Complete Recordings are the whole music that was recorded by the composer and his orchestra. Not all of this recorded music is going to be used in the movies. What you hear in the movies is maybe the Complete Score, but the Complete Recordings sessions are always a little longer and contain unused music as well ;)

Hate to nitpick, as thanks to you I've found many soundtracks I've been looking for, but The "Complete" Jurassic Park score is missing CDs, it's just the first one. I think the other is just miscellaneous music and sounds...
Do you have the soundtrack rips of the Sega Master System or Game Gear Jurassic Park, and the Game Gear Lost World?
To clarify (because it's confusing):
The Game Gear and Sega Master System Jurassic Park game are the same. Same music and everything.
I believe there is a Game Gear only copy of The Lost World, though.

I could aquire the Trilogy scores in Flac if it is so desired. I know the person who created them. A mod at JPLegacy.org made them. They may also be updated as he went back recently and redid both JP and TLW to incorporate more music.
With Jurassic Park i think he used the conductors score and replicated missing moments and with TLW he cleaned them up a bit better. i'm not sure how.

I think you all are kinda needy. The amount of work that certain people put into making these is extensive. Do you sit down and read a hand written score and put every note into a synth program and try to match the mix of the actual cue and try to edit into the track and find the right tempo and compare it to the film and do all the other things he did to make the "complete" recordings.
He used a sound editor to even remove as much of the sfx as possible. Oh noes... t-rex roar echo... end of the world?
I think to expect it to always be clean is outrageous. I get that you're all kids here but most of us grew up with having to deal with tiny occasional sfx or quality issues with rips... and frankly, if that's all that we can get at the moment, that's all we can get... I'd rather deal with that than nothing.
He also did a War of the Worlds edit which is SUPERB, using the 2 Disc set and pulling music from the special features just to get clean music and find alternates and unused music and lost cues... he goes all out.
It's kinda rude when it gets posted without thanks to him and his work, when a whole disc is omitted for some reason and people complain because theres a tiny bit of sfx...
In one word: spoiled.

In the game Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis there was a really awesome song in the credits of the game. Would it be possible to fix that one? :)

I have just downloaded both parts, and they both expand fine. I'd suggest that the application you are using to expand the data cannot handle something about the data. My advice is that you download an alternative .rar file expander, and try that.
The data is in FLAC format, and some of the track names are quite long.

One: there is more than a tiny bit of fx. There are major fx. And, as a rip, that is fine. I expect that from a rip, and understand that completely clean is not usually possible.
But, this set is getting passed around a lot, and I am saying that it is not a "recording session". I refer you to the Harry Potter recording sessions recently posted. A recording session would have NO fx from the film, but they can include conducters speaking, chair and paper noise etc. The complete score and recording sessions being discussed here are the exact same recording, both dvd rips. I am merely pointing the fact out. The source I got this set from a while back was unaware of it, and was happy to have it pointed out. I am not criticizing the uploader, just pointing a detail out to him.
I am well aware of the work it involves to rip and edit even iso scores. I appreciate that. I have nothing against the recording. Fx are , as you say, inevitable. All I did was download it, check a couple of tracks, realize I have had this set for a year, and deleted it. I don't listen to rips, as FOR ME, no recording is better than poor recordings. But, that is just me, and it is easy enough to just delete the file. No big, and I have thanked the uploader for his effort.
Also, not a "kid", but thanks for the com[pliment. :D
To which are you referring, if I may ask?
---------- Post added at 06:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:32 PM ----------
There is no complete with no fx? All are dvd rips....
Yes, but I minimized and edited out major sfx the best I could. That's what I meant.

That's true. If I remember correctly, Williams apparently used a recording technique for the first film's score to give it a cleaner, brighter sound, emphasizing the brass (and the trumpets). For TLW he dulled the sound to give it a more ominous, jungle-y feel. I personally prefer the first film's score, but TLW was very good too. To each his own!

I like both scores, I love the last few tracks, where it gets more orchestral like the first score,
also, I "brightened" the sound of TLW to be more like the first score, here is the link (

since I used those rips, I figured I'd post this here too:
I've recently, with the release of JP on blu ray, redone my Jurassic Park score edit. This means better quality rips and fewer sfx. Right now, there are really only a few cues that have ANY sfx... the thunder in "The Approaching Storm" is one example where the entire cue is clean except those moments. Same with the Rex chase where echoes of the roar can be heard but is otherwise clean.
I also noticed I was going by some out-dated slate titles and I've updated my names.
I hope you all enjoy this new edit!

Hello there. I am IndyJones, just with another account (I lost my password for my old account and cannot re-login). I just wanted to make clear that I have no possibility of reupload the scores. Since I uploaded them, I now own my third computer. The last two were crashed, and all data was lost. So our only chance in getting this up again are the users who already d/l the scores in the past. Sorry to disappoint you. Im disappointed as well, believe me...

