Here (http://www.mediafire.com/?3a992dddo914r) is a LAME vbr -v 0, 2 loop 10 second fade, rip of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep (the Japanese version).
Somewhat tagged, used someone else's tags from one of the earlier non looped rips.
A proper rip of the ATRAC3plus files from the NTSC-U version will come eventually.
Some notes by TimeFire (http://forums.ffshrine.org/members/timefire-99829):

Good to see we're still going. Epic f**king music, too!! Yoko-san really outdid herself. But there are a few corrections I'd like to make for the current rip (the looped one from the JP version). Event 9 is Terra's theme (which is also heard during his battle with Eraqus), Master Eraqus Battle Theme is actually the theme for the final Vanitas battle, and Event 14 is actually Aqua's final battle theme. Battle Theme 1 is actually Fragments of Sorrow, the final battle theme, Battle Theme 3 is the Vanitas Sentiment battle. Hope this helps with tagging!!

That music with Symphony Master/ Wheel Master/ Metamorphosis is as sneaky as ever. Thanks for the rip. What program did you use anyway? Most programs I know can't find the exact loop point properly.

Still hoping for an official release here.... However, I'm hoping that it doesn't stay unreleased. There would be a mob at Square's door in no time if that happened. Here's hoping for an official release soon! Not that I don't appreciate what the rippers have done. I really do appreciate it.

EDIT: Found a link with all tracks named and numbered! Some are out of order though. I'll post a link to my CD RIP with the tracks in the order suggested by DJFirewolf, as they line up with the game better.

For now, named link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0K3RGNC4

Most of them are, and quite well at that. However, a few tracks are a little out of place from my perspective. How they got it to 95 Mb, I will never know, but the person who ripped it (found it through Google, btw) was a freaking genius for it! I'm still trying to figure it out. I've also listened to all the tracks and they are incredible in the quality. Most even have fades on them!

The Wheel Master theme actually plays twice in the game, as far as I know (it may play more, but I probably forgot): I heard it during the Wheel Master battle AND the Symphony Master battle in Castle of Dreams. I think it also plays during the Mirage Arena's Mimic Master battle.

That's not really a problem, seeing as nearly everything is stored in a VFS.
I'll look into ripping it. And I'd appreciate if one of the 50+ people that downloaded the second rip could tag the handful of files that aren't already tagged. Reading this topic, it seems like some of them are from the disney world mini games or something of that nature?

Here's are some tags (that I "borrowed" from the game) for the tracks that haven't been labeled yet...

BBS0_000000C9.at3.mp3 is "It's a Small World" from the Ice Cream Beat mini-game.

BBS0_000000CA.at3.mp3 is "Dessert Paradise" from the Ice Cream Beat mini-game.

BBS0_000000CB.at3.mp3 is The Command Board Menu Theme.

BBS0_000000CC.at3.mp3 is "March-a-Long", which is used when you're playing on the Hundred Acre Wood Command Board.

BBS0_000000DA.at3.mp3 is the theme for Rumble Racing.

BBS0_000000DB.at3.mp3 is the battle theme for The Mysterious Stranger (the guy in the Organization XIII cloak).

And for some odd reason, the first file in the second rar (BBS0_000000C5.at3.mp3) is corrupt.

Hope that helps!

arbingordon
10-17-2010, 12:24 PM
You should be able to recover the file with winrar, I added a recovery record.
If you can't, I'll upload it separate for you.
Edit: Also, thanks for the tags!
It seems that BBS0_000000CF corresponds to the song "Road To A Hero" from the Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts II soundtracks, so the titling is about done, I think.

It is bad because you are transcoding from an already lossy source (64-96kbps ATRAC3plus). Sort of like reencoding 128k mp3 to 128k mp3, it'll generally sound worse, usually bad enough for nearly everyone to be able to notice a substantial difference between the uncompressed source and the reencoded one.

Edit: Would anyone have any use for the audio taken from the FMVs?

