I own the vinyl release of this score back in the days and contemplating Drew Struzan’s drawing for the poster (and derived soundtrack album) was a real joy and stimulated my imagination as to what the film could be. Often time when purchasing a new James Horner score, I was looking to extend the feelings and emotions conveyed by a previous score that I loved (this tells you that I really did not mind the redundancy or self-plagiarism that I discovered, many years later, was blamed on the composer). With this one, I was hoping to prolong some of the musical experience I felt listening to his score for “Cocoon”. It did that partly but felt short. I wonder if the additional music and the fondness of years passing by would rekindle some of those emotions. PM sent.

I hope many of you who are sampling this will fall in love with this score like I have and buy it to support Intrada. Especially if you are waiting for Willow expansion that we all hope is on its way eventually. I bought this on a whim after listening to the samples, not being familiar with the original and have been amazed by how much I love the music. It has now risen up there with my favorite Horner scores, even with the big band pieces.