The only loss I cry tears about are the Indiana Jones and JP soundtracks, because unfortunately these were the only scores I didnt make a backup of. With the other private scores, I was able to find track them again over the vast wide of the internet.

The Game score "Jurassic Park : The Lost World (Complete Score)" by Michael Giacchino had already gone in early 2010 when I downloaded them (or I chose not to download it ?). It was commercially available anyway, and can be found elsewhere. The Game score "Jurassic Park : Sega Genesis - Rampage Edition" was never actually posted here.
----------------------
As regards the commercial versions of the feature films posted here... I did not download them from here, but they are frequently available on the Internet (both on this forum, and elsewhere), so don't bother to request re-ups of those.

It is simple english. If you marry for the first time, you marry. If you marry again its re-marry.
A file is first uploaded in a thread; subsequent postings of the file are a re-upload. You do not start with a re-upload.
A FLAC version of this has not been posted, so it cannot be re-uploaded.

Anyone to re-up the scores of The Lost World ?
With so many links to be found in this thread, find the ones you want to be re-uploaded and ask it using the "Reply with Quote" option. Or you are not very likely to get a response.

Strange that with so many attempts at a complete or expanded Jurassic Park (SonicAdventure's being the one to beat, IMHO), there hasn't been at least one FX-free Lost World. Wish I had the know how...

You can't make TLW without SFX. I would know. Without the sessions leaking, we have to do what so many generations have had to do before us and bear with it until it gets released :-/
And WildSharks, who's edit is that? Do you have a track list?

Ah so it's my old edit. lol... kinda funny to see someone make art work for it and not mention me :ehem: lol
As long as people aren't selling it... I don't necessarily mind but I DON'T sell it so I don't see why others should

Does anyone remember when the 20th Anniversary set came out and there was that one guy who claimed that the real sessions were gonna leak? Two weeks went by, like he said. Two months went by, nada. I was hoping, but now all hope is lost to the sessions being released.

Mine was given to me, I don't remember exactly which version it is, but it has many SFX removed or minimized. I also edited some cues (stegosaurus, roundup, Sand Diego, the Trek and others) into Film Versions. I added Alts and Unused tracks as well (Ludlow's Demise, Rescuing Sarah, Sarah's Shot). No, its not perfect but I think its listenable. Here is the back cover. PM me if interested.

I have edited 2 tracks from the Jurassic Park Complete Score to make them more like the music as heard in the film.

Not bad! I listened to Raptors in the Shed and you got all the segments exactly right. You might try layering to allow one part to play out over the other, even breifly, to help hide the edits, but it's good!
I just had a moment to upload these. I never uploaded my updated version after the iTunes release. Hopefully they stay up long enough for everyone to get and enjoy

Goodmusician, is this the same edits as you had done previously?
I dont' think I ever uploaded this version. My older ones are very close/ similar but won't have the new iTunes tracks in it nor the iTunes alternate takes which are on disc 2. I also redid the entire edit (technically) using the clearer sound of iTunes tracks. This is the most up to date version I've made including a newly mixed/cleaned "The Trouble With Dennis" which was never quite this clean before.
I know I'd posted a version close to the iTunes release, I think just replacing the rips with the new tracks, but after truly studying the iTunes release I went back and redid a lot more.

So I haven't really posted in this thread before but seeing as this thread is about my edit, I figured I should post here.

Well, disc 2 in that track list is 22 tracks, in the track list I posted a page back, disc 2 is now 30. Also, as stated, the tracks that were on the iTunes release are now on the set so tracks like Disc 3 Track 17 "A Storm Is Coming" is No Longer BluRay/DVD Rip...
I assure you, they are different lol
In fact, Disc 3 Tracks 3, 4, 10, 13, 17, 21, and 29... are ALL clean now lol
aka Disc 1 Track 3, 4, 7, 10, 13, 18, and 26

Hello GoodMusician, I had listened to your latest edit of Jurassic Park Score and it was awesome! =) But I wonder why some tracks like "The Trouble With Dennis" and "The Great T-Rex Chase" sound is different from the rest of the other tracks? Hate to say, but kinda uncomfortable for my hears. I might say that the tracks doesn't sound so bright. Hmm...never come across this kind of effect before.

Love all of your edits everyone! But....why oh why does everyone edit out the last little bit of the Over the Fence cue when the lights come back on and Ellie says "I think we're back in business"? There is a little flourish that everyone seems to think isn't present in the film. It is and was when I saw it in the theater in 93, watched it numerous times on VHS, DVD, and saw the re release recently. I'm confused. Anyway, enough of my little issues. Wonderful wonderful work everyone!

