I still love Deer hunter, but it has more flaws then people admit to IMO. Mostly self indulgent pacing, which is the same issue I would have with the remainder of his work.

I found it really interesting. Gave off some Inception-like vibes (from what I remember), and I love Inception.

I quite enjoyed it, even if the ending didn't make sense -it's like they had such an interesting idea but didn't know how they'd end it (mind you, if you can accept the basic premise of the film then you can accept happily ever after). Still, we all love a happy ending! It was also a bit like the Denzel Washington film Deja Vu.
