Bitrate never was something i cared for. The quality is not bad if its 128 kbnps or 320kbps, it’s how the cd is recorded. a lot of people think the other way, and think wrong.
I have a lot of cds, that the sound is low due to where it was recorded. a lot of people says that 320kbps makes the soudn more on high volume, which is false… it’s just where it is recorded.

i have two version of some album one with 192 kbps and the other with 320 kbps. the one with 320 kbps have low sound and wasn’t clear enough to hear, but the one with 192 kbps have loud and clear sound. but personally i like high-quality stuff 😛 that’s the problem:-\
but hey… you changed the way i think about high bitrate 😀

No, there’s some difference between a 128kbps and a VBR encode of the same file…. I agree that they’re both "lossy", but 128kbps stores even less data (deleting frequencies that the ear might hear, even if it’s lossy), or at least that’s what I know.

320kbps CBR for the less complex bits is useless… You only get a bigger filesize.

In order to have an overall decent quality you should encode in V0 VBR.

Today I was hearing a music and the bitrate stopped when there was no more sound, and when it came the bitrate was variable again.
