This one NEEDS an official release. I'm listening to it right now and I'm really surprised by quality of this. Not because Shimomura is bad composer (she's actually great), rather because this score is much, much better than rest of KH scores (they are mostly good, but this one is... OMG!)! She indeed outdid herself:D. I'm not sure if it's better music than Legend of Mana, but man, this is AWESOME score! Brilliant! And solo violin parts are sooo good. Definitely the best KH score. Big thanks for rip mate!

That music when Terra fights with the Wheel Unverse is still the present in the final game. Although just like you Kharaxel I have no idea why it can't be ripped from the disc. Maybe it's in a different format compare to the other music?

And just to note, people made some fan-arrangement of that music based on what was heard from that Terra demo, which the song is still present in the final product as mentioned from the others.

I can also confirm there is no wheel master music in the retail game, it was really skipped by Square, it uses regular unversed boss fight music in the game. My soundtrack-rip is at 256 Kpbs but even then its too high, considering the game music itself is actually a 128 Kpbs AC3, which gives us about 160 Kpbs mp3 considering AC3's quality preserve in lower bitrates.
It includes every single song that is on the .iso of the game, with exceptions of Hikari which I took from KH1 OST (considering it's better quality and it's the same song, wasn't changed a single bit for BbS), and Wheel Master song being also in there but it's Blue Nocturne's remake version (Who cares though, the song isn't official anymore because Square decided not to use it in the final product, + BN's version sounds like if it had been done by Shimomura anyway)

Well, I haven't heard it a single time in the game, nor it is on the .iso. I can only assume those videos are from the playable demo Square showed off earlier.

Apparently not a demo: Look at those videos' uploader's other videos; he shows a full playthrough of Terra's scenario.

The Wheel Master music is present in the final game (though strangely, doesn't look like you can rip the music directly from the game :S)

Anyway I'll list certain point (as much as I know that is) where that music is played.

First is we all know already. It's when Terra fights the Wheel Master. Now in the final version of the game, the fight is still in the Enchanted Domain but Terra enters the area through a stair instead of a large door that was from the demo.

Second I only found a few days ago. This is on Ven's scenario. Takes place on Deep Space where Ven and Stitch fights an squid-like Unversed.

The music style is considerably different from most of Shimomura's work. It really sets you in the mood in fighting a boss! Actually ever since I learned that ripping that music is difficult, I been waiting (more like dying lol) for someone to find out a way to rip that music. Heck, the whole entire soundtrack of Birth by Sleep is awsome!

But then again, since some of the song can't be ripped I'll wait for the OST.

"Master Eraqus Battle Theme" is not correct. This one is Ven's Last boss fight with Vanitas in Keyblade Graveyard


"Battle Theme 1" is the boss fighting theme in "Last episode" . That boss is Terra-Xehanort

No problem there, if might have forgotten to fade out some tracks so if there is one that "cuts out of nowhere" then let me know, I'll fix it. Also sorry for lower quality of the "real" wheel master track, but seeing as it was impossible to rip it from the .iso, I used my double jack cables to record it straight from the game.

Rage Awakened is... strange. You looped it improperly. Shrouding Dark Cloud as well (but the mistake is a lot smaller).
The Encounter also has a different loop than the KH2 soundtrack version, though I haven't heard it in-game, so I don't know about it.
Vim and Vigor and Vanitas Unversed don't have fade-out effect.
Also, Vanitas Unversed And Vanitas' Silent Silhouette are the same track (but the latter DOES fade-out at the ending).

There are also details like some track having longer fade-outs than other, but that's all I found.
Still, thanks for the work.

No, they have different intros...then they're the same.

The Unversed and Silent Silhouette are different tracks, the reason they sound same later is how they were composed, don't blame me for that.
As for extracting, it was packed with Winrar 3.91 so I suggest updating winrar for those with older versions, or using 7zip to extract it, should work no problem.
As for the fade out effect, will upload fixed ones later today.
And finally, I didn't loop the tracks, nor changed them in any form. That's how exactly they are in the game, I merely added fade out effects and named them. Just because they are different here than in KH2 doesn't mean they are wrong, they were composed that way.

Rage Awakened definitely sounds wrong. At 1:43, you can clearly hear it. It has the same loop as the KH2FM version in-game, though. And it makes no sense to leave so much of the song if it was already all needed for loop tags.
The Encounter's loop also is different in your rip than in-game.
So, if you did nothing, it baffles me WHY exactly would there be such mistakes. And it also confuses me why put two (almost) same tracks for the secret boss, yet don't do it with Wheel Master's? Unless I'm missing something.

I'm not trying to be picky or what, I'm really grateful to you for doing this - I just don't understand those mistakes. If my PSP wasn't bricked, I'd just look into the game files myself, but now I'm dependant on you.

Rage Awakened was originally suppose to end at 1:43. I know this since the first gamerip by Kharaxel. Rage Awakened is looped the same way its original counterpart did in KHIIFM+.

