I am finding myself wishing to post content that might be considered off topic perhaps, but related to the thread started by JacKc anyway.
My last posts are kind of hybrid to the topic, so I am starting this Blade Runner Soundtracks Related Thread and mirroring the link to the original topic to avoid off topic confusion in the links posted and keeping the movie's fans interest about all the things Blade Runner in one place!

It is the unabridged version of the novel by Philip K. Dick that was the inspiration for the movie.
The author at some point agreed for the change of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? into Blade Runner.
He wasn't keen on the novelization of his book so he agreed for a change of title instead.
Too bad he was never able to see what his work had been inspiration to.
Mixed feelings about audiobooks in general actually. I can read a book while waiting for the tube or on the bus but I cannot listen to a book while doing the very same two things I'm afraid.
I bought it and I cannot say that I am not happy with my purchase but I could only listen to it looping Frank Klepacki music off the game.
Support the publisher if you like it and buy the book if you want the real thing on paper :)

Not much to add actually. I first saw the movie, then I hunted down the book.
The movie is something totally different from everything else while the book stands out for its originality. Ahead of their times. I like both :)
Included in the archive also the polish, italian and spanish version of the book.
Have a nice reading and pop by your local bookstore to buy the real thing if you like it :)

The song is better known as "Fourth Sector - Downtown" and credited to Esper Productions.
The more serious fans were all thinking that it was some skilled Vangelis fan to play that since he was never mentioned in the Los Angeles November 2019 release unfortunately... and that was not fair.
I hope he will not mind me fixing the damage done and crediting the artist that should deserve the proper credit for the music that had the wrong info on the song listed.
Give credit where is due unless you want the wrong story written... or even worse, hidden...

I think the song is off some of his earlier works listed in
http://www.sgmeero.com/archives.html though I cannot be sure since I wasn't sent any extra info along with it and no tracklisting is listed on the site I'm afraid.
Considering that it was included in the Los Angeles November 2019 album it should not be older than 2003.
He had believed that the track used (and not credited) by the Esper team was an old composition of the same period called "Zenial" but after better checking the older archives he found out that the music as featured in the "Fourth Sector - Downtown" track was actually a track called "Moments In Time". It is really a great piece of atmospheric music.
The rest of songs I am sharing come from the links published there including a collaboration with other artists called Europe Prime.
Additional infos also included.
So to the post the infos on the Los Angeles November 2019 perhaps had better to be as follows:
Original music on tracks 6� 7� 10� 11 and 12 composed and performed by Vangelis.
Additional music on tracks 2 and 8 written and performed by Frank Klepacki.
"Moments In Time" on track 3 written and performed by Shant Meeroian.
"Harps of the Ancient Temples" on track 9 written and performed by Gail Laughton.
Voice on the Off-World colonies ad by Dwight Okahara.
Could someone be so kind to re-share the two different versions of the album in lossless if possible?
I am meaning the first edition of it, the 78 min 43 sec and the 78 min 07 sec long of the version included in the Blade Runner - MR3 Edition.
Never mind the maimed Blade Runner - Esper Retirement Edition version as it was heavily edited and bits totalling minutes are missing.
Plus someone has probably swapped the Los Angeles November 2019 discs I was having since the durations on the MR3 should be of the original limited version while the durations listed on the original version are from the MR3 edition on my mp3 backups... the only ones I was left. :(

Marvel Comics Super Special: Blade Runner is the comic book adaptation of the film Blade Runner, published by Marvel Comics in 1982. It was written by Archie Goodwin with art by Al Williamson, Carlos Garzon with Dan Green and Ralph Reese.
The Jim Steranko cover leads into a 45-page adaptation which includes one possible explanation of the title's significance in story context: the narrative line, "Blade runner. You're always movin' on the edge."
This was issue 22 of the Marvel Comics Super Special series of titles which by this time only printed Marvel's movie adaptations. It was reprinted in a two issue mini series but without the feature content contained in the special.In some printings,several pages of the comic were published out of order.Other printing set these pages in the correct order.
In the UK it was reprinted as the Blade Runner Annual published by Grandreams. Again, the feature content of the original special was not reprinted.

I am glad you like it :) ... it was something I downloaded a while back and just located while going through some of my back-up roms. I have something else you and other BR fans might like but I have to get another scanner so that I can share it. I have had it since 1982 and I can remember when I bought it from a local 7-11 convenience store...what is it? the official collector's edition Blade Runner souvenir magazine! It's a little water damaged at the bottom from being in storage at one point but it has over 150 photos and conception art by Sid Mead.
EDIT: I just found a on-line version featuring the content but in an HTML format although a lot of the content is missing.

