First off, thank you to everyone who has posted all this great pokemon music! However, I do have one question, which has been bugging me for some time now. In the movie Guardian Gods of the Capital of Water: Ratiasu and Ratiosu (also known as Pokemon Heroes: Latios and Latias), there is a song in the end that I absolutely cannot find anywhere. It's the song when Latios uses Sight Sharing with Latias, and brings up the gang into space, and shows them as he looks down upon the Earth. It isn't "Stopping the Water", "The Light of Latios", or even "Cannon" for that matter, but a completely different song altogether. It isn't anywhere on the present soundtrack, and I know for a fact that it was played in the anime as well (I believe in Galactic Battle with Dialga and Palkia). Can anyone either post the song, song title, or tell me where I can find it?

For those that are a little confused as to what I mean, listen to the songs I listed, then listen to the background melody playing in the end...

There was also the Karaoke Version from the Battle Frontier single, Movie Version from the eighth movie's Music Collection, and Ballad Version from the Perfect Best 2 collection.

Could someone collect those all togehter like what was done for Together?

I don't really need the Kareoke version, but Bulbapedia is saying here are the variants on the actual song:

* The movie version has an alternate lead-in.
* The track on the Perfect Best 2 album has a slightly different audio mix compared to the original single.
* The Perfect Best 2 album also includes a ballad version of the song.
And I think the 3:38 full song.

So 4 versions?

EDIT: Actually, Kareoke version is pretty good, so I'd like that too :)

No, not that one. Listen at the very beginning from 0:00 to about 2:00. I'm talking about the nonvocal song that has also been heard in the series. I already have You and Me and Pokemon from this movie lol

Thanks for the news! I wouldn't be surprised if they're coming out with this because so many people bought the first set. Either that, or they were planning it the whole time, which is still good. But I think they should have done "best of/rare tracks" sets for each region's season. Still, these are great sets and I'm eagerly awaiting volume 2!

Amaterasu91

Yea..this one seems like a big deal...maybe they paid attention to how much we all wanted the first one...this is a bit of info I read...

* The set will be composed of two discs and have more than 100 tracks. The tracks will be digitally remastered just like the tracks in the first set.

MonadoLink
12-15-2010, 02:57 AM
If this info is true about the vol. 2, I promise to re-upload and or seed the files so they don't get lost forever. This doesn't mean that I'll be the original uploader though. Also, I care nothing for anything lossy, but I'll still re-upload lossy versions. I will dedicate my time to it! Hopefully they don't release many of the same songs, because that's what they did with vol. 1 and Genki! Ippai!.

Regardless this will be the best music in the world along with what we got in volume 1!

From what I heard, vol 2 will contain anime-only tracks.

More info from Dogasu's Backpack:

The Japanese Amazon site now has a listing for the recently announced soundtrack and has revealed some information about the upcoming set.

* The first "TV Animation Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997 - 2010" apparently broke sales records. The site doesn't make it clear if it means "broke sales records for music in general" or of it just means "broke sales records for a Pocket Monsters release."
* The listing confirms that this second set will focus on the stuff Miyazaki Shinji composed specifically for the TV series.
* The set will be composed of two discs and have more than 100 tracks. The previous set, for comparison's sake, had 88 tracks. The tracks will be digitally remastered just like the tracks in the first set.
* I might be wrong on this, but it seems like the listing is saying that if you take all the tracks from Vol 1 and Vol 2, you'll have all the music that's been used from the beginning of the original Pocket Monsters series all the way up to Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl.
* The booklet that comes with the set will contain an interview with Miyazaki Shinji, director Yuyama Kunihiko, and others who have worked on the animated series.
* The first printings will have special packaging.

Amazon.co.jp Update:
Amazon.co.jp has added the CD set to their database and it has revealed a bit more information about the CD set.

- The original TV Anime Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997-2010 set broke sales records, probably why a second set is being released.
- TV Anime Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997-2010 Volume 2 will focus on the tracks Miyazaki Shinji composed for the TV series and the movies!
- The set be two discs but it will have over 100 Digitally Mastered tracks from the original source like the first set.
- If you collect Volume 1 and Volume 2, you'll have gathered ALL the music from the TV anime and the Pokmon movies from the very first episode up to the Diamond&Pearl series.
- The booklet will include an interview with composer Miyazaki Shinji and director Yuyama Kunihiko.

