Hey everyone, I'm sorry for the long hiatus. I received a request to stop sharing this release due to a request from the composers. I implore anyone who can to support the artists directly via digital purchases/streaming of the original album do so. I know that this remastered soundtrack is unfortunately only available through this album by re-sellers at the moment which sucks. But streaming or purchasing the original release can go a long way in supporting the artists who slaved away at this music we all enjoy.





Here is a release that I have been working on for a little bit in my spare time. This is fully recorded and mastered from my own copy of the vinyl. Super limited only 1,000 of these made. I assure you will find no hiss or pops in this recording. That is the guarantee I am wanting to make going forward with future VGM Vinyl projects that I upload. All releases will be in lossless format, so if you require MP3 files you can convert them easily with Foobar, FLAC Squisher, or dBpoweramp.

Honestly I'm not huge fan of the Starcraft videogames but I remember playing the first one in my teenager days and I really loved the soundtrack, especially the prog rock feeling in the Terran themes. The original CD release has way more punch, considering it was mastered for the loudness of a CD. This release is much softer and has a warmer feeling. I'd say this is the definitive version to listed to while chilling at home, while the original CD release is perfect while out and about.

Uh oh. That is not normal. For some reason the link I sent out doesn't have that part mastered..... Woops.

Edit: If you find any more please post. I think it's just on side B. I forgot to master the pops out of that one. I should have it fixed by tomorrow. There are actually hundreds of little pops you probably didn't hear as well. =P

I'd love to rip in that quality but most VGM vinyl isn't analogue to analogue, most either use the CD files, or in worst cases the MP3's. So most stuff will not be any more than 16/44.1 unless you find a company doing Hi-Fi masters.

Believe it or not, many people have uploaded non-VGM rips in that quality, but of course everything will depend on the turntable and audio source, as Laetteralus says.

But regardless if it's of that quality, I hope that in some future we can see a rip.

Thanks for the link, it's much appreciated! I'm just getting started listening to this, but it's truly great quality.

The tracks have been properly remastered, you can hear details on some tracks that aren't there in the gamerip versions. Terran and Zerg briefing rooms have proper intros and outros. And I just now realized that outside of that one CD from 2007 (http://vgmdb.net/album/4648), there is no other release with the cinematic tracks.
The lack of the expansion tracks almost doesn't matter, it's a treat nonetheless. Many thanks Laetteralus!

Vinyl releases are being hunted down in particular.
I've read some news the other day that a popular vgm channel on YouTube received too many strikes because of Streets of Rage. They sent a strike for each music track. Just because Streets of Rage received a vinly release as well.
I'm afraid the PM-only approach is the only way to prevent him from re-uploading the stuff every day.