Perhaps I might help in letting you know if you are missing something different compared to what you were able to get?

I am glad you like it :) ... it was something I downloaded a while back and just located while going through some of my back-up roms. I have something else you and other BR fans might like but I have to get another scanner so that I can share it. I have had it since 1982 and I can remember when I bought it from a local 7-11 convenience store...what is it? the official collector's edition Blade Runner souvenir magazine! It's a little water damaged at the bottom from being in storage at one point but it has over 150 photos and conception art by Sid Mead.
EDIT: I just found a on-line version featuring the content but in an HTML format although a lot of the content is missing.

I never had this collection in lossless.

Yep! "Soldier" was the one he was referring to... sort of japanese combat type of film... Rambo meets Blade Runner... quite close to the BR universe.
Another one was "Replicant"... and a good one was "Surrogates" (the italian title was changed into "Replicants" actually)... but I would expect something connected with the Blade Runner sequels "The Edge of Human", "Replicant Night" or "Eye and Talon" by K. W. Jeter... plenty to take from if they are looking for ideas in my opinion.
What's the point of getting another rep-detect retiring some other replicant when this was already done?
They do have all the ingredients if they wish...

As to sequels, I think the potential here is great - as always, I'm worried about execution (see above and various Alien sequels/spin-offs). I love BR, so I'd want any connected movie to at least have a purity of intent behind it on the part of the makers. That is, I'd want them to have a damn good story to tell in the BR universe. I think any sequel, coming so long after the original, would be hard-pressed to come even close to the original in terms of universal themes and philosophy, so the most you can hope for is a good piece of storytelling. It's not going to have the all-encompassing thematic greatness of the original - I think movies like that are very rare. I don't think recreating the details of the BR universe will be difficult; coming up with a story worthy of following in the footsteps of the original will be the real task.

Guys, I keep noticing this problem on Blade Runner CD covers:
There is a problem with Phil Steinschneider's Blade Runner font. Specifically with the kerning of the capital "L" character that creates the merged "LA" character. Whether this is Phil's fault, or some weirdness that Photoshop produces, I don't know.
To fix this, in photoshop, select the capital "L" character that creates the merged "LA" character and in the character dialogue box increase the extra kerning of this character alone to 1 (should be at zero to begin with) do not select 10 from the drop down, just type a 1 in the box.

I don't trust external drives totally either that's why after I organize all of the files I back them up on dvd-rom.

Actually, I tend to do the other way round... but for the important things I keep also the backup on HD well organized since I backup things as long I can fill the 4 gb limit of the dvd... in this way I was able to limit the damage done and most of the cases to recover only the last missing files... quite lucky... but it did took plenty of time...

Perhaps it is the wrong place to ask that... but has anyone the limited Antarctica ARKHAN Records version or the OWM 2000 version? (Judging from the tracklist and time durations they should be the same...)

I think the whole track titles thing was something that was done to officially record them in the BMI database. You just cannot supply them the melody of a cue without providing a working title for their records...
All the tapes that made it to us did not have any proper tracklist (if not any tracklist at all)... or at least when some of the cues were officially released they had an official title at that point...
It is like the 1982 "Farewell" cue... that got to be the 1994 "Tears In Rain" cue... and the 2007 "Fading Away" cue... perhaps! :)

I like it! :) I could spot the Meero LA2019 edit in between the tracks... the only thing to note is to lower the gain of the highlined track by 3 db since the previous one is 18 db in loudness and the following track 13 db... it just jumps at your throat like that... it reaches 10 db... but it might be your personal choice about that...
Not many to go now. Then comes the big clean-up.
I just checked on my backup and something is not as I would have expected...
I am missing from 1370 to 1380... nor I could find that in any of your posts...

Ooppss... I think I might have forgot the fix for the 1096 track... sorry 'bout 'dat! :)
I will be glad to help with you mix... but we might need a tracklist in case...
And on the centre channel subject... unfortunately except for very few bits everything is mixed with the left and right channel and when it is not it is just sort of dry...
If you need it anyway, you might check the dvd and rip it to hd.
Then you need to separate the streams with DVD Audio Extractor and decode to separate wav's the resulting AC3 with AC3 Tools Pro...

I did successfully download them... but it was quite tricky since I was only showed the download codes and not the file names as it should usually happen...
I think it is misbehaving again...
