This isnt EXACTLY what you all want, as I havent ripped the 2nd disk yet. But for the impatient ones, heres the SDOJ OST.

EDIT: I know this seems counter-productive....but to save me from getting into trouble....lets try to keep this link inside FFshrine if possible :)

You have such wonderful taste in VGM, my friend. ;)

Indeed. I have not listen it yet. But it is already good to have it here to be listen for all of us. :D

We do have some arranged tracks in disc2...

here my little review about "Fairly Bloom Freesia + ETHER VAPOR Remaster Original Soundtracks"

to be very explicit, "ETHER VAPOR Remaster" isn't arrange or something like this.
don't be amazed, "Remaster" is the same game but in HD (yeah i am talkin'about graphic) there is also a few new tracks (comparing with the "EHTER VAPOR" common game version. the musics are exactly the same (also in the game iso, i tried a rip & i can say that it's the same crappy 128k bit-rate) in "ETHER VAPOR Remaster" game version.

i am listening the album actually & i can affirm that it's the same music, the same we had in the rip, but no audio compression, the audio quality is just excellent, it's just what was expected of this soundtrack ! & it does well !
it's so good to listen it at a high quality bit-rate :D

For the Saidaioujou OST, a sample tracklist for the first disc for anybody who wants it in English...
1. Presage
2. Orchid (蘭 is just a guess at pattern recognition)
3. Importance
4. Victory
5. Rainbow
6. Love
7. Day After Day
8. Path
9. Power
10. Angel
11. Death
12. Peace
13. Saidaioujou (The Greatest Death)
14. Graceful Death → Great Revival → The Greatest Death
15. Graceful Death → Great Revival → The Greatest Death (karaoke)

You can read japanese too? :D

track 2 might be "Orchid". It lists "ラン " (Ran) in the booklet which is refered to english as in "Run". But "Ran" ("ラン ") works as noun for "Orchid" (あららぎ -> Araragi). And yes, ususally it is written in Katakana. Though.... all tittles of the tracks are in katakana. BUt they are all japanese words.
The guy at VGMDB entered the same mistake of writting english translation as "Run".

just giving a hint - :)

This is my tracklist. I never translate, just romanize. Katakana is also used as to "Underline" words , sometimes.... and made it as capitol letters.
This may way of organizing so ... to bother me about it. I just wanted to share where the tracks are where. :p

01 KIZASHI (Select)
02 RAN (Stage1)
03 TAIJI (Boss)
04 KACHI (Stage Clear)
05 NIJI (Stage2)
06 AI (Stage3)
07 HIBI (Stage4)
08 MICHI (Stage5)
09 CHIKARA (Final Boss)
10 TENSHI (True Final Boss)
11 SHI (Unused Track)
12 HEIWA (Name Entry)
13 SAIDAOUJOU (Ending)
14 Dai Oujou -> Dai Fukkatsu -> Saidai Oujou!
15 Dai Oujou -> Dai Fukkatsu -> Saidai Oujou! (karaoke)

sorry darkravenx, i will listen your CD rip after, no offense xD

I am listening to it now XD

Namiki Strike Again.
Totally. Namiki has been of the major reason I keep being hooked on CAVE soundtracks. The Saidai Oujou soundtrack is mixed with a lot of all kinds and types of electronic music.
the "Boss" theme totally freaked me out with that dubstep drop entry 0.0, and the Speed-Hardcore on "True Final Boss" .0.o
Definitely, not the kind of sound I was expecting on this release.
The vocal song is cute and cool to be listen it. Lyrics are funny ^^

I can't say yet what is my favorite track....I like them all T.T

Track07 rocks my boxers! ^o^v

Yeah, Orchid is what I put down for stage 1's theme. It made more sense than 乱 or 嵐 given the other track titles and the overall context of the game itself, given that orchids are supposed to be a symbol of love and beauty.

You would knwo about that. I have not even got thetime to see some videos about it. :/
At first I looked an saw katakana so Imediately assumed that the tracks names were foreign japanese words. But then "ラン" was not making sense to Translated to "RUN" being it english, when all tracks were japanese words. So I followed your logic and gave a thought about it (No One is living Japanese Dictionaire XD)
When I as I getting the scans at VGMDB I notice this. -> The guy on VGMDB was not this smart and translated it to "RUN" instead of the logic process "ORCHID". ;)
"Taiji" was the other track you made me "roll" on the ground. I was sure "taiji" means "to confront", and some other views of this word, but this is what I am wanting to use now to explain myself.
Again, the VGMDB guy translated it as "Confrontation", which is not wrong. The word you gave, "Importance" as lot of ways to be said in japanese depending of the context. But later, after having some reading in grammar books and looking a bit on the web, I was able to get your point on why you used it. So both translations are correct in my point of view.