I've not had anyone mention that some tracks were uncomfortable wildsharks, can you tell me which tracks?
And Jedisaurus, I have pretty sensitive ears, I can post a DVD rip if it helps, but it's not there... from my understanding the DTS track used on the original DVD is the same from the theatrical release but maybe its not... here's the DVD rip of that section at least.

I know for a FACT the blu-ray 7.1 release and the subsequent 3D release is a new mix. I don't have those handy at the moment, but I'm certain its omitted there too. I've never compared to the VHS though, so that might be different (and if it is, it could mean that the original is different too)
I tend to listen to disc 3 anyway heh

Interesting. Could be different. I will listen again too. I could be wrong. Perhaps I just got used to it from the original soundtrack and my mind added it later when I saw it again lol!

lol! I've done that before too! What's fascinating, and why I ask for clarification too, is that the spot your talking abuot begins one of the biggest editorial changes in the film!
Spielberg, having to leave to Poland to film 'Schindler's List' had created an edit of the film before effects and this edit was sent out to continue the production. Williams's edit of the film included a slightly longer "Raptor in the Shed" or "Hungry Raptor" sequence originally.
George Lucas kinda helped Spielberg by taking over the project State-Side while Spielberg would see updates via a video connection. At some point, the sequence of the Raptor in the Shed was cut down by about 30 seconds and the music, possibly due to the edit and possibly due to the cue he wrote being considered tonally off from the rest of the film, was removed and replaced with tracked music. William's had no time for re-scores due to work on 'Schindler's List' among other projects so there was no opportunity for Williams to go back and work on Jurassic Park again. This may be why it's such a short score but also why there are no real alternates.
But when you mentioned hearing that fanfare, I was like "hmm" because I've always wondered at what point exactly did that sequence get cut down; at what point in production was the music changed? It had to be late in the schedule, after William's had already recorded the score. Spielberg had "locked" the film when he went to Poland, so for this change to occur is somewhat of a bigger thing too.
But anyway, if you ever do find that it was something you had heard, let me know!

haha, that's me most days too.
Disc 1 should be pretty faithful to the film cut although I did notice that I accidentally put the full "system ready" on disc 1, not the edited down version heard in the film...

lol! Yea, the film cuts it down a bit and it's not a very good editing job. I was able to replicate the full track and I'm so use to hearing it I forgot lol
ALTHOUGH This time I DID correct the film ending to "Eggs in the Forest"

Sure thing GoodMusician.
Disc 1:
1. The Trouble With Dennis
2. The Great T-Rex Chase
Disc 2:
20. Burn it All (from Backdraft)
But the 2 tracks from Disc 1 has the most affect for me.

Ok. SO watching JP now... music continues through Tim not breathing, Lights come on and stop when Ellie says Mr Hammond THink were back in business. So the last maybe two seconds of the cue are not in the film. So tense music for Tim, transition to flourish one for the lights and down with strings for Ellie but stop before the second flourish when she begins speaking. Also: some people have edited down the finale before the credits start. From the soft piano JP theme to the crescendo full strings JP theme when the copter flies off into the sunset, missing the middle JP theme played with light strings when Grant looks at the Pelicans flying. GoodMusician has the Correct Film finale and end credits sequence. God I love that movie and the music. All right. Enough from me for now :) and your right, GoodMusician, the piece does end before the Album version does, but maybe a little later than some of the edits. :)

Oh...Ic...but I don't find that Disc 1 had the corrected Film finale and end credits sequence. If it was Disc 3 then maybe you may find it a bit of the film but slightly unused part of the track between grant looking at the pelicans and into the sunset. If you listen carefully to the film and the edit, Goodmusician's version had actually skipped the part where grant looking at the pelicans. So, I had edited the track to sound more like the film version.

Ah, that jedisaurus guy is passionate about film music but hes wrong a lot of the time. Sigh. Yes its Disc 3 with the correct end credits. And disc one with the Film version of High Wire Stunts. I have to go checkup on jedisaurus, maybe he's not taking his meds again. :D

Disc 1 is a film edit based on the versions used and edits used in the film. Disc 2 is extras, disc 3 is the full score.
If you wish to hear the credits as heard in film, it's on disc 1.
Same with High Wire Stunts

Just watched the end of the film right now... the film version of the end credits is the album version. No cuts or edits were made for the film version. In order: piano JP theme for int of helicopter, Minor JP theme for Grant and Ellie and the sleeping kids, transition to JP theme with strings and winds for Grant looking at Pelicans, transition to JP theme with strings for Pelican flying and copter going in to sunset, Full JP theme when first credit appears (Dir Stevie S.), continue with end credits. Just watched it now. Except for the leaving isla nublar bit, Disc 3 is the Film version of the end of the movie. Thats how it is to my ears.

