Can someone be kind enough to post the song of the start of the game, when Bowser appears on the airships? It's the ONLY song I want, which brings me back to Mario 3. I downloaded the first set of songs, but to my dismay it wasn't there. The wait is killing me.180 remaining for another download opportunity on Rapidshare is torture.

Your rip has 60 and heluen10 has ripped one new one. The missing ones are probably the boss themes, stringray theme and some others. Does anyone know what other themes are still missing?

I have the full intro's to Honeyhive (fast version as well), Battlerock, Sweet Sweet, Toy Time, and Toad Brigade.

Then I have partial intros to: Comet Observatory (all versions), Buoy Base, and Bowser Jr. Airship Armada (I called it Under Attack, since it's played during the attack on mushroom kingdom). I think that's it..

You can get the Purple Comet song sound free in Space Junk Galaxy. =) Hope that helps.

-Beach Bowl Underwater Theme (pretty much a supressed version of the normal theme)

-Topmaniac Theme (boss of battlerock galaxy)
-Tarantox Theme (boss of space junk galaxy)

Silentscience, I have a question. On your file, it's a ".7z" or something file - what is this, and how do I open it?

It's a similar format to rar and zip. Seeing how it's not quite as common for most people, from now on the rip will be in a regular zip.

Alrighty almost time for an update ;). At this point in time sebasrd24, I have all the tracks from your rip except the following:

11- To the planetarium
13- Choose a star
25- Purple coins theme
47- Ice mario

I know where to get all but one of them, and that's the purple coins theme. Someone mentioned being able to get it with no sound effects in space junk galaxy, but I just don't see it there.. As for the other three do you guys really want those ones? I assume yes for completions sake?

Once those four are ripped our track total is 65.

out of curiosity, by Wii-SNES Controller you mean the Classic Controller attachment that's been out since the Wii's launch date, right? Or do you mean some limited/non-limited edition, Wii adaption I haven't heard of that looks more like an SNES controller than the Classic Controller?

For the purple coin theme... try getting to the end of Dreadnaught galaxy. I think that may work, without timers or comets or any of that stuff.

Thanks :). As for that song which is from my rip. I don't have any boss songs ripped in that version. The song you're pointing to is the one played when the mushroom kingdom is under attack, or when you're playing in bowser jr's airship armada.

Now a thing to note with some of these new songs that are to be ripped. They will most certainly contain other audio such as sound effects in the background. I'll try to minimize this the best I can.

Now to end this post with a tidbit of information. My rip yesterday alone used 20GB of bandwidth, I wasn't expecting that much ;). Since my friend happens to be hosting the file for me, i'll probably be putting up mirrors for the new rip to be on some one-click hosting sites as well. Also i've been meaning to purchase additional hosting since my own web space through my isp is to small to host files like these.

Am I missing something, or are all the tracks you labeled as "(NEW)" (all three bowser jr tracks, bonefin galaxy, etc.) missing from the most recent set you uploaded? I got the .7z file with 45 tracks and 135 MB or whatever but everything NEW on that tracklist isn't there. Not complaining because I really appreciate both your efforts to rip the soundtrack (and within the first week of its release, damn) and it sounds great, just making sure I didnt miss a link, or have you yet to upload it? Can't seem to find it in that level. Which star specifically, and where? Since I am still unable to find it in space junk galaxy like another person mentioned.

Edit: Keep in mind, I don't have all the stars yet ;). I currently have 89.

For the Bowser boss battle theme, you could try doing the "Bowser Glitch" which traps and freezes Bowser in space, making it so that you can record without Bowser's sound effects.

:o Please elaborate, since that would be great to get it with no effects. However.. I assume it wont include the variation with the voices?

I think your best bet with that glitch is to youtube and google it. I'm sure someone has figured out how to do it. But I have to say, this might be the method you have been looking for in order to get the bowser music and if it works on one reactor I would assume it can work on the final reactor. I'll look into it.

When Bowser goes into the air, make him hit one of the green things (Not the ones that puts his tail on fire). I've heard that it is a really hard glitch to do. (I'm gonna try it right now.)

Sounds good. I looked it up on youtube :P so I see what happens. The best i've managed with bowser for minimal sound effects was having him sit at one end of the planet doing his thing, but never actually coming after me to kill me. Doubt I could do it all again though.

Thoght i'd also give an update on where I am at so far :P. Just finished the mp3 for the Purple Coin theme, has zero sound effects, loops, and has the full intro ;).