Oh, I put Importance because I misread タイジ as ダイジ (大事). With that in mind, Confrontation works for 対峙 but I still don't like ラン as "Run".

You don't like and not me. Japanese could help us a bit in here. XD It's a pain in the ass decoding their stuff XD
But I am positive that it is "Orchid" for sure. But then again, only Namiki knows what it is.

I stated there already the logic on it.
Best it can happen, I will be ignored, since there some bitchy guys there thinking are the best at japanese "decoding".

It looks like you have to register to access most of the sub-forums, and registrations seem to be closed at the moment. It seems like they open every Wednesday and Saturday (unless this online translator is inaccurate). In my experience, a lot of Chinese file-sharing forums use (annoying) currency systems to further cull leechers. I'm not sure if that's the case here.

EDIT: I hate to ask, but can someone please re-upload the Thunder Cross 2 gamerip (originally found here (Thread 46609))? It was hosted on Megaupload, and well, we all know what happened there. I was poking around randomly in MAME and as it turns out, this game has pretty good music!

Sol-Feace X68000 Soundtracks.zip (http://www.mediafire.com/?r1b2ubldk866iyl)

Had to give it a 5 out of 5 stars. I'm just a sucker for Sakuraba music. :P
IMHO, I think that Sol-Feace is one of Sakuraba's best work.
I only knew about the MegaDrive and Mega CD versions. I never knew there were other versions to Sol-Feace...until now, of course. ;)
Please enjoy these OSTs, everyone. I just had to buy it for myself because I was curious to hear how these versions of the Soundtrack sounded.
IMHO...they sound totally great!!! xD Figure I'd upload it to this thread because...well...it's SHMUP...it's Sakuraba. SHMUP + Sakuraba = Profit ;)
With that being said, enjoy. :)

Motoi Sakuraba?
I used to be a sucker for the man too....but then I started to get tired of all those releases in 4 or 5 cds. He has a very own style....and hearing it in 5 cds is just like murder to me and to the man because I can't stand hearing more of him. 2cds I can listen well. Baten Kaitos for example rocks...
but more then that, I just can't hear more.
I use to follow faithfully all is works... but from 2008 to 2010.... I stopped it. Every month he released a new soundtrack with 4 or 5 cds.
Only Motoi Sakuraba I hear these days, are only the arrange albums of star ocean, I have no patience for the soundtracks of 4 cds. His arrange albums, most of times are the best you can listen. I preffer to have him working like that. Arrange albums makes my spirit of "dead fan" to rise up a bit.

Anyways, downloading Nahu's DVDs little by little. lol

I was thinking about buying a japanese Xbox 360, for CAVE's shmups... But thinking well and seeing that many of their shmups got ported to NTSC-U, and some others are Region Free, I guess I will buy an american one. Maybe two years later I will buy a japanese one. '-'

get a jp one first so you can have everything, then get an american one if you absolutely need it. iirc you can play those localizations on a jp 360 anyway, except for the raidens.

There's a patch to play Japanese games on an American 360, it works with DFK as far as i know, but you have to do something "Illegal" with the console.
buy a jap one, is the best decision if you want it to play Cave games.

Most of CAVE's STG ports are either region-free or have been localized by now. Only Dai Ou Jou and Ketsui, both of which are in MAME, and Mushihimesama HD are unplayable on a North American 360. Other STGs like Eschatos, Bullet Soul, Raiden IV, Raiden Fighters Aces, Otomedius Excellent are also region-free or localized. Maybe Under Defeat HD, Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta, and Radirgy Noa Massive actually require a Japanese 360; I can't think of any more at the moment.

Of course there's also the small chance that CAVE ports Sai Dai Ou Jou, but it's hard to guess what its platform would be right now. They've said several times that they are or are probably done with the 360.

They work fine for me and are still in my upload list. Maybe their server was just temporarily unavailable when you tried.

I split the archive using 7-Zip to meet MediaFire's 200MB upload limit. If you're having trouble opening the files, you need to open .rar.001 with 7-Zip or rejoin them with HJ Split and then open with WinRAR. Both programs are free and HJ Split does not require an install. Google for them.

.IPA is a simple rar container and can be opened with WinRar. Inside of it pretty much the whole data (including music) is stored in dariusburst.bnd (152mb) file.

I looked around Xentax forums and could only find the QuickBms scripts that works on BND files for Armored Core games and Dark Souls. Tried them on this BND anyways, but as expected it didn't extract anything.

