My most hated is DBZ. After the first season, I just couldn't get into it anymore.

My most hated anime... would have to be Bo-bo-bo.

Naruto started out sucky, but it got better. They even started using the Japanese intros starting in Season three, first it was just the soundtrack, then the videos from season 4 on. They were also pretty light on the editing compared to other places.

Dragonball was a rather light-hearted anime, but ended on a dark note. Dragonball Z was meant to be dark, and kept getting darker. I mean there was planet destruction! You don't see that in many other animes. The movies were also good. I don't mind the people who don't like the series, and I'm not trying to sway them. I'm just saying that dbz is very dark compared to other anime. There's massive bloodshed in the unedited/Japanese versions.

Inuyasha, is a rather neutral shojo anime. There are more fangirls than fanboys despite this. It's set in Feudal Japan, with slight glimpses in modern Japan.

Yu-Gi-Oh... is better as a Manga, and as the card game itself, I'll give you guys that much. 5Ds, the newest anime, isn't worth my time, and GX... well, that has a neutral standing in my opinion.

Pokemon is good as a game series, and was good until season nine. The voices were surprisingly good for an English anime until then. Veronica Taylor was a good Ash. This new VA... well, I don't like him/her. Veronica had several years to perfect what this upstart is trying to do.

Digimon... what I saw of it... it sucks.

Yumeria, it's good, but could be better.

I don't really like too many of the more accessible animes (I don't want to say mainstream since I don't know if the Anime Unleashed series on TechTV would be considered mainstream) DBZ is just some voice actors talking about how they're going to kick each other's asses, ...three episodes later. DBGT seemed to be more of the same, the original Dragon Ball was cool, though.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is pretty the same thing as DBZ, but with people playing a card game!

Bobobobobobo, or whatever the hell it's called, is probably the show most threatening to your IQ on television.

Poke'mon isn't that bad considering the other shit aimed towards kids. It seems to be one of those TV shows where there's great potential, but the team just didn't want to tray since it's just a "kid's show."

Naruto would be tolerable if it would get rid of the title character. (I fucking hate his voice, his testicles need to drop already!) Ironically, another problem with the show I noticed in the approx. 10 episodes I watched was, all of the other characters get more facetime and character development than the character the anime is about: Naruto! This is honestly worse than the recent Sonic games!

As you might have noticed, I seem to be slamming the Toonami shows. Well, that's where most of the shit is, but don't worry; there's shit in Adult Swim too. ;)

Inuyahsa, oh my God. This is probably the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. The half-demon concept, seriously? What, were you out of werewolves or cyborgs? Good demons? Now, I'm more into science fiction that I am into Fantasy, so I don't know if this is a "tried and true" concept but it's pretty damn stupid to me. Demon's are fallen Angels, that's like the epitome of evil. Okay, enough about the dumb ass concepts. The show itself, is like Anime for slow retards. It's the same damn thing over and over and over again. "Oh, I have to defeat Naraku!" So the gang goes off to find and kill Naraku, only to have their asses beat by him. "How are we going to defeat Naraku?" A character pops up (usually that old guy that constructed the Tetsaiga) describing a technique that can be used to defeat Naraku. The gang goes off to acquire the knowledge to perform this technique, acquire, and Inuyasha shows it off once. The gang goes and fights Naraku again, defeat him, find out that it was a puppet, he's escaped, or was rescued or some other Deus Ex Machina bullshit. Wash, rinse, repeat. I've watched campers play Counter-Strike less predictable than this.

Fullmetal Alchemist, this show isn't too bad. I just can't get into it for some reason. It might be because of the constant joking of the protagonist's height. Geeze, what is this Fresh Prince? It might've been because the protagonist's brother even though a possessed suit of armour, is still a total pussy. Or maybe, it might be because of the total bullshit ending. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. Basically watched the ending thinking it was just another episode. (it was part of a marathon) When it was over, I noticed that there were no more showings for that night. "That can't be the ending, it can't be that stupid!" I foolishly thought. I looked it up on Wikipedia, and yep, it was the ending.

DeathNote, I'm not going to say that this is a bad anime, because I haven't seen a single episode, bu what I say is: "What a stupid concept!" I thought that Blizzard's idea for turning WarCraft into an MMORPG was stupid, but this... Holy Hell. Did the writer's suffer so horribly from writer's block that they decided to watch bad 90's Greek Mythology influenced action shows? I remember seeing a similar concept in an episode of Xena. (different time, I was stupid) Not to mention the shitty Punk influenced Grunge played at the end (or was it the beginning) of each episode.