Regarding the Bowser Battle theme, does the chorus only come in when his tail is on fire and/or he's spinning on his back? Because in that case, if you could only record the part before that...you'll be missing out on the chorus ;__;

The Final Fight however (after the first 2 planets) just has one solid final boss theme, instead of dividing the theme.

.___. er overall I think I'm trying to say...or ask...or whatever, is that 2 themes are inside of the normal Bowser fights. Not just one...

I'm not so sure that "Beach bowl underwater theme with Koopa shell" would be an actual theme on the official OST because it is identical to the beachbowl underwater theme except for an added beat to the background. It is different, but barely. I'm fairly certain there is something we are missing and so I shall continue looking.

Also it sais 28 orchestrated tracks and 53 "variations" so it very well could be.

True. But I'll keep an ear out for anything new though, I'm working my way to 120 stars and I only have ten left. After that I'll revisit the worlds and check for anything I may have missed.

well, themes like the game over theme and the "got a star" theme don't loop. But all of the level ones loop, or so I think.

Yeah just about every track has some sort of introduction, and then it gets into a loop. For all my songs I play the looped sequence twice, then it fades out for ten seconds.

Yeah i've been thinking about those. Would be one of the tough ones to rip due to how quickly you get them changes the tempo among other things.

I tried to put the tracks in the order you encounter them in the game. The tracks that start with 2** are mainly songs that appear several times throughout the game. Of course my order may not be what everyone would prefer, we could easily change it for the next set of songs.

Yeah, hopefully if I can get the glitch to happen to me. Wont have much time tonight to try. But for sure tomorrow, i'll give it a shot after work.

I think i've found a new hobby ;). I used to do some DS rips from time to time of games I liked. Most recent one I did was Rune Factory that was months and months ago. But super mario galaxy was allot of fun to do. Especially the tough songs like purple coins, where I took two separate recordings and did 6 or so edits/cuts to remove the timer sounds. Same thing with ice mario, took two or three different recordings then used them to recreate the intro with no sound effects.

hey thanks a lot for this, though I agree that I like sebasrd's order better, it's not really a big deal to me, I could just rearrange it myself I cared that much. Ripping a soundtrack is kinda fun, I did the Animal Crossing Wild World soundtrack, while I didnt have to deal with sound effects I did do it without time traveling (moving the clock to get to certain hours/seasons) and I still didnt get the original Nook's Cranny because I didnt start ripping the soundtrack til I had Nookington's, and I wasnt gonna start my game over for that... anyway theres probably someting better I could have done with my time, but I really liked the soundtrack (the new kk slider songs especially, the hourly tunes were ok but they dont compare to the original) and it felt good to contribute something.

Looks good. I only had a small amount of time today to play around with bowser's battle. If anyone has more info regarding how to get him to leap off the planet it's certainly welcome. I'm mainly interested in specific details, one thing I do know is it's not specific to any battle. There are at least two videos circulating each at different battles with bowser. As for getting a copy of the track with the chants/voices, I think it can be done, it'll just take allot of time. Many recordings will have to be done of the chants at different points in the song, then hopefully spliced together seamlessly.

Oh yeah, I have a song to add to the list that i've had my eye on. When you encounter bowser jr, he has his own little theme. When you first meet him it's a rather short intro then goes into a very small loop. However when you battle him and or meet him at bowser's galaxy reactor, it plays the full song. I think I might be able to grab it without sound effects but i'm not sure. It's another one of those pain in the butt songs which take allot of editing.

oh, and no offense, but those note song rips are pretty bad......
they are very uneven and you can here the timer in the background of one of them(there are multiple appearances so I'm sure you can find one without a timer, or at least with a longer timer). Granted, getting them to sound perfectly in tempo won't be easy.

I think the King Kaliente theme is also the same as Topmaniac and Bugaboom.

Also, Drip Drop/Bonefin Galaxy, Bouldergeist/Kingfin.

One more thing: the Bouldergeist/Kingfin boss battle has a total of four variations - two speeds depending on how far into the battle you are, and an extra instrument track for when you approach dealing critical damage to the boss.

If it helps, I'll point out exactly how to trigger the cues for the Bouldergeist/Kingfin battle theme, using the Bouldergeist battle:

Start of Battle
Expose Bouldergeist's essence
Damage essence once
Expose essence again

The extra instrument track is incorporated seamlessly into the regular track - you can notice it if you listen to the current rip for the Kingfin battle.