Square Enix is mashing music together from three portable Kingdom Hearts games into one Kingdom Hearts soundtrack. Songs from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days are bundled together in the Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep & 358/2 Days official soundtrack. You can visit the official site (or replay one of those Kingdom Hearts games?) to hear samples of the soundtrack.

New music from Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix is also part of the package, which comes out on February 2 in Japan.

Andrees
12-30-2010, 11:01 PM
It's not you. The music used in 358/2 Days and Re:Coded on DS was synthesized, you could think of it as midi. Whereas for the soundtrack, it's still the same arrangements, but performed by real orchestra, rather than a synthesizer.

Electivirus
12-31-2010, 03:40 AM
Not a real orchestra, just higher-quality synth like the kind normally used in BBS and the other PS2 KH titles.

TimeFire
12-31-2010, 06:12 AM
Um, the PS2 KH music and the BBS music was DEFINITELY NOT synth music. A lot of them were all real orchestra. The only ones that used synth music were the original Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, and Re:coded, because of the software limitations.

Electivirus
12-31-2010, 06:37 AM
Yes, they were synth. There were only a handful of orchestral tracks used for KHI and II, while the rest were synth. And for BBS, only Dearly Beloved and the credits music were orchestrated.

For KHI and II, you can check yourself.

Andrees

Well, clearly then it's a very high quality synth. It simply doesn't sound like one, except for few tracks like KH2's One Winged Angel. Compare it to Jeremy Soule's music, most of his older tracks you can clearly hear it's synth, whereas in more recent ones you can't (despite still being synth). Good to know though.

Well people don't expect midi and Synth technology to keep improving and keepign up with games. Most expected it to die off as high quality recordings became available in videogames. I guess they haven't played enough castlevania games to note how ifficult it's become to tell the two appart. The composer from that series is master of using sound libraries and synth to the point you'd think fll orchestra's were being used if not for the tecno beats she'd throw in. About the one composer that comes to midn that still makes music sound the reverse is Reijiro Koroku who used orchestra's in conjunction with rock instruments. He occasionaly does use synth, but overall his music decieves you thinking he pulled off the soudn only capable with a synth, only to learn he used a fine tuned aucostic guitar or a hollowed pipe instrument to get that unique sound. I still find his Kessen III soundtrack to be just be mind blowing to this day.

Alot of the music was done by Square-Enix vets. Namely 2 of the were the men responsible for doing the Final Fantasy Tactics Soundtrack which is famouse for being completely midi but fairly good at replicating an ochestra, though you can easily tell the difference. It was still impressive.

Darn it, still drooling in anticipation for the Birth By Sleep OST. It's driving me nuts, along with the DS game's unreleased OST.

Into the laet topic about the synths being "High Quality" they're...alright quality. They're average for the most part, if you REALLY want to hear Yoko's music at her best, listen to her Last Ranker's Soundtrack you'll be able to tell the quality in instruments instantly. (WHY HAS SQUARE-ENIX NOT Hired a better synthesizer programmer to do kingdom hearts kh1's synths were even better the kh2's)

YouTube - Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War - The Unsung War (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1Qkzj5bStU&feature=related)

Best Example

The Choir is real
The Orchestra is Synthesized (Warsaw did perform on this album but only on two songs)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NurhGMOyXI

A more instrumental sample.

It's safe to say Namco Bandai has one of the best Orchestral Synths created for a game company and I mean these songs are 4-5 years old.

Another excellent example of great synth use is Blinded by Light from Final Fantasy XIII, AKA the common battle theme. :D

Actually, the entire Final Fantasy XIII OST uses the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, and was recorded in 3 studios the only real synthesizers are from the technoish sounds in the OST. Besides that Final Fantasy XIII is very orchestrated a lot of the recording however are done separately with the instruments which is why the songs never sound as "Orchestrated" as well orchestral performances. It's the same method as Lost Odyssey uses though some of XIII's songs had the orchestra together fully instead of recording the instruments separately.

TLDR

FFXIII uses a real orchestra, and real instruments which are blended in with mixing and synth electronic sounds.

