A: Allowing a company from the land of rising sun to join forces with that tyrannical mickey mouse organisation is grounds for genocide.

B: Voices. I don't mind voice acting in games, but after seeing idiots in gamestores creaming their pants in explosive delight over hearing that their 'fav'rit ff characters get to speak, i need to change my diapers' is enough to irritate anyone to go down to the nearest post office and mail their genitalia to the united organistion for restoration to Eunuchs.

Now, after having broken my cousin's copy his mother bitched at me about that, so I had to get the little snot another copy. The guy at the gamestore let me have a secondhand copy (just the disc, no case etc) as well, so I decided to play it to see if my wrath at the game is well deserved.

Guess what...

IT IS.

Gameplay wise it's mediocre at best. I've found watching paint dry to be more stimulating. Story... old, case of 'been there, done that... and done better'. Music was ok I guess.. not my thing per se.

The voices....

Apart from David Boreanaz supplying the voice of 'Leon' (I actually thought he did a fairly decent job), the rest of the cast imo were only average.

See? I do play the games before ranting about them... though in this case, I had a gut feeling it was going to be bad. I am NOT a fan of Disney. Too clean cut and 'wholesome' for my liking.

Sides... we all know who'd win in a fight between Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny.

Half-Life 2

I've technically played Half-Life 2, but very little of it. I got it in the Orange Box, but every time I go to play something on the PC, I invariably drift towards TF2, so HL2 may never be finished. By me.

Still haven't finished Portal either. =(

the game is exceptionally good.
it is the whole media attention it got that gave it a bad rep among us true videogamers.
i enjoyed ff7. but im not gonna cosplay about it or buy every single artifact of the franchise.
to me, ff7 started on ff7 and ended in AC.
anything else is just milking the game.

Haven't played the halo series, half life series, GTA series.... they just didn't seem to interest me that much, I've been in a castlevania mood lately. I haven't played any of the older final fantasy titles like off of nes, snes. I haven't played ff9 or ffxi or any side games. Last one I played was ff7 but that was because I was recovering for a couple months after a severe hit&run/car wreak, and now everytime I see it or play it reminds of that damn car wreak and how several people were almost killed that day. Great game, I just have hard time playing it.

Halo, mario games(ewww), most sonic games I've only played one on my psp, World of Warcraft.

I really don't see what's so special about any of those. I would add Silent Hill to that list but I've already played some and intend to try more.

Most Halo fans are from the US. That's a pretty big fanbase by itself sure, but personally I haven't heard of anyone non-american play Halo.

Every FPS has an original story. The genre maybe the same though. Actually considering COD4 shifted from WW2 to MODERN Warfare, i'd say that's a noticeable difference. What games have you seen like MW1 or 2? Genuinely asking because I'd love to play them. Also the online gameplay are what set COD apart.

Originally this forum was about Final Fantasy about 8 years ago or so. Only in the last year or two (I'm not sure about this...), the VGM download site was added to the forum. As you said, that's what has drawn a lot of people here to become members, just to download game music.

The General Discussion and Bearded Discussion subforums have been around since the site first started.

I'm still lost.. It's a FF forum, yet so many of its members.. don't like FF. Um, guys . . . WTF? I understand a lot of them come here for varying reasons, such as downloads for other games, but there's plenty of other sites for just that, such as Gamespot, Blue Laguna, Emuparadise (and no, don't assume I'm enforcing the use of emulators), among others; why come here for just that? I see what you mean; seems like a lot of the longtime members here really stand out because they have opposing views on things and don't just blend in with all the others who bust in announcing "SEPHIROTH RULZ!!1!!1!!" or "HI I LIEK TIDUS". Too much uniformity that way. Only when you've got differing views do you achieve true balance. But I still don't get why they'd go to all the trouble of registering here, especially these members who've been here for 6+ years, but don't seem to really care for FF in general. It's just weird, man. I dunno, I think they all secretly have the hots for Terra and are just masking it ;)

The Lost Vikings is a great game, which I still play on Emulator (I do have a SNES copy, but by SNES is damaged >.<). The sequel, The Lost Vikings: Norse by Norsewest, is just as great. Fortunately I can still play my original Sega Saturn copy, as that still works

In MGS4 it's definitely an option. Although it feels quite clunky during action, the controls are most suited for stealth. But in the early games it was definitely essential.