So either you looped it wrong (which you didn't I believe) or you got it from someone else (I heard this one before you actually released it, from Nicovideo).

Square Enix will probably release it after a few month BbS is released in North America since in the North American version have extras that's not featured in the original Japanese version including new bosses, keyblades, minigames, new musics, and a new difficulty setting called Critical mode (akin to the KHIIFM+ Critical mode).

Indeed, it's great. I wanted to rip it myself, however the BBS0.dat file ripper doesn't work with the english version of BBS (works with jap one tho, but the boss isn't there).

Use it on the iso... a viola.

You MIGHT need, the ATRAC3 codec installed... and have Sony Sound Forge 10(well that's what I use) to convert the file into other formats.

I haven't checked if Wheel Master is there, but you can try doing that.

Thanks for the utility. Totally different from the one I used, the one I had were specially written for BBS hack-tools that can extract all data (not just audio) out of BBS0.dat and BBS4.dat in the japanese version. Using them on the english one causes crash.

I will try to help pointing out if there's any problem with any looping. Specific time is what I'll tell. I probably won't be doing looping since I take much too long to do any. Besides I like to make the looping as perfect as possible, which really doesn't make me efficient. ^^''

Before anyone tackles looping, you should watch some gameplay videos of certain parts and listen how a music loops. That's what I always do. Also when you actually loop, make sure there's no popping sound at the point where you looped the track. I always test with a headphones for any popping sound. That's my advice, hope it helps!

I'm guessing it's also not rippable like the Wheel Master battle, but I would still like the track and it deserves a place on this list

Well, I didn't rip this myself. Mine is just a compilation of various rips in the best quality that I could find them. I'd have to track down the rippers and credit them, otherwise it's not fair to them.

Oh HELL NO. NO. NO NO NO. NOMURA HAS TROLLED US FOR THE LAST TIME. I swear, if this game has ANY exclusive content that WON'T EVER be released in the USA like Final Mix+ of KH2 I'm seriously gonna consider stopping my support of KH. NO.

Hmm...

So far, you did the looping of most BGM quite well. I'm surprise that you can work this fast (I'm too lazy to do most of them lol). Although I have a gripe with two particular BGM in your own gamerip: Vanitas' Lingering Spirit (you labeled it as Boss Theme 3, which is a secret boss), and Vanitas Battle (1st phase, the most common one).

For Vanitas' Lingering Spirit, the track loops around 0:27, maybe even the last couple of millisecond of 0:26. I can provide you a looped Vanitas' Lingering Spirit I found on the net for reference on the correct looping point if you want. As for Vanitas' Battle 1st Phase, you're off by just a little. I believe the looping starts just a tiny millisecond after 0:16. If you want, you can use my version of Vanitas Battle looped as a guide line for looping it. It's on page 6 on this topic if you're interested; of course it's up to you. Above all else, you should listen very carefully to how the music loop in actual gameplay before looping yourself. That's what I did when I did my own loops. I suggest watching gameplay on a video site (i.e. Youtube) to see how the music loops in gameplay.

Edit1: Boss Battle 2 was looped incorrectly. The loop should start between 0:05 and 0:06. You loop this BGM at around 0:30 which isn't the correct looping point that is from the game.

All in all, I'm simply trying to help your gamerip even better by pointing things out. So far, this is THE highest quality gamerip of BbS I ever downloaded on the internet. Oh and did you happen to find the Wheel Master BGM in the extraction? I'm not sure but maybe it's found on the SFX section (don't know why, sometimes I find music in these section -_-). I guess I did it this fast, because I'm more busy ripping & editing then playing the game itself (which I "do" love btw) and this indeed doesn't help with the rip on some points, like the Vanitas' Lingering Spirit track. Although I must say that most tracks have easy to find looppoints, but a small few defintely are a bitch! (though a perfectly sounding loop does take a lot time editing, no matter if you know the looppoint, but that's because I'm such a perfectionist)

I'm surprised you didn't mentioned the track I labelled Cutscene 2, I definitely took some (kinda resourceful :p) liberties editing that track. But that one was impossible to loop.

Yeah, I understand the feeling. For the two loops I did for Vanitas and Final Vanitas, I spend about two-three days perfecting the loop to make it sound as natural as possible. The thing is with the first Vanitas Battle is that it loops somewhat strangely in the game. Before it starts the loop, the music kinda pause for a split-second and start at a rather strange point. So I decided to be a little creative and look for the point where Vanitas Battle will loop the smoothest. The result is what I uploaded a month or so back ^_^.

On that note, how did I NOT catch Cutscene 2?! O_o

Damn....where the hell is the Wheel Master file. I truly can't find it anywhere. I looked everywhere, even amongst all the SFX and voicework.

Has anybody got an idea where more music is located in the gamefiles? It must be somewhere, right? maybe in another musicformat?

I have to disagree here, it's better to go with the loop points in my opinion, as it will be playing exactly as it did on hardware, instead of having many different potential points to loop it at. Much more official/standard than looping it arbitrarily to what one thinks sounds best.