There are a total of 9 pieces which are performed by the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, namely "Ragnarok", "Escape", "Crash Landing", "Nautilus", "Fighting Fate", "Fang's Theme", "Born Anew", "Nascent Requiem" and "Ending Credits". The rest features live instruments, with the exeption of the technoish sounds, as you already said.

As much as I'm trying i know "Nerezza all'interno di negativit" is played not only on the Wheel Master battle, but also on the Cursed Coach battle. You can also hear the theme in the final round for the "Wheels of Misfortune" Event on the Mirage Arena. I definitely get the introduction to the song but i need to link it to the rest of the song from YouTube user TimmyTurnersDad's version of this song

Like I said before I got the intro, and after a while of crazily editing the friggin' song, I now give you the link to the song, now known as:

No need for that, in 1 week official soundtrack comes out for BBS (Including new tracks from FM), Re:Coded and 358/2 Days.

Do you for a fact or not that they're including re-arranged songs from KH2 and KH1? By my understanding, they are only including new songs that were first introduced in the those games.

Andrees
01-23-2011, 08:40 PM
Actually the songs were not re-arranged, most of them are KH1/KH2 versions. On DS it sounds diff due to DS's synthesizer, that's the only reason why one could think they were re-arrangements. The "true" re-arrangements like Dearly Beloved are included though.

So, we should expect an official soundtrack release for this game, come Jan. 30 - that's good to know. I've been looking all around for a proper release of the music for this game.

Much appreciated news...

Kairi's theme's in the gamerips that are in some of the earlier posts.

But I'm gonna make a folder with the "missing tracks" soon...

The Encounter, Beyond the Door, Destiny's Force, Vim and Vigor and Working Together are a few I know off my head. I have the .aa3s of them ready to loop, but I've held off from doing so because II.5 is bound to have higher quality versions than what's in BBS.

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 wil have lots have remastered tracks (orchestrated or with added live instrumentals) so there could be changes made to those tracks you mentioned. Since these are originally KH1 and KH2 tracks they will probably be different from the .aa3 versions you have now. (for instance, maybe they'll use the orchestrated version of Destiny's Force from KH1.5 instead...I see it happening)

I listened to a couple of them (the missing KH1/KH2 songs from BBS), but except for missing those songs for completeness' sake, they are not very good versions......the originals are so much better ;)

I have a better suggestion.
Go to the above link, download both packs for KH BBS... and then get yourself a foobar2000 and the newest version of vgmstream component for it.
The newest version of vgmstream supports native playback of PSP .at3, and as such, you don't even have to loop them manually.

You can even convert them with foobar2000 to a different format, just keep in mind you will need some additional tools and dlls to direct foobar to. Look it up.

THAT ONE ! ... i have it already long time ago , but the reason why i wanted YOUR RIP (at that time) cuz i tend to download from all kind of sources even if there was an official soundtrack + some times music in game (psp,ds,3ds,etc) it's not the same as the official thats why (some ppl) tend to look for rips regardless if official release was out there , & some times just for the sake of loving the game & collecting all kinds of soundtracks wither official or ripped = me .... at any rate thanks for the rip man really appreciate it ....

.... that .. dat goddamn .at3 it gave me some real real hard time playing it seriously ! i tried all foobar components just for the sake of playing it ! , & yes ... i've downloaded vgmstream component still saying that it's either corrupted or unsupported .... *sigh* the converting is a bothersome , it's either goldwave or through the psp neither way what a drag ....

beats me ... that's how it was when i download it from the very site you just suggested , all the other kh didn't have .at3 but yet khII somehow in a way i don't understand have it even though kh II is a PS2 game & there not suppose to have .at3 !! it's psp exclusive !!! & the most annoying thing it's the opening that is .at3 & nothing else otherwise i wouldn't even give a damn .... btw the screenshot above this post is from Foobar

EDIT#1 :

ok ....

KH II

BBS

is it possible that there not able to play cuz it need .POS file with them ?? in bbs as you can see every .at3 file came along with .POS file & there playing wonderfully , unfortunately i dont have that much knowledge when it comes to things like these .... damn it