But as bad as Bobobobobobo (or whatever the hell it is), DeathNote and Inuyasha are, nothing could prepare me for the shocking, disturbing, most horrifying piece of shit that has ever disgraced the anime genre:

I've tried and tried to get this show. When I first saw it I immediately switched to a different TV channel. After thinking about it, I thought "Maybe it's one of those shows that seems stupid at first, but if you stick with it, it's pretty funny." So when it came back on later that night, I tried to watch the whole thing. By the time the first commercial rolled, I had a colossal headache. I thought the animation in South Park was bad. The animation in Shin-Shan makes the animation from South Park look like something out of Fantasia. I think the thing that contributed most to the headache, was the jokes. What the hell? In what universe could this possibly be funny? It's like someone took the concept behind Ren and Stimpy, made it more perverted, added swear words, replaced the animals with humans, and had some kid drop trow and dance or whatever the shit he does. The only thing that gave me anything near a chuckle was the name of their Super Hero: Action Bastard. The voice acting, did the crew just record people shouting? I supposed it achieves that "unrehearsed" sound, but some of them don't even sound like they belong in the same cartoon. If I had a chance between watching just uninterrupted one episode of this show or slow painful testicular torture, I'd take the torture in a heart beat!

Pokemon, in recent years, is actually somewhat bad. I'll admit, I used to like it, and I still do, though not nearly as much as I had when I was little.

Naruto is a pretty crappy anime (no offense to fans), and I hate how many people (including my sister) are Narutards. She considers me a MUGENtard (because I play a fighting game engine called M.U.G.E.N), but seriously, that's one anime I really hate.

when i bought the manga (yes, i buy manga) it quickly became my favorite manga ever, even more so than saint seiya (and saint seiya is my overall favorite franchise).
when i got the anime, the whole time i was with a big WTF expression on my face.
sure, it has its good points, but they can be counted with one hand and have fingers to spare.
on the negative side, the anime was severely butchered, like, gantz anime ending bad.

thats for the main series.

the AGAIN story arc (kanako's arrival) has a drawing style more faithful to the manga, whereas the story was once again butchered to gantz ending bad.

the specials are not that bad, the summer special was entertaining at best.

if you youre just curious to seeing the anime, go ahead, you will be dissapointed.

Record of Lodoss War, I believe that is what it was called. Hated every bit of it. It was boring, it was kinda stupid and it wasn't what I expected. That's what I think is the worst anime for me.

I loathe Bleach, Naruto, DBZ and other anime that still use typical 'techniques' like teardrops. slapstick, massive hammers that appear from nowhere and disappear after one use etc. The anime I mentioned in particular are based on an ongoing manga at the time of production which is why they have to have so much filler crap. Also, when you drag an anime on for 300 episodes or more, the quality and production values are going to be low to cut costs.

I do not consider any anime the worst, because all anime I have watched so far I have managed to like. Still, what I hate about some animes is how they go on and on and on... And never seem to end.

When most animes go beyond 100 episodes, I think there are two possible problems: Either a good amount of those episodes are fillers and are trying to advance the plot as slowly as possible or the plot is starting to lose its originality by reusing the same themes over and over. I have stopped watching some midway because of these two issues.

A friend of mine was SO into this anime that I was expecting something very good, so I watched it. Big mistake! The scenarios, plot and whatever else happens are there just to give the (male) characters opportunities to touch each other, despite this is not yaoi and they're (supposedly) not homossexual (although their looks alone state otherwise). Embarrassing situations (not comical) aside, the only emotion they seem to know is angst; lots and lots of angst. Basically, there's nothing else in this series. No character development, flat animation, poor music score, etc.
Despite being small, this was one of the most painful anime that I watched to date.

Angel Sanctuary (OVA series with 3 episodes)
If you're asking, yes, I read the manga, and it was decent, although nothing special. The OVA series, however, is below horrible.
It basically follows the story of your average teenager, with your average teenager problems, like wanting to bone his sister while hiding it from everyone else. Now, to that (already ground breaking) premise, add some homossexual demons (who, ironically, are the good guys) and some evil angels. Then, seal a "rebel" angel (i.e., a bad turning good) inside your teenager, and voil�! You have one of the worst plots ever conceived!

Worst anime ever seen: Legend of Duo.. man, you wait 5 minutes, nothing happens, and then.. The End.

Probably Cowboy Bebop but it comes in close with that stupid Shentan thing, infact Shentan probably takes the cake...

In any case, Cowboy Bebop's smoking habit and his obnoxiousness with it and just blatant disregard for courtesy pretty much irks me so that I can't enjoy the story, while Shentan... well that makes me want to kill someone.

DearS - Some parts of it are funny... if you can get around the slavery theme.