Whatever you do, when vol. 2 comes out download the whole thing before giving out the links to other people. That way, if the links get taken down, at least there will be someone who can re-upload the files. Plus, everyone will get their links in the end.

The only reason I'm saying all of this is because we were lucky that we found volume 1 in FLAC, seeing as how nobody re-uploaded it because nobody on the forums had it except for a few people who registered just to get the links and then never came back to the forums.

And the "movies"? Is that a typo? Because there is no way they could fit all that music on there. Or does this simply mean they are going to include the unreleased movie themes? (like the sledding theme from Revelation Lugia that's not on the CD)

You have a good point... I would love if they did that! There's a short snippet of Darkrai's theme that was unreleased, from when Ash is having the nightmare. It's really short, but I really liked it!

Maybe that statement depends on the buyer already owning all the soundtracks.

And the "movies"? Is that a typo? Because there is no way they could fit all that music on there. Or does this simply mean they are going to include the unreleased movie themes? (like the sledding theme from Revelation Lugia that's not on the CD)

The movies often had various BGM tracks from the anime as well as recurring movie tracks(like the intro), so they could fit just about everything on 2 discs. I also would guess that they would release some unreleased tracks, just like they did with volume 1. Another thing to consider is that many tracks in the first few movies were not done by Shinji Miyazaki, but by John Loeffler, and those probably won't be on the new CD.

The movies, at most, tended to have a few tracks from the anime (save Mewtwo Strikes Back which was more heavy in this), but these are reconducted and different. On the other hand, the anime sometimes used themes directly from the movies (not reconducted or anything) in later seasons. Also, there is a difference between reusing a theme motif, and reusing the same exact music. There is an opening title theme that is ongoing for the movies, but its done differently for each film.

Also, John Loeffler did work for the dubbed version of the show. Shinji Miyazaki did the main scoring for all of the Pokmon movies to date.

In other words... there is no way they could fit all the music, even excluding vocal songs, from the anime and movies across four discs (both volumes).

Shinji Miyazaki did, in fact, compose the Japanese soundtracks for the first three movies. John Loeffler composed the American soundtracks.

Really? That's awesome!!! I wonder how they plan to fit it all, then. Thanks for the info!

You're right. I always thought "The World of Pokemon" opening song differed between movies... thanks for confirming that.

Also, the album is called TV Anime Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997-2010 Vol.2, so who knows... maybe they're not even releasing movie music. User Dammit said: The listing confirms that this second set will focus on the stuff Miyazaki Shinji composed specifically for the TV series.
Maybe it's just going to be the tracks like Ash Catches a Pokemon as well as other tracks like the ones that only appeared in Pocket Monsters Sound Anime Collection. Maybe the part about owning" ALL the music from the TV anime and the Pokmon movies" is just a rumor due to poor tra(nslation.
One more thing... Also, a link on CDJapan took me to an info page where it said Contains over 100 tracks featuring digital remastering (subject to change). Though, I'm unfamiliar with that source, so who knows...

Either way, I'm still looking forward to it. Keep in mind that I am just trying to figure out what they mean. I don't wan to be the cause of any rumors. I have looked at the listing, BTW.

Thank you both for elaborating!!!

Going back and looking at the 2nd and 3rd movie scores, they only released a handful of tracks from the score. Maybe they'll release those unreleased tracks (that is, if they'll release anything from the movies)? I guess we'll have to wait and see! It comes out in about a month and a half! :D

I'm still doubtful on that, only because it'd be weird to only include a few extras like that, thematically (and for the fact that the movies are really considered separate projects with their own teams and etc - plus it's called TV Anime soundtrack).

...I would wonder if there are a few other soundtracks for those early movies we probably never got because they're just not floating around online. This was back over 10 years ago, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Huh, I was hoping to find a complete rip of Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal here. There's no link to it though. I already have some music of it, but it's missing a few songs (like the Game Boy Printer tune, Eusine's theme, etc.). Not really complete even though it says it is...

Seary

@Banjonator : The GB Printer had a theme?? :P
I used to have a complete rip, but I must have deleted it for some reason when I found out that disc three of the HeartGold/SoulSilver Music Super Complete had the old music. It does have a lot, but I'd have to go back and look to see if it has Eusine's theme. I didn't even know he had a theme, either... As for the GB printer theme, I don't think I can help you.

Although, I believe someone (KusanagiShiro, I think?) is working on a complete rip of Crystal.

