitely a remake of Medievil.
It's very similar to action themes used in movies in the way that it uses this instrument or sample that goes "tsk tsk tsktsk" during the entire song.

Kinda hard to explain.

Corbeil had nothing to do with that remix. It's a temp track by two sound designers, who did all the temp music for the game. They included that track in the very early previews from Heavy Rain, when Corbeil had not wrote anything yet.
I don't know, if Medieval is the source of all this (also heard the music in Nocturne (1999) and Fear Factor), but the music definitely is public domain.

All tracknames are selfmade (the PS3 files are not tagged properly). I used the official titles from the OST where possible. Yes, I spent a lot of time finding out which track has been written for which scene in order to make a chronologic presentation of the score.

I just had another look at the game files and finished extracting all the music. 213 cues, 159 min. Some tracks are redundant, so don't expect a much longer release. But it's coming I promise!

Reposting at the request of, Jakah. I also wanted to mention that Mr. Normand Corbeil passed away this past January 25th, 2013 at the age of 56. Thoughts and prayers to his son (posted the news online, also needing comfort) and to Normand Corbeil's family. His work on Heavy Rain will always be a part of my heart. Sad that I was listening to the soundtrack last night and hear of this news a couple of hours ago. With his passing, this topic may gain attention again in the future for this great music/soundtrack to a great game.

This upload is exactly what I've had from FunnyML's making of it and from his #98 post. Thanks to, aoshivx, for sharing a new host, hopefully these will stay online for quite a long while.

RIP Normand, I only know him of his work on Screamers (an enjoyable 1995 sci-fi B-movie starring Peter Weller) and the exquisite Heavy Rain soundtrack. So I now feel I need to rediscover this particular musical gem. Thanks for the share RR99i and thanks for the music Mr. Corbeil.

I've checked the links, Part 2 seems to be having some issues. But, if you copy the link and paste in a new tab, should work. I'm using Google Chrome so I just hover over the links, right click and click on "Open link in new tab". All three links have yet to get 20 downloads. I'm not sure, but Mediafire may have a 100 download limit.

If the problem persists, I'm not the best anymore of knowing a good site to upload to. I guess because the ones I used in the past are shut down. If you know of a good site that would work for everyone to download and has good speeds, please let me know. I'll be sure to reupload. :)

For the sake of my DSL connection monthly cap, I went ahead and uploaded Part 2 to Rapidshare.com. You should be good to having the three parts if part 2 was the only troubled link from Mediafire.com.

I hate to keep bothering you like this but it seems that you may have to change some settings for your upload on Rapidshare as it gives me a "Download permission denied by uploader." message when I try to download it. I'm thinking it's set to private use or something. I'm not experienced with Rapidshare. Sorry :(

It's temp music by the QuanticDream sound team, forgot the exact name. Not released. I wonder why they didn't include that scene (not pre-rendered) on Heavy Rain, I could have ripped the track then. The same with KARA. What's the logic behind engine demos, when you can't run the file on your PS3, only see it as a pre-rendered movie, anyway?

I just had a quick look at BEYOND: TWO SOULS, and the music format is the same as in Heavy Rain, so a rip is entirely possible. But a lot of work.

If you able to make an expanded soundtrack like Heavy Rain, FunnyML. I'm all for it! But hopefully there's more attention for your work to having to take the time to do it. Maybe by or after BEYOND: TWO SOULS releases, we'll see others wanting all the music from the game they can get. :)

Just a quick update. I had some time working on this again. Finished another 78 cues. Still 43 cues to go. The current status can be seen in post 150 (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/2010-%7C-normand-corbeil-%7C-heavy-rain-73911/3.html#post1984081). For everyone that is not familiar with this project (or forgot): I plan to replace my first line-in rip with a better one, that has more tracks, slightly better quality but much smaller filesize, since the tracks won't be transcoded this time.

Update (March 19): all tracks (except Jayden Blues) are ripped. I'm currently ordering and naming the cues.
Update (March 20): While comparing the cues with my initial rip, I noticed some are still missing. Some cues are stored as 44kHz files instead of 48, so I need to rip the remaining stuff again.
Update (March 22): Wow, Jayden Blues is much longer than ingame! Still have to find one cue, though.

New rip can now be found in post #1.

Hello friend, (remember me ? :) ) it's not it's surround MP3 that can be exported but as stereo MP3. But it is definitely not lossless. The size of the archive/application is due to the fact that the soundtrack is with a slideshow menu. Sadly it was a long struggle on my side for nothing.. all the FLAC floating versions of the score are fake, confirmed by FunnyML himself.

I analyzed the demo PC version for this game and the bitrate is identical. So chances are low the final PC port arriving this month will have a better quality than what we have right now.

I told you by PM David said that the standard for VGM nowadays is MP3-OGG around 128kpbs :(. Because it is sufficient to for us to hear... Then the team trashed the material :( (I know because I had requested the files A LOT OF TIMES) and I doubt SONY send them the files again, but sometimes the recordings at Abbey Road Studios are archived. So it seems they just put the surround MP3 for the PC build, how disappointing. Your expanded bootleg from HR will become a rarity in the next years, and I thank you again because without you we would not have been able to have the complete score from Sir CORBEIL.

A lot of video game music is compressed, it's really nothing new, not is it nowadays' habit. And, it could be worse: L.A. Noire has its audio encoded in .mp3@64 kbps.

The music could be ripped/extracted in its original format, at least, that's not always guaranteed to happen (or, worse, you may not even be able to rip the music at all).

Yeah Leon you are right but at least its complete thanks to the work of FunnyML, and we have the original score from iTunes/PSN.

Also, my hopes were so high for all the FLAC version that were floating on chinese site, thanks to a source I could have one.

But according to FunnyML it was just the iTunes one converted to FLAC, I had to ask but we know now it does not exist.

You're welcome ! :) I know, but as Leon said (imagine if HEAVY RAIN have been unrippable or encoded at 64kpbs), at least FunnyML worked like crazy to bring us the complete score. And the quality is good enough to enjoy that beautiful score (which is one of my favorite ever).

There's the soundtrack of iTunes too which have been well mastered (the sound is VERY good) except for "Looking for Shaun" the volume is low and the transition is not the same as ingame.

Send me back that list on the other side, and tell what did you liked :)

The PS4 remastered version of L.A. Noire uses 80kbit/s MP3s. Don't know about the switch version, but it's similar in size. I also checked the demo of Beyond Two Souls - no bitrate upgrade on that one, so don't expect anything from the full release.

Sorry to answer this late myself, but yeah, more or less. You said you couldn't tell quality was that bad, right? Not many can, developers are aware of it and while what I'm going say doesn't obviously apply to every single game, it usually is the audio component (dialogue, music,…) that ends up getting the short end of the stick, quality-wise.
