Ooh, thank you. Ace Combat tuneage is always welcome... and Inon Zur is a surprise though not unwelcome addition.

I'm not a big fan of Ace Combat scores, but most of them had great, live orchestral themes. So I decided to download 4 hours of music to listen to maybe ten-fifteen minutes of live orchestral score - at least that was what I thought. So what a huge surprise it was, when I discovered that this one has lots of live orchestral music. And it's pretty decent music to add. So thanks for this rip. Really appreciate.

[Edit]

It's more than decent, it's fantastic!!!

Wow, I must say that this isn't too bad. I had major doubts with Inon Zur taking the helm for this, but this is more than his usual effort. He sticks with the orchestral mood of Ace Combat 6 and makes some really beautiful music here (particularly in the 9,8 minute themes). In any event, I still wish Kobayashi was back on board, and I hope he will be for Assault Horizon (note the use of the Ace Combat theme in the trailer, so I have high hopes; but the trailer also reveals a heavily guitar-driven score, which is great, but, well, not so great in terms of Ace Combat; yeah, I'm picky when it comes to Ace Combat).

Anyways, thank you for this rip, Jessie! I think I'll be listening to it for a while.

I think those "long tracks" are by Shiina (at least mostly), they have very typical - for him - use of strings and melodies that clearly resembles his style. So does for example track no. 4 and 16 (and more). But I'm actually pretty fond of it, 'cause I'm huge Shiina fan. Nevertheless, whoever did what, it's still brilliant music.

Ah, that explains it. Those tracks sounded so different from Zur's typical style that I was a little doubtful that he'd actually done them solo.

In that case, I'll need to check out Shiina's music. :D

Well, if anyone wants to try their hand at tagging, this person (http://www.youtube.com/user/Yadilie) has what appears to be a complete playthrough available...

In addition, twenty-four tracks can be heard at the Japanese site; specifically here (http://www.acecombat.jp/x2/world/sound.html).

It looks like the first remix of Linkage from Ace Combat 3 is missing for some reason. It's supposed to play after Mission 02, and someone on nicovideo already has it ripped.

A short summary would be - Neither the Game, nor the Soundtrack is Ace Combat anymore :-/

Still some nice tracks, but not as memorable as Ace Combat 4 to Zero ... My Favorites are

13, 31 (which is cut off! Argh) and 48

This score is fantastic! I didnt know anything about Ace Combat music until last year. So far, I've been listening ALL the scores and this is the last one I had to listen so now I can say that I've listened all the music of the Ace Combat Saga :P

I compared to youtube, nicovideo, and some sites to find all the track names.
Maybe it's not 100% accurate since there are no official releases of the OST. Some of it are taken from official release on AC2 OST Disc 2.
Here if you want to know the names. The only song that I can't find the name is track 26, if anyone knew please let me know :)

edit: I deleted some doubled songs and wind/sea sound effects.