Can someone double-check the Dino Piranha and Tarantox tracks? I think they might be the same. Plus, the track also has two versions - regular, and "pinch".

Yes there is. Go to the second mission in ghostly galaxy and when you use ice mario to get up to the upper level. Continue walking until you reach the first yellow thing that moves up and down. When you are here instead of heading to the left which will take you in the direction of the yellow thing move to the right and you should see a small area with a pipe. Get to the pipe, go down it, hit the ? coin and boom a brand new note song.

If you're going to rip the Bowser fight theme, remember that it has three different variations according to what's going on. The "Bowser spins in shell" variation isn't important, but you definitely don't want to skip the variation with the chorus(when Bowser runs around with his tail on fire), since it's a big part of the song in general. If that turns out impossible without actually hacking the data itself, we'll just have to hope that the OST includes the chorus...

I'm in nintendo club and ordered the two disc mario galaxy cd set which has the orchestra music and etc. I will be posting it once I get it, but it will ship to me around January of next year. Everyone wait patiently!!!!!

My files are still up at the host, however they must be blocking traffic. I guess me using 120GB+ isn't a good thing to them.

silentscience, how do you unzip?? i have both files, but cant get them to unzip, just errors that its an unfinished archive etc.

It should work fine o_O. Make sure both files are in the same directory (same place). Then open the first one. I'll download the files from mediafire myself to check them out. Since the originals on my hard drive work fine.

Anyway, you won't achieve anything by doing the glitch, because all you'll get is the chorus-less version of the song. And you also won't get the intro of the song, although I suppose you could patch that in afterwards. It would be blasphemy not to include the chorus. Actually, it ought to loop twice; Once without the chorus and once with it.

If you clear the stage of obstacles you could probably record the chorus part without too much sound effects, since Bowser doesn't make a lot of noise while he runs around with his tail on fire.

just plz rip the boss battles and the manta ray surfing plz they are my very favorite songs in this game

but i can't see the dino piranha song and the song of bowser battle... I can't rip.... but the song of the piranha is the same as that spiders boss. Maybe you could rip the song of that spider boss? The song of the dino is difficult because he runs the whole time on that mini planet...

A good time to rip it is on the final reactor, after you let him get rid of all coins and stuff like that, spin to make him start spinning and just run around. I could do that but, I have no idea if it will come out nicely, but if I can do it I'll do both versions.

I think I need to point out that the music is different in the very last part.

Don't feel pushed to rip the version when Bowser spins in the shell... it's not very cool. If you can get the version when he runs around on fire, that's perfect. But as soon as you hit him once and he starts spinning, the music gets overlaid with some tingly instruments that aren't very epic.

If you feel the third version to be worth it, then rip it. If not, then don't. We would all appreciate as complete a rip as possible (or at least before the OST becomes available), but don't sacrifice anything important for this. After all, there is an OST coming out in a couple of months.

Can you guys upload the sound effects to the game?

I love using new sounds effects for alerts on my blackberry.

Be sure to send me any info when it goes up ;). I would love to get my hands on it. It was inevitable really, once the OST is out it obsoletes all our hard work. Oh well, I asked for a copy of contra 4 as a christmas gift since no one knows what to get me. I'll probably look into ripping that when the time comes ;) if there's no OST available.

Actually, I am ripping all three parts. When you battle him, when he runs, and when he spins. And then also the part of the last battle you fight with him where the music is different.

The only one that's bugging me is when he's not running/spinning. It's VERY hard to get the music to stay the music.

Until now, 'cause that rip was terrible. The sound effects were louder than any of the music, and the only part that went uninterrupted was about 20 seconds in the middle of the song. Maybe good things do come to those who wait. And to those who don't, well...

The video is from E3 so the game was still a work in progress at the time of showing. As far as I know, the retail release of the game does not include that theme at all (I haven't come across it and I have all the stars).

It was used for the grand star(in the beta). And also, right before I clicked the link I remebered it was after you beat a boss.(The fanfare that is)

^well not in my little rip.

Good music. The bitrate is rather high for music with low quality sound like this, though. I doubt if this is a true rip, it sounds more like it was recorded from an average sound system. But it's understandable, ripping music is hard for Wii games, so I can understand why this was done.

One website says the soundtrack will be dispatched December 13th 2007. Don't know if this is true or not.. something asia.com..but not playsia.com