Sorry that's about all I know about BND files.

.IPA is a simple rar container and can be opened with WinRar. Inside of it pretty much the whole data (including music) is stored in dariusburst.bnd (152mb) file.

The BND file is a container file with index blocks and actual data, some blocks are compressed, prefixed by DZIP and the music seems to be in AWB format whatever that is...

I thank the people who provided the DDP SaiDaioujou/MAXIMUM OST, Fast Striker, Black Label (DDP DF) and whatever else I got (Otome-X, DDP DF Arrange).

Quick question though: Which DodonPachi lets you fly the TigerShwert (Like how DaiFukkatsu lets you fly the Type-A Leinyan in a special mode)?

The boxed edition of Dai Fukkatsu Black Label comes with the "Ketsuipachi" arrange mode. It is region-locked and this mode is not included in Rising Star's localization of Dai Fukkatsu.

EDIT: The Dai Fukkatsu Double Pack may also include this mode, but I'm not totally sure.

Resurrection has everything except for the Ketsuipatchi arrange mode. That mode isn't worth it in my opinion, not at the cost of importing an NTSC-J 360. The only reason I'd recommend someone buy an NTSC-J 360 is if they wanted Mushihimesama HD and any (unlikely) future ports.

The only new thing in Mushihimesama HD is the 1.5 mode. There's not really much reason to grab a J360 anyways with the games already being on PS2/MAME or localized to the West so you're only missing a few game modes. Plus, CAVE said that they aren't going to make any more ports for current generation consoles.

x917
07-14-2012, 06:12 AM
Mushihimesama HD also has another arrange mode that is based on the arrange mode included in the subpar PS2 port. And outside of the PCB, it's the best way to play Mushihimesama. But yes, like I said, there's not much reason to buy a J360 nowadays unless you are hell-bent on a particular region-locked game.

Is there any way to extract the individual tracks out of an album ripped as one big FLAC file?

bcass
07-19-2012, 05:51 AM
Some FLAC files have internal cue files. When you load the file into foobar2000 does it show separate tracks? If so, select all the tracks and right click, select Convert, select "..." then click on Output format and select FLAC.

MiL
07-19-2012, 06:05 AM
The FLACs don't have an internal cue per se, when the disc is ripped into one FLAC file (this type of ripping is called image), the cue file that goes along with it has all the information about track lengths, names, etc.

Other than that you're right - load the .cue in foobar and it will allow to separate the individual tracks.

bcass
07-19-2012, 06:23 AM
FLACs can have internal cue sheets. This is quite different from ripping an "image" of a CD. Foobar2000 is one the apps that can read these internal cue sheets.

MiL
07-19-2012, 06:34 AM
Really? Maybe I just never heard of FLACs with internal cue sheets. So it would still be one big FLAC file containing all tracks and cue sheet inside of it? And just to make sure - we are not confusing ID-Tags with cue sheets for FLACs here, right?

I know TTA or TAK rips can have all metadata in one single file including tracks and everything. Also there's MKA audio container which can consist of a single .mka file that has FLAC image + cue sheet inside of it.

But never heard of FLAC having similar properties.

bcass
07-19-2012, 07:03 AM

Yes, that's correct.

And just to make sure - we are not confusing ID-Tags with cue sheets for FLACs here, right?
Nope, we're talking about one big FLAC file with an internal cue sheet. I believe you can create such files using EAC although I've never done it. I've downloaded plenty of single file FLAC albums though with internal cue sheets. I usually split them up using foobar2000.

---------- Post added at 07:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:58 AM ----------

The existence of the embedded cue sheet for the FLAC file format can be read about on the official FLAC FAQ:

FLAC - faq (http://flac.sourceforge.net/faq.html)

Search for "FLAC CUESHEET block"

And here: http://flac.sourceforge.net/format.html#metadata_block_cuesheet

Oh sheesh here we go some rocket science stuff. Ok, gonna give it a read and try to figure it out, I think it would be handy to have a single FLAC rip with cuesheet inside, so will see...

x917
07-19-2012, 11:58 AM
Thanks bcass! The FLAC image of this album has an external cuesheet. Loading it into Foobar2000 displays all of the individual tracks, so I can just extract them from there.

I'm so dumb, why didn't I realize this before? Could someone add to the list my two posts?

Konami MIDI Power & MIDI Power PRO (Thread 118317)
Zuntata History Lab & Space (Thread 118348)

There are some tracks from shooters in those albums, surely could be interesting. Thanks in advance.

P.S. Is there a rip for the Japanese Darius Twin - Super Famicom? I heard the SNES version was bad since they edited the treble.