Banjonator
01-12-2011, 02:01 AM
Yeah, if you access the GB Printer feature on G/S/C, it plays a faint tune (even if you don't have the Printer) there. It's alright, I ended up ripping it myself from an emulator. Thanks for referring me to KusanagiShiro.

I could get rips of other songs I need myself, but I don't have a complete tracklist to keep track of them, so yeah. I'm not exactly sure how many I'm actually missing. :P

Seary
01-12-2011, 01:09 PM
I think there was somewhere around 90 tracks in the rip I used to have... now I wish I could find it again! And I'm sure there's more, maybe around 100 or more! :)

And it's strange... I don't think I ever had a Printer option... that's why I never heard the theme.

You bet your mama's chicken it had a theme, and it was one of the catchiest in the game, too. Even if you didn't have a printer, you'd hear it in Cianwood City if you talked to the printer guy. It was redone in HeartGold and SoulSilver as the Pokwalker menu theme.

Hey, Seary. Don't worry about the first four, just get that last image. I think I found the first four here:
ZMCP-7060 | TV ANIME POCKET MONSTERS ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK BEST 1997-2010... - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/22497)
And the link on that page that takes you to CD Japan will give you higher resolutions of the first three!
Actually though, a snapshot would likely be in 24-bit Bitmap, which is almost lossless for images, so if you want, you could still do that.

To make it easier to read what we have, I have translated the years:
1997-1998: 65 tracks of Indigo and Orange Islands
1999-2001: 19 tracks of Johto League + 3 bonus

So, we will have a total of 94 tracks from Indigo/Orange and 36+3 tracks from Johto. :D
Johto introduced fewer new songs right?

So, I couldn't find a (good) rip of Crystal, thus, I ripped it myself. It is currently uploading. It consists of 102 tracks, is tagged, and it's in a passworded archive on MegaUpload.

Here it is: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7FZN4GDT)
(That upload took WAY too long...)

The password is kurisutaru

And about that piano version of OK!!!... Was it really arranged by Miyazaki? I thought this whole album is going to be compositions made by him, so it must've at least been arranged by him.

If it's soundtrack, Miyazaki arranges it. I'm personally looking forward to the action battle theme version of OK!, which was amazing. That by him. Remember the Advance Adventure instrumental. Miyazaki did that.

Yep, it sounds COMPLETELY different from the original, but it's epic and awesome nonetheless in its own way. It's floating around on YouTube in a few places (edited and with show dialogue over it of-course), but at this point, I'd say don't ruin it for yourself and just wait for the album. Gives you something to look forward to. :)

Hi all, I came upon this thread with good timing i suppose.

About the orchestra playing pokemon music:
I'm not on ffshrine very often but i would like to offer up one of my prized possessions for the sake of pokemon with the promise that you'll use it well. The pokemon battle medley YouTube - Super Smash Bros. Melee, Smashing Lve Orchestra - Pokemon Medley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Kz887lNmc4) used in the orchestral performance of super smash brothers melee's music has been entirely transcribed by me (only the strings section so that means up to 2'38'' or so in the video). I spent so much time on it and as well have entered it into Finale notation program. If your orchestra wants it to perform, then I will provide the files.

Let me know!

This is impossible. Somone will always share it one or the other way even if you tell them not to. If you don't want to make it public, don't share it with the public.
Best thing you can do is ask everyone who wants it to write you a personal message and you will provide them with links.
As for a good and fast uploader: megaupload is still the best you can get. However, the links are short-lived if you spread them on the forum. They will be longer available if don't share the link over the forum.

Yeah I don't share anywhere else but these forums. I hate "0 posters", they are the reason that links get taken down so often.

I have another question:
How do I rip FLACs using EAC? I guarantee that I don't have space to convert it from WAV (I have 1.48GB free (out of the mere 55.8 GB that my hard drive holds)), so I need a way of ripping to FLAC. EAC is still kinda new to me, I'm more of a video game ripper.

MonadoLink
02-14-2011, 03:04 AM
It seems that nobody else has asked for this yet, so I will:
I'm almost certain there is no soundtrack for it, but does anyone have a rip of The Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon? That is, if there are any songs that are exclusive to it... (Judging by the credits not mentioning the tracks' originally being from another soundtrack, I'd think that there are.)

I am kind-of a completionist. Also, I heard that most of the songs in Mewto Returns are actually from other soundtracks (like the first one), but if there are any exclusives, I'd love to have them. It's no big deal, though... I'm just wondering if there are exclusives, but I would love to have them if they exist.
Thank you.

