Neg, I basically had no weapons because I couldn't transfer over my save data from that last PS3 so I was only armed with a hand gun. I had to go around shooting them in the knee then knocking them off and stabbing them. :/

Mercs can be done co-op, yes. Me and Calum tried once. We were about 2 seconds away from glory and then I died :(

When I played merc I thought it was fun!

I found it extremely frustrating with certain characters... I guess they don't expect you to get perfect rankings for every character on every stage.

I've cleared every stage with BSAA Chris. Except the Temple, but that was just because I was messing around with Safari Chris and happened to pull if off.

Leon is so the underdog in 4, and it's a challenge to clear the stages with him, but for 5, Chris is just reliable as hell.

Get all the time bonuses, switch to Ithaca shoty, grab the combo bonuses, PROFIT.

You guys know how I like me so Jill, but damn does she have unreliable weapons. :/

Yeah :( I don't prefer Mercs characters with machine guns at all. Ada and Hunk in 4, Sheva and Jill in 5.

You can get some nice combos with Tribal Sheva if you can ignore each stages big baddies well enough. Bow is so overpowered.

If you can manage to get the big baddies in with Tribal Sheva though... you can really rack up points. I actually did exceedingly well with her on the Temple stage.

Okay, so apparently it's only the Alternative Edition, and it'll use the PS3 motion control (so basically, it'll be RE5 Wii) and the mansion campaign is just an additional chapter.

There's talk that the new chapter will be dlc for 360. I hope it'll be for both systems, because I really don't want RE5 Wii, no matter that I said that way back when. I was wrong, I do prefer aiming with an analog stick.

Hopefully this new chapter and small extra will make it worth it. DLC would be ideal.

since i dont have a ps3 (yet, and when i do, i wont buy re5 for it), i too dont want re5 wii, but i do want re5 on wii (lol).

Well, from what I read a while back, porting RE5 to the Wii could be somewhat a problem considering that the hardware is said to not be able to handle the opening cut movie. As much as I love the Wii, I'll admit that for this particular game, it's graphically inferior.

but probable, unlikely.
if angel studios compressed nearly a gigabite of information on a 512 MB cart back in 1999,
capcom can do the same and port re5.
the graphical department suffering the most.

the only games i have for my wii nintendo-made are wiisports, mario kart and brawl.

Finally sold my Xbox but thought I'd just mention on this thread that I managed an S rank on every level of amateur, normal and veteran. Managed 8 S ranks on Pro. With the rest of them unattempted. Could not find the right noobs to play properly online with.

Yup, you can attain a "SS" ranking if you can get 90,000+ points in solo, or 150,000 in Duo.

There is one way to do it alone... I can try to explain it if you want me to.

I think it has something to do with taking away Sheva's weapons? I got her to follow up on a melee just before against one of the gatling Majini before Wesker, but I couldn't execute the third one. But go ahead, then.

Hey Lukey,

Here was the one way I found out you could do this properly. I'm hoping your AI Sheva reacts the same as it does on mine.

Go to Chapter 2-1, preferably in Veteran mode. If you have powered-up all of your pistols at this point, buy a new one of the lowest grade pistol and do not power it up at all. You need a particularly weak pistol for this.

As Chris, open up Chapter 2-1 and exit the Storage Compound. Once outside, proceed to the first explosive line where the Storage Tanks are. Take out the Majini that is cleverly hidden above the crate holding bow gun. Take him out first before destroying the explosive line.

After taking him out, shoot the explosive line. Make sure Sheva is pretty close to you. After blowing up the explosive line, run straight to the corner on the left side. A Majini should be placed in the corridor of crates on the right and he will attempt to charge at you to grab you. If AI Sheva does what she does in my game, she automatically runs past him and is stationed behind the Majini that is trying to grab you. As the Majini charges you, try to shoot the Majini with your pistol in the shoulder which will cause him to turn away a bit in pain. If you did it correctly, when you run up to him, you should see the "Hook" action command. If you hook him, Sheva should come up behind him and kick him. After that, do the last reaction command for "Haymaker".

I'm hoping that does it. I've been able to execute that twice in the past successfully. Hopefully it works for you. If it doesn't, let me know... maybe I can try to make a video file of what I do.

Thanks a lot for writing all of that up, arigeitsu. I actually got the trophy last night, against the big man Majini in 3-2 when Josh is activating the elevator. I found out that doing the combo against the big men will kill them instantly, and it's really easy to pull off against those guys because you don't have to have one person attack from behind.

100% complete now (apart from Mercenaries)!

I actually managed to do the complete combo on my first playthrough. It was with the AI too. I tried doing it again and I realized (hearing how tough it is to get with you guys), I just got really fucking lucky because I've never been able to do it again.

Same here. The method I told Lukey about was the way I got it the very first time, and then it happened again on a later playthrough. So, I figured that was a sure fire way to get it.

This is extremely odd. Why in the world would they introduce two characters in RE5 that have nothing to do with the game at all?

I know people were whining for past characters of the series to be in this, but I just don't understand the logic behind it.

I'm not sure why they decided on those two characters, I'm guessing it's just because of their absence in most other RE media lately. Neither of their stories have really advanced since the original game (though we've gotten Rebecca's backstory). I'd much rather play as them than Excella and Josh, to be honest.

Here's some scans of Barry () (head-butt attack!) and Rebecca (), as well as some for Lost In Nightmares () and Desperate Escape ().

After really thinking about it, I sort of thought having Barry and Rebecca in it seemed correct. Considering now that all of the original 4 good guys of RE are all in the game now.