GITS:SAC is even better than the movies imo, and Shirow was responsibe for the Individual eleven concept of season 2... My worst anime vote would be Afro Samurai... I know its got Sam Jackson etc but it was pretty empty plotwise, and so drab aesthetically!!

I can't really think of an anime I truly hated although I tend to at least look up the plot of an anime before watching it and maybe look at screenshots to see the art style. I did, however, dislike Lucky Star. It was so...ugh.

School Days

I watched 3/4 of it, hoping that it would get better. But it didn't. The main character got on my nerves so bad that I just went on YouTube and watched the scene I had heard about at the end where he gets stabbed to death. It wasn't nearly satisfying enough.

That is about the only series where I wished I had those hours of my life back. I've seen plenty of mediocre anime, but School Days is, so far, the only series that I outright hate.

I'd say Digimon... what is that show about anyway O_o I used to watch it but really... I don't get it <_< pokemon, and yu-gi-oh GX that show doesn't even have Yu-gi-oh in it anymore!

I always thought that Kannazuki no Miko was the worst anime I've ever seen...untill recenly when I saw Art of Fighting anime movie. Ok, I'm not so demanding on anime based on videogames (I even enjoyed Tekken which lots of people say it's a trash :P ) but...Art of Fighting is another story. Everything...I mean, EVERYTHING at this movie sucks: the plot, the characters, the voice acting, the music, the animation, the battles...it's so low budget that even the american karate video b-movies of '90s looks like Bruce Lee movies in front of Art of Fighting.

Even if you're a fighting games hardcore fan or a collector or you like watching trash 90's anime (note that I love 90's anime)...DON'T make the mistake and watch Art of Fighting. You'll cry in front of the screen "Whyyyyyyyy?". Why did they dare to make such a trash and put the name of such a famous fighting. Man, even Psychic Force (another anime based on a fighting game) is much better than this.

I challenge ANYONE to try and defend the horrendous abomination that is E's Otherwise!

This is an anime with plot twists that you can see a mile away with characters that look and sound so bland that any 4Kids anime (and maybe Bakugan) make for a better form of entertainment, with character designs that match their personalities or lack thereof.

The story is extremely boring and predictable, following every generic anime cliche like a freakin' parody. Unfortunately, it is not, as it TRIES to be some serious story about a corporate conspiracy with child soldier/psychics...
...oh, and the obligatory "littlest cancer patient" is there, too, in the form of a frail girl that (obviously) has some significance in the story somewhere down the road.
Oh, and if you even THOUGHT 4Kids had some bad voice acting, you clearly haven't seen the dub for this show!
You'll have a greater appreciation for 4Kids, if that's even possible, after witnessing the horrendous "efforts" put into 98.9% of the cast! The 1.1% was left out in hopes that somewhere in the dark recesses of my mind, there truly was some sufficient voice work here that I overlooked, but I doubt it.
Oh, and the music, the usual sliver of hope in most anime? Non-existent.
There's something that SOUNDS LIKE music, but it's really just mindless noise, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Seriously, though, the soundtrack sucks. Opening theme, closing theme, and everything in between.

I've watched Puni Puni Poemi, and found it entertaining.
I watched 4Kids dubs and found something to enjoy in the soundtrack.
I even watched Revolutionary Girl Utena, the movie, AND the live-action play....AND ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD IT (which, IMO, pulled off the "mind-trickery" much better than NGE...don't hurt me!).
I watched ALL 26 episodes of E's Otherwise, subbed and dubbed, and I can honestly say that there is NOTHING redeeming about it.

This thing that calls itself an "anime" is a mockery to all forms of storytelling imaginable. It is an utter abomination that once seen can never be unseen....and once you do, you WILL regret it.

I would say Sailor Moon is worst anime because Sailor Moon was more story line, less action.
Most of their "fight" scenes were worse than the Naruto filler episodes.

There isn't an anime that I thought was bad, but I just didn't like it.

I like really bad anime. But not just any bad anime- It has to be what I have dubbed "gold-plated sh!t." An anime that has at least one great aspect (music, character designs, story, etc) but sucks in every other way.
For example, I love the robot designs and 80's music in "The Humanoid" even though I think the story is brainless and cliche. I like "Roots Search" for its ending song and unique concept (which I suspect may have inspired "Event Horizon," though one can never be sure), even though "Roots Search" is utterly horrendous in every other aspect. And "Crystal Triangle"... the "grorious Engrish" and "Russianese" literally made me laugh out loud, as well as the fact that God seems to be a giant squeaky-voiced caterpillar. I'm not kidding.