EDIT: Oops... I double posted again. :( I'll make it up to you guys.

Make sure to keep the sample rate at 44.100khz. Some people jack it up to 48, but they forget that CDs themselves are only 44.100khz, so anything above that is pointless and just wastes space.

...or so I think. If I'm wrong, someone correct me.

You are correct, as far as I know.

If I install the new EAC, will I have to set up the drive calibration and other settings all over again?

Honestly, it seemed like the FLAC and MP3 rips of volume 1 had minor glitches in a few tracks, (3 that I heard) so I was thinking about re-ripping those tracks.(Even the WAV version that was floating around on eMule turned out to be the same rip.) Maybe the glitches are on the disc, though... or maybe that's just how the music sounds... we'll soon find out!

The wait for volume 2 is killing me...
I'm also anticipating Movie 14's soundtrack which should be in the second half of the year.

For most releases, we get it anywhere from a few days to a month or more after release. For the volume 1, we were waiting at-least until the end of that week, and that was a very high-profile release. This is slightly less high-profile, so don't hold your breath. I'd predict a week and some change (but hoping for sooner obviously).

Unfortunately yesasia could not charge my credit card so I have no idea when I will be getting my CD. There was someone who said they will be getting their album on the fifth so two weeks at most and not a whole month. :D

Anyways, I am LOVING tracks 10, 52, and the instrumental to OK! You guys were right, it IS amazing!

Yes, you can count on me uploading it then. I'll also provide re-uploads. I have a good reason to believe that someone will provide us with it sooner, though. At least you're all guaranteed to get the chance to download it soon.

And even though I bought it, I'm still looking forward to the flac rip of it more.

Oh man this is fantastic. Now I'd like to see a volume 3 with the 4kids exclusive BGM on it both movie and show.

I would want that, the few unreleased movie BGMs, and the versions of the songs found in the last few movies' "Avant Melody" tracks that don't fade out in the middle of the song.

BTW, I recommend all of you get download manager programs as I've been getting randomly disconnected and have had to resume several times. With a download manager however, you can resume broken downloads. There's one called Free Download Manager.

Just 10 megabytes to go...

Here's the thing: besides a few of the tracks, there aren't really any titles. If you look at Amazon of another place, they're just using the cue numbers. The first volume needed tracks so you could ID where in the game it was from, but these are just cues Miyazaki composed that are used anywhere in the anime. So track names are irrelevant. Some had names on the first sound collection, so you could dub in those, but you're on your own here.

I might name mine once I get to listening more. Unless I'm missing something in the booklet.

I'm assuming that most of the track names listed are the actual track names and no descriptive names were given to them?

Those names are from the very first Pokemon background music album.

It's just whatever you want to name it, I guess. "TV Anime Best Collection Album Vol. 1" contained tracks from that first album, yet they're different names in both CDs.

Personally, I'm a fan of naming tracks with the actual scene in the dub. Some will be played more frequent than others, I just pick my favorite so I can recall easier where the music is from. Track 10 is currently named "Round 3 Win".

Won't the booklet have the official track names like the previous volume?

Once I have all of the track names (in either language), I will be able to tag the whole thing in about 5 minutes.
Then I could re-up the soundtrack or I can provide an exported tag file that you can import into a tag-editing program with the proper input command so I won't have to upload the whole soundtrack and you can just place the tags on any version of the soundtrack with ease.

Full scans of the booklet pages, anyone?

I can't wait until a Shriner gets their album shipped to them... Then we'll have a perfect rip!

Amazing work!

Does anyone have a good quality (mp3) rip of the 13th movie ost (Zoroark)? Thanks!

Ladies and gentlemen, let's reiterate:

There are no official track names. The Cue numbers are the only actual track-names. If you open the booklet, save for a few tracks, everything is just "M" and a number.

Like this one? (http://www.mediafire.com/?g64pg7m1zckgccx)

They are in mp3 at 320kbps. I posted it some pages ago, don't know if you have noticed. O:

That's kind of lame. Oh well... at least it's released already with the one song I wanted. :)

On the top of page 33 of this thread you should see a post where KetsubanDS posted 93 Pokemon soundtrack upload links. A good 320kbps version is in there.
EDIT: Looks like someone posted a link to it already.

That's really stupid... They could've put something (they had like five months). :(
