NEW! � 24bit Mono To Stereo Conversion � Star Trek � TOS � All 15CDs (MEGA)
OK!...I couldn�t resist the temptation to redo this conversion to see how it would sound with my improved processing (I�m disregarding the recent Volume 1 upload since that was a rushed, careless job�). For me, this is a better conversion than the previous set in all the areas I find important�that�s just me though, because one thing�s for sure�opinions vary�
An added note about volume levels. These CDs are tagged with replay gain and should be used with the "albumgain" tag. If you don't use replay gain, then the volume level will may have to be increased above your normal level for decent playback. These are mastered at about -5 or 6dB peak so they'll need pushing to get the correct level.
In an effort to reduce the odds on receiving �takedown� notices, I�m only sharing the converted files without any artwork or extra non-converted material. So, if you�re interested in hearing just the conversion and nothing more, then this will suit you.
These are shared as separate download links, so there�s no need to request individual items as they can be downloaded that way via the links.
As always, my thanks goes out to everyone who provided source material for these conversions and for all their magnificent efforts relating to this and other forums.
In relation to other posts I have on this site, if a post doesn�t include �NEW� at the beginning of the thread title then it is no longer available.
Rather than give a pointless, boring account of how the conversion process works, I�ll simply state that these conversions stand or fall by virtue of their �entertainment� value and that decision is always going to be a subjective, personal opinion that the listener has to make.
All these �New� posts are newly rendered conversions and supersede any older versions, including the recent �24bit Mono To Stereo Conversion Repository� thread. They are all genuine 24 bit/48khz files.
The nature of the conversion process means that these files are less forgiving of wrong playback volume. At too low a volume they�ll sound defocused and at too high a volume they�ll sound bright and edgy. If you have an audio system setup, correctly configured to use replay-gain tags (albumgain), then these conversions should sound fine. It�s possible that the stereo presentation may be best observed via headphones, depending on your speaker system.

I guess it depends on how you listen. I use replay gain and the settings are already in the files as tags, so on my setup the volumes are fine and should be OK for other replay gain systems. This set is way better than the repository version (my opinion), but since the links are for individual CDs then you can try one and see what it's like on your setup. These can be played fairly loud, if the replay gain setting doesn't give you enough volume. I kept the mastering level about 5 or 6dBs below 0dB peak, so you may need to turn you volume up if you don't use replay gain...I don't like to push everything to maximise volume level output!