But I think the abosolute worst I have seen are "Mars of Destruction" and "Sailor and the Seven Ballz." They do have their funny moments, but in my opinion, this is not enough to make them "gold-plated sh!t."

The characters are not allowed to hurt their enemies despite them having potentially deadly magic batons (instead they use them to round the aliens up), their vehicles are nothing but oversized toys, the military in the anime sucked balls (what were they thinking?), and several annoying characters especially that exchange girl and Sylvia. Watching this is wasting 15 minutes of your life per episode that you won't get back and will be begging to get back.

I don't like Tekken the Motion Picture, Ninja Resurrection, Reign the Conquerer, Vandread, and Turn A Gundam. The first two I listed have horrible plots, the next one after has terrible looking character designs, for Vandread, I didn't like the plot and characters, and the design for the Gundam in Turn A just turned me off from ever seeing the series.

Pretty much any and all Final Fantasy related anime and I am including Advent Children was pretty much trash in my opinion. The 13 episode Ninja Scroll Series was crap and I'll go ahead and through Samurai Gun in there for good measure.

dbz is good, but its cut way too bad in the US, just get fansubs, and start with DB, its a great epic story when u go straight thru it from goku as a kid

Till now I thought Kannazuki no Miko was the worst anime I've ever seen. Untill I saw Art of Fighting a year ago.

It's so crappy that even 90's american karate-ninja video b-movies look like Akira Kurosawa's masterpieces in front of Art of Fighting. No kidding. Everything in this anime sucks: the story, the characters, the voice casting, the animation, the action...at least they could do a decent work with the action and the animation as an anime based on a fighting game. But heeeeeeeeeeell no: they didn't even tried. Just like with crappy live action adaptions of videogames. It doesn't even have its cheesy lines to make fun of ("Of course!"). It's be just so forgetable if it wasn't for its name.

Generally I'm tolerate with anime OVA/movies based on fighting games but this is one of the few exeptions. If you insist to watch it for the retrospective do it with your own rensponsibility.

Gad Guard...such wasted potential for what could have been at least a GOOD anime: hey, let's have kids with some alright mecha. Also, let's give the main character a cool jacket and have a neat setting. Hmm...no, no, not enough senseless drama between the characters. Also, let's make the main protagonist and antagonist connected, but without a solid reason for it. I can actually see why Katana wants to mess with Hajiki, but not so much vice versa. Anyway, bottom line: started out looking almost like a kids/teenagers show, ended up with some slightly adult themes and incorporated senseless drama with a dumbfuck of an ending.

And also that one Street Fighter movie where Ryu fights Akuma at the end to some lame music and history dialogue. I can't remember anything between the beginning and the end because there were much more interesting things to pay attention to in my head, but I do remember enough to say that the movie sucked.

Pokemon is actually great. Or was great should I say. We can make fun of it all day long but it's a good show for kids. It's good for their memory and imagination - remembering all those different abilities and "animals". I haven't watched a single episode in the last 15 years, and don't know what the show turns out to be nowadays; but the original series with Ash, Misty and Brock had excellent everything: writing, humor, action, traveling the world and seeing new places, meeting new characters. It's good stuff. If and when I'll have a son, I'll have him watch those original series from late 90s.

As usual, in this kind of threads a lot of people say DBZ, Naruto, Sailor Moon, Pok�mon or popular shows like that; but they are far from being the worst. In fact, I think only specialists know about which anime really are the worst. Those mentioned can be bad, or uninteresting, or have many flaws, but worst is another category altogether. The worst thing I personally saw was one movie loosely based on the Samurai Showdown videogames; it was really bad. No "I don't think I like this" bad, but "I don't want to watch anime anymore" bad (fortunately I recovered afterwards). Usually the animated movies based on videogames are bad enough, but this one was just awful: horrible animation, acting, pacing, music, writing (by the way, it wasn't even the videogame's story!), everything was awful. And I know that there are things even worst than that, but I don't enjoy torturing myself, so I didn't even waste my time watching them.

Worst one I've seen is Bleach after the Soul Society Arc. Just a massive drop in quality.

I think all anime is good in its own way for someone. There is no anime that pleases everyone. Usually harder to follow anime tend to have lots of haters. I dislike most series in fact, because they just repeat the old ones, and the old ones are not perfect either, so they also repeat their mistakes. Gantz, because of how it ended

Just read the mang�, seriosly.

I'm not gonna pretend it's the worst anime ever, it's obviously not, but I cannot stand Attack on Titan.

Everything about it rubs me the wrong way, it's all oversaturated brown and orange, the characters only have two emotions, angry or scared.

Buuut most people seem to hate everything I like so...

Gantz, Gyo and Mirai Nikki.
