It's proving to be very difficult. I've got dozens upon dozens of separate recordings right now. And it's still tough to get things blending together well enough to be even usable. Just one of the problems is with bowser circling the planet his footsteps travel from the left channel to the right and vice versa. To be honest I say wait till the OST is out, cause all the work this is taking isn't quite worth the effort if the OST will be out shortly.

At least you're getting something. I've gotten one good recording of the chorus but it was only 20 seconds long. Nor is it wanting to save right.

Dreadnought Galaxy has no separate theme, really. It's just the Battlerock Galaxy Theme. The song from the rip is actually from Melty Molten Galaxy.


Also, Gateway Galaxy has no theme also. It's just the "Wake up!" theme and the "First Steps" Theme. The song that has the name is from Snow Cap Galaxy.

I still think it's a good effort by all who made this rip, it's difficult doing this by yourself, I know how it feels to get every single piece of music from the game without sound effects, I had to go through this when I did my Silent Hill 4 Complete Soundtrack.

Right... Bugaboom is there, but we're still missing King Kaliente, Baron Brrr, the cutscenes and a bunch of other stuff.

So, can ANYONE do the Bowser glitch and rip the music for us?

But Bugaboom and King Kaliente...they are one and the same. Listen carefully, you'll recognize some of the same cues in both battles.

Cutscenes are impossible to rip properly, there's just too many sound effects. For those, wait until the official release. Boss battles are hard to do for the same reason.

I might try out the Bowser glitch this weekend, but I've never recorded video game music before, so it would be largely experimental. Plus, I don't have any real audio editing experience (does anybody know how to use Audacity?). Personally, I like Kuroe-Chan's promise of all three Bowser versions - that would blow anything I could do out of the water.

However, Kuroe-Chan has failed to respond to my latest PM.

I tried removing the sound effects from a video of the Bowser Battle I have on my computer to see if it would be worth attempting to rip it. It seems there is a constant "wind" noise in the background that I cant seem to get rid of but I at least quietened most of the effects. Still not sure if I should bother trying to do it properly without the low battery noise and stuff that were in the video.

What do you mean? ewesbe's rip, while not perfect, is a great effort, especially considering what was involved. There's still too many "significant" sound effects (i.e., Low Battery indicator, Wii Home Menu at the end) to make this a wholly satisfactory rip, but it's a step in the right direction. It's much better than the first Bowser Battle rip - the other guy didn't even bother to edit the sound.

With more work, this could be great. Will you take the mantle left by the rippers who came before you?

The OST will have Bowser Battle - that was an orchestrated piece, representative of lots of Nintendo money. They won't leave it out.

In fact, I think there's plenty of musical cues that will be in the OST that we may have missed.

It sounds like it is orchestrated, but I wonder if it might actually be MIDI judging by the smooth transition from normal to choir, kind of like many tracks(such as Hyrule Field and most bosses)in Twilight Princess.

-Tarantox battle: Knock the coins off of the big net, and the sound comes in key with the chords.

It's just a copy of my rip. I posted a nice comment for the poster of that torrent ;). I had no problem with the torrent, just the fact he made no effort to give proper credit to where he/she got the files, seeing how I spent many hours of my time.

After reading several posts it seems people are still using the old rip from sebasrd24. Seeing how my post is sort of buried somewhere in the topic, i'll repost it here. Now as for this whole bowser's battle curfuffle. I'll be honest, I haven't really worked on it very much, if at all. I have lots of recordings though. What I was trying to do was do many recordings of when bowser is spinning/on fire which is when the chants play. The song is if I remember correctly well over a minute in length. The main pain in the ass part is bowser only spins or is on fire for a certain length of time (my recordings average around 8 - 12 seconds each, majority of it unusable, so more like 5 or so). So I got to get enough recordings of the chants that I am able to then hopefully piece back together, which is the second pain in the ass. The third problem is due to bowser circling the planet his sound effects travel slightly back and forth across the left and right channels. So even if I do get enough recordings of the chants, with bowser's sound effects traveling all over the place, it makes it all the more problematic to piece together.

I hope that explains my delays in getting it done. I start working on it again and again, but then I just get so frustrated with it I say f*** it it's not worth it i'll just wait for the OST. I do agree though I want a decent copy of it as much as everyone else, it is an epic piece :p. So my apologies for not being so gungho this time around :(.

But seeing how the Platinum OST is allegedly two discs and 81 tracks long it should be on there. I read that the first disc is fully orchestrated, and the second disc is the synth/midi tracks. So even if it isn't orchestrated it should still be on the Platinum OST.

Yea that's true and all except, after Mario dies and you start again he's already on the planet and the song starts from the beginning. A few songs from silentscience have their beginning like Melty Molten Galaxy for example. So there IS a way to get the beginning of tracks such as: Good Egg Galaxy and Gusty Garden Galaxy.

Sounds good peppydude ;), really looking forward to it. Just thought i'd chime in since I had some free time between busy busy work. As you can probably tell i'm waiting for the OST release ;). But doesn't mean I wont stop ripping more games seeing how I have an audience now :). I know Mario and Sonic at the Olympics was one request, however it's not really game I would enjoy actually playing lol. I could maybe rent it and see what I get get from it. Other than that I plan to at least try a rip of Contra 4 for the DS when I get it, unless it hasn't been done already. Anyways, if there's other requests, for DS or Wii games (don't own anything else ;)) i'll see what I can do :p.

Sure, I don't think it would be a problem. I currently only have two tracks ripped right now, the Manta Ray race song and the battle with bowser without chants (except with sound effects..). I'll see what else I can do.

I tried removing the sound effects from a video of the Bowser Battle I have on my computer to see if it would be worth attempting to rip it. It seems there is a constant "wind" noise in the background that I cant seem to get rid of but I at least quietened most of the effects. Still not sure if I should bother trying to do it properly without the low battery noise and stuff that were in the video.

That one is already great! Much better than the Youtube version you all had posted. Thanks for that a lot Peppydude! I�m sure with a bit more work you could remove all the background Sounds instead of the music but this is allready more that I expected!

It would be great I love this part, and I didn't seen it in the latest recordings (the only one has lots of SFX). And the latest bowser battle theme(which is amazing) had bowser's screams in the middle( when he gets burned I think), is this part of the music or SFX?(this may sound a dumb question but no one removed the scream)

When you say Major Burrows Theme, do you mean the music during his battle or the music right before it?

The Two variations the normal speed one during the battle and the fast version.

Just have the final Bowser Battle to do and then I will be done.

well, judging the other replies, apparently there are!

There aren't, just did the level for the first time and there aren't. The first battle has 3 variations but I've already done that.

Need to fix Dino Piranha boss battle music too, someone already ripped with normal and fast theme(thank you ^^) but there is still lots of SFX, wich is very loud sometimes.
