In contrast to the PS3 mess this sounds fantastic (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=145753) :)

£149 doesn't seem all that cheap tbh :-(

that's 281 USD. that's almost what the PS2 retailed for.

It's AU$370 - about the same price that the PSP goes for over here.

Which sounds damn affordable next the the X360's $550 and the PS3's $900.

Still, there's a fuckload of stuff coming out in November.

When you compare it to the ridicolous price-tag of the PS3 and XPox360, it is cheap.

On may 25 it was said that "Nintendo has revealed to Famitsu.com, at the company's recent press conference unveiling its financial results, that Wii would arrive in Japanese stores with a maximum price tag of 25,000 yen. After taking in account various factors, the conversion to other currencies comes down to a launch price of: 225 dollars, 225 euros, and 150 pounds."

and since I believe the source of the quote (just as reliable as what you linked to) I'll stick with believing 150 pounds, or whatever else, is the max price.

Also, I'd rather just wait until nintendo to announce it on the 14th than listen to this speculation tbh~

Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton has told gamesIndustry.biz, that reports the Wii will retail for 149 and will be in shops shortly before November 24 are "definitely not right".

The claims, which appeared in an article by trade publication MCV, are "only speculation, and definitely not fact," according to Yarnton.

"They're not far off, but they're definitely not right," he told GI.biz.

As previously announced, Nintendo is holding a Wii press event in London next Friday, where it is set to reveal the official price point and launch date for the console.

"We will be announcing more details then," Yarnton confirmed.

Oh well :(

Well, recently it was announced that there is one-less thing coming out in November, and believe me, if the Wii can manage to get on Australian shelves in that time, it will be the stocking-filler that the PS3 was meant to be... for me anyway.

It is cheap, very cheap. All that the price translation proves is how strong the pound is compared to the dollar, when the PS2 was released here I think it was £299, so yanno.

EDIT: Not that £149 actually means anything since this has been shown to be baseless speculation.

£149 is way too expensive
£99 + the Wii sports game included would be a justifiable price

We will know for sure next Friday. However i will be very annoyed if the people here (cyprus) put it more than 170 Cyprus Pounds.

If 150 pounds is the UK price. It will almost surely go for 250 dollars in the US. This is a bit steeper than I was hoping for, though still not horrible.

You are kidding right?

It's a brand new, state-of-the-art console, £149 is very reasonable.

This doesn't give me an erection, because it's false information.

EDIT: nevermind, I didn't realize this was the European release info.

It's a brand new, state-of-the-art controller!
The console itself is just a slightly beefed up Xbox and its not like Wii sports is a state of the art game, its just a very logical one to start of with as it'l make it very easy to learn how to play with the Wiimote.. atleast thats what i'm assuming.

Who said anything about Wii Sports being a state of the art game? Out of all the launch titles, that's one of the least impressive-looking.

What sport games does Wii Sports has?

Maybe it is state-of-an-art-other-than-graphics.