I'm not near my computer or I'd post a snippet of the film but maybe I can still give you an idea of what to listen for when watching the film and the difference between my disc 1 and disc 3 edits.
On disc 3 is the full track. Listen to "end credits part 1" and at roughly [1:11] to [1:17] will play the descending piano/flute part omitted in the film, which instead cuts to the big swell. The omission/edit is just before the final cut away from the flying pelican to the full shot of the helicopter which moves from left to center and off into the sunset. This is moments before the fade to black and the credits roll. It's a micro edit in both the film and music. Originally the credits and fade out were a few seconds later.
Watch again and listen for that and if your film has it I wanna know where you got it hehe

listened again. Oh i see what you mean. Sometimes the whole middle section is edited out. I see. :) I don't remember which version I was listening to... but it deleted the whole part with the pelicans. That one had many edits that were not film versions. Yours is not that version. Yours is totally on, now that I listen again. :) sorry about my confusion and arguing. I hope I didn't insult. :D

And I've heard other edits of JP before and some are good, some are bad. It's what got me into making my own edits years ago honestly. I was never satisfied with the JP edits I downloaded so I set out to make my own.
That's what started it all for me really lol

Good. I hate insulting people and being mean, even unintentionally. :) I know, there are many bad edits out there. Chief among them my horrible edit for Titanic which I posted here a few years ago. I've gotten better in technique and ear. Sometimes its just better to do your own lol! You do great work. Keep it up. I downloaded your JPIII and am listening now. :D Someone needs to do a good film edit of Star Wars II and III, theres so many many edits out there. I'm working on one but just taking a while. Well. Love your work. Keep it up!

GoodMusician, would you like to listen to my edit for looking back and end credits? I think my edit is the same as as what you had described. I had removed the section [1:11] to [1:17] to make it sound more like in the film.

Not bad! I noticed you used the iTunes take of "End Credits" which has the chimes mixed in more accurately than the album. I find that fades can hide most anything and you did a great job on that! I'd try fading the transition from the 1:11 to the 1:17 mark a little more so it sounds more musical and its easier to hide edits when it sounds musical ;-)

Hi there,
I think this is the best topic to share this. I'm a huge fan of the JP series, so also the music from JP.
When I bought the Lost World score in 1997, I was always wondering why there were some tracks on the CD, not included in the film.
(Yes, this time the other way instead of music from the movie not included on the CD :P)
One of the tracks from the regular CD was track 12: Ludlows Demise.
A part in the movie that probably was edited at a later stage because the music appearance was to loud.
I thought, let's try to edit this scene how it should have bin edited when John Williams delivered the score.
This is a rough cut from the movie, so the quality is not the best. I tried to keep the SFX, and remove the music.
Enjoy this clip, I did my best on it without good programs to edit.

Very very nice! I use to have quite a few videos just like that on my youtube but they all got flagged and pulled :-/
If I can give a little insight, that cue is technically not an alternate but rather IS the music Williams wrote for that sequence. The music heard in the film is tracked music from the original full credits (hear partially in the film). Just a technicality.
When I synced mine, I pushed the music just a hair earlier than yours which I think is closer to the way Williams wrote it BUT I've noticed that the way Williams writes film scores is usually in sync, but the way it's used many times is slightly OFF that sync... perhaps to not over-heighten the sync points. Films like A.I. and Jurassic Park even come to mind where the cues are pushed moments late or early to keep the sync points from being too robust so If the cue had been used, they would have synced it the way you have it I bet so I don't think you're wrong at all heh Your closer to what we would have heard in theatres had it been used heh
Good job!
There are a few videos I made for TLW but most of the unused music is difficult if not entirely impossible to really replace due to the amount the film was edited. For example, the full "The Hunt" cue is still too short for the extended sequence heard in the film (which may be partially why it's not used in the final film), so you'd have to edit it down. The cue prior to that for when the InGen hunters arrive is much longer than whats heard in the film, but the sequence is cut so short.
Also our knowledge of the score has grown since the videos I made. Certain cues I had surmised were alternates were not (despite how well they worked as such! lol)
Anyway, great job on your video edit :-)

So I am currently at Universal Studios Orlando and I'm I the Jurassic Park Discovery Center.
The music they are playing over the sound system is parts of the Lost World Score that aren't on the soundtrack... For instance, the whole underscore for Eddie giving Sarah and the others the rope was playing, also the jungle drums cue that plays over Roland losing the tranquilzers into the gun, AND the little jungle drum underscore that plays with Ludlow discussing the San Diego theme park. I asked some employees and no one knew about the sound system...
If anyone knows an Islands of Adventure Jurassic Park employee, you might ask about the sound system playlist or something like that...

I actually had tried for years to get in touch with people. I even knew someone from college who worked that specific section but it turns out there's a separate control center that handles all the music.
I did, however, go in with a digital recorded and record the music from the speakers. I had to go back because the first time I only got the left channel and then I went back to get the right channel. I made a rather extensive edit of The lost World using it too. I may have to reup.
